Then she sees him again weeks later, and Carson wants the one thing she doesn’t. More. In the face of his methodical seduction, her resistance is crumbling…

Heat of the Storm
Will has waited fifteen years for the storm that sends Mackenzie into his arms. Then she shoves him right back into the friend zone. But he’s a SEAL to the bone, and tenacious as hell.

Will is the one man not scared of Mackenzie’s psychic gift. Their one night of passion is more than a mistake. It generates a tragic vision of the future that leaves her more afraid than ever.

4 Happily Hot and Bothered Stars
* * * * Spoiler Free
Woweee, Wow! I have been reading Elle Kennedy for quite some time. She had many books through Entangled Publishing with the Brazen Imprint which promises its readers to be smokin' hot, have lots of connections and some serious heart between all of the players.

Well, this collection of three novellas has that same feel of the other books I had read and you will be enjoying all of the sexy times presented.

There is much to choose from...

A woman who has had a crush for a Seal who was interested in her too...only he didn't know how to let her know. Well, she over hears this Seal talking to a best buddy about how he would love to have her, share her but she would never go for that...

Surprise, Surprise...
Our gal decides to take both these fellas up on what she overheard!!!

We get two other stories equally as hot but with other twists and turns... but always with the required and enjoyed Navy Seal.

More books are going to be released in this configuration... and all of the reading should be fun.

~~~~~ Before Reading ~~~~~
What can be more fun...
Three entries from an Author who knows Sensuality...
The ones executing these experiences...
Why, Navy Seals, of course...
Hot set of SEAL novellas
Three quick and steamy novellas about some SEALS and the women they want badly. There is a threesome in the first story that is pretty hot. All in all a good read if you’re looking for quick and steamy.
Three novellas for the price of one.
First story was the best of the three. The second one left a lot to be desired (our female lead was...Not great)! Third was nice and sweet.
Wasn’t the best from Elle Kennedy but it was fun anyway.
I really liked the first and third books. They were super hot and fun. These books are not to be read for their depth, they are definitely quick, sexy reads, but I will read anything Elle writes, even slutty romances.
Deliciously hot reads, perfect to pick up any day, any time. I really wish they’d be full length novels instead of novellas because I’d love to read more about these characters.
The romances were hot and steamy and well developed for the short stories they were. Couldn’t get enough of them and already can’t wait to get my hands on the next novellas and the full length novels that come after #6.
I definitely recommend reading these stories if you’re looking for quick steamy romance reads about hot SEAL’s and women who stand their ground among these strong headed men hihi.
What the hell........
I've LITERALLY just finished reading the first Elle Kennedys Off Campus book, thought it was brilliant and basically everything this book wasn't. How can an author go from "are you literally reading my mind" to this
I mean what a shite fest.
I've paid money for this book, no kindle unlimited deals here and boy do i feel like i've been bamboozled. F**k this shit man
These stories No scrub that, these novellas (is a couple of chapters classed as a novella ? Cause if they are that's what these are) are waaaay to short. No story is laid down, the only thing being laid are the people ; They are literally porno's in book form.
NONE of the men in these books seem very nice, they are purely walking erections
They ALL needed a few hard slaps to calm the heck down, they were proper whores.
The woman were SO shallow it's unreal.
If all you want it lots and lots ofsex scenes with no story line (literally like a porno) then these books are for you.
It wasn't what i was after and that makes me sad
I mean as i've said before i've paid for this shit man.
I've literally handed my hard earned cash over and been rewarded with a slap in the face.
I KNOW i'm being dramatic
But i was really looking forward to liking this book and it just didn't happen
3 stars, overall
This was a freebie on Amazon consisting of the first 3 novellas in a series that comprises 10 books overall, I believe. These books are basically erotic fluff with no plot or character development and I'm not saying that as a complaint. Sometimes some fluff is all I need.
Heat of the Moment - 3 stars
Friends-to-lovers novella with two people crushing on each other but both thinking the other isn't interested. I LOVE THIS SETUP. Also there is a hot threesome with a friend. Definitely the best of the bunch.
Heat of Passion - 2.5 stars
Sorta hidden identity briefly. A ONS in a nightclub later turns into a fling. It was so short nothing was really developed.
Heat of the Storm - 3 stars
Best friends-to-lovers with... some psychic stuff thrown in.
I guess I'd like this more if they weren't all Navy SEALs because military protagonists are never gonna be my jam. I can't turn my brain off when I see throwaway references to ~fighting in the jungle~ and ~bombs~ because I'm like "whose country are we bombing today?" Just stick to the fucking ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Ok so I loved and I mean loved the off-campus and briar U series by elle Kennedy, so I was like super pumped for this book.
And I didn't know that it was 3 stories in one book..
And to be honest the first two did not really do it for me.. I wish we would have had more depth and story line.
But the 3 story really had me.. Well I still wish it would have had more depth but i liked that the main story here was not only sex (well it kinda was but not as bad as with the first two)
I missed that there was not a valid or more depthed storyline...
I received this book for free from Author in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
I've been wanting to read this series since....forever!  Annie had actually read some of it years ago when it first released through Samhain and after that I got into reading Elle Kennedy.  She's now one of my favorite romantic suspense authors and the fact that this was about military heroes and it's an erotic romance series... well, that seemed to be right up my alley.  Plus, those new covers are just HOT!  This first book actually has three short stories.  I will admit I'm not the biggest fan of short stories because they often feel rushed for me.  But I think Ms. Kennedy managed to give us a great intro to the series with these!  And yes, I definitely have my favorite of the bunch.
HEAT OF THE MOMENT - 4 Stars
This was my favorite story from this book.  The hero, Garrett, has been lusting after Shelby for about a year and thinks she's not interested.  Shelby has been feeling the same about Garrett.  By pretty much accident they stumble across some flirting and end up acting on those feelings and quickly realize they go deeper than a physical attraction.  I think this was the best story for many reasons.  I really felt the connection between Garrett and Shelby.  Maybe that's because there's the backstory of them knowing each other for a year before this, but it just worked for me.  Garrett is also adorable and my favorite hero from the three stories here.  Also....it's the hottest, in my opinion.
HEAT OF PASSION - 3.5 Stars
We met the sexy hero of this story in the first one when he was part of a threesome between the main couple.  Now they are getting married and ends up having a fling with a waitress at their wedding.  This was the one that felt a little too rushed and maybe even borderline insta love for me.  I always run the other way when insta love is involved.  That being said, I really liked the hero and I thought their story was cute.
HEAT OF THE STORM - 3 Stars
I'm shocked this wasn't one I was more invested in.  Best friends for years who finally admit they have feelings for each other and act on those feelings.  She especially struggles with not wanting to lose that friendship by crossing the physical line.  This is a trope I usually eat up, but maybe it was how short it was that felt like it was missing a deeper connection?  I'm not sure what to put my finger on.  It's an entertaining read and as always the hero is sexy and alpha, as the rest of the Navy SEALs in this series.  But it was the most forgettable of the three for me.
I'm really excited about continuing to read this series.  Elle Kennedy certainly turns up the heat with these!  I can't wait to read more from her alpha men.
These were about what I expected, pretty much equivalent in quality with the After Hours books by Kennedy, but nowhere near Briar. If you're looking for something sex-heavy and low on plot, these might work for you. Personally, I'd have liked more development, and some moments really didn't work.
"Heat of the Moment"
During a heat wave, a cafe owner overhears her crush and his Navy SEAL buddy talking about how vanilla she is, so she invites them to have a threesome. That's the whole plot. The threesome was fine, though personally, I'd prefer one where the dudes also interacted but it's fine. However, from an emotional perspective, I didn't get why these two were into each other and, for having a mutual crush for a year, they didn't really seem that friendly or familiar. There were also a couple of lines that made me cringe.
"Heat of Passion"
Of the three, this was the one I liked the best. Carson, the third in the threesome from the first story, hooks up with a girl at the bachelor/ette party and then decides he's ready for relationships rather than meaningless hookups. When he spots her at the wedding, he pursues a relationship, but she wants a fling. There's actual relationship development and a bit of a plot here. While I'm down with an erotica amount of sex, I still need to feel that emotional connection.
"Heat of the Storm"
Bleh. This one reminded me of Nora Roberts a little bit because suddenly there's paranormal out of nowhere. Friends to lovers, where he's been wanting her for ages and she has but can't admit it, really doesn't work for me in a short story. The fact that she can see the future and knows they'll hook up before they do adds a weird predestined element to it too, like she has no choice. Even worse, when she's still afraid of commitment, he pretends he has a new girl to make her jealous. I don't mind a little "make em jealous" scheme in a YA or with someone you don't know that well, but that's some immature, awful shit to do to your long-time best friend.
Talk about three quick steamy sizzling novellas rolled into one that will definitely leave you hot and bothered.
Three hot as sin seals. Three quick but erotically pleasing romances that will bring your arousal up to an all time high.
Elle Kennedy brings the heat and you will find yourself thinking you might have too many clothes on. I mean hot dayummm.
Book 1 had me seriously coming undone. Book 2 had me falling for a determined seal who was ready to for a relationship. Book 3 was a best friends to lovers romance that had me smiling from ear to ear.
Bottom line if you are wanting hot as fuck romances you get the trifecta with this set of novellas.
2.5 stelle!
Amo Elle Kennedy e le sue storie (vi consiglio di leggere Il contratto, che è MERAVIGLIOSO), ma questa sfortunatamente per me è no.
Il libro è l'insieme di tre piccole storie (sono praticamente novelle) con personaggi originali e ammetto di preferire novelle con personaggi già conosciuti a cui si aggiungono particolari per comprenderli meglio, ma ho comunque voluto dare una possibilità a tutto perché, come ho detto prima, amo la scrittrice.
Il grande problema per me è proprio la caratterizzazione dei personaggi che è totalmente assente, non conosciamo niente del loro passato o del loro presente, questo con l'aggiunta di comportamenti che ha me non piacciono per niente mi hanno portato a dover dare un voto negativo al libro.
Anche se è uno dei primi lavori della Kennedy si vede che sa scrivere, infatti le storie prese così sono carine e travolgenti, ma dovendo considerare tutto l'insieme non posso salvarlo.
3 Perfectly Fine Novellas
✔️ Six POVs (2 per novella)
✔️ Set in California
✔️ Open-door contemporary romance (5/5 🌶️)
These are all fine novellas, but Elle Kennedy’s regular-length books in this series aren’t too much longer, but the extra length is needed to warm up to the characters.
2-3.3
I'm not here to discuss the first 2 books, because they were decent. Fun and fast. With clear intention for it being primarily focused on smut.
But the last book is were I draw the line. How are you all okay with him kissing Holly.
Yes Holly.
The same Holly who is dating Carson.
The Holly who called Will hot, because if I was Carson this would be a bit sus.
My heart.
Because not only did he kiss her, but he grabbed her butt and got a hard on(despite him saying it was from Mac looking at him, if your boy told you this would you believe him, cause I would definitely NOT). Even tho that made me livid, I thought hey he could redeem himself.
And he did not.
When seeing her cry, instead of comforting her fully and properly conversing. Cause what he done was not only wrong to her but to Carson (dude disrespected his relationship with his girlfriend).
I see the attempt here on perhaps turning it into angry sex, and trying to amp up the tension.
PLUS I understand this books appeal, is not emotional deapth
BUT WHY, it could be that I though he was going to be my favioute, but he goes and kisses another girl. Which is very childish, it's not hot getting emotionally played with. Its arguable that it's not that deep, but I cannot deal with a man who cuts to intercouse without addressing the issue.
Absolutely not.
Just no.
When she's clearly upset (I know be was too, but that doesn't excuse his behaviours) you don't grabs her boobs, after just kissing another women to make her jealous.
Mac honestly women, from her perspective he hasn't even said anything! he didn't even tell Holly she was taken and she was only there to make her jealous until after intercourse. All he said was don't worry about her.
Nah man.
I'm so mad at Will.
I get she was in denial but there is plenty of other ways to get around this, instead of kissing Holly.
I don't appreciate Holly's comment either women you have a boyfriend.
This does not sit well with me, because honestly if we didn't get his side of the story then this would of been clear red flags even if they've been friends for 15 years.
But the ending was cute I will give you that, pretty funny too.
Holy Smokes!!! You want a quick, hot, sensual, steamy, stories!! This is the book for you! Hot and Bothered by Elle Kennedy is no joke . In this book you get books one through three --short stories of the men of the Out of Uniform series. Remind you that these stories have been previously released as single books and are now put together in one book, with no story changes just minor editing changes.
Besides all the "hot and bothered" ness you also get three lives of the navy seals at their best, or worst. Three very different stories, three very different, did I say HOT, situations that they find themselves in, three very different Alpha males. BUT not only do you get the Alpha males in these stories, you get the match of the Alpha female that does not make it easy on them.
First up is Heat of the Moment. Shelby has had eyes for John for over a year, but has no idea how he is not interested. On a chance night she over hears John's conversation with another seal and decides to take matters into her own hands or maybe the hands of two men!!. Things are off to the races from there.
Next up is Heat of Passion. Holly feels life is getting out of control. There is just too much going on at once. But one night with a hot seal? That's a life changer.
Last is Heat of the Storm Will has had eyes for his best friend Mackenzie for over 15 years. When an opportunity presents itself, he grabs her by the waist and doesn't make it easy for her to getaway.
The chemistry on the pages just jumps right off and drags you into their lives. By the end you are wishing this group of friends was yours.
Very well written, captivating and can't wait to read the next one!!!
OVERALL:
3 stars — I think these were just too short for me, and so I just couldn’t get into them. *shrugs* Oh well.
HEAT OF THE MOMENT:
3 stars — This was a solid leaning-more-towards-erotica short story until I hit the ending. Then I grew angry at Garrett’s insensitive overreaction, and annoyed that Shelby was the one that apologized (and Garrett’s was an afterthought). Not cool in my book.
HEAT OF PASSION:
4 stars — I enjoyed this one more…it felt like we got a bit more than just the sex in this one…which made me more interested in the sex. Carson and Holly were just fun.
HEAT OF THE STORM:
3 stars — I couldn’t get into the initial steamy scene, because it was so sudden and abrupt. I don’t know why some erotica works better for me than others. I’m also not a fan of the psychic thing, and I wasn’t huge on the games played.
A series about a navy seals who aren’t afraid to share.
Heat of the moment-massive miscommunication issues where both Shelby and Garret think they have been friendzoned. Shelby overhears Carson telling Garrett she’s probably vanilla in bed because of her sweet girl next door vibe. She decided to seduce both me to show Garret she’s more than he expected.
Heat of passion-Cason meets Holly at Garrett’s bachelor party where they have a hot one night stand. A month later he runs into her at the wedding. She wants to have a fun fling but he is ready for a serious relationship.
Heat of the storm- Mackenzie and Will are best friends. Mackenzie has visions of the future that always cause men to leave her. She doesn’t want to risk losing Will so she won’t give them a chance.
The main issue is how short they are. You always want more. These go in order of my favorite and spice level. I didn’t care for the visions in the third story. Not my thing.
Overall ⭐️⭐️⭐️
As anticipated, these novellas are comprised mostly of smut with some pepperings of plot and character/relationship conflict. I think my favorite was the last one featuring Will and Mackenzie because 1) I’m a perpetual sucker for best-friends-to-lovers. 2) The psychic element was unexpected.
This was a lovely and light, enjoyably predictable read, which I both needed and wanted after finishing the heavily languaged epic, Les Miserables. If you’re looking for something simmery, sexy, and straightforward in all its “hot and bothered” suggestive glory, this one’s for you.
I didn't realize that this was gonna be 3 50 page stories so I only read the first. Rough start getting dropped right in the middle of inner sex thoughts isn't a great way to start a story. Setting up a threesome when the love story is just a couple, especially in so short a book didn't do it any favors. There's this big blow up out of nowhere. The hero was completely irrational but she apologizes then it's see ya when I get back from my mission and the story just ends. Very awkward
Why each book was a flop:
Heat of The Moment:
All three novellas have almost no plot-this one had the least.
The worst kind of insta-love.
Heat of Passion:
The male audio narrator should be severely punished for his attempt at doing a female voice.
HORRIBLE.
Heat of The Storm:
SHE CAN SEE THE FUTURE.
No other explanation needed.
These are novellas, so I understand that there is only so much plot that can be added before it turns into a full on book, but Elle sure made space for miscommunication break-ups in each short story.
Came with no expectations but ended up having a blast. I can’t seem to rate novellas over 4, so 3 stars it’s quite good for me.
I personally think the best one of as the first novella, such a great short story.
But they were all pretty fun and smut with much plot but well rounded!
Totally recommend for palet cleanser!
Wowwwww. Talk about full on Alfa's...These men don't joke around, as they are navy seals, not even when it comes down to their women! This one book is actually three stories of three different character, their lives as navy seals and the women that change everything.
