The Montgomery Ink: Boulder series concludes with a fake relationship where the heat and emotional connection are anything but false.
The moment Madison McClard’s parents tell her that her ex is getting married, there’s no getting out of their latest scheme. One moment she’s trying to get out of their clutches. The next, they’re telling her exactly who she’ll marry to save the family name. The one thing her parents don’t count on, however: Aaron Montgomery.
Aaron Montgomery didn’t mean to lie. Still, as soon as he overheard Madison’s dilemma, the words fell out of his mouth. Now, he’s fake engaged to a woman he barely knows, who also happens to be his new brother-in-law’s cousin.
As the deception mounts, so does the attraction. They told themselves it was only a ruse, but as feelings ramp and dangers surge, this Montgomery may have just met his match.

I couldn't wait to get my hands on Aaron's story, want to know why...because he's a man that reads romance novels! YES, I absolutely love that about him, and let me tell you it helped him on more than one occasion in this story.
Aaron and Madison were great together. Their friendship was a solid foundation to their relationship and their kinky side made things in the bedroom very interesting!
This is the fourth of the Boulder Series but can be read as a standalone because each story focuses on one couple. This is about Aaron and Madison who find themselves in a fake engagement suddenly because it seemed like the perfect solution to a problem. However once it’s created Aaron and Madison aren’t sure what they are going to do now, they are friends they always have supported each other but anything more wasn’t part of the plan. Aaron is the romance reader of the Montgomery’s and helps dish advice based off of things he’s came across from his readings however he’s clueless on how to fix the situation they face. Aaron also is an upcoming artist that makes glasswork his work is poetic and beautiful. Madison owns her own bakery called Sin in a cup, that is flourishing and people love it. However her parents are another story she’s never good enough, she can’t do anything right in their eyes that is until she snags a Montgomery. * Overall, I loved Aaron and Madison this is a feel good love story that has you rooting for the couple to turn something fake into something real. You’ll root for Madison to find the courage to do what she needs. There is a HEA as the author always gives us. I love the Montgomery’s the spinoffs are amazing as the original series. I’m looking forward to reading more of the Montgomery’s.
Aaron Montgomery didn’t mean to tell the lie when he jumped in to rescue his friend from a conversation he overheard, but suddenly he found himself telling her parents she couldn’t marry the guy they had brought along because Madison had already agreed to marry him.
Madison McClard just wanted to please her family and keep from drawing attention to herself. But her parent’s latest scheme is a bridge too far when she learns they expect her to marry a man they have chosen for her. When Aaron jumps in to save her, she knows it is only a temporary reprieve as there is no way her parents will believe the farce unless they work very hard.
What started as a way to save her from an awkward conversation quickly forces her to face the attraction that has been building as they find a way to get out of the lies. But though the lie included an engagement, Madison and Aaron quickly find the attraction 2-sided and growing.
This was a cute fake engagement story with an added element of the arranged marriage in the background. Madison didn’t like disappointing her family, and her parents have some pretty extreme expectations, but this time she couldn’t reconcile how she could make them happy and keep herself happy as well.
Aaron is a bit of a white knight in this story. He jumped in without thinking because he liked Madison and couldn’t imagine her parents would really go through with the arranged marriage. But he also knew enough about her family to wonder if this might be the thing that breaks Madison and makes her follow her family’s dictates.
There were moments where I wished the story would slow down, and a few wild hairs that felt a little too far fetched for the story, but overall it was thoroughly entertaining. The Montgomery series always feel like a comfortable return and good solid family saga reads.
Seduced in Ink is the fourth in Carrie Ann Ryan's Montgomery Ink: Boulder series, and fifteenth or sixteenth in the overall Montgomery Ink series. While it stands alone just fine, you'll likely want to dive into previous books and enjoy the warm sense of family and kinship Ms Ryan's created.
Seduced in Ink is a friends/fake engagement story featuring Aaron Montgomery and Madison McClard. Aaron and Madison's friendship began years ago as their friends/family spent time together and they also did by extension. But when Aaron overhears Madison's parents attempting to strongarm her into an arranged marriage with someone they deem appropriately suitable, he cannot stop himself from stepping in and pre-empting them with news of their engagement. Granted, he probably should have actually asked Madison first, but the rescuer in him couldn't stand idly by while he knew she needed him to act.
Seduced in Ink is in part incredibly painful to read at times because Ms Ryan's descriptions of Madison's sometimes toxic parents and their treatment of her seem to so accurately reflect abusive behavior and victims' all too understandable reactions. What is truly lovely is to see Madison recognize her need to change her own response to her parents, and to see her take steps to put an end to that incredibly damaging way of interacting. While Aaron is fully supportive of Madison and aches to act on her behalf, she is the one who drives that change, and she is the one to determine how and when and what.
Aaron and Madison don't have the easiest path to a happy ending given that their romantic connection starts off with a lie. Both have to clarify what exactly is true in their relationship, in their feelings, and in their hearts. And they have to navigate this individually, together, and for public consumption ;)
Ms Ryan does a terrific job with Madison and Aaron and their families, and Seduced in Ink is an excellent addition to the Montgomery Ink: Boulder stories!

Seduced in Ink is the amazing conclusion to the Montgomery Ink: Boulder series. Even though it stands perfectly fine on its own, I'm not sure why anyone wouldn't want to read the entire Montgomery Ink series from start to finish. I love the interweaving of characters throughout her stories and across the various series!
This was a great fake fiance, friends to lovers story with the perfect blend of angst, family drama, emotions, and steam. Aaron and Madison shared a connection as friends and I loved watching them explore their relationship as lovers. Excellent addition to the series!
Seduced In Ink was an absolute perfect name for Madison and Aaron’s story. It was seduction in its entirety. Their story drew you into a world that felt like a story within a story. It held me captive to the words and the pages and had me feeling as if I was standing within reaching distance of the characters. Their personalities made a mark, their emotions could be felt and the love that ignited between these two was felt soul deep. It was passionate, frustrating, emotional, steamy and enchanting. A story that you not only read but experienced with your heart. Madison and Aaron were characters that you not only loved but connected with instantly.
This came at the right time in that I needed to get deep into something thanks to the outside. This though will be the last in this one so I savored every bit of it. Madison has a bit of drama with the family with them telling her who to marry. Humm wonder what year they are in (joking lol) Then there is Aaron whom they think is her now fiance. Fun trouble when you go and say one thing but it is really another. Lies do have a way of spiraling and causing havoc. Staying and seeing how this plays out is a must with this being just the distraction I sure did need.
I loved Aaron and Madison! This was a very enjoyable fake engagement story. I love the Montgomery family and am always excited to read another story in the series. Aaron and Madison have great chemistry together and this book has all of the feels.
Plot: Madison's mother is difficult, to say the least, and when Aaron overhears her mom berating her yet again, he steps in and claims to be her fiance. Now playacting a fake engagement, the two of them are dealing not only with Madison's mother, but with an aggressively persistent suitor as well as their own strong feelings for each other.
Commentary: This was really a 2.5 for me. It was predictable and receptive and I absolutely hated the fact that there was no explanation or consequence for the parents' actions. Her mother and father were awful and there was never any good reason. Just "they used to be good and now they're not." No good reason, no good excuse, no good apology. So the entire reason for the plot was never explained, essentially.
It was a pleasure to meet Lincoln's cousin, Madison McClard in SATED IN INK and getting to know her more in EMBRACED IN INK. She's a great addition to the extented Montgomery's circle.
When her parents told her that they'd found someone to marry her married in order to save their family's name. Well this time she wasn't going to let them dictate her life, she wanted to stand up to them but she was caught off-guard. Her sexy as sin Adonis friend Aaron Montgomery stepped up. Her parents never cared about what she thought or needed, it has always been about them and their needs.
Aaron Montgomery, Liam, Ethan and Bristol's brother was the calm one, romantic one in their family. He always kept to himself but when he heard about his new brother-in-law Lincoln's cousin (Madison) situation. He couldn't resist the urge to help her out. Only he kind of complicated things for his friend.
Now they were fake engaged, his family was a part of the plan to help Madison out, no matter what. As they spent more time together, things between them started to feel real. They were both attracted to each other but they didn't want to mess up their friendship.
When Madison's parents carelessness nearly cause her her life, there a shift in all their relation including the one she had with Aaron. The lovebirds had a lot to figure and they did just that with the help of their loved ones. It was a pleasure to catch up with some old friends and meet new ones. Especially the two Fort Collins Montgomerys, Annabelle and Benjamin.
SEDUCED IN INK is the fourth installment in Carrie Ann Ryan's MONTGOMERY INK: BOULDER series. What a fun, intoxicating, beautiful and exhilarating ride. Carrie Ann Ryan did a mind-blowing job! 5🌟🌟🌟🌟
****I received this book, without any obligation to review.****

A wonderful fake boyfriend romance, or well, fake fiancé. I’ve really enjoyed reading Madison and Aaron’s story. It had all the emotion, character growth, and romance I’d hoped for. Madison is treated more than a little shabbily, often cruelly even, by her parents, and she has trouble standing up for herself. It’s not easy to go against your parents, and when her mother takes her cruelty and controlling behavior to the next level, Aaron intercedes and poses as Madison’s fake fiancé to help get some of the pressure of her. Lies tend to complicate matters, of course, even well-intentioned ones, and as Aaron and Madison get thrown together more, it gets more and more difficult to sort out what is real between them and what isn’t. Aaron and Madison have great chemistry and appreciate each other for who they really are. I loved them together! I also loved how playful and sensual they are and how caring. Aaron can get protective and a little jealous, which is understandable given the uncertainty about where they stand. Communication is key, as he should now, what with all the romance novels he reads. Loved that about Aaron! Madison is a strong character, if not in as obvious a way as other more outspoken characters in the series, but in her capacity for love and forgiveness. She learns to stand up for herself more, which was awesome, and I was so happy with how things eventually evolved between her and her parents. Apart from the wonderful romance and great character development, there is also some suspense and danger thrown in, upping the tension levels and emotional intensity of the story even more. Unexpected twist there, loved it. Loved this entire story.
For the audiobook: Teddy Hamilton did a good job with his performance of this story. This was a very engaging listen, and I liked the voices he did for both Madison and Aaron.
First Impression? Ok, so we have another book where friends have to pretend to be getting married, to prevent some horrible thing from happening. Just like every other friends to lovers book out there, right? Nope. I should have known better! This author is one of my go to authors for a reason. She takes an over done trope, and makes it into a fantastic story that completely takes me by surprise! I've gotta say, I'm always glad I picked up and read one of her books. And this one is no exception!
Madison is a confusing character. At times, she is so strong, such an amazingly brave woman, but at others, she is timid and afraid. She has a horrific home life, but also such sweet memories of a better time. And Aaron! He is absolutely loyal, giving, and perfect for Madison! Together, the gave us a story that was both sweet, and funny! Add in a whole lotta drama, and a little bit of danger, and this author has another winner on her hands! I couldn't help but laugh at times, and feel sad at others. There was also a healthy bit of "what the heck?!?" and just a dash of "Oh no, she didn't!!!" Let's just say, my emotions and thought ran the gamut reading this book, and I've fallen in love with yet another set of Montgomerys!
Aaron is a Montgomery, his brother is Ethan, He is a glass blower. Madison McClard is a cousin to Lincoln who is with Ethan and Holland. She owns a cafe and does the baking. Lincoln is having an art show and Madison's parents show up with a man she will be marrying. Madison says No, but her Mother calls her fat, and tells her no man will want her without the promise of money. Aaron overhears and announces that they are actually engaged. Lincoln goes along with it to keep up with her parents. They date, her Mother basically forces them to go on a weekend vacation with them. They reluctantly go, and Guy,the guy her Mom wanted to set her up with is there. A huge storm comes through, and Guy, forces Madison with him, he needs her money and he will force her to marry him to get it. She gets hurt, and so does her Mom who tries to rescue her, Aaron saves them, and gets them inside. He breaks it off, and tells her to go be with her parents while her Mom recovers. After talking to Ethan and Lincoln he goes to see Madison, and she agrees to be his girlfriend and date him. The epilogue features some cheese and some interesting family news, and the futures of more books. Up next is a new spinoff of Fort Collins Montgomerys Anabelle and Benjamin.
I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.
Seduced in Ink is the fourth book in the Montgomery Ink Series: Boulder by Carrie Ann Ryan. This book follows the Montgomery Family but focused on the family that lives in Boulder. Madison McClard is making her own way forward. Her parents are less than flexible and quite demeaning to her. She has found avoiding them the safest way to go and to continue to work on her shop, Sin in a Cup. It is flourishing and she is quite proud of her success.
One of her best friends is Aaron Montgomery. He is an up and coming artist - a glassblower. Her parents surprised her at an art opening for a cousin and introduced her to her soon-to-be husband. Needless to say Madison is quite shocked that her parents had chosen a husband for her. Luckily Aaron was right there and to disabuse them of their plans, because he said Madison was his fiance. Too bad that wasn’t true, but he was determined to make her parents back off. Too bad they both have feelings for each other and they are pretending to be a couple!
I enjoyed this novel. I loved how both Aaron and Madison are together and how Aaron is determined to save her. Madison’s mother is certainly an interesting character, who is eminently unlikable. I don’t know how long Carrie Ann Ryan can keep writing about the Montgomery Family, but I will keep reading them. Seduced in Ink by Carrie Ann Ryan was a fun, hot read.
I really loved this couple and their story but when you add the cheese obsession and her cupcakes into this, it is even better. Seriously though, this was a great story. I liked their friendship and when her mother went off about Madison and brought Guy into the situation, here comes Aaron to save the day. I did appreciate that when Aaron made his announcement that Lincoln went right along with it, like it was known when in actuality it wasn’t but that’s what family does, and I love the Montgomery family and their friends who’ve become family, who are supportive no matter what. I must say the line about her parents being ‘passively-aggressively evil’, spot on, especially her mother. Guy was crazy and not in a good way. I knew when they were invited to the lodge, it was not going to be a good thing and it was not. However, in a way it was a turning point for Madison and her family and hopefully they can keep up the new attitude and outlook on life, we will see. One of my favorite lines in this story is, ‘Said the serpent to eve’. Great story and the ending was spot on.
This book starts out as all good books do, with a craving for cheese! I mean, what else can you expect from a Montgomery Ink book, but no, really, this book combines friends to lovers, which this branch of the Montgomery cult, uh, clan, does extremely well (except for Liam, but then again, he was first, and didn’t realize his younger siblings would all fall off script, little brats) and a fake engagement. Dearest Aaron, reader of romance novels, advice giver on all things romantic, has been hiding his attraction and breaking all the tenants of romance, for Madison. Madison, quiet rebel, peace keeper, and co-reader of romance novels, falls into the same trap. You can’t see what is right in front of you when it is you involved. Of course these two have fun, of course these two know each other, and of course these two fall in love. While the bad guy *snicker* was never in doubt, and the inevitable trip to the hospital was a forgone conclusion, the how, where, why, and who were changed up. The last of the Boulder Montgomery’s has their HEA, and onto Fort Collins next!
This is Madison and Aaron's book and it was a good read. Madison's family is set on getting her married and have taken the liberties of finding a man for her. Let's just say her mother is one of the most despicable characters I have ever read and secretly cheered on more then one occasion for a house to fall on her!
Aaron who hears Madison about to be betrothed to a stranger, steps in and pretends to be her "fiance". And that is where this story takes off. Madison cant believe he did that and is torn. Torn because she is actually attracted to Aaron and wonders how they will pull this off or why he did that.
This was a cute book watching these two fall harder and harder for each other while trying to keep up their charade because neither one lets on they like each other. Madison's mother makes for a truly hateful character and she needed to go...although there is a twist concerning her. I loved seeing these two navigate the facade they have created and fighting their feeling for each other. Not to mention, some steamy sexy scenes! Great read and addition to this series.
I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, pain, secrets, and heartbreak.
If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first Wrapped in Ink (Montgomery Ink: Boulder #1) Sated in Ink (Montgomery Ink: Boulder #2) Embraced in Ink (Montgomery Ink: Boulder #3) Moments in Ink (Montgomery Ink: Boulder, #3.5)
This is Madison and Aaron’s story. One overheard conversion has Aaron offering up himself to save her. But was starts out as a fake engagement is turning into so much more. Can they figure out if it’s all pretend or are they really out for a forever? One small lie turns into so much more. But can a lie lead them to true love? Or will her family still be looking for a better option?
I loved these characters and the side characters. I felt I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read.
Although Madison is more used to disappointing her parents then making them happy but her relationship with them is about to reach a crossroads. After being publicly criticized and then being told they had arranged a marriage for her Madison is struggling how to put an end to the situation when Aaron becomes her knight in shining armour and tells her parents that they are engaged.
Aaron isn’t about to let anyone run roughshod over his friend and that includes her parents. It won’t be that difficult to pretend to be engaged as he enjoys spending time with her as they are already friends. What he didn’t expect was the chemistry between them to ignite or the danger that Madison found herself would rock both their worlds and nothing would ever be the same again.
Everyone except for Aaron and Madison knew that they were destined to be more than friends and their friends and family are determined that they will realize it as well.
Book 4 in Montgomery Ink Boulder by Carrie Ann Ryan. Book narrated by Teddy Hamilton Madison is Lincoln cousin and see each other as brother and sister. Madison doesn’t have a great relationship with her mother. Maeve Madison’s mother is awful and tries to sort Madison love life by setting her up with a guy called Guy her future husband. Aaron sees what’s happening and pretends to be her fiancé to stop her mother control her life. This gets really complicated and Aaron and Madison start the relationship with clear boundaries but very quickly they struggled to keep a clear line. Absolutely loved this book especially with it having Lincoln family and Montgomery’s all together. My only flaw was have one narrator even though Teddy Hamilton did a fabulous job it would have been nice to have a female doing Madison part.
I really enjoyed getting to know Aaron. We had glimpses of him in the other stories and in Moments in Ink, however this gave us a up close view. He was trying to rescue Madison without letting on that he had more feelings than friends. Madison would not let herself hope that Aaron liked her more than to help her out of a no win situation. They had so much chemistry that it flew off the page. Her big "brother " Lincoln is watching to make sure Madison doesn't get hurt however I think the men know Aaron wants more. Yo9u have to love this family as they rally around this couple and how they also help the "fake" relationship along. This is a great conclusion to the Boulder clan of the Montgomery's.
This fake engagement had to be subliminal suggestion, because these two belong together. We get hints that they have spent time together as friends for a while and were attracted to each other but felt they couldn’t date because of their close relations. In this character driven love story Aaron and Madison’s POVs take us through their hopes, fears, and some HOT sexy feelings. Madison has been going through some bad times with her family but she finds out if you stand up for yourself and stick with it you just might get what you want most in life. A sweet understanding man for a partner and an HEA to live for.
This book was in my opinion, everything a "fake relationship/fiancé" romance should be. Madison and Aaron were complex, well crafted characters that were easy to relate to and feel for, the chemistry simmered just under the surface of every single interaction the couple shared and the deep unspoken emotions perfumed the air like lilacs on a warm spring breeze. You can expect to catch a major case of the feels as the fun and emotional story progresses. Heart, humor, poignancy, sweetness, friendship, drama, heat, and both the blessing or the curse that family can be, have starring roles in this amazing read. I loved it! This is my independent, impartial review.
I adored the chemistry that was Aaron and Madison. I had seen glimpses in the previous Montgomery Ink Boulder book and knew that they would be amazing if they got together. Through all the ups and downs with family, work and their own doubts this was one of my favorite couples. I knew that the instant protective instinct that Aaron had for Madison would make for some challenging situations with Madison's family. They were so great to read about and I hope to see glimpses of them in future Boulder books.
What a great conclusion to the Boulder Montgomerys. We got to see old friends, meet some new ones and had a wonderful time watching Aaron and Madison find their way to each other. I loved how Aaron was teased about reading romance novels and how his cousins were always there for him. He had always liked Madison, but had never acted on it. When he stepped in to protect her from her mother, things just kept going. Excellent read. Loved it I got this book from the author for an honest review
Seduced In Ink was a fun yet emotional fake fiancé story. Aaron was amazing, and possibly my favorite Montgomery so far. Madison was alright, she was likable, but quite a pushover and that did not appeal to me. In the end she was much better. I am very much looking forward to seeing where this world takes us next.
This was a fun fake relationship. I love how Aaron was just trying to help but secretly did like Madison more. Their attraction is explosive and I enjoyed getting to see them explore their feelings under the guise of a fake relationship until they couldn't deny it anymore.
