Fool In Love An April Fool's Day Hot Holiday Novella
When a shy workaholic wants to date, what is she supposed to do? According to my cousin, the only solution is to sign up for an exclusive dating event on April 1st. I was nervous. I was awkward. I was unprepared. I didn’t know what to expect on April Fool’s Day. But the last thing I expected was to become a fool in love.
I love these holiday hookups. Kenya was nervous as hell, about going to a dating event alone, and almost quit before it began. This was so out of her comfort zone, and she was over it. Pushing through her nerves she stayed to try and find a love connection. Those damn speed dates were hilarious! The things people come up with in 3 minutes to ask is insane. 👀 Having Malik sit at her table was a pleasant surprise, as she hasn't seen him since high school. The immediately hit it off, and things seem to be well on their way. Well, until Malik's companions tell her of the foul ish they planned prior to the event. Now Malik done almost derailed his connection with Kenya over some childish man ish! Ughhh.... 🤬 I need more to this. Cause I was not feeling this ending at all! 😡😤
This was an okay read for me. I like the fact that Malik and Kenya reconnected but what happened next. It's like the book ended without answering the question on where do they go from here. Were Malik and Kenya still together when she was telling Zola about her holiday hookup?? It was a good quick read but just left questions.
Another cute little one-spicy-scened book. I liked this one but things kinda went off the rails towards the end. It’s not my favorite of this series but I’m not mad I read it.
Malik and Kenya hot holiday hookup happens to fall on April Fool’s and nothing was foolery about it. Haven’t seen each other since high school and a round of speed dating tends to open up old feelings and hot and steamy sexual tension. Straight to the point and left no cliffhangers and would definitely recommend.
This is a reread for me, but I enjoyed it a little bit more this second time around. I decided to update my review. The speed dating concept was fun and quite accurate. It reminded me why I’ll never go down that road again. Kenya and Malik’s backstory was cute. It made their instant connection feel believable and exciting. The other dates that she encountered were so trash. I was cheering for her to get that old thang back. Their sneaky link was so risqué. I was glad she was on her YOLO vibe. I could’ve done without the angst at the end. It threw off the flow of the book, so I was glad that it got cleared up. I can always count on these Hot Holiday Hookups to give me a fun, quic
I really liked Malik in the beginning but the fact that at his age he would still part take in those immature games was a big turn off. Kenya may have forgiven him but I didn’t. I’m actually disappointed she forgave him
Loving these Hot Holiday Hookup Novellas. Malik and Kenya had me worried for a minute. This hookup could have gone terribly wrong but the heart prevailed.
The story started out cool and elevated to scorching hot, stick your toes in first goodness. The dating scene is no joke, but this author never fails to deliver a well-told story. Kenya and Malik reconnected after many years at a speed dating event. During the dating challenges one of the men, Lawrence ,or something about him didn't jibe. Check that part out, and let me know if you feel it too! But Kenya/Malik was sizzle, sizzling sexy. A fun read, and I'm so glad to miss all this fun. Hope to see this couple again, and that's not an April Fool's joke.
The fact that I’m done with the Hot Holiday hookups makes me so sad. As usual, this was a short and cute read. Kenya is looking to add some spice to her life. Always quiet and shy, she decides to give speed dating a chance and unexpectedly rekindles a flame with her high school prom date Malik. Danielle did her thing with this series, this book was no exception. I loved the speed dating scene. I think it added a different vibe to the story and made me interested in attending one. The men she met were hilarious LOL! The pickings were sure slim. I liked Malik and Kenya together. They had great chemistry and conversation so I was totally invested in their hookup. To avoid spoiling everything, I’m going to say that Malik’s actions had me giving him major side eye and seeing red flags coming from every corner. I got instantly turned off and irritated. Like ughhhhh, how old are we again? He had the perfect opportunity to come clean and he failed. That was an instant cut off for me. INSTANT I SAY!!!!!!!! Just foul! Overall, this wasn’t a bad story, the twist just didn’t make it favorite.
Okay but why have I always wanted to go to a dating mixer thing like this? It seems so fun but my anxiety would probably kick my ass.
Listen when one of the guys at the mixer started rapping I almost fucking lost it LMFAOOO I’m assuming that was inspired by Two can play that game. JULIAAAA YOU KNOW I NEVER MAKE A FOOOL OF YAAAA Bawhahahaha okay I’m done.
Malik & Kenya, HS fling reunited by fate at a singles dating night. This was really fun not as good as the first but I still enjoyed it. The conflict in this one pissed me off quite a bit, but it worked out good.
I would have enjoyed it more with some romance, but it was a nice quick erotica. Felt a little like a bully romance with the end with all that drama, but not a bad read.
Kenya goes to a speed dating event on April Fool’s Day. She is by herself. She has nervous and unsure even she should even go through with attending the event. She decides fuck it and let’s do this. The bizarre men that are ending at her table are making her lose faith until Malik Battle joins her who just happens to be her prom date from high school. They pick up right where they left over and have an instant chemistry. Obviously, she picks him and they go up stairs for a dinner date. They connect and the sexual tension is on FIRE! They end up doing the deed in the bathroom. They come out and rejoin the rest of the participants and are getting ready to leave when Malik’s friends make a comment about a bet. Kenya is horrified that this whole thing with Malik could be fake and for money. He ends up finding Kenya in the parking lot and they talk it through. The spicy factor is a 1/5. 🌶️/5. I would rate the book a 3/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️/5. It was a quick read, not much depth to the characters but it was a good.

"I'm a biochemist." The charming smirk was back. "That's sexy." "Being a biochemist?" "Being that beautiful and that smart at the same time."
Danielle. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! Ugh this hot holiday hookup is my favorite one and I couldn't get enough. I love the idea behind it and I had myself wondering if I should try speed dating thanks to this novella. We get to see the real side of trying to meet people, especially the nerves when it comes to stepping out of your comfort zone. My attention was captured almost immediately, and I couldn't wait to see who would be the lucky guy who snagged Kenya's eye. But the little twist that was thrown at us was surprising! Danielle, you killed it with this one!
“But the thing about getting your back blown out is that it can make any holiday sexy.”
Listen...WHERE IS THE LIE WITH THAT QUOTE?
This is the second book in the Hot Holiday Hookup Series and it follows Kenya and Malik. This is a second chance romance. Kenya and Malik dated in high school and reconnected at a dating event. You can feel their connection instantly. They were joking around like no time has passed, like friends who don't see each other often, but when they link up they pick up right where they left off.
This book is sexy when you need it to be with just the right amount, it's funny when you don't realize that's what you need, and it's just beautiful overall.
If you want a fun, sexy and short read--the Hot Holiday Hookups Series will be it for you.
NOPE, deception is never game, funny, cute nor forgivable ‼️ “Fool In Love (An April Fools’ Day Hot Holiday Hookup): Hot Holiday Hookup Novella Series) was not an entertaining read. It was stressful reading adult men still participate in juvenile antics pf deception. The audacity of Alex, Mac, Linwood and Malik too (using women as a pawn in their sadistic penile p🤬🤬 contest🤨‼️) “told me about a game they used to play on each other’s birthdays,” he explained. “Everybody puts in the dollar amount of the birthday age & whoever wins gets the pot.” WTAH⁉️…No thank you! This novella’s concept was offensive!
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Short yet sweet! This was not your typical romance story! From the moment Malik sat at Kenya’s table during the speed dating event I knew that they would hit it off! I loved their chemistry! Malik almost scared me there for a minute! Without giving away to much of the book let’s just say he cleared up any misunderstanding that Kenya had! This was most definitely one April fools day to remember! If you’re looking for a not so typical love story then give this one a try! I promise you won’t be disappointed
This is definitely worth the read if youre looking for something quick and hot! Kenya is quiet and shy, but she's trying to spice things up! She may be a little wilder than we think. Going to this speed dating event she explores the dating scene and so many of the guys seem quite uninteresting. The next thing she knows she's catching up with an old high school flame and the sparks are flying! What a hot little novella. Will Malik and Kenya start something or will it fizzle before it can truly begin?
Title: Fool in Love Author: Danielle Allen Format: Audio Narrator: Simone Guyuma Genre: Holiday (April Fools Day), hook up, second chance, speed dating Standalone: yes Part of a Series: part of the Hot Holiday Hookup novellas POV: Kenya Steam Level: slow burn to steamy 4/5
I listened to this audiobook on the Read Me Romance podcast. Set up as a story that takes place during one evening during a speed dating event Fool in Love is both funny and steamy. I enjoyed the writing style but also left me wanting more (due to how it was told).
SOMEONE EXPLAIN TO ME HOW SOMEONE CAN MAKE APRIL FOOLS DAY HOT AND STEAMY??????
Yeah, I loved this. If you’re looking for something, short and spicy, but also has a bit of plot to it—this is for you. Malik Battle is something else 🙈, his words had me weak in the knees. And Kenya literally felt that way.
The only downfall for me was when we found out about the bet between Malik and the rest of the guys. It was predictable and I don’t know, I wanted something else? But then again, it’s a novella so it’s supposed to be short and straight to the point. But other than that, loved it!
Hot and seductive story. Two old friends from high school meet and hook up at a dating event on April 1st. Can a love connection be made on April Fools Day? Kenya and Malik meet, they have great chemistry p, a quick hook up , then she finds out he and his friends has a net about on who could take a woman home. Is their chemistry real or is it all an April Fools joke?
I liked it! Kenya was very likable. I loved how she oozed confidence in a work setting but she fell flat in social situations. Her awkwardness with dating and nerdiness helped me to root for her to find love at the event. All of the characters that sat at Kenya's table during the speed dating round were quite entertaining. I liked Malik up until the bet that his cousin/friends had was revealed. It was a cute story even if I didn't want them to end the night together.

Is speed dating really like this? I’ve had some serious dud dates from the dating apps so I guess speed dating can draw some fools too - women and men apparently. From the thirsty women to the arrogant men, this night was a trip. But you never know who you’ll run into at things for singles.
This night was so close to ending in a catastrophe. I’m glad Malik and Kenya connected. Who’s the fool - Macs drunk butt!
I didn't think Kenya was going to have any luck with finding a match especially after the horrible speed dating round. Then here comes Malik someone from her past that she was happy to reconnect with again. All I can say is wow!! There bathroom session was steamy!! She was too trusting that his feelings were real after finding out about the bet he had with his cousins and friends. That must have been one amazing bathroom session lol.
This was a quick listen. It kept my interest although i did not like the female lead. Not to sound old-fashioned but she was just stupid.
Spoiler alert: She hooked up with a guy on a first date in the bathroom (i think that was the room?) of a public place and then got her feelings hurt a few minutes later.
Lesson: if you play with dirt, expect to get dirty.
