Fairy Tail won the Kodansha Manga Award for shōnen manga in 2009, and Mashima was given the Harvey Awards International Spotlight award in 2017 and the Fauve Special Award at the 2018 Angoulême International Comics Festival.
Got me real keyed up, if you know what I mean. This series is a cause for celebration. I really think if all those fake news assholes and Left Twitter settled the fuck down and read a great book like this ever once in a while they wouldn't be gettin their snowflake panties all bunched up. CHRIST.
Just like in the other books in this series there a lot of fanservice, some bath scenes (like one per mission), and there is also some light bondage along with slave trade themes so if these things bother you turn away. :)
Reading through this volume I started wondering about the other girls in Fairy Tail...Sure Erza is awesome, Juvia is a neat and obsessive reformed villain, Wendy is adorable and strong when she needs to be, and Lucy is basically the soul of the guild now that she joined but short of the ocasional cameos like Cana, Mirajane, and occasionally Levi it always seems to be the main force girls only. How about a fun adventure with Laki and her unusual vocabulary folks. :)
Speaking of missions the girls get a few done in this volume including a host club fiasco where the girls have to pretend to be guys, Fairy Heel guild members are sick and Fairy Tail is there to save the day but something sinister is in the background, Gray finds a baby in hay and needs help while finding her parents, and finally a thief is stealing personal items from girls at a school and the principle hired the girls to find the culprit but what luck will they have as they have fun.
Given a choice of a favorite moment in the book I think it would be Ichiya has been missing but no one was concerned about him then the girls accidentally find him after discovering what Mireilla has been up to and Erza sends him home the hard way. :)
So this manga volume out of all 3 of the fairy girls volumes so far, has the most fan service so if you're not really a fan of that maybe fairy tail isnt your thing but anyway to this particular volume there were other non-fairy tail guild members which was really fun also there was kind of a tie-in to an ova (you'll know it when you see it). In addition it was fun seeing the guys in this one (even if they were just Natsu and Gray) but I wished there was more and that there were more of the other girls like the volume previously. I also enjoyed the summer themes like the island and hot springs etc. Because of these points, I have to give this volume a 4 out of 5 stars I am excited to see what the last volume of this is going to be and it's a great way to get some fairy tail shenanigans in your life.
In principle, the story could have been good with its little stories about the girls from Fairy Tail, but there is far too much fan service, even with minor characters. It has nothing to do with the original work, and I find that a bit of a shame because it underdevelops the characters' personalities.
This was once again so much fun, I am delighted that I could read this one. The first two I read through a Humble Bundle and this one through Comics Plus! I loved the various adventures the girls had and love the mix of magic, humour, and a bit of sexiness.
The continuing adventures of four female members of the Fairy Tail Guild. This volume has three one-chapter quests and in the middle a three-chapter quest where they are sent to help the Mermaid Guild. A lot of fun and humour. These volumes (and this one in particular) are full of women un-dressed to appeal to the adolescent male or "Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edtion" fans. A bit too much boobs for my personal taste.
