Broken hearts take a long time to heal.
The only thing that helped me get over the worst breakup ever was building a greenhouse with my grandfather this summer. It’s my legacy. It’s proof that I can move on from something that almost destroyed me.
I know it sounds silly, but building that greenhouse gave me the confidence to start dating again. When I meet Gavin Voss, I can’t help but fall for him. He knows what it’s like to have problems outside of high school. He gets me, and he wouldn’t hurt me.
And then my greenhouse gets vandalized and it feels like my heart has been crushed all over again. I can’t explain it, but I have a weird feeling that Gavin is hiding something from me.
I think he knows who vandalized my greenhouse.
But I never expect that he’s the one who did it.

So sweet

In This Moment is an "ahhh" inspiring tale. Clarissa is trying to reconnect with her grandmother's memory and spend time with an ailing grandfather. Gavin is trying to deal with a rough home life. Their lives intertwine in a less than fantastic way. Through the whole book a reader roots for the happy ending even when it doesn't feel like an inevitably. Amy Sparling has a writing style that draws you in and leaves you sad to leave at the end. Brava, Ms. Sparkling! Another great book I will be coming back to.

Cheerworthy characters

I really liked these characters; they were easy to see how they ticked and why they made the choices they did. Their flaws helped me cheer them on. Rated pg13 for lots of language.

I really liked this book. I wish TJ would have been caught as well and wasn’t such a jerk to Gavin. I also wish we got to find out if Gavin’s dad actually got better. I really liked the development of Clarissa and Gavin’s relationship.

Over too soon!!

I am loving the In Plain Sight series! Gavin and Clarissa's story is right up there with Maddie and Colby as favorite characters.

This was chosen for a book club I am in with one of my nieces, and while it wasn't a title I may have picked, it was a cute story and an easy read.
