The climate challenge and what we can do when there's no Planet BMost Australians accept that climate change is real, but many don't know what to do about it and feel powerless to make a difference. Please note this is a 3.5.

This book is a good starting point for making active changes in your life in order to help save the planet. It highlights some changes that may be made by individuals to help out, even if they cannot impact to the extent that big corporations can. I think there's a lot to be said for small changes, but there's got to be more that you can do that's even pushier. The author highlights some things that may be done, but realistically doesn't go as far as he could.

This book is still a great companion to the television show, and I think it's had at least some impact on how well things have been changing in households, but I wish that there were further suggestions given as to how people can make change. As optimistic as this is, I don't honestly know if the optimism is reasonably warranted at this stage.

Companion book to the tv series, covers a lot of the same content but well condensed and easy to read. Australian perspective and humour so less of an international audience, however a great beginners book to read if you want an overview of where we're currently sitting and the three main areas that could be improved to help reduce climate change. Specifically the book covers energy, transport and food from a government then individual perspective.

YOU MUST READ THIS BOOK! Whoever you are, read this book. While it starts off quite depressing, as Craig admits himself, he oscillates between dread and hopefulness, this book offers solutions that we can all take. If only our political leaders would read this book!

Though dealing with Climate Change from an Australian perspective, this book nonetheless provides an insightful and humorous take on the crisis impacting the future of our species; and is just as applicable in the UK as it is down under!

Reucassel's writes in the same fun and engaging way that he speaks - and he's a great presenter!

I often found myself asking questions only for him to answer them on the next page.

Fight for Planet A is a remarkably quick read for such a comprehisive examination of all the moving parts in Australia's action (read: lack of action) to effectively address climate change.

Reucassel's data is meticulously researched and referenced so it's easy to trace every claim for yourself. He presents realistic and thoughtful solutions for individuals and households and encourages us to use our actions and our words to urge our local, state and federal politicians, (those who are supposed to represent the interests of all Australians) to move towards lasting and effective change. The solutions are surprisingly simple, but untimately need effective and repsonsible government leadership to get off the ground.

Every Australian should read this book.

Informative. A book written on climate change that is easily digestible, sprinkled with humorous remarks. This sets out the current situation plainly as well as the future and what can be done, mainly by big businesses and government but also on a more grassroots level. I was hoping this book would contain more about what the individual can do, however I feel more empowered with the knowledge provided in this book than a mere list of action items which is what I was expecting. My only wish is for every politician to be forced to read this book, along with climate sceptics. Perhaps then real change in this country will occur.

Why is it so hard to change people’s behaviours (including my own)?

And, why do I find self-help books so boring?

Craig Reucassel and Harper Collins Publishing Australia did a great job writing and packaging this companion book to the ABC TV series.

But, it’s me. I know…
This was not my favourite book on my bedside at any point in time.

Hand on heart, I did however take a few things on board. We now have a more efficient car (not fully electric), solar powered hot water heating and greener options through our energy provider.

Thanks. If I cycle more, that would have added health bonuses too… but one step at a time.

This is definitely a good introductory novel for climate change but this book mainly focuses on what adults and government can do which means I couldn't find a lot to relate to and work out what to do as a teenager. This book has good writing but lots of randomly placed jokes.
Jokes aside, this is hard hitting book dealing with an important topic many people (including Australians ) choose to ignore. I learnt quiet a lot of facts while reading this- particularly scientific facts and physiological facts.

There's a lot to consider about how to go about tackling global warming and this book is good at putting it all into perspective and what to really prioritise. Craig's writing is very straight forward with that same injection of just enough humour that you see from him on television. He did a good job keeping the balance between optimism and telling the grave facts as they are.

An excellent read, and very up to date in its facts and figures. I love that it covers both government-scale and personal scale contributions that can be made, as we will need changes to both if we are to succeed in protecting our climate. It also has some easy smaller scale changes that make a surprising impact - like swapping beef for kangaroo, or paying a dollar or 2 to offset your flights.

If you’ve seen the TV series, this is the book that goes along with it. It is basically the TV series in written form. I prefer the TV series, I found the visuals really impactful.

Worth reading for any Australian to get an idea about where we're at on climate policy (it's depressing) and what we can do about it (slightly less depressing!).

Good, funny. Was a bit slow to get thought at times, but that may be because of the font of the text
