Agent E wasn’t always an evil Sigma Agent. Even though evil had her claws in him, he couldn’t help but hang onto his past and watch over the family he lost, protecting them by staying dead to them. Until one night, he interfered.
When Ana Esposito’s life, and that of her son, was saved by the husband she had buried over a decade ago, she found her world irrevocably changed. Any chance of safety for her and her son lay with the hardened man that used to be the love of her life.
Marie Johnston is an award-winning, best-selling paranormal and contemporary romance writer. She grew up in the upper Midwest and planned to go to college for English. Didn't happen. She started college in accounting and was awful! Grabbing her inner science geek by the pocket protector, she changed to microbiology and medical technology where her only writing involved scientific articles and procedures. Eventually, she left full-time work for full-time baby raising but kept thinking, "one day, I'd like to write a book." Finally, before any more time passed, Marie decided to buckle down and write. She loves it!
Now who didn't see a 5 star coming for this one? Ha! You'd be delusion if you thought otherwise.
*sigh* Damn, that was amazing, wonderful, suspenseful, and just effing great. Loved E and Ana. I'd been impatiently waiting for E's story since he showed up with the crazy and enigmatic X. Both of whom weren't quite what they seemed.
Ten years ago, E had to make a decision: fight and probably die or become a monster to protect his wife. Guess which one he chose? And yet, he still kept his core of humanity even with all that he witnessed and the death he caused. My heart broke for him, especially when he knew his wife was with another. Not all that surprising since he'd apparently died ten years ago.
And Ana... major girl crush on her. Smart with a cool head. Sure, she was freaked out to find out vampires and werewolves existed, but when it came to protecting her kid, she was deadly. Though understandably upset over her not-actually-dead husband's actions for the past ten years, she didn't guilt him for it.
A shame Madame G wasn't happy over losing one of her prize agents. That vile, evil bitch.
If you haven't been reading this series, why the hell not? Now excuse me while I stalk the author until I get my hands on X's story. She's up next. *fangirl squeal*
Another great addition to this series. Has you cheering for Agent E when he is able to reunite with his wife and son - both of whom think he has been dead for 10 years. Worth the read.
So I really enjoyed this book, so much meshing with the characters.
I was a little worried it would be all E with little anyone else... I was so happy to find out I was wrong but I would have preferred a little more shifter in there...
Ana and Julio Jr... Are so cute together and E honestly he's just the same only not... They are so cute together... And i suspected Garret... Such a tool.
This one was definitely more of a leader books for the next one (the last one 😲😱😰) I'm not sure I'm ready for it...
The interactions between Agent X and Rhys are kinda my favourite parts... Other than X saving E constantly lol
I liked the whole Dani and E interaction which there could have been more of but I get why not.
It was nice to see Irina again however short her appearance... I'd definitely like to see her interacting more with the others
This one definitely set it up for the next book (Agent X and Rhys's book) and the epilogue... So much... Mystery... The insider? So intriguing... The Seer... Wonder how that will pan out... Will we finally know Madame G's secret begin her power? But there has to be a happy ending... Right?
Also Mercury's power was brought up again (conviently) seriously how can he create wind? That makes no sense!!!
This romance shifter novel can be read as a stand alone, also I think you`ll enjoy it more when you start with book one (Fever Claim) of this series. The love story is self-contained, but the background story builds up from book to book. Agent E`s story gives the reader a deeper insight into the Sigma organization and into the world of the Guardians. It will be action packed and brutal.
I'm glad Agent E got his wife and son back. I never would have expected his wife's fiancee to be another agent. Madame G needs to get what's coming to her for all her evil and atrocities she is committing.
On the edge of us wear great read love everything about this installment of this series x being an agent worth sharing and I see her being saved looking forward to book 5
So far this is my favorite of the series. It had the right amount of romance, action, intrigue, good character development. I loved E and Ana and little Julio. I liked that we also got the core characters from previous books.
Loved watching how Agent E and Guardians all came together to save his family. You always know in the books something else is going on with E but now you the truth. I loved it.
Book 4 in the series and it didn't disappoint! This centres around Agent E and his quest to save his wife Ana and his son Julio from the clutches of Madame G.
Julio learns his father is 'alive' when he saves Julio from an attempt on his life but does as Agent E asks and keeps him a secret. Ana soon learns of Agent E's existence when two of Madame G's agents are waiting inside her house and she shoots them and flees with Julio. Intending to meet up with her fiancé, they get to the meeting point where she comes face to face with E. After witnessing him kill and then burn her fiancé, E takes them and flees to the Guardian's Lodge where Ana learns that shifters, vampires and things that go bump in the night are all real. Whilst Ana struggles to take it all in, Julio in a typical 10 year's old style, thinks that the new paranormal world he finds himself in is..... cool!
After the Guardians agree to help them escape and whilst they are treking through the forest, they find themselves captured by agents sent by Madame G. Three days later, Agent X helps them escape again and Agent E finds that his family are not exactly how he remembered them before their capture.
The book leads on nicely to Agent X and Rhys' story and I'm fully expecting it to be explosive.
Talk about family drama...Agent E, also affectionately known as "Biggie", will do everything in his power to save his family. The wife, Ana, who thought him dead for ten years and the son, Julio, he never knew. Strange bedfellows in this one with Agents E and X working with, wait for it...The Guardians! Albeit a fragile alliance, Madam G is going down but who will take her down? Madam G's complex is under attack and it is the final countdown 'cause something's gotta give. The editing is still not great but the energy of the story has allowed me to keep reading the series. Humorously entertaining. Gotta love Agent X! Sigma's doctors don't fair very well in this series as there is yet another job opening for a mad doctor at Madam G's place. On my Were (Enhanced) Scale of Hotness, 4 stars.
I enjoyed this book but I wish I had started with book one, it was definitely book four of the series. The author was kind enough to give me this book to review (hence why I started with it) and the story was good, writing solid I just felt like I was constantly trying to figure things out (why does this guy have this power) instead of truly enjoying it. That being said Ana and E were kick ass leads and Julio was cute so if you read the series you shouldn't be disappointed. I'm really curious to learn more about X as well, hoping to update this once I can read the whole series.
Bottom line, not a great stand alone but I have a feeling this is a series I'll follow.
Keeping this short, I'm so glad I purchased this book! An absolute page turner! I really enjoyed reading Agent E's story.
Pros: I'll say it again. Great story. Enough said.
Cons: A few grammatical errors. Plus, I really wanted to hear more about (spoiler alert) Irena's release and how Demetrius played into that. We got nothing but Demetrius wanting to talk to Rhys and then he'd tell him where she could be found. I was a little disappointed that I didn't get to see any of there interactions either.
All in all though it was a great book and I can't wait to read the next one.
I felt a little lost in this book because it is book 4. I have not read the rest of the books. But I enjoyed the story and the characters. It was full of love. This book was a little different which I also enjoyed. * I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review*
Enjoyed this installment of series. Still some editing errors but still worth the price. Love seeing how this series has revolved with the "bad agents " turning the table on the evil MADAM G . Can't wait to see how agent X , hopefully kicks some Madam G butt.
If these books stay like they are I hope they never stop!!!!!! I can't put them down. I love how they each lead into the next but they are still all about different people from different angles!
Wow, another amazing book in a great series!!!!!! I am shocked that there are so few reviews. The story is entrancing, the sex senses... oh so sinful, must read series.... in order
Great installment, sucked in from the first page. Heart-breaking to see Agent E's past, but awesome how he gets a chance to get a little of his own back at Madame G.
Good world building and great new characters. While the threat from the villains continues, it feels as though the heroes are gaining ground as the series goes by.
