We lit the match. Now we can't stop the mating flame.

The world hasn't seen the likes of me.

My power can unmake the gods and the worlds--but only after I mate with the Demigod of Sea and activate the Living Flame inside me.

Mate all day and all night long.

Peachy right?

If only we weren't trapped in the Void where no gods, demons, or mortals are safe. The monsters here? They eat immortals like us as if we're candy. It's hard to have sexy times when we're fending off Titans, cannibals, nasty Ares, and that loose cannon Lucifer.

Furthermore, if we don't return home before the apocalypse, Earth will turn to dust. Our only option is to let the heat of the mating fever blaze, war zone or not, and make it burn everything in its wake.

Magic Flame is the final installment in the Half-Blood Academy series, a reverse harem and enemies-to-lovers romance starring four handsome, cruel, yet overprotective demigods and a badass heroine. For fans of Twilight, Vampire Academy, and The Hunger Games.

The dialogue was atrocious. It was equivalent to grunts and body sounds. Which is sad, since the 1st book had some great and hilarious dialogue. The over use of the term of endearments was tedious. So was the lack of character development for the mates. It would have been nice to see the group becoming more harmonious. I really didn’t like how Zak seemed to be treated like an after thought by the MC.

The timing and pacing was off. The constant battles with no rests at all is unrealistic even for fantasy.

The most positive thing I can say is that the series is finished.

2 skip the sex scenes stars 🥱
Unpopular opinion: Not the end of the series but my least favorite. I lost interest towards the end. I would’ve liked more time in hell academy.

Hold on tight because the wild ride isn't over yet. There are new dangers, new characters, new battles, new abilities, and new discoveries for Mari and her men. There is also the added benefit of the relationships between Mari and her men are finally smoothing themselves out.
One of my favorite things about Meg's books is the way that she combines humor with the action. There is always something going on that makes me giggle. An example of this is her use of cute nicknames given to her kick-a** female characters. Another example is her character's tendencies to get distracted. Then there are the moments of humor in the battle scenes. Meg's mastery of this makes her characters more real and relatable. Her characters have all the insecurities and doubts, and the way they each deal with it is 100% believable. I'm a little sad about reaching the end of this fabulous journey, but I'm excited to see where Meg will take us next. I'm also happy to know that there will be more in store for Meri and her men.

Interesting

I have really enjoyed this series. The only ‘issue’ I truly had was the Paxton doesn’t get much of a role in Marigolds sex life. I felt like he was neglected a lot and I was sadly heartbroken waiting for his chance to shine.

Other than that, I loved how Meg wrapped up the series. I enjoy that it’s left in a way that many spin off series could occur. I think this is a great read.

What a terrible end for a terrible series.. honestly I’m starting to wonder if I’m a masochist, because there’s no way I intentionally made myself read FIVE books in this series!

The plot was the only thing keeping me going, and it turned out to be kinda shitty.

The romance? Horrific. There was basically no romance. It was a giant fk fest throughout the whole series, the sex was often initiated out of necessity, and she obviously had favourites, which is a fuck no for me in a Why Choose.

The dialogue was cringy. The author kept making them switch from old time almost Shakespearian language, to super modern, and it was giving me whiplash.

The FMC felt so immature in the way she spoke, with saying things like “my super awesome power” like a five year old, to asking people to call her Icy Dagger… and that wasn’t a joke. Demons and witches in hell were calling her…Icy Dagger. Can we be so for real rn please 🙏🏼

The way she kept acquiring random powers everywhere she went made no sense.

And why the fuck did her hellhound randomly abandon her to stay with her mom?! I think the really pushed me over the edge!

I think if I had a genie who granted me 3 wishes, I would definitely ask to have back the time o wasted reading this monstrosity

Well, it was an ending. Sometimes I blame myself for reading too fast because I'm excited, but this ending seems a little less than satisfying. Some of the language throughout the books gave me such a big ick that I almost put them down. Seriously how many times did I read the word "milked"?? Too many that's for sure.

Overall, these books were pretty good, and I am very happy to see there is another series set in this universe (which I almost read first by accident, lucky me my friend told me to read these). The fact that some of the wrap ups were basically just explained like "you had the be there to see it" is not my style, but at least we got the answers instead of plot holes.

Would reread the first two, and maybe the fourth book. If I do I'll leave a tally for how many times I see any variation of "milk".

I am going to miss the series. They have really gone to Hell and back to be together.

There is lots of action and adventure as they work together to stay alive long enough to get home.

This final book reveals so much more about her abilities and the demigods get to meet her parents. Her mom is not your usual mother-in-law.

I am looking forward to the new series.

I am voluntarily reviewing a copy I received.

A Fantastic Read!!!!

What an ending this was to the series. It is full of action, drama, suspense, and has sexy hot scenes. It will grab you by the collar and keep you completely engaged. It is a story that makes you laugh and get angry right along with the characters. We see Marigold grow so dramatically in this story. It is well written and has amazing descriptions. It is a must read series that will not disappoint!!!!!

What a ride! I’ve been following this series since the beginning and it just kept getting better and better! This may have been the most interesting and unpredictable book yet. I loved every moment and couldn’t put it down until I finished. A beautiful end to a lovely series! Bravo!

WOW! What an action pack conclusion to one of my absolute favorite series from Meg Xuemei X. Seriously, from beginning to end you'll be holding your breath and white knuckling your kindle as Marigold and her Demigods navigate through the void, meet the parents & fight to stay alive. I feel like so much happens in this one and I was NOT ready for this series to end. Seriously, so so good!

Last book in the series and it ended epically. I was sad it was over. I still have questions though. How can it be done?? I didn’t want it to be over. It ended too fast. I loved this series. I keep hoping for mire from Marigold and get guys. I can hope yes?

Love any paranormal book with a strong female lead. I, personally, can pass on the RH but Marigold kept me reading the series.

The entire series keeps building up to the epic conclusion. Mari and her demigods are committed and loyal to each other as evident by the situations they find themselves in.

Phenomenal read

This has been an amazing series from start to finish. A good plot and fantastic characters. The action is never ending to keep those pages turning. I would have liked an epilogue but it sounds like there will be more after this series. This is a must read series and I cannot give it enough praise.

I held out hope that this book would get better but it never did.

The most powerful being in the galaxy wasn’t that powerful
Let Circe treat her like crap simply because she wasn’t grown up
Didn’t seem to care about Lucifer- didn’t resolve much at all
Character was crazier at the beginning of the books, even though the author keeps trying to push the narrative that the gods are crazy and unpredictable
Author tried to add sex scenes to spice things up but they were honestly revolting at times, especially the dialogue
Seriously, what is it about authors not using developmental editors? YOU NEED ONE.

This is the last book in the series. Now that Marigold has somewhat dealt with Ares and Lucifer, she still has left the original gods and the titans, but luckily she can count on her parents help. A lot of things happened that didn't make sense to me, and some of the action wasn't told but only described thereafter to explain the solution of a new problem.

My biggest problems were overwhelming roaring and too mutch porn.
Marigold and her crew is in the Void, battling enemies and trying to get back to Earth. Her crew constantly whips out their dicks and are only able to talk in short, uncomplicated sentences about her pussy,fucking,licking,tasting,fucking,fucking,fucking...you get the drill. They constantly have sex and I started to skip over all of those scenes, which resulted in very short and annoying read. Oh,and someone is roaring. Like all the times,be it Marigold herself, her harem or their enemies. Nobody is talking anymore.

I also had a huge problem of mixing up,confusing and reinventing existing religions and lores. Tartarus is not Hades realm, but a person. Greek gods are heavenly forces, but also not as archangels get mentioned, Titans are imprisoned, regular sized dudes with no powers and supposedly have logical thinking(or not, cause they still side with their kiddos),God of Heaven don't exist, just angels having disagreement and so on . I love Greek and Roman gods and their tales and I really had a problem for author borrowing names and changing facts and myths. Creativity is one thing, but if you don't want to stick to the original tales, invent your own names and gods and nobody will have problem with it.

Even ending was disappointing. I don't think it is a spoiler,if I say book ends with pages and pages of descriptive porn. Like I didn't had to suffer through enough of that already.

As a cherry,I think I should mention something that actually stood out in this book. At some point there is a sex scene where demigod can't have full access to Princess or touch her,so they have to do "dont put more than two inches in" which results in explosive orgasm for Mari. Imagine that! I think it was the only scene where I laughed out loud.

Is it worth reading this book? In my opinion no. It adds nothing to series, just makes the whole story a disappointing joke.

Well....that was not what I was expecting. I had high hopes for this book. I started read reading RH only about 10 months ago, and when I started this series about seven months back, it was immediate hit with me. The fourth book of this released what, three or four months ago? Suddenly, one of my favourite series' doesn't seem so great. *Sigh*

So the last book ended with Marigold and her mates getting sucked into the void. This one started right where it left off. It's about how she and her mates escape the void and defeat their enemies.

I really couldn't connect with this book. It just didn't click with me. I don't know why even though I really wanted to enjoy it. Maybe I didn't like the setting? But one thing was very clear to me.

Marigold's men are effing tribal CAVEMEN. Don't get me wrong, I normally enjoy the trope but that is when a normally sweet, charming and level-headed guy is at his wits end and wants to claim is mate, not barbaric people who look like they would whip out their dicks at any second to measure them. Jeez. Nope. It doesn't work with me. Sooooo not my type. If it is yours, you'll probably love this book.

Lemme add a positive thing though. I kinda loved Lilith. A lot. She was badass. Way more than Marigold.

Oh!Oh! And I've got to say this. I forgot to mention it. It actually doesn't belong to this installment but it is mentioned a few times here so I'll say it anyway. 'ICY DAGGER' IS THE FUCKIN' DUMBEST NICKNAME A PERSON COULD EVER CHOOSE FOR THEMSELF. EVER. IT DOESN'T DESERVE TO EXIST. NOPE. Even my five-year-old kid brother has more creativity than her. Icy Dagger? Please. What a joke. Even Peter Parker's 'The Human Spider' was better.

I honestly can't remember another positive thing now. Is the FMC sprouting wings nice??😬😬

All I can say is give it a go. Who knows? Maybe you'll end up liking it.

Well i'm glad this series is over, but it wasn't worth continuing to see how it ended, as it was pretty disappointing from start to finish of the series..

By the end, I wasn't really a fan of any of the characters, so felt like a waste of time and definitely not worth paying money for. I do not recommend this series.

Not having read any of the early books in this series, the first few chapters made no sense. Eventually, some details are provided about the earlier story lines, but it took longer than usual for the story to come together. Overall, I found the character development, story and dialogue to be juvenile. Although I enjoy a number of YA authors, this one holds little appeal for an adult reader.

I am sad to see this series over, but super excited to get my hands on the spinoff once those are all on audiobook! I am intrigued to get Loki and his demon dukes' story. Overall this series was a solid 4 stars from me. I think this was actually my least favorite book of the 5 but I thought the plot was really good which helped keep it a 4 instead of a 3-3.5.

So in this final book we get to see what mysteries lie in the Void. I really liked how unpredictable it was, the creatures and monsters, and the reveal of the characters we have heard about but hadn't really met yet. I thought Lilith was pretty unhinged haha but she loved her daughter and would do anything to protect her/be there for her, even doing some crazy stuff. I loved Hyperion, I wanted more of him! I thought Tartarus gave some great levity, made me giggle. I was happy to see the gods get what they deserve and how whiney they were at the end haha, like shuuuush you are outmatched! I thought Mari was great, she handled things really well and I liked her strength and vulnerability in this one. I liked the guys but the one big thing that really hurt this story for me was they were focused on really on their "other head" if you know what I mean. They wanted to rescue her and save her, and only really used sexy times as reason to stay/why they wanted her. It was like the only thing on their mind. Mari even mentioned how they should want her because they love her, not for the intimate moments. I like having sexy scenes, don't get me wrong, but it felt like it was pushed really hard, trying to hit a mark maybe with other RH books, but for me it was forced and awkward and unnecessary. I think the other books did a good job with the balance but this one was way off the mark. So I give the plot a 5/5 and the relationships/characters a 3/5. I mean all of it could have been fixed if instead of focusing on screwing her, they mentioned how they loved her. It was a pretty simple solution. Oh and if Axel one more times said he was the first, he should get her, I was gonna throw my phone hahaha. Editing/paring down would have fixed that. I mean, we know how territorial he is, it just could have been done differently a couple of times instead of the same argument every time.

Narration I would give 4 stars. I still don't like the French accents and wish they had different narrators to do those or make them British like one of the books was, because the narrators did a great job there. I think the emotions from the side characters was fabulous (Lilith, Tartarus, the pathetic gods, Hyperion, etc.). I will be listening to both of these narrators again, just not their best when it came to Hector and Ares (from both of them).

Absolutely astonished! I’ve read every book as they’ve come out, and I’ll keep reading any series based off these characters as well. So this entire book is set in the void, a mysterious place that marigold has taken two assholes too the kill of hell and the little jerk war god. Her Mates of corse at her side, (side note: so rude that she couldn’t finish mating with pax in the last book) after tricking them into the void, they all are hunted by the monsters that live there, and now that hector is human he can easily get hurt. Which marigold believes happens, after he possibly was eaten by the monsters. She breaks down as they sit in a cave, thankfully hector isn’t dead since he’s human the monsters didn’t eat him! Honestly I’d have closed the book if he was truly gone and been pissed, I love hector and his sexy old school ways. They eventually escape, meet marigolds mom queen of the void, and of corse she tests all of marigolds men. Thankfully they pass her tests! Marigold realizes off her mom that she can grow wings, nice gorgeous blue ones. She protects her men, and realizes how much her mother truly loves her. They head to the prison and meet her father, who I absolutely love how he was written! She definitely took the time to make sure you can truly sense how much love marigolds parents have for her. Of corse marigolds world wouldn’t be complete without a bit of drama and fighting with the gods. They end up in the void checking on the prison, and pop in right when marigold is with her father. They end up in prison and marigolds fathers words ring in her head to light the flame. For two people in different cells, having sex, lighting her flame, was amazingly sexy. I can’t say enough how much I love this authors writing and descriptions of events. Especially the sexual escapades that’s they get into. She lights the flame, and they head out into the front and face off with the three major gods. Marigold just got the flame which will eventually make her more powerful then them, but alone with her mates will she be able too.?. I wont say how the books ends, it something you need to read and see through your own imagination. I throughly enjoyed this entire series and hope beyond hope this author continues into another stories with the same characters as she said she will at the end of the book! Excited to read whatever comes next and will grab the book up the day it comes out.

I have to say, I honestly struggled to finish this last book. There was so much repetition, sudden powers that show up to save the day, and some unanswered questions after everything that I'm just left here without closure. Add in the cringey sex scene at the end, and here we are.

I stuck with this series because I like the author and the story we had going on. Then we get to this book. It felt like it was all over the place. So much random crazy things happen that don't make sense, and then the end battle just suddenly is over with her awesome powers. The end.

What happened to Lucifer, really? Are we really just going to leave that hanging over everyone? It seems a little too convenient for him to just be missing, and that's it. I suppose he will be making an appearance in Loki's story, because why not?

The worst part was the super cringey sex going on at the end with everyone. I just skimmed over those pages. I couldn't do it.

I still feel like Marigold is an immature know-it-all loud mouth brat, along with her equally immature guys who just become insufferable about her. The nicknames were bad enough, but they just totally lose their own personalities at the end. There is a difference between being possessive and whatever the heck these guys were.

I did like the story overall until this last book. I just don't see myself reading these again.
