Katharine Kincaid is the author of twenty-two historical romance novels and four novellas. Her books have been translated into multiple languages and sold around the world, even in such far-flung locations as Russia and China. A longtime Ohio resident, she now calls Hawaii home and enjoys spending time with children, grandchildren and her first great grandchild. Horses have been a lifelong passion. Katharine currently is owned and managed by a beautiful, much-spoiled Friesian horse who doesn’t yet have his own book but is working on it.

She has recently obtained the rights to all of her out-of-print books and selected titles will soon be released as updated versions with brand new covers in digital format.

The following five books are each set around the history of different breeds of horses and are among her most requested titles. They appeal to both historical romance readers and devotees of any and all fiction involving horses. Recently released as eBooks are:

Kathleen Montgomery and her Loyalist family, driven out by the rebellious colonies, relocate to the Bahamas where they barely scratch out a living. They turn to salvaging shipwrecks which is how Kate first rescues American Jonathan Irons. The two young people are just starting a romance when Jonathan is accidentally killed.

Jonathan's brother, Jonas, comes to the Bahamas to learn the whereabouts of his missing brother. In the meantime he also talks Kate into joining him in a shipbuilding business venture. Kate's family as well as their overseer, Edward, all conspire to keep the couple apart for fear she'll leave them behind.

Jonas wasn't such a bad hero of a HR and to be honest I felt he deserved better than Kate. She lies to him throughout most of the story, all in the name of protecting her family. Kate's parents are master manipulators and I could feel the frustration Jonas was going through as he continually tried to make Kate grow a backbone and stand up to her elders. It literally takes Kate just about the entire book for her to have the epiphany that not only is Edward a bad guy but being a slave is not all it's cracked up to be.
