*From New York Times Bestselling author Addison Moore come three novels of psychological suspense * The First Wife’s Secret
When a supposed serial killer and a supposed psychopath come together, things end very very badly—one bloody body at a time. Someone is guilty. Someone is lying. Someone will not survive.
Aubree Van Lullen is smitten by Peter Woodley despite the fact he’s accused of killing his former wife, despite the fact he’s accused of killing his two children.
Peter Woodley is smitten by Aubree Van Lullen despite the fact she is accused of fleecing half of the country by way of faking an illness for the better part of her life, despite the fact she’s had a psychologically damaging childhood. Peter is so smitten by Aubree, he changes his identity for her and whisks her away to build a brand new life.
One day a mysterious package arrives containing dozens of journals from Peter’s first wife, and Aubree is riveted by them. She’ll tell Peter about the journals soon enough. Just one more page and then he can have them.
And then there are the bodies. One after another, wherever Peter seems to go, a grisly homicide takes place. Something is amiss. Aubree untangles one dark secret after another, only to have her own past come back to haunt her.
But it’s far from the end of her story. It’s just the horrible beginning. Sometimes when a supposed serial killer and a supposed psychopath come together, things can end very very badly. And they do—one bloody body at a time.

The little girl said she lived at the end of the street but the only thing Allison and James find at the end of the cul-de-sac is the gaping mouth of the forest. Sorry, but this is terrible !! I read 6% of the first story in the set and jacked it in. In places it seems like English possibly isn't this author's first language as the phrasing and wording is most peculiar. She wrote about an insert someone had made in their diary, where I'd have used the word entry, she writes this line, "...perhaps she's right, but my nerves are jangled from the body" which just means nothing and nor does the phrase "and she seizes".....then the line "She cited she was waiting for a friend"....they just read like very strange words to be using. This line, "No offense, but I proverbially gave at the office" also baffled me and again with "Bearing their footprint over the top of the stove sits three blood red cast iron pots." Huh ???? There were quite a lot of spelling mistakes as well.....basic stuff...writing bear and not bare, in and not an, hurdling not hurtling and pouring and not poring. I reached the line, "Her name was Erika Melon," (who was a hooker) and pretty much called it a day. It was just all too daft and strange for me.
When I saw 'boxed set' I thought 'series ' . I didn't read any blurb, so was surprised when the books didn't link. Especially when the finale of the first book was weak. I loved the well written witty writing, the plot, the characterisation but was disappointed by the ending. I felt it didn't sit right with what had come before. It almost felt like the author had had enough of the story and wanted to get it finished. The same thing happened with the second story. I loved it until the disappointing ending. The third book was different. I enjoyed it almost from the beginning right until the end. (I didn't read the fourth short story as I wanted to leave the series on a high).
My review is for the first 2 books. Third is nmg. 1)Exciting and unusual plot and twists, characters were complete for their role, some really weird stuff going on until you come to grips with who is stalking who - it took some time for this to become clear but it was fun (and scary) getting there. 2)I never guessed the culprit in this one until there was no one else to blame. What a pleasant experience for the reader. I just loved it and the story as well. Unusual plot to be sure... 3)Not rating as it’s really not my genre. I hope you like it if you read it. This author, to say the least, is unusually talented.
Wow! A set of three psychological thrillers guaranteed to keep you in the edge of your seat turning the pages as fast as you can. Each story is well written with fantastic twists and turns. Each story is dark and terrifying in their own way. A great read, maybe keep the lights on!
The First Wife's Secret, Deadly Detour, and Little Girl Lost are all good novels. I preferred the first then second and lastly the third. Three is a combined rating. All were well written and difficult to put down. The third was just a little "out there" for me.
From the beginning, there lives were touched on all sides by abnormal. Really bad things going wrong. Some of their own making, but underneath a current of madness and treachery. Don't read if you are alone, and it's a dark and. Stormy night.
I only liked the 3d book- Little Girl Lost. I was that close to dropping it, because of the paranormal element, but I felt such a pull to go through with it. And I don't regret having devoted time to it. interesting plot, good characters, fast pace of the action, and a great end.
It wasn’t ever scary but I think each book was very interesting and told a fantastic story. Losing Regan to an Native American curse. Or losing your spouse but did you really? Great read!
I burned through these three books. Each story had a very satisfying ending, as well as some really good plot twists. Read them for a great triple treat!
I've read other psychological thrillers but this one was so completely "off the wall" I wondered why I read through them. Curiosity, I would guess. Anyway for those of you who believe in curses and ghosts, you'll probably enjoy it. I totally believe God's Word that the dead are dead!
