As much as I loved Mac and Royle's love story and how well they fit together, my favorite thing about this book was hands down Mac's son Dalton. His being in this book definitely was the difference between it being a 5 star rather than a 4 star read! Since we spent most of this book not at the gym we didn't get to see as much of the hilarious characters that also work there. However what we got was priceless! Loved It!
I was really looking forward to Mac’s story. But sadly, I was a bit disappointed. These two danced around each other almost the whole book, both assuming something about the other. It took almost the whole book for them to finally admit feelings to the other. In a book this short that is supposed to be sweet and low angst, slow burn really doesn’t work. And really I almost disliked Mac. Where previously, he was sweet and shy, here he was just ridiculous with his assumptions etc. Honestly, I think I like the author’s pnr stuff much better.
Mac’s story is book 5 in the Training Days series. A series centered around a family owned gym full of shenanigans, workouts, and love connections. And twerking! :) Mac can dance! But let me go back to the word family. The whole crew—everyone we met so far in books 1 to 5—come together with laughs and warmth to form one fun-loving, trouble making family. They might poke fun and drive each other crazy a lot, but you can tell they care about each other too. I love it!
This visit takes us into the hearts of Mac and Royle. Mac is the gym’s cargo shorts and combat boots wearing maintenance man who loves to dance and run for the hills whenever he catches sight of Royle Johnson. Royle is the most beautiful man Mac has ever seen. He’s a model and so out of Mac’s league or at least that’s what Mac thinks. Royle has the biggest crush on Mac and all is “Mac-iness” though. If only these two can stop running and hiding from each other. Which is where the adorable Dalton comes into play. Dalton is Mac’s 10 year old son, who supplies much of the laughter in this book and just the push these two need. Come and see!
I loved Mac and Royle. One of the cutest stories in the series so far. It was fun and sweet and perfect until the end. I was really disappointed with the ending here. It felt more like an introduction to the next character and book than a happily ever after for Mac and Royle. Plus…
I liked this one better! I loved Mac's son, Dalton. He's the reason I liked this story a lot. Dalton was enjoyable, also Mac and Royle has the 'it' factor. Their chemistry was strong. I'm kinda addicted to this series. Hoping for the next to come soon!
Mac was such a sweet, gentle giant. I absolutely adored him and his older-than-he-is son Dalton. They were so much fun and I loved watching Royle grow close to them.
5* - very very good and rare (it would be a Blow- Away-book like ‘Jesse's Smile' or ‚Joey’ from Angelique Jurd, ‘Save the at he kids' series from EM Leya, ‘Love’s Tethered Heart’ from C.L. Etta or 'Liberty' from Seth King), it's like an A+
4* - very good and will be often reread and is a WOW-book with interesting plot and surprises (like most of Andrew Grey’s books) it's like an A
3,5* - a really good book, which will be reread a few times a year (most romances where you can enjoy for relaxing and during waiting times in hospitals). I can recommend them definitively! It's like an B+
3* - it could be more then a one-time-reader, maybe 2-3 times a year. It’s like a B
2* - it was ok to read, but it's more a one-time- reader (i wouldn't recommend it heartily, but it was ok). It's like a C-, D
1* - sorry, but that isn't really a book for me (too many mistakes, not nice plot, illogical, so an absolut NO-GO). It's like failure in the whole line, dismissed, repeat the class
Another wonderful book from J.D. Light and the Training Days series. When Mac meets Royal as he comes into the gym to sign up, he's instantly attracted to the beautiful man who he feels is completely out of his league. He's a older maintenance man who has a son, a brilliant kid who likes Royal, but Mac pushes Royal away, although his attraction to the man grows. What I love about this series is the unique characters he writes and both Mac and Royal are no exception. This is a lovely read and I can't recommend this series highly enough and I can't wait for the next book!!
This book was everything I've come to expect from a J. D. Light book. It was cute, short, fun, and fluffy. As always I enjoyed this book a lot. Mac and Royle were perfect for each other. Both were sweet and loving and giving. I loved them for each other. Dalton made the story so much better and Joey, even with his brief appearance was adorable. I can't wait for Joey's book.
Mac is the fifth book in J.D. Light's Training Days series. It is a quick read that has a cute story about a single father (uncle raising nephew) and a sexy model. The characters are together are very sweet, sexy and very likeable. The story is funny, sweet and a perfect treat for when you need a fluff read... relatively low on angst but high on fun and heart warming moments!
I think this was my favorite out of the series. I absolutely loved Dalton he made me laugh out loud a few times. Royale was so sweet and Mac's shyness was adorable.
Mac and Royle are such sweethearts. I've never said "Awww" and laughed so much in one book as I did with this one. Theses two needed each other, and I'm so glad that Dalton used his ten year old talents to keep them around each other. Such a great read.
