What happened to Rosa? Cassidy receives a strange demand from her often emotionally absent mother. The brilliant scientist is always in control, but this time, things seem different. Cassidy is about to find out just how different and how much danger she is in. And again, where is Rosa? What was she truly working on? So many questions, no answers, mayhem and a wild chase are about to make this librarian’s life a chaotic mess…and then there is Luke…

Amabel Daniels’s SEEK is a quirky, dangerous rapid-fire chase across the country for two strangers who find a special chemistry in the middle of what could be the mystery of a lifetime! Fun characters, especially Cassidy, whose inner dialogue is often priceless as she is thrown into danger and uncovers some secrets her mother has kept well-hidden. Too bad she isn’t the only one looking for what her mother has hidden.

Luke is a bad boy who really isn’t so bad, just a guy rushing in to be a knight in shining armor who is now in for the long haul!

I absolutely loved this one! Seems I just sat down and poof! It was finished and there I was dangling on the last word and craving the next installment!

I received a complimentary ARC edition from Amabel Daniels! This is my honest and voluntary review.

I knew going into this book that it was going to heavily focus on the suspense part of the story, so I expected that. I was definitely pulled into the story and on the edge of my seat to find out what was going on with Rosa and who was after Luke and Cassidy. The action starts in chapter one and keeps going until the last page. Honestly, when I got to the last page, I thought something glitched with my kindle because it just ended.

So, I knew that this was a series but I wasn't anticipating a cliffhanger. I mean, my bad...but OMG THAT CLIFF!!!!!!

I should have anticipated the cliffhanger because the further I got into the book, the more I wondered how the book would be wrapped up in the short time that was left in the book. I will say that the cliffhanger is great in the sense that it provides more time to build the relationship between Cassidy and Luke. I'm definitely intrigued by their relationship and would love to see how it builds and grows.

I definitely recommend this book and I can't wait to find out what happens next!

Seek is my first book from Amabel Daniels and it was such a great introduction to the author. I'm not sure what I was expecting when I read this book but it wasn't what I got. Daniels packed this book full of everything but it was absolutely perfect. She had the perfect amount of everything, suspense, romance, steam, action. I LOVE that fact she included Cincinnati in her book, as a person who lives in Cincinnati it was just a great thing to read.

Luke and Cassidy's story had me hooked from the very beginning. Every page literally had me on the edge of my seat needing more. Cassidy and Luke meeting completely by accident. When Cassidy's mother Rosa is taken and she receives a message she goes to her mother's apartment. While she is there Luke happens to be coming home and notices Rosa's door open. When he goes to check he sees Cassidy being attacked. Luke is not the kind of man to pretend he didn't see anything. When he decides to help her, he unknowingly puts himself in the middle of what is going on with Rosa and Cassidy. Now that both Luke and Cassidy are no longer safe they decide to figure out the mystery together. Their lives are both turned upside down and their attraction and connection during all of this crazy is amazing.

Amabel Daniels delivers this action packed book that is well written with amazing characters. Her plot was brought to life with her amazing writing style. The only thing I wish is that I would have known how many books were in this series before I read Seek and that brings me to the ending. That cliffhanger! Oh, man, what an ending. Daniels has left me needing more.

Slow starter but picks up

I had a hard time getting into this book. But I can't stick with it and it picked up And became somewhat exciting. It ends on a massive cliffhanger so be ready for that. There's some heat between the FMC and the guy but no steam yet. Overall a good story but not great. I didn't yearn to know what happened or if they'd get together. Maybe second book will be more on point.

Going into this story, I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect but the action did begin right from the start. Cassidy has received an unexpected letter from her adoptive mother, Rosa, to obtain a key from her place. She never expected to be met with danger upon entering her mother’s residence, nor did she except a hero with a criminal background. As she dodges trouble around every corner, trying to survive an unknown danger that her mother has unexpectedly put her in, her relationship with her hero continues to build.

Like has a dark past, but he also is Cassidy’s knight in shining armor at just the right time. He has the knowledge to help them escape out of harms way, while his feelings for her continue to spiral out of control. As they journey across the world fleeing every obstacle that is thrown their way, the excitement of their building feelings will leave you wanting more, and left with one heck of a cliffhanger.

The story was a interesting yet slow burn, even with the suspense starting right from the start. The character development was satisfying, yet lacked depth as their personalities were surface built, there could have been more history of who these two were and why. A quiet, lonely, bookstore manager and a hotheaded criminal that seems to always be in the wrong place at the right time just want enough development in my mind. Though I am intrigued by the plot and what Rosa is studying that I will more than likely continue with this story to see where it goes.

If you love a good mystery/thriller, suspense or intrigue book, then this is probably one (well this is book 1 of a 6 book series) you will want to pick up. I was drawn in by the characters and the plot from page 1 on. Cassidy goes to get something at her mom's apartment at her request, but is met with someone trying to choke her, her mom's neighbor Luke, comes to Cassidy's rescue, and oh what a dreamy guy Luke is. This starts them on an adventure and running for their lives. They need to trust each other and do even though they really don't know each other. Of course there is also some sexual tension with these two. How did the cop get out of the apartment? Why is he chasing them and trying to kill them? What is Rosa trying to tell Cassidy? Oh and Cassidy's landlord friend, Zero....he's a genius hacker and adds more to the story. I for sure was not ready for this one to end, and didn't realize it would end on a cliff hanger and those dreaded words to be continued. I need to read the next book now! Amabel Daniels you are killing it with this book/series, I can't wait to read the rest of it. Oh and Luke - you can come rescue me anytime you want!

Notting Hill to Mission Impossible overnight! Holy OMG!
Reader Beware: This story ends with a major cliffhanger. I recommend being ready to dive right into the next book.
I could NOT put this book down! There was never a dull moment from the very beginning right to the very end. I started it, turned the page, it was over, I was purchasing the next in the series. Seriously, it was that good!
Cassidy is adopted. She and her mother are not super close. As both women are very independent, when Cassidy receives a letter in the mail from her mother stating, “I need your help,” it scares her deep. This letter puts so many things into motion. She is almost strangled to death and Luke saves her! Oh, and Luke. What can I say about Luke. I am still trying to figure out what he did in his past life, but he is as chivalrous as they come. However, he is definitely atoning for something. These two have a chemistry that is super intense.
These two end up needing one another more than each of them care to like at the beginning but cannot stay away from each other. The constant facing of fears can be exhausting for these two but the spiking of their heartrates and anxiety is also met with the mellowing crash of realizing survival is possible.
Seek is action packed with a lot of suspense and danger. But things are just starting to heat up!

Seek, Project XOL Book #1 by Amabel Daniels
I received this book from the author.
I love a new type of book and to me this book sounded new and exciting. A mystery to find out about Rosa and what’s up.
Cassidy gets a weird letter with a weirder vibe from her distant, adoptive mom. When she goes to her apartment to get what her mom wants, she is attacked but soon saved by a hot stranger who happens to be Rosa’s neighbor.
Luke is wondering why Rosa’s door is open when he hears a struggle. Soon he is fighting for his and this strange lady’s life. They think they are ok and then end up on the run after an explosion rocks them.
While running they two soon start to discover a bit about the other while also trying to stay a bit distant because they don’t know if the other is involved in the attack.
As the two start to put pieces together they are even more lost as to who the other is…her with her secret Mr. Zero and him with his past life of “Murder” but they are still on the run trying to figure out what Rosa’s gotten them involved in!!

This author really snuck up on me. I have had the pleasure of reading a few of her books and realize no matter how long it's been I always wonder why I stayed away so long. Her books are riveting, her characters are flawed and they get themselves into the deepest nest of crap all in the name of something. This time she's hungering for the attention of a mother who while standoff and elusive has always been there even if from afar. She has no idea she's off and running smack dab into a nightmare of hellish proportions with no way out.

He is fresh out of jail and has his own demons riding his shirttails. All he wants is to be left alone and rebuild the life he's had to set aside when he comes to the rescue of his neighbor. Only she isn't his neighbor and they are in deep trouble. And that's just the first book. Because while they are off in a game of hide and seek this author has set us up for a journey and it comes out in pieces. There is much to discover and a number of books to read through to find the answer. The thing to know is Rosa needs to be found and these two are going to go through hell to find her. The question is will they make it?

4 stars for Seek:Project Xol by Amabel Daniels. I received an ARC of this book in exchange of an honest review. All opinions are my own. This is my first book from this author, but I can tell you it won’t be my last. I am going to start out by warning you that this book ends in a huge cliffhanger. I am on edge and I can’t wait for the next book to come out. The first thing that pulled me in was the hottie on the cover and then I read the blurb and I just had to read it. Cassidy hasn’t heard from her mother until she receives a letter , which has her worried. Then things become weird for her. Luke comes in and saves her. Ugh this man. I don’t even know what to say about Luke. Love how it isn’t just instant between Luke and Cassidy. It evolves as the story goes on. The best part of this evolving love story between them two is that it is going on while they are surrounded by danger. I am on the edge of my seat waiting for book two. This book is a must read in the romantic suspense genre. You will not be disappointed in it.

This is the first in what is bound to be a great series from Amabel Daniels. Already I'm ready for the next book in the series.
The story follows Cassidy Shaw and her quest to find what has happened to her adoptive mother Rosa. Rosa is a renowned scientist who has disappeared. When Cassidy receives a cryptic written message from her mother, she heads to Cincinnati to retrieve a key from her apartment. What Cassidy does not realize is trouble is already waiting for her.
Luke Dixon comes home to see his neighbor Rosa's door open and noises coming from inside. When he goes into look, he sees Cassidy be attacked by a stranger. With a history like his, he jumps into rescue Cassidy only to be now caught up in the mystery of both Cassidy and Rosa. No longer safe, the two set off to try and figure out more of the mystery.
Just when you start getting more into the story, it ends! Yes, there is a cliffhanger, but I think it will be well worth the read. I'm excited to keep going with this series.

I have read a few books by this author and loved the sound of this one and I wasn't disappointed it is a wonderful romantic suspense story that draws you in and has you turning pages as fast as you can

Cassidy Shaw doesn't have the greatest relationship with her mother but when she receives a letter from her with a weird vibe she knows something is wrong so she heads to her mothers home to see what is going on Once she arrives she is attacked and her mothers hot neighbour Luke Dixon comes to her rescue With danger now dogging the two of them they have to go on the run together and while the attraction between them is off the charts can they really trust one another You will have to read to see what the mystery of Rosa, Cassidy's mum is and is there any chance a future for Cassidy and Luke You will have to read to see

Cassidy's mother Rosa hasn't been the nurturing type of mother, but Cassidy starts wondering why she hasn't heard from her for a length of time, then she gets a weird demand from that seems off. So, she heads over to her mother's place, and things take a crazy turn after that. She ends up on the run with a stranger who she has some potent chemistry with, plus the danger which is chasing them, as Cassidy & Luke try to find out what happened to Cassidy's mother Rosa. Seek was a story which kept my heart rate up while the twists definitely had me dropping loud f-bomb after loud f-bomb. I LOVED this story so much, which is why I'm keeping this review short & sweet, as I don't want to give anymore detail away. All I want is for everyone to experience it for themselves so hit those one click buttons ASAP! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

This was an okay read of suspense and intrigue. Cassidy’s mother has gone missing, leaving only a cryptic letter for her to retrieve something. Unfortunately, Cassidy finds herself in the middle of a whole mess of trouble that she didn’t cause, she doesn’t understand, and she can’t seem to shake. To top it all off, the mysterious Luke shows up at the right time to save her, then joins Cassidy on their dangerous adventure. Along with the skills of a hacker friend, they’re led further down the path of “what the heck” as they search for answers. Who is Scott? Where is Rosa? What the heck just went boom?

Overall, this was an okay read. It does end on a cliffhanger, and I have to be honest...I don’t know if I care enough to find out what comes next. Maybe I’ll be more interested at some point, but not today.

This is an enjoyable read. A snarky introvert, Cassidy, has received a letter from her too busy professor adoptive mother to go and retrieve a key from her apartment and get some files. The dutiful daughter does this and is attacked in the apartment. Her mother’s ex con hunky neighbor, Luke, is on his way home and tries to save her and is hit with a cast iron skillet wielded by Cassidy by accident but she does whack the assailant up side the head and does serious damage. The bad guy has a cop badge and appears dead but disappears while they retrieve the key. Then things get wild. This book moves fast and has explosives, running, hiding, a caring landlord/hacker, a trip to New York, a motorcycle ride, a motorcycle gang, a dye job, salamanders, drama, suspense and developing feelings. This book ends in a cliffhanger and be prepared to get the next one! I’m headed there now...

Good story kept me on the edge of my seat. Cassidy hasn't seen or heard from her mother Rosa in months. Out of the blue a letter from her mother arrives asking her to retrieve a key from her apartment. And it's a key to a safe deposit box that may or may not hold a secret that may get her killed. Cassidy is thrust into a dangerous assignment with very little answers. Even worse, she's involved her mother's neighbor who's an ex-convict. Luke is a walking poster boy for talk dark and dreamy. And even with the past prison record, Cassidy feels deep in her bones she can trust him with her life. But is her life more in danger with or without him? The only thing I didn't like was the abrupt ending with a bona fide cliffhanger. But it's a hook, line and sinker move because now I want to keep reading into the next book to see what happens.

It was normal for Cassidy's adopted mother, Rosa, to go MIA for a while. It wasn't until Cassidy received a suspicious letter when she started to worry. Upon checking out her mother's apartment, she discovers that there's something off about her disappearance. She was viciously attacked by a strange man and was rescued by Rosa's neighbor, Luke. Everything went downhill from there.

**Does end on a cliffhanger***

This was a pretty decent read. It was hard for me to stay focused at times but when I finally did, I couldn't stop. I absolutely loved the unlikely duo of Luke and Cassidy. Cassidy is an "ordinary" introverted, bookstore employee, who is an good girl. Luke is an ex-convict badass. It was a reeeeally slow burn. Although, I loved the attraction between them but it was a bit frustrating. I would love to continue on.

I totally went into this without remembering that it ends in a cliffhanger!! I was like NOOOOOO when I got to the last page! I NEEDED to find out how it ends!! SO I obviously can't wait for the next book to come out!!

When Cassidy gets a letter in the mail from her mom, she did think it was a little strange. I mean who actually writes a real letter anymore? She does what her mom wants though but got so much more then she bargained for.

Thankfully the next door neighbor, Luke came in at just the right time to help. Now Luke, erm what can I say about Luke? I could say a lot about him but I'll let you read about him and get to know him just I like I did. *SIGH*

This book has action, suspense, chemistry and don't forget the CH!!! lol I'm now waiting impatiently to read the next one!!

This book was a fast read with lots of action. Cassidy is a young women who got a letter to go to her mom’s place. Which is odd since it was a real paper letter. Cassidy goes but trouble is always around. A man is waiting for her in her mom’s place she gets attack. A man named Luke comes to help and now is pulled into this crazy life that she’s involved with now. They are chased and found over and over. Luke is with her the whole time and starts to have feeling of lust for him but knows he won’t be there for her in the real world. No will be since no one ever has. She has no one to really count on. They are at the bank to get the box and find out what all this is about, but there’s a problem. The man that attack her is back. It ends on a cliffhanger and I can’t wait for the next one.

This book had me hooked from the first page. This is book 1 of the series and does end in a cliffhanger.

Two people who seem complete opposites are thrown together. Cassie received a mysterious note from her mother to collect something from her apartment and ex-con Luke steps in to help when she finds that someone was waiting for her to arrive. Together they go on the run and try to unravel the mystery that Rosa has left them regarding her research. There are people after the same information, people who are not frightened of using force and its a race to see who can get hold of it.

This book is full of suspense and mystery and will keep you turning the pages trying to find out what happens next. There are a few twists in the story and you do not know what will happen next.

WHAT DOES TRUST NO ONE MEAN?

I received this book for free and am giving my honest and voluntary review.

Cassidy is sent on a mission by her missing adopted mother where she is attacked immediately upon entering her mother’s apartment. Luke is an ex-con who saves Cassidy from someone trying to kill her, later to be a cop and an FBI agent.

They go on the run and is left in a cliffhanger when the cop, Michael, finds them in New York.

This story is one of chances and opportunities to do good. The hidden attraction between Luke and Cassidy made this reader wonder if it would go any further as both feel they are not good enough for each other. I also want to know how Michael found them in New York; although I have a hunch as to how.

I have never read anything by Amabel Daniels before this book. I'm not sure if I had known I was getting into a series of 6 books, I would have committed to this one. When Cassidy gets a letter from her adopted mother, she is dawn into danger, mystery, and an unexpected adventure. She also meets Luke, who comes to her rescue but is a bit of an enigma. I wasn't particularly drawn to either main character, their chemistry was a bit lukewarm. The books pace was a bit uneven and of course, we had a cliffhanger. I may try the next book, but I'm not sure I'm willing to make the commitment. Just an average read for me.

This story got off to a hot start. Cassidy, while on an errand for her mother, found herself in danger. I loved the fact that she did not fall apart during most of her ordeal. She did have a couple weak moments but not unrealistically so. Her savior, Luke, was willing to risk himself to help an unknown woman. He had his secrets, but for the most part, he was honest and protective. I enjoyed this couple who came to rely on each other as the chase continued. The story did not end here but will continue in the next book.

I received a copy of this story through Enticing Journey Book Promotions, and this is my unsolicited review.

I received a free ARC from Hidden Gems for the promise of an honest review.

I give it 3.5 stars. Things move fast in the book. It ends in a cliffhanger and seems like a serial novella. It does draw you in and the ending does leave you wanting to continue the series.

Luke is thrown into Cassidy's life after he comes across her being attacked in his next door neighbor's apartment. Cassidy has received a letter from her adoptive mom telling Cassidy to go her apartment and retrieve a key. Cassidy and Luke are forced to run for their lifes from an unknown enemy. Cassidy cannot locate her adoptive mom either. She has to follow the clues left by her adoptive mom to solve the mystery.

I don’t know what to make of this book. It’s definitely got me thinking, guessing about the mysterious Rosa and her projects. I must say that this mission that Cassidy and Luke have voluntarily taken on themselves is very thrilling and mind blowing . There are both introverts and the lines of communication between them are so lost at times when it becomes personal. I must say they are to broken souls bonding one woman’s plea for help/ assistant. I am curious as to how this will all play out in the coming books. I plan on seeing this series til the end.

I voluntarily reviewed this book after receiving a free copy.

Cassidy received a letter from her adopted mother which told her to retrieve a key and tell no one, but when she goes to Rosa’s apartment she is attacked. Hearing noise from his neighbors apartment Luke finds a man trying to choke a woman and tries to defend her but what happens causes them to run for their lives. Cassidy and Luke are so unlike each other but they seem to work but you can’t tell how close you are when trying to save your life. The story ends in a cliffhanger which hopefully the story will be soon.

Wow....this book kept me on the edge of my seat. I really enjoyed the intrigue and the excitement!! I still have a ton of questions because the story leaves so many unanswered questions and there is a cliffhanger ending. There is definitely some vibes going on with Cassie and Luke, but neither of them are willing to consider a relationship because they are too focused on staying alive and finding Rosa. Cassidy's friend and landlord, Zero, is a mystery himself, but his help is vital to Cassidy and Luke. I thought this was a great story and can't wait to continue with the next book!!

Seek: Project Xol by Amabel Daniels is Book 1 in this action suspense series.
Cassidy is brought in to a whole mass of trouble when she receives a message from her mother to retrieve an item. Her mother’s neighbour, Luke, comes to Cassidys rescue when he sees her being attacked and now they are both embroiled in this dilemma.
It’s a good read, with interesting characters and different backgrounds.
They are forced together and feelings develop over their time on the run.
It does end on a cliffhanger - you’ve been wanted - but an enjoyable read nontheless
