Tragic Duet #2

Rock Star, Unbroken

Rate this book
I knew better and I let it happen anyway.
I was drawn in by her kindness and the way she sees into people. The way she looks through their motivations, their fears, into the heart of them where the good waits. One glance and she’s stripped away the layers we wrap ourselves in to keep from being unique.
She saw into me.
Then used it to her advantage.
Now, my son is in danger and if she’s behind it, there won’t be a hole deep enough for her to hide in.
I broke my own rules for Naomi.
My son will not pay the price.

Rock Star Romance | Tragic Duet #2 (must be read in order)

Now THIS is the way to end a duet! DAMN! Shannon Shade had me REELING with this book. The angst, the fighting, the emotional turmoil, and the SIZZLING CONNECTION had me in AWE! Not kidding either. I felt this book in the depths of my soul. It held my heart (the entire duet really) and wouldn’t let go. I love a book that will kick start my emotions and this one did just that! SQUEE!!!! This is a must-read romance duet. It’s one of my favorites EVER WRITTEN!

If you haven’t read the first book in this duet ROCK STAR, INTERUPPTEDthen STOP READING THIS and go read that one first! As with all duets, the books MUST be read in order. If you have read it then I’m assuming your anxious to get your hands on this one because of how RSI ended. Well, you won’t be disappointed because S.M. Shade concludes Axton and Naomi’s story PERFECTLY.

I must admit, I never thought these two would be able to get over the lies and betrayal and come together. And while things DO get better, the buildup is ACTION PACKED GOODNESS. I’ll even go further and say that I didn’t think Axton could redeem himself to me as a reader. He truly comes off as an egotistical JERK (in the beginning and throughout a LOT of this book). HOWEVER, once we get to the bottom of his emotions and see WHY he is like this, things begin to clear. He certainly redeemed himself to ME after laying out his emotions and past. Shannon Shade can write an ALPHAHOLE though and while I wanted to slap him numerous times, I ended up loving him. Sigh.. So good!

All in all, this is an EXCELLENT duet. It’s a rock star romance with a bit of suspense and LOTS of secrets and lies. The twist at the end? I had a slight feeling I KNEW who was wreaking havoc, but I didn’t know WHY and was SHOCKED to find out. FREAKIN A- Shannon threw a curve ball I wasn’t expecting! So, if you enjoy books like this, don’t miss this one! I highly recommend it.

Wow! What a fantastic conclusion to this amazing duet! My poor heart almost didn't survive Axton and Naomi's story. It was so utterly heartbreaking and filled with so much emotion, but I loved every single second of it. The heartache, the pain, the plot, the writing, the characters. S.M. Shade certainly didn't hold anything back. It started off with a bang and finished even stronger.

Rock Star, Unbroken starts off exactly where Rock Star, Interrupted left off with Naomi behind bars and the continued search for little Caden. As can be expected, Axton is a wreck. Just as he lets his guard down and starts to fall for Naomi, tragedy strikes and old fears begin to resurface. He is sick with worry over his son, but at the same time feels betrayed by Naomi.

I honestly wasn't sure these two could get past all of the secrets, lies and betrayal. But they do, even though it takes a while. Axton certainly comes across as a mega alphahole, but he definitely redeems himself as we progress into the story. As much as I disliked him at times, by the end, I was head over heels in love with him.

Overall, this was one phenomenal duet! I can't even begin to recommend it enough. S.M. Shade certainly knows how to hook you and keep you invested until the very end. Once I started this book, I simply could not put it down. And although this duet has come to an end, I can't wait to see what the author has in store for us next. Five stars for Axton, Naomi and Rock Star, Unbroken!

I can finally stop holding my breath...I’m finished.
This was a nail biting, roller coaster ride that had my emotions all over the place.
Perfect conclusion to the Tragic Duet.
Naomi and Axton were equally broken, full of mistrust and dealing with horrible pasts.
They had so many lies and secrets to face within themselves and each other.
Tragedy, heart break and an innocent baby brought them together.
Their unconditional love for Hatch showed them happiness..family..forever..was a very real possibility.
This duet is not predictable! It’s a page turner that will leave you craving more from this world.
I need Dani’s story next....hint hint.
This is not a stand-alone. You must read Rock Star, Interrupted first.

Finally, this booklover has closure!

I couldn't wait to see how the events from the end of Rockstar Interrupted would play out in the final book of this Tragic Duet. I didn't realize when I started reading the 1st book that it would end with a cliffhanger, let alone such an explosive one. Killed me to have to wait for the rest but anyone that starts reading it now will not have the same problem with waiting, stress or worry because you can binge the entire duet right now..lucky you! It's a realllly great read.

I was sucked right back into the story, how could I not be? Axton was hard to resist, even if he was an alpha hole (which I personally love) in the beginning of Interrupted, he certainly redeemed himself, learning to love his son, beginning to have feelings for sweet Naomi and then that big stunner...What the what???

Yes, things aren't looking good at all as we step back into this world where Naomi is accused of something so hard to wrap your head around and Axton doesn't want anything to do with her or hear anything she has to say in her own defense. You almost can't blame him for it when you find out what it is, but wow Axton. She wouldn't be involved in any of this, would she? Things look really, really bad right now and there is angsty drama is in every page you turn. Some of it was hard to 'watch' but even teary eyed, I hoped for the best. I had lumps in my throat many times along with those tears but that just shows what a great story S.M. Shade wrote to make me feel all these emotions.

I'm not into giving away too many details and risk ruining the bigtime suspense that is filling these chapters for new readers. Everyone is affected in some way or another by these awful events- hurt, sorrow and pain take center stage and even when you think things might take a better turn, some new twist will come out of nowhere to slap you down a peg and keep you wondering if a happy ending is in the cards.

I would classify this rock and roll rollercoaster of a story tbis way- 1st of all, unputdownable for sure, suspenseful with a dash of twisty thriller mixed in, a heartstring puller, sweet, sexy character driven and so up my alley that it will be a very long time before this story leaves my brain...I thinks it's permanently imprinted there now! Vividly painted writing takes you right into the story and keeps you there, laughing at little Caden, worrying for Naomi, ready to almost kick some rockstar ass and then...well...if you just love an exciting book with some major feels mixed in, don't wait- grab both of these books and get settled in for an emotional story that you will hopefully love as much as I did today.

description
Rock Star, Unbroken jumped right back in where Rock Star, Interrupted left off. And that is exactly what I needed because I have been desperately awaiting this book.

There was so much intensity and emotion and angst in this story. Normally I'm not an angsty book fan but I was devouring this one. I smiled, shed a tear and just enjoyed my self as I was reading it.

Axton was very hard to not want to alternately shake and hug as this story unfolded. But I couldn't stay mad for too long when I knew what was going on in his head. Thank goodness for alternating points of view. Naomi was still just a great character. She was impossible for me to not like.

I loved this whole book and duet. I look forward to more from Axton's fellow band members and just hope for many more books to come from S.M. Shade.

This is the second and last book on the tragic duet.

I always finish books before sleeping and I can’t think of the tropes but here’s what I still remember:

- nanny/rockstar
- single dad
- plottwists

For the actual review,
This duet is one of the best duet I’ve ever read and its the first ones ive read by this author and it definitely didn’t disappoint. Axton and naomi are the cutest and lord they’re horny because whenever they were near each other they ALWAYS end up naked lmao. Caden is the cutest and ohmygod dani, god I like that girl. Also the whole band is such a mood. I don’t ha e Anything else to say but I will wrap this up with just saying; you guys need to read this duet right away.

So this was a perfect conclusion to the series. I loved that it picked up where it just left off! All the twist and turns of this book I absolutely love but I just loved seeing the growth from all the characters that are involved in this book! Especially with Axton doing things for the benefits of his son other than himself.
I love the relationship that Caden and Naomi have. And then the bond that Caden shares with both Naomi and Axton.
Just a great conclusion!!! I will miss Axton and Naomi but glad with the ending!

Oh what a fantastic continuation following Naomi and Axton. There was so much back and forth between these two it was giving me whiplash. As much as I love our main characters I fell even more in love with Dani and seriously want to see her have her own book. Can't wait to read more.

When the unthinkable happens, Axton's world is once again turned on its head. Only now he's got someone to blame, and she's the woman he was starting to care for. Will Naomi and Axton ever be able to mend their relationship, or will she be just another reason Axton doesn't feel he's able to love or be loved?

I will say this conclusion was pretty intense, and I know I'm in the minority, but I didn't really enjoy it like I did the first part of the duet. Axton is, and I hate to say it because I know he is a damaged man from his past, but he is a complete and total asshole for about 90% of Rock Star, Unbroken. I know what Naomi did was wrong, but Axton took his anger and rage way too far, and the words he hurled at her were inexcusable. So he's the main reason for the 3.5 rather than 4 stars I could have given this.

What can I say, this book was amazing. This is book two in the Rock Star duet series. I absolutely loved everything about it. I was scared to go into it because of the last cliffhanger, but it did not disappoint.

The first few chapters my heart was being tugged at in every direction. For Naomi who’s life was being turned upside down, BUT I needed answers too. Then Axton was all over the place with hatred and emotions. I just wanted to hug him. When he sees Caden again for the first time I cried with him. Omg that scene. I especially felt so much for Caden. Where he was trying so hard to find Naomi. His tantrums and crying fits my heart felt every single one. I just wanted to hold him.

When they slowly start to come back as a family I was at the edge of my seat. I just wanted them to be happy. That plot twist messed me up. Who would have known. Seriously. There was moments where I wanted to smack Axton, but I totally understood where his mistrust was coming from. Also, seeing him transform into this amazing dad for Caden was the most beautiful thing to watch unfold. The fear you see that he has of failing him, but he literally does everything to make sure he’s happy and loved.

Caden is the most precious baby character I’ve ever read. He literally melts my heart. This stage age is so enduring to watch. When he talks more and is curious about things. I feel like the author did an amazing job portraying the characteristics of a baby at this age.

The ending was bitter sweet. Bitter because it’s the end and I love this story so much that I didn’t want it to be the end. Sweet because it was beautiful. That ending couldn’t have been better.

I highly recommend this duet. It’s amazing and you know me and baby tropes. They’re my thing. Trust me when I say that this book is filled with every emotion out there and it won’t disappoint.

Shocking, Emotive & So Unexpected!!😱😭🙏 A Must Read Conclusion!😍🌟
Rock Star, Unbroken (Tragic Duet, #2)

This book had a lot to live up to, I'm happy to say it was successful!👍😍
It picks up almost where 'Rock Star, Interrupted' left off, with that hugely shocking conclusion!!😳

There is heart break & grief, rage & bitterness, betrayal & hate and so much more throughout!!😢😡💥 But at the centre of it all though is a little boy, He doesn't understand any of what's going on, he just knows that his 'person', his 'rock' is gone!!😭💔😭

This is, at times, both heart wrenching & terrifying. Axton can be a complete & utter Axhole!😡 Ok, it's justified to a huge extent, but my God, the spite that man can spew out of his sexy mouth is vile!😢 Naomi is a broken woman once her lies & their consequences are brought to light. Talk about digging your own grave!🥀⚰🥀 🙈

The characters in this series are, once again, brilliantly written. The situations & locations they find themselves in come alive off of the page!😍🔥🙏 I was engrossed in the story from start to finish. The push & pull, lust & love with fear & past traumas was absolutely sublime!🔥💘🔥 It had me warring between throwing my Kindle across the room in anger & frustration versus hugging it in its loveliness, joy & to keep it warm - What??😳 You'll understand, promise.😉😂

This is an absolute must read Duet. Full of heat, heart, shocks, terror & love!🔥💕😲😢💘💥🌟 I really hope the Author gives us Dani's story in the near-ish future!?🙏💕

5 Stars!

S.M. Shade rocked this hard and is back with the incredible conclusion to the Tragic Duet and y'all!! WHAT. THE. #$%&!! I was on pins and needles needing this second book after reading Rock Star Interrupted (f-loooooved this one!!) and wow, I'm totally stunned speechless in ALL the best ways after this. Axton and Naomi slayyyyyed my heart in the best (and worst in moments) ways, leaving me with such a high by the time the very last word was on the page.

Unforgettable. Unputdownable. Unexplainable. The three words that BEST sum up my feelings about BOTH books.

I won't spoil this and I'll keep it short and sweet. If you love rockstars as much as me... especially if you love gritty angst, high emotions, secrets, lies, passion, tension, steam, heat, drama, suspense, heartbreak all wrapped up in one captivating package.... then THIS duet is an absolute must read.

Run don't walk to devour this baby up.

I highly recommend this FANTASTIC duet.

After the ending she left us in with the 1st book, I'm glad to say she picked it right back up in book 2. The book is so well written, it pulls you right in and you feel like your right there. The anger and feelings of betrayal from Axton just eats at you, while the heartbreak and loneliness from Naomi brings you down but its the devastating loss felt by little Caden that just crushes you. I really liked how she made things more realistic by allowing all of this to take its time, evolving at a natural rate and not having it just glossed over in a day or two. And holy cow!! I sooo did not see that nice little twist there towards the end. Like seriously, did not see that coming at all, well done Shannon, well done!!

Omg! This book! Cry, laugh, love, disgust, cry, laugh, what the-what? What was that? Yeah. Twists like, whoa! I felt like the author was trying to rip my heart out through my eyeballs. And then she would throw some humor at me to patch it up and rip in again! I can’t properly articulate how much I love this book! The author even made a point to tie up loose ends that I didn’t even realize were loose until she was like yeah, this happened, and I was like oh yeah! A definite must read and my favorite book so far this year!

Wow! The epic conclusion to the Tragic Duet is here and let me reassure you, it is 110% satisfying! Ms. Shade knows how to write her broody rock stars! From the minute you start you won't want to put this down, nonstop action and the twists she throws your way, you won't know where this road is taking you. I can't say more without ruining it, trust me, go in blind you won't regret it. And Hatch! The cuteness and sweetness of this book!

From the first page this book grips your heart and takes your breath away!

It's a roller coaster ride of emotional craziness! The hate and love, give and take between Axton and Naomi keep the pages turning at light speed pace!

Shade takes her phenomenal storytelling to a whole new level! Readers won't be disappointed in the twists and turns she throws at them. A must read!

Love simultaneously makes life worth living and ruins your life.
This is a tough book to rate. I loved it and yet hated all the back and forth drama. I really didn’t like how much crap Naomi takes from Axton. He was awful in book one, and is worse in this one.
I brought Naomi back here for Hatch, but part of me wanted the chance to torture her, to make her feel the way I did the moment I found out that she was lying to me.
The ending of this was completely ridiculous and OTT. I don’t understand the plot line of a As always, the writing is excellent, I’m just done with drama for drama’s sake.

I’m looking forward to reading Patrick’s book! I’ve heard good things about it and he was SUCH a sweetheart in this duo.

Lots of angst, but good ending

There is a lot of angst in this book. Both the H and h have issues from their pasts that are affecting their present lives. Axton believes things about Naomi that aren't true, both because of past issues and because she wasn't completely honest with him in the beginning. Naomi is shattered by what she's erroneously accused of, and losing Caden, Dani, and Axton in the process. Strap in for the wild, crazy ride to see if these two can find their way together.

A fabulous conclusion to the Tragic Duet ! I loved the angsty emotional journey of this beautiful couple . Ax and Naomi took me the reader on a beautiful ride . They had such an amazing connection with sizzle, angst and drama. This couple put me on a roller coaster ride of every emotion but I loved every minute of it !!

I gave the first book in this series 4 stars because of the shock-factor of the plot twist but this one didn't have anything happen on the last 3 pages that was interesting enough to make me ignore the hero's asshole behaviour.

Deep breath... OOOMMMM, trying to calm and ground myself. It isn’t working. Yikes. My mind is still trying to process this read. This book (WTH) SO GOOD. Let me tell you more.

First off, HOOOLLLY HECK my menopausal ovaries where flipping from this HOT book cover. Eek. I want to hold that baby and maybe its daddy. (Wink) Hee hee!

Geesh this story picks up right where book one left us. Yes I went in thinking how the guitar picks is this author going to explain everything. Uummm what was I thinking, this author NEVER disappoints. She answers all beautifully.

I continue to love Naomi in book two, even with some of her mistakes, my allegiance never wavered. She is so AMAZING with baby Caden and she has a forgiving heart when needed, without being a doormat. Go girl. (Fist bump)

Axton is still a bit of a turd in this book but truthfully what else would you expect. He is a rockstar that has issues from his horrible childhood. He is his own worst enemy for a good portion of this book. His redemption, he is such a good dad. (Sigh)

This read gives us moments when the band gets together and it compliments the story so. They are so funny and delicious as a whole. (WINK) Yes I might have some rockstar fantasies, don’t judge me. (Haha)

Plan for a twist like no other. I did not see it coming... yep that is ALL I am saying.

Ok I lied, one more thing. I need Dani’s story next... I need the details. Jus’ sayin’.

Hope you enjoy what I feel is a five star read as much as I did. Happy Reading Everyone! XOXO
