In Teeny Tiny Ernest Ernest realizes he is much smaller than all the other farmyard animals and his spunky antics to try to look taller in order to impress his friends result in an inspiring tale of loving yourself for who you are.
This is a lovely little book about a miniature donkey who is unhappy because he's so small. He wants to be big like all his friends, the cows, the horse, the other donkeys. It turns out that his friends never noticed how little he is and had only noticed what a great friend he is. They even are envious sometimes that he's small because he has an advantage in certain games. It's very sweet how they convince him that he's a wonderful animal and friend and that it has little to do with his appearance. The illustrations are wonderful.
If you love a cute story about friendship and love, then this is a story for you! Teeny Tiny Ernest is a remarkable story that teaches children to love themselves for who they are. It doesn’t matter if you are the shortest in the class or the tallest, all that matters is that you know how truly special you really are. This story is based off of the friendship of the real animals at Barnsyard Farm owned by author, Laura T. Barnes and her husband. This is a great book for beginning readers because the message is very clear and easy for kids to understand. Teeny Tiny Ernest is a miniature donkey on the farm who realizes that he is the smallest animal of all, even the newborn horse is taller than he is. Throughout the story Ernest tries everything he can to appear taller. He tried everything from standing on top of a mound of dirt, to stretching his neck out as far as he could. When his friends ask Ernest why he seems so down, he tells them that he wants to be bigger like the rest of the animals. His friends tell him that they don’t see him any different than they see each other. This shows children that even though they may see flaws in themselves, nobody else sees them. While reading this book children will realize that people will accept them just the way they are and all they have to do is be themselves. It conveys an important message through a simple story and the vocabulary is friendly for the age group it is intended for.
Cute story about a miniature donkey that feels self conscious about his size. He goes around the barnyard trying to think of ways to make himself appear bigger. Then one of his friends reminds him that size or physical appearance isn't what's important about a person. It's got a good message about self acceptance and friendship. Nice illustrations. Look for the bumblebee in each illustration.
