In a land ravaged by war and prejudice, Marie Lafayette met a man who became her destiny. Night Hawk was tender and courageous, and never asked her to defy the unspoken laws of her people. But as darkness fell, and their passions grew, Marie could only follow the demands of her body and soul! When Marie’s angry father confronted the lovers, Marie fled, believing it was Night Hawk’s wish. But Marie Lafayette carried the secret child of a man she couldn’t forget, a man whose heart beckoned her return. Would Marie brave her father’s wrath and fight for her love for Night Hawk...
Jillian Hart grew up on her family's homestead in Washington state, where she raised cattle, rode horses and scribbled stories in her spare time. After earning her English degree from Whitman College, she worked in travel and advertising before selling her first novel. When Jillian isn't working on her next story, she can be found puttering around her rose garden, curled up with a good book and spending quiet evenings at home with her family.
Night Hawk honors his family by staying on the land where they lived and are now buried. He falls in love with Marie who has come to teach school at her fathers fort. Although her father is a fair and just man with the whites and Indians alike, that only applies as long as it doesn't Include his daughter. When he finds her with child and learns that Night Hawk is the father, his wrath appears. This was a good story with great characters.
A really good short read if you're going to be on public transport or something for a couple of hours. The plot and romance moves quite fast but overall I quite enjoyed it.
