Dr. David M. Jones studied Anthropology and History at the University of California, Berkeley. He obtained a PhD in the Archeology of the Americas at the Institution of Archeology, University of London. He has written many books and articles on Mesoamerican and South American art and archeology.
I have to admit to not reading this cover to cover. There were some very interesting bits and just the sheer amount of pictures was amazing, but I found the alphabetical, encyclopedia type format just a bit tedious. I really wanted to enjoy this more, but I think an actual textbook, with discussions, might be more up my street.
Really helpful resource if looking for information on various Native tribes, the names of the gods, and culture heroes of North, Meso-, and South America.
