3.25 stars. It was nice seeing some classic art by Alan Davis. The story itself was cool, nothing too crazy. But I don’t know why they called this book Nightcrawler as he was not the main focus. Our team hits their old mansion to check on a disturbance only to run into something there. The story had a simple ending but at least another mutant was recovered.
Less a Nightcrawler story and more a Cypher story. I'm excited to see and the overall story was fun. Why isn't Eye-Boy's code name Argus?! Was that name already taken? Or was it too obvious? Maybe not obvious enough? I get not everyone is a Greek mythology nerd...

Well, this is a cracking little book, with lovely art by Alan Davis (although I would have liked to have seen him inked by someone else...like Mark Farmer...rather than inking himself). There's a suspicion that this story might have no future consequences, but I tend to think that we'll see the ramifications of the events played out in these pages somewhere down the line. I'm being deliberately vague to avoid spoilers. Oh, actually, there's DEFINITELY going to be some ramifications regarding one revelation within this issue...
Interesting premise and good (not great) artwork make for a good issue but it didn’t feel like a “Nightcrawler” issue, I would have called it Cypher but obviously that wouldn’t sell nearly as well. There’s an alert at the old abandoned mansion and a small team of low-level mutants, led by Nightcrawler, are sent to investigate (Illyana is the only one with some real offensive power on the team) Cypher ends up being the key to solving the mystery and the dilemma it presents.
Well it's to first time I have been that disappointed by a comic book ending, like a bad book ending, the comic was okay, I always liked Nightcrawler even if the comic don't often portrait him in a great way... anyway, the comic was good but a bit childish, and even more as it goes on, and the ending is even worse. I was expecting more!
This was fun, but it didn't have focus. It wasn't really about Nightcrawler either. He's there but other characters are much more important. But I guess Giant-Size Doug doesn't sound as cool.
The artwork in this issue is such a throwback to the 80s and 90s comic books, in a good way. I liked it. I really like the campy feel of Labyrinth (that 1980s movie with David Bowie) mixed with alien / sci-fi setting as well.
Not sure why this issue is named after Nightcrawler seeing as our favorite Fuzzy Elf barely gets the spotlight. I'm just glad he's sharing our attention with Illyana, Doug (Cypher), Lockheed, and Eye-boy. I'm already a fan of the first three, and the latter I just made the acquaintance today but I already like him.
Does the ending seem ominous to anyone else? Or is it just me?
Alan Davis' art is good but seems a bit outdated. I've seen much better art from him in the past.
The premise of a team of mutants going back to their old home, the Westchester mansion, which is now abandoned, overgrown with plants and haunted, is very interesting, but doesn't really deliver here.
Seems a bit like a filler issue that's setting up something for later.
Couldn't find any reason why this is called a "Nightcrawler" issue. He's part of it, but not the focus of this story. Had other expectations, considering he's been playing an important part in the other Dawn of X titles, as part of Krakoa's Silent Council.
When the other titles on dawn of x go on sale im going to catch up im missing out too much I feel. Still this was cool but meh not really necessary I suppose
Not really a Nightcrawler tale but still a good one. 🤔 wonder why Warlock is hiding? And Lady Mastermind is back!! Surprised they abandoned the school seems it could be used as a training ground of some sort. Especially with some of their tech still there.

This was a very old school X-Men comic. Alan Davis brought that flavor, and just everything about it yelled '80s. It was fun enough, but very inconsequential.
