the true concept of a short story.
while the translation available was a little wonky, the feelings of thr author were still very much present.
is it a perfect format and writing style? no, not even close if we're being honest.
there were gaps in the story and quite frankly the ending felt abruptly cut off. the author however stayed with her initial choice to make it a short story and I can respect her for it.
the concept of a loyal shadow guard who follows his sickly master might seem as a cliche, but it's a cliche you don't actually see written out that much. add into that the aspects of the past, present and future and you will get a lovely cute story about two people in love.
all in all I give this story a 3.5/5, if the author has ever decided to write a longer more fleshed out version of this short story then it easily could be boosted to a 4.5, however with the gaps in between and the lack of dept to the side characters I will have it at a lower score for now.

Que linda historia, es un 3.5.
Esta es una historia para disfrutar en una tarde, tranquila. Que si bien tiene momentos tristes, no lo sientes como un vacío emocional (a mi parecer), porque sabes que al final, todo estará bien.
Light, dulce y fugaz es como yo describiría esta pequeña novela.. Necesito mas sobre sus vidas 😐.

Jakoś to przeczytałam, ale nie... Zdecydowanie nie polecam. Już nie chodzi o to, że to jest zła historia, tylko dziwna, pełna nielogicznych sytuacji, będąca bardziej "opowiadaniem", a nie pokazywaniem, na dodatek pełna dziur fabularnych, niejasności, nielogiczności. Jeśli ktoś chce to tylko czytać ze względu na tag "BL", ok, krótkie, da się przeczytać, ale raczej pozostawi niesmak, aniżeli satysfakcję

This book was incredibly sweet and cute in the first half, and all over the place in the second half. If I had to solely rate the latter half of the book, I’d probably give it a one star or less.

personally, I'm not a big fan of how this was written/translated and I guess overall, that just impacted my reading experience?😭 It was cute at times, but there were just some weird moments here and there that made me pause especially with the fujoshis part of it all TT

Rating: 4/5 - Such a beautiful and heartwarming romance.
This story is excellent if you want to get your mind off things and submerge yourself in pure and wholesome love. It’s not incredibly detailed or plot heavy, think very linear and simple storytelling.
The relationship between ML and MC is so wonderful and sweet. This story made me feel all warm and cosy inside. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a sweet and soothing read without any drama or drawn out plot points.
Just note that it is a short story and therefore many things aren’t excessively elaborated and instead left for you to assume. Which isn’t necessarily a bad thing with regards to this book.
The ending is a little out there... it was quite unnecessary, but let the author do what they want... and just read it to keep your daily word count going.

The couple was sweet and I enjoyed the first half of the book greatly! Though I lost interest a little after they travel back to modern times, it could be my preference for wuxia and historical novels. It felt like some random plot points were thrown in for little reason at all and nothing ended up coming from it. And then at the end, the 'big twist' was very random and then it ends abruptly, and once again, nothing comes from it. It was ok, like I said, I very much enjoyed the first half and the characters are sweet. It's a very quick read so I don't feel disappointed or like it was a waste of time.
