After earning her English degree from Whitman College, she worked in travel and advertising before selling her first novel.

I'm not sure where I got this book but I was intrigued by the premise of twins being mistakenly separated at birth and adopted out to different families. When those families ended (through divorce and death) and the mistake was discovered, a decision was made to marry for the children's sake even though the couple had not fallen in love with each other. This book appears to be geared primarily towards an evangelical Christian audience. At times this made it feel less natural to me and more formulaic. It was ok and had a happy ending but I won't be looking for more like this.

I really enjoyed this book for the most part. Meg's struggle to put her failed marriage behind her and trust Jared was touching and sympathetic. The whole "our children are actually twins so we should get married" plot didn't seem too far-fetched given that the couple had known each other for years, been friends in high school, and secretly had feelings for each other. The interactions with the kids were wonderful, and I particularly liked Jared's grandmother as another secondary character.

What didn't work for me? Jared didn't really have any conflict to overcome, like Meg did. He was also a bit pushy about making their marriage "real" and never actually asked Meg what her first marriage was like, which would have helped him to understand where she was coming from. And as much as I rooted for them to fall in love, Meg's change of heart happened way too suddenly, and then the book was over. One week of a marriage of convenience and they're suddenly in love? I needed more time to pass for this to be believable.

As a side note, I'm finding the spiritual content in these older LI novels to be a bit too "in your face" and heavy-handed. I love authentic faith journeys, but I don't need the entire transcript of a bible study meeting and a magical "return to Jesus" moment in my romance novel. I definitely prefer the more subtle approach in the newer books.

That said, I'm intrigued by the mysteries surrounding the adoption clinic, so I may read more books from this mini-series at some point.

I have read ALMOST all of Jillian's books, but don't recall reading this one...I have read a lot/most of the books in 'The Tiny Blessings series', but don't recall raeding Meg and Jared's story. Just learning about them through the other 'Tiny Blessings' books. After they were alraedy a HAPPILY MARRIED couple. I LOVE Jillian's books, and this one was no exception. (LOVED IT!) I LOVED this 'Tiny Blessings' tale. Old High School nemisis, Jared Kierney and Meg Talbot both discover they've adopted identical twin boys, who were supposed to be adopted together. (To Meg.) But, one of the twins, Chance, went to Jared Kierney and his wife Vanessa, who died when Chance was a few months old. Meg meanwhile, was in a horrible marriage, to a verbally abusive husband who cheated on her, repeatedly, and wanted no part of being a father to their adopted son, Luke....

When Meg and Jared discover that their son's are actually twins who were seperated, (and shouldn't have been) Jared proposes (Literally proposes!0 A marriage of convenience. 'For the twins sake.' To bad Jared has real feelings for Meg. (Always has!) And Meg can't trust any man. Or a 'real marriage', after what her ex did to her.

VERY GOOD book! Jared is just an AWESOME, Christian husband and father. Loving to BOTH boys. Patient with Meg....I just LOVED HIM! :-) And Luke and Chance! That cover, awww! Could they be ANY stinkin' CUTER?!

I loved the idea of this book. It was pretty well paced, and interested me quite easily. However, I feel like much of the heroine's problem was her excuses, and she potentially could have damaged her relationship forever with Jared. I also think that when the time finally did come, it was just too rushed. She just basically changed her entire viewpoint all at once, and did things she never otherwise would have done. A miracle 180 in all of a few hours. She didn't budge an inch any other time. I think it would have been better if she had started to give in bit by bit, even if she tried to lie to herself that she wasn't doing it. All in all, it was a good book. I think it probably would have been better if it had been longer. I don't know. I felt the same way about another book I read that had the same problem. It was only the last 20 pages or so that the male protagonist in that novel ever even acknowledged his wife's existence in his life AS his wife.

Jillian Hart has created a wonderful story with characters that you want to know in real life. She is one of the very best at making the emotions of her main characters very upfront and vibrant, whether they are feelings of growing love for one another or almost paralyzing fear because of past experiences. Meg and Jared, and the twins, Luke and Chance, will capture your heart. Now I want to read some of the other books in this series to discover what really happened behind the scenes at the adoption agency in the past. If you enjoy marriage of convenience stories, this is a great one.

This is another one I thought I hadn't read before, but I had. This time through I felt like the heroine was hiding too much. For as long as she clung to her decision to not get involved, the change happened to abruptly at the end. The constant "ice" references also started to become a little repetitive instead of insightful and smart. I think I would have also liked to see a little conflict between the hero and heroine. Whenever she put up a wall, he was like, "Okay, well, I be here if and when you want to take that down." He never challenged her on anything.

This was a sweet little book. I think the twins were my favourite . . . I work with little ones of that age in my church's nursery, and thought that Luke and Chance were adorable. That's not to say that I didn't like Meg and Jared. I did think their storyline moved into 'bliss' a little too quickly though. But, that's neither here nor there I suppose.
I wasn't necessarily planning on reading the rest of this series, but they've gone and thrown a mystery at me, and I am just too darn curious so I have to see what happens next! *smile*

I was not expecting to like this book. It seemed too far-fetched but I like Jillian Hart's writing and books where people get married for something other than love but fall in love always intrigue me.

I enjoyed this book. It is far-fetched but the character development is strong enough that the story works in spite of this.

Meg and Jared's story keeps you wanting them to find happiness to the very end.

It truly is often the case of losing someone or almost losing them that you realize how much you love them.
