Love has no limits when it comes to matters of his heart.
Quintus Wolfe After a tragic moment in his childhood, Quintus and his family move to Vale Valley. Years later, with a thriving construction business, he is surrounded by family and friends. Things are almost perfect for Quintus. All except for one thing: he craves a mate and cubs of his own, but he can’t find the ideal alpha to help him build that family. No one, that is, until he is drawn to a sexy vampire who brings out the dark, sexual cravings Quintus never dreamed of before.
Scottland Shelton After his lover dies, Scott moves to Vale Valley looking for a reason to live again. With his thriving psychiatric practice, his popular band, and a community that depends on him, Scott thinks this is the best he can hope for. After years of living alone, he is caught off guard when he finds himself attracted to a certain sexy omega contractor.
With Quintus falling in love for the first time, and Scott reluctantly experiencing a new awakening of his long-dormant heart, the pair must figure out their places in each other’s lives while navigating the trials of a new relationship. Add in messy family drama and secrets galore, and it all might be more trouble than either man bargained for.
Matters of His Heart is the eighteenth book in Vale Valley Series Season three. Dive back into the sweet little town where anything magical can happen.
This was book 17 in the "Vale Valley Season 3" series. This was a really good read that if I could give this book more stars I would. This was a wonderful supernatural read Dr. Scott Shelton is vampire who is also a psychiatrist helping the people of the Valley he is also Kingston's cousin. Scott has been mourning his dead lover Alec for 20 years. Quintus Wolfe is the owner of Wolfe Construction and business is good Quintus came to the Valley with his mother and sisters when he was seven after a tragic childhood with his father Quintus is the protector of his family. When he goes to look at a job he meets Scott and begins humping his leg he is so embarrassed that he runs away. I loved reading this book Scott is good friends with Chance and Quintus is good friends with Grayson. Both Scott and Chance are Dom's and agree to open up a kink club in Vale. Turns out Quintus is a sub who is also a virgin. When his friend and running partner Donald gets chewed out by Grayson he confronts Quintus about Scott he tells him to be careful. I really liked both of these character's they both have secrets that they are not ready to share they each. After Scott takes Quintus to a kink club they each agree to spend two weeks getting to know each other and it was hot this book had a lot of hot sex scenes the most in the whole series. Scott is not only a vampire he is also a demigod and his family is very powerful and his one of his parents is an actor and the other is a former senator. Weird things begin to happen for the two and when Quintus goes to lunch with a new client he runs into Scott and Chance turns out the client is his trouble causing uncle both of them say things to one another they are both angry and Quintus leaves Scott. This was a really good read. Donald who was human before he was turned into a wolf finds out that he wasn't human Quintus and his little sister are kidnapped by someone who they thought was their dad. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling I am looking forward to reading the next season in Vale and I really hope one of the books in Donald's story. The author also talked about starting another town like Vale and I really hope that it becomes a series.
Fate had a sense of humor. A broken vampire & a hot cheetah! Wow!
What a stunning addition to Vale Valley. I love this book! Gia had outdone herself. Yes, old friends are back. So are a meddling family of gods. And just family business. And drama, and some violence. Yes there is steamy sex. Oh, did I mention babies! This is Scott & Quintus's story. From their first meeting, they know they are fated. But Scott is still not over his lover's death, after 40 years. He is a vampire, so he ages well. But his heart is locked away. Enter Quintus. His cheetah is screaming Mate, Mine. But his mind is screaming whoa, slow down. Doesn't matter. Fate always wins. Despite gods popping in and out, leaving Quinn overwhelmed, these obstacles will only serve to bring him closer to Scott. Watch as he winnows his way into Scott's heart, shattering all his walls. Add a very real threat to Quinn, and Scott will do anything to protect his mate. Even challenge a god. HEA will happen, but the struggle and ultimate triumph is in getting there. You. Will. Love. This. Book! This book contains adult themes and language, mm sex, violence, and is intended for mature readers only.
I thought this was a really good book in the Vale Valley series. Admittedly, I've not read any of the other books in the series, but I was still able to keep up with the characters and goings-on. There's a lot of backstory regarding the gods and demigods and vampires and, at times, it kind of bogged down the flow of the story, but I still found it interesting enough to keep reading. The BDSM elements were done really well and I liked that the author emphasized the "Safe/Sane/Consensual" rules. I'd definitely recommend reading the previous books if you really want to get a good feel for the storyline but, if does stand on its own as well.
It was a little hard to get through this book, since Vale Valley books are usually short and sweet reads. This was more like an action and steamy movie lol.
Character breakdown;
Scott: I liked him I thought he was handsome and sweet but I had a hard time with his dom side, I wasn’t a fan. But I liked how fierce he was with Quintus and his family.
Quintus: didn’t know what to expect from him but he was lovely to get to know. I liked how well he got along with his family especially his stepfather.
Like I said before took me a while to get into the book because I’m used to short and sweet reads, this was drawn out and had a lot of moving parts. It’s not a bad thing but for a vale valley book it was unexpected. 7.5/10 ⭐️ would recommend.
This was definitely one of my favorites! Fantastic writing that blew me away! This story had a much different feel to it then all the others so far. The primary couple have been through a lot as individuals which made their complex relationship all the more beautiful. And oh the amazing surprises that come to light along the way.... but I'm not going to do any spoilers ;) A thoroughly exciting and enjoyable read that I will definitely be reading again and again!
Really love the Vale Valley world and have read most if not all the books. I also really love the multi author concept if not always its execution.
Case in point....this book. The storytelling was good, encompassing all the elements that contribute to that BUT it was one or the worst jobs of editing I've ever experienced. Every error is a speed bump interrupting the flow and derailing the pleasure or reading a good story. And there were so so so many errors....that its a one star in my opinion
Way longer than it needed to be! If you read the season in order the repeating just from another character's point of view saying the exact same thing was unnecessary. Also up.until about the 80% mark the book was extremely exhausting to read. This book was also way to long and was beyond disappointing how it ended! You wrote a 388 page book and in the end the reader got nothing except a migraine and frustration! I will not be recommending this book sorry it needs a complete rewrite!
I read this book in one sitting; I could not put it down. I like books of paranormal towns and this one was full of all different types of paranormal, from shifters, vampires, demigods and gods. Two damaged men found each other when they needed one another to save each other and their town. Good story, mostly loveable characters. Recommend reading.
Well written story and well developed characters! Scott gets his book. He is a vampire! But not just any old vampire! He's related to Dracula! And more?!?
I loved this book, and it was definitely one of my favourites in the whole Vale Valley universe. I thought the chemistry between Scott and Quintus was completely off the charts, as well as hot as hell. I loved how Scott made Quintus do his own research about what being in the D/s relationship would mean, and then made sure they outlined all their likes, dislikes, wants and needs and enter into a contract between them both before they even did anything remotely k*nky.
Scott then waited until they could both admit to each other, and themselves that they’re mates. All I can say is Quintus took Scott’s instructions beautifully, as well as taking to the lifestyle like a duck to water. Their outing to the the Vault K*nk club was eye opening, as well as steamy as hell. Scott has been living with the guilt of not being able to save the man who he wanted to mate. Alec ended up taking his own life. Scott finds it hard to talk about him, especially to his mate. Quintus took over his step-dad’s construction company, and loves the work he does.
Quintus hasn’t told Scott that he ended up k*lling his ab*sive a*sehole of a father when he was only 7 years old, after he saw him going after his mum. Quintus doesn’t feel worthy of Scott when he finds out how powerful his family is, he has no confidence in himself. Even after they’ve mated Scott is finding it hard to tell Quintus that his family is even more powerful than he’s let on, and that the god of all gods Odin, is Scott’s Grand-Odin and he’s been named Odin’s heir when he either decides to step down or he’s dead.
Who knew there were so many gods and demi-gods drawn to Vale Valley. Loki’s up to no good. Will they be able to work out what trickery he has planned, especially to get back at Odin. Man, Donald went through the ringer during this book and finally comes into his own, he also finds his mate Fenrir, well more like Fenrir finally tracked him down that to Quintus. I really looking forward to reading their story and seeing them both get their happily ever after. They totally deserve it after everything that they’ve been through. I’d recommend this book, series, other Vale Valley universe book & author to everyone.
5* - very very good and rare (it would be a Blow- Away-book like ‘Jesse's Smile' or ‚Joey’ from Angelique Jurd, ‘Save the kids' series from EM Leya, ‘Love’s Tethered Heart’ from C.L. Etta or 'Liberty' from Seth King), it's like an A+
4* - very good and will be often reread and is a WOW-book with interesting plot and surprises (like most of Andrew Grey books and Davidson Kings 'Haven Hart'-series) it's like an A
3,5* - a really good book, which will be reread a few times a year (most romances where you can enjoy for relaxing and during waiting times in hospitals). I can recommend them definitively! It's like an B+
3* - it could be more then a one-time-reader, maybe 2-3 times a year. It’s like a B
2* - it was ok to read, but it's more a one-time- reader (i wouldn't recommend it heartily, but it was ok). It's like a C-, D
1* - sorry, but that isn't really a book for me (too many mistakes, not nice plot, illogical, so an absolut NO-GO). It's like failure in the whole line, dismissed, repeat the class
Quintus and Scottland, both have somehow made their way to Vale Valley over the years and anyone familiar with the series knows that cannot happen without a reason. The blurb tells you so much without telling you anything at all. With these stories in the series, the focus is on an individual couple and each is written by independent authors. However, all of the books cohesively follow one common denominator; Vale Valley, a hidden town for shifters who truly need it. As a construction owner, Quintus is thriving trying to keep up with the influx of demands for new housing for all the new people finding their way to the Valley. Personally though he wants an alpha of his own to start his family with. Scottland, an alpha and psychiatrist sees all sorts of people who really just want someone to talk to most of the time. He, like Quintus, wants what so many of his friends have and that is a beautiful happy mated life with someone that is just yours. Can the two of them together create the future they both crave? Will some obstacle stand in there way. Grab this one now to find out for yourself.
I love the characters in this book, Reaves never disappoints with her characters. They are always distinct and interesting, lovable and easy to connect with. I was extra excited for a cheetah shifter and he is ADORABLE! Adding links to the gods to Vale Valley? Yes!! I loved all the BDSM elements of their relationship. It fits them well. I enjoyed how their relationship developed even when I yelled at each other them to just communicate! The surprises Reaves added were awesome, I was definitely surprised and I love when an author can surprise me. The family members were fun, crazy, messy and interesting. A lot goes on in this book and it only leaves me wanting more. I hope there will be sequels for some of the side characters! I want to know their stories!! This book does not disappoint!
What a great addition to the Vale Valley series. Scott has closed himself off to romance, suffering from debilitating guilt after the death of his lover 20 years ago. Quintus has never really felt true romantic love, dreaming of the day he'll find his mate. When they meet, the attraction is instantaneous and sparks fly. Both men have secrets they're reluctant to share. Scott's family drama reaches out and causes a dangerous situation that almost has a horrific ending. Finally, these two men are able to put their demons to rest and have their HEA.
This is part of a massive series which should be standalone stories, but reading series 3, book 15 which has linked characters would help. There are many side characters in this, but they add to rather than detract from the whole story. Quintus is lovely and Scott seems to be too - although I had less affinity with him. A really good plot and I hope a couple of other Characters get their story in time
Giovanna Reaves has done it again. Just absolutely perfect way to close this amazing multi author series. I just absolutely love Quintus and Scott! It is great to see how their relationship develops and at times I wanted to shake them just to talk to each other. This story just pulls me in and I love every minute of it. I am hoping that more books will come in this multi author world because I just love revisiting Vale Valley.
Did you ever just start a book and discover it's actually a series ?? That was me so what's a girl to do but binge read for 4 days!! Vale Valley season 3 is a thrill ride from book 1 to 17. Along the way you meet and fall in love with some pretty good characters who will make you laugh and root for the love of each one of these amazingly written stories
Matters of His Heart: A Summer Romance (Vale Valley Season 3 Book 17)
Well deserved five stars because Giovanna Reaves talent for spinning an excellent, intriguing, spell bound story is phenomenal. I recommend this book and others pinned by Giovanna Reaves. Such an awesome author.
I love the quality of all the Vale Valley stories and this title is yet another great addition to the series. Smoking hot MCs, some Norse gods and other supernaturals in the mix. Some angst, some fluffy sweet and whole lot of fun reading! The author definitely treated the subject with care, the plot was well developed and the feels were all there. Just awesome!
It was amazing. Wonderful plot, characters very well done and the story just pulls you in this amazing world that is Vale Valley. It made me wish again and again for being there. Congratulations Giovanna for an amazing story and I can't wait for the next book.
This was a great book....filled with action, intrigue, and sweet romance. Scott and Quintas were perfect for each, and once they shed there secrets their love truly blossomed. I hope there's books coming out about Mohe and about Loki.
This book was absoutely brilliant i love this author so much. This book was completly different compare to the rest in the series. It had a lot of action in it not just the usual mxm action. Worth reading
I have enjoyed this series so far. This book was a little confusing though. Also, the editing missed quite a few errors. I will try the next one though.
Great end to season 4. im looking forward to seeing if the series will spin off to other vale like towns. Maybe we will get to see a town start from the very beginning.
