After Sky’s revelation, Force keeps him on lockdown, sending countless Temple girls his way—and more suitors to Serenity, only for her to rebuff them all. Her most ardent rejection is of Luc, whose heart begins to move in a different direction.
Meanwhile, Bliss is still the Temple’s Yin. She’s a beautiful shell burdened by the ghosts of an abusive childhood—ones she believes she can never conquer. Yet, Bliss has no desire for a relationship with anyone, least of all the sister who escaped. But as the days pass, she finds herself growing closer to Serenity and Serafina despite her reluctance. With swan-carved corpses continuing to drop, Bliss realizes she is starting to act—and feel—more like a sister and less like Yin.
When Bliss and Serenity discover a dangerous secret that could destroy their family, they make an oath to keep it. To hide what they’ve uncovered, Serenity must play Yang to perfection and risk losing her heart forever—while Bliss faces her own greatest challenge of opening her heart and letting love inside.
In this mesmerizing conclusion, the Temple twins must unite in what becomes a test of their strength, their commitment, and ultimately…their hearts.
THE JEWEL by Amy Ewing meets TRICKS by Ellen Hopkins in this gritty Young Adult Dystopian that tells of a fear-inducing future where the world of sex trafficking has become a social norm and where woman aren't treated as humans and are no safer than they were than they were in THE HANDMAID’S TALE by Margaret Atwood. THE TEMPLE TWINS is book four in THE UNCAGED SERIES by Emily Shore.

FUN FACTS ABOUT EMILY: This list gives you a little peek into the crazy brain of this author. If you find yourself relating to any of these, reach out to me on any of my pages and we shall go forth and bond!
1. I am an extrovert with unlimited psychological energy. (I also stockpile Pinterest memes!) 2. HUGE Enneagram fan, so if you want to connect more, prepare to be asked to take the test so I can better understand you and speak your love language . (My tritype is 847 - which makes me Deadpool's female twin!) 3. My favorite authors on the YA side are Laini Taylor and Susan Dennard. My favorite authors on the adult side include: Amelia Hutchins *Queen*, Pam Godwin *Goddess*, and Elayna Gallea. 4. Up until 2020, I used to write strictly YA. I had a major identity transformation, wrote three books in three months (back to back), found my true VOICE, processed my identity, healed from past trauma, and came out as bisexual. Now, I love writing spicy fantasy romance and bridging the gap between the heterosexual and queer audience by offering them badass heroines taking on the dark alphas and literally *everyone* in my books is queer and polyamorous because #whychoose? It's normalized, it's respected, and it's beautiful! 5. My favorite film is The Princess Bride. 6. I am Disney-obsessed, especially Marvel and the Princess movement. 7. I started writing The Aviary over twelve years ago after a visit to Germany and learning about the Red-Light District. These books were evidence of my sexuality screaming to be let out. 8. My favorite Broadway is The Phantom of the Opera followed closely by The Scarlet Pimpernel. 9. Songs to describe me: Unbreakable by Fireflight, Warrior by Demi Lovato, Ready or Not by Brit Nicole and Lecrae, Speechless by Naomi Scott (Aladdin), Show Yourself by Idina Mendel (Frozen 2), This Is Me from The Greatest Showman, and The Sound of Silence. 10. I’m a mom to two little girls. I fight for a better world for them and for myself.
Really? Not one of the main characters spotted the killer despite being the same plot as the first 2 books? Original idea was good but seems to have been spread a bit too thin.
Serenity and her accomplices are trapped in the Temple. Force, her father, knew her as soon as she tried to enter with a disguise. Now this is high tech, so I was impressed that he figured it out. He keeps Serenity locked up until her disguise wears off, but she is not alone. Sky has managed to infiltrate the Temple and is figuring a way to get her and her family out.
In this book, we get multiple POVs. Past books were from Serenity's POV and a little of Luc's. Here we get into Bliss, Serenity's sister's head, and a little from Luc and Sky as well. I liked that the author gave us more POVs. I think understanding how everyone is dealing with Force's manipulation is important. Oh, and Bliss. That girl had been abused and used since she was 7-8 years old. Never good enough for Force, who is still obsessed with the girls' mother and now obsessed with having Serenity be his successor, he threw Bliss to the wolves. She has totally shut down in order to survive. Like her mother before her, Force has abused her and left scars as a reminder. She starts to thaw a bit towards the end and I worry what that means for her in the next book.
Like Jade at the Garden, Force begins to train Serenity to take his place. In order to protect her mother from Force, Serenity and Bliss take on his abuse. Serenity is put in a situation where she has to harm her sister in order to play Force's game.
As we near the end of the book, it looks like Serenity and her crew are almost ready to take Force down. Serenity thwarts Force one more time which leaves us with him sending her down a flight of stairs. Sky jumps to her rescue, with what I am sure will be dire consequences in the next book.
This book held my interest even though there was not a lot going on compared to the previous 2 books. I think adding Bliss' POV, and showing flashbacks to her traumatic childhood, helped to build the world of the Temple and let the reader know how truly evil Force and this society is. Add in some intrigue with girls turning up dead, and this was a solid installment in the series.
The next book in the series will wrap up Serenity and Bliss' story.

The last installment is just as wonderful as the rest. Serenity and Sky reunite and plans are set in motion. But, Force is still a force to be reckoned with. Can Serenity stay true to herself and still make her ruthless father happy? Very fast paced and emotional on many levels. A book that draws awareness to a situation that many of us ignore. I love Emily's writing style. Because it's not just a story. There is more to it. It is a world that she created and draws you into. Where you can see and feel the words. I highly recommend this series that I hope to see on the big screen one day. The ending is absolutely awe inspiring and beautiful. I was not disappointed.
Serenity and Bliss deepen their relationship. The killer gets closer and the gang plots their escape. Luc starts to fall in love with Bliss. Bliss struggles to feel love for anyone after an extremely abusive childhood. Can Luc break through her barriers? After a revelation from Bliss, Serenity knows that she must sacrifice and fully embrace the Yang persona in order to keep Force away from Bliss. She must also fight to not be consumed by Yang.
Where the 3rd book seemed to fizzle out, it sure picked right back up in this one. So much happening that it was hard to keep track of. I was definitely left surprised the last quarter of the book.
Luc and Bliss are going to get together, seriously? Was that the most creativity the author had? Instead of creating a new character, she preferred to replace one sister with another, it's simply ridiculous.
