D.R. Perry writes primarily in Revealed World. These are open UF YA Academy books with diverse characters and cute magical critters. She lives with her spouse, child, and dog in Rhode Island.
This is one geeky author who loves writing for the sense of adventure and wonder. In her books, you’ll find real characters, fantastic worlds, and a handful each of humor and hope.
D.R. hopes you have as much fun reading her books as she did writing them.
Review of Providence Paranormal College Part One: Books 1-5 (Providence Paranormal Box Sets) by D.R. Perry

Providence paranormal college books 1-5 This was a very interesting and mind blowing story to begin! I fell in love with the characters from the start. I would recommend this book to anyone! I am left thirsty for the knowledge of what is to happen next!
This is a great fantasy series. A large cast of wonderful characters and twisty plots combined with conflicting faerie courts and all the rules and regulations that govern magical, fae, physic, and shifter individuals. Truly a great set I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone. I can’t wait till the next installment.
A very well put together series that allows the reader to watch how the characters grow together to become a pack. A bit different to other paranormal books but in a good way. Can’t wait to read the next collection in this series.
I was pleasantly surprised by this storyline! When I got this book I figured it would probably be another juiced up fairytale type story. Instead it turned into a very good story and a whole lot of fun! I liked the way the friendships took time to form and grow. It kept me reading until I was at the end and wanting more. Seriously, I want more soon! LOL 😂🤣🤣
This is a great ensemble series. Each novel tells the tale of a set of fated mates and the danger they have to travel through to cement their relationship. Most of the stories are really solid, well fleshed out and entertaining. The short stories and little snippets of background and are also quite fun. Overall, I recommend this series if you are looking for a funny, slightly nerdy, clean paranormal romance series with a varied cast of characters and great world building.
I picked up a YA book/series to read when working at a flea market, because I knew there would be lots of interruptions and I didn't want to get lost in the story. This series really surprised me. The characters are more complex and the plot more complicated than I usually find in an academy book. I enjoyed the diversity of characters. I recommend this series!
(First thing’s first: I wrote up individual reviews of all five of the books in this collection as I went along, mainly so I could keep everything straight in my head as I wandered into this world for the first time. Although there is a fair amount of repetition from one review to another, I would check those out on Goodreads for my individual reactions to each book separately — this review is going to be a reaction to the series as a whole up until book 5.)
My overall impression of this series? It’s a fun, quick read. These are paranormal romances where the romance itself is a foregone conclusion. There’s no angst about when or if these characters are going to get together. There isn’t even any real anticipation: you know it’s going to happen, and, once it does, you know it will move a bit of the meta-plot forward.
And there is a meta-plot. There is something going on in this world. It may be happening at this college like a Scooby-Doo mystery, but it is also leaking out into the rest of the world. It is dangerous and compelling, and somehow, these hpplily-ever-after couples are a part of it. It keeps you going from one book to the next.
As an added bonus in this collection, D.R. Perry has included a handful of short stories — more like flash fiction, really — that flesh out these characters a tiny bit. They serve more as character sketches than short stories, but they are interesting, fun addons.
My original impression, developed during book 1 &2 — kind of a “Buffy and the original gang go to college...without the slaying and everyone has abilities but are more angsty about grades than they are about their own "special skills”” kinda vibe mixed with what I have mentally dubbed “the Sweet Valley High thang” — held up all the way through the first five books included in this collection.
Will I continue with this series? Yes. Am I interested in seeing where it goes? Yes. In the end, that is all that really matters.
Full disclosure: I read this collection as an ARC agreement, which means, in a nutshell, I received a free copy in exchange for a fair and honest review.
First up, I have to say I'm not sure I fully grasped all the different magics in the story. Shifters, fae, vampires, magi, psychics, combos of both...I admit I got lost a lot of the time because there wasnt a pattern to who got what that I could ascertain. That said, I could still appreciate the storyline beneath it all, even if I couldn't fully grasp the extent of it all. I did agree with Tony, however, that for all their good intentions, the pack didn't exactly 'do' a lot to track down the big bad. I have my suspicions. Guess I'll read the next book and see if I'm right.
When I started the first book in this collection I wasn't sure how far I would get with it. I am not a big fan of ya stories and Lynn and Bobby were freshman in college. Then the paranormal stuff started to be introduced and we met Henry. He is a vampire who has to go to school to keep the job he has been doing for sixty years. Now I am hooked.
As I continued reading, the complexity of the saga drew me under its spell and kept me enthralled. Yes, that little play on words was intended. Random bits like this, as well as pop culture references pepper this collection. Everything from the Wizard of Oz to Harry Potter, and various other obscure - and not so obscure - references, were fair game to this motley collection of geeks. That alone made this a fun read. Add in interesting characters as well as a story with lots of excitement, twists, and turns and I found myself unable to put it down.
But wait! There is more! I am off to get the next collection. This story has more to tell.
The PPC series is a lot of fun, with good plots and engaging characters. Each book builds on the previous one as an evolving group of paranormal friends face magical attacks while navigating the challenges of college. This set has the first five of the books, and then has short stories which provide some extra history bridging between.
This was a behemoth of a collection! About 600 pages, I think. Overall, I was pulled in by the stories and the characters. At times, I felt that certain plot points were not explained well or a bit hazy, but I couldn't stop reading. I believe there is more in this series and I'm hoping to get my hands on them to see where these characters go.
The characters are eccentric and fun - just the kind of people I would have loved to attend university with. I started reading and only put the book down because of necessary interruptions (i.e. work and sleep - meals were negotiable). I am looking forward to PPC Omnibus 2!!
Totally enjoyable books that make you happy that you read all of them. Different type of genre for me, but appreciated being introduced to this author and the amazing stories.
Don't know why there aren't more reviews. Paranormal romance isn't my normal thing , but this book held my interest. Excellent writing , worth reading.

I absolutely loved 🥰 this series! I was hooked on the first few pages. Every book flows together with each of the different story line with out being the same story. Each has its own set of difficulties and struggles. I love ❤️ the fact that each book there is a love match, but it is well mixed with the discovery that is taking place to solve the overall mystery. There is plenty of snark, sarcasm, and humor you would expect from college-aged characters, as well as a ton of pop-culture references.
I found my self staying up way to late just to finish a chapter or finish a book! I cant wait to read the next series. Definitely recommend this book 📖.
I gave this book five stars because I loved it. The humor in this book was right down my alley. The banter among the Tin Hats was so real. And the suspense kept me turning the page. Thanks to the author.
Yes it's college romance but the plot has me twisting n turning with the timey-wimey'ness of it all. I haven't figured out who is who yet and usually I am a quick study
Loved this series, but am thinking I should have read this before The Academy HS book. Lots of great characters, tense moments, romance, etc. set in an extrahuman college setting. I highly recommend this.
I really enjoy this style of writing. Showing the different aspects of the multiple characters is quite interesting and entertaining. I'm looking forward to the next series.
Well written series that keeps your interest going the entire read. Keeps you guessing. The people are interesting and keep you involved in the story. Love that is was different from many of the other books I’ve read. Don’t mis out. Looking forward to the next series.
This seems more of the bones of the stories. They are interesting but the pacing is off and it feels under developed. Couldn’t connect to the characters.
