“I’m simply programed to deliver forensic analysis. The facts surrounding death… what lesson anyone might draw from that information is entirely up to them.”

I honestly don't know how these issues keep surprising me but they do.

Not just surprising me but breaking my heart all over again with each new one that comes out. It's like I'll blink and suddenly something new has happened that I most definitely didn't see coming but will make perfect sense. It's a very satisfying feeling.

Vader's Anakin is starting to show here and that is probably the most devastating thing ever.

“… You will not desecrate this grave. So swear the Handmaidens of Amidala.”

I don't know why I keep missing whenever these issues come out, but it keeps happening.

Anyway, that cover is very promising and I can't wait to see how things progress in this whole mess that Vader is in.. especially because all the emotional bits are just what I love best.

Really good! The beginning had me worried for a moment with the big monster fight that wasn't necessary, but then we pick up the more emotional quest of Vader and this it what this series is about and good for in my opinion!

To a certain extent this comic is basically just getting us form the end of #3 to the start of #5, which seems an obvious thing to say, but what I mean is that nothing hugely significant happens and we don't really learn anything significant to the overall plot. Other than, you know, Darth Vader becomes the first person to kill a Sando Aqua Monster, proving that there truly is always a bigger fish.

The real meat of this is the people who show up, notably Ric Ollie and Eirtae, Rabe, Sache and Dorme. It just feels good to have the Prequel era so heavily referenced in a comic set during the Original Trilogy, and I love the fact that we're seeing the entire saga increasingly being seen as one story rather than discreet and separate time periods. There's been a tendency in the past to treat Vader and Anakin as wholly separate character when that's obviously not the case.

Of course, the question now remains...what's inside Padme's tomb, and I suspect that the answer's going to be heartbreaking, no matter what it is.

I am enjoying this series so much. It references so much and is a particularly great companion piece to EK Johnston's Padme novels. Also references a lot of prequel stuff which satisfies the child in me. Somehow, Darth Vader continues to be ripe for great storytelling.

I adore this storyline so so much. It breaks my heart while reading it and really gives you a look as a reader and Star Wars fan into Vader and what he goes through over Padme’s death. This one was not my favorite of the series though.

Though I loved the art of this again, it felt like the story didn’t progress a lot. It was more or less used as a bridge comic between the last and the next in this series.

I still recommend this series of comics if you love Star Wars. This does a great job of filling in some of the gaps in the Star Wars universe.

Review for the series: I think this is pretty interesting. I like the idea that Vader was a little shaken after the events of ESB and would have delved a bit more into Luke's background, especially how he was hidden from him for so long. It did start to lose me at the end, however, as it got more into the Emperor's secret plans (been there, done that, saw the movie), but I did really enjoy the writing and the artwork a lot. Clearly a lot of effort and heart was put into this series.

We see another familiar face from The Phantom Menace. There is also dialogue in a flashback to Attack of the Clones that I don't think lines up with what is said in the film. Perhaps Anakin's memories have been distorted? This storyline honestly feels like it could have been set closer to Revenge of the Sith. It's easy to forget that this takes place after The Empire Strikes Back.

Another fantastic and heart-breaking issue, we see Vader struggle to come to terms with the death of Padme as he tries to find out what truly happened to her.

I'm reading three different Star Wars comic series concurrently and Star Wars: Darth Vader is by far the best one. This issue was incredible. Just so so good. I am in awe.

Ties in nicely with Queen’s shadow. Without spoiling, having read that book adds to this comic and the character’s involved.

the only Romance that makes sense in Star Wars

It’s the best story line that makes the best sense for Vader. Good concise writing and amazing graphic artistry. Love this.
