I've lost my mates and I'm about to lose my mind... This time, I'm fighting dirty
They left me for dead, but now I'm back. Ready to fight and claim what's mine..
With no mates, no magic, and no hope. A girl's got to use what she's got to get what she wants.
Fae Mates is the final book of the Royal Fae Academy trilogy, a reverse harem paranormal academy bully romance with dark themes, sexual situations, and violence.
This series was so bad, from the very first book to the last but I lapped every book up, maybe it was boredom, maybe it was the smut. I didn't think the heroine actually really connected with anyone in the harem because she really liked sex and would have it with anyone so even though she was fated to the princes I think it doesn't mean anything to her. She would have slept with them either way.
I loved that she was that way sexually, don't get me wrong. I just think the author did not put more emotion behind the characters except for lust. I also absolutely HATED that the heroine didn't do anything to the guys after what they had done to her. I like Bully RH ONLY when the heroine pays back the people that bullied her in the first place, without that she just looks like a doormat.
If you're interested in this series know that there is absolutely no plot, after she's cursed by the dark fae that "his burden will be her burden" it turns out there is no burden because absolutely nothing happened in regards to the curse.
The ending was decent, but overall, this book did not live up to the quality of the first two. Mind you, there were parts of those books I skimmed over, but I sill mostly enjoyed them - even with the brutal humiliation and penchant for sexual favors. This one, however, veered straight into sexual healing, and while that certainly has a tone and place in fiction, it took the place of an emotional connection here and served only to advance the plot. The relationships with the princes felt forced, though the surprise addition member was very welcome - That relationship felt far more solid and based on events that transpired, not just sex (and I love sex in books... this was just filler though).
This series entrapped me from the start... and wow, what an ending. I only hope Helen's story comes quickly as i am dying to know what happened to her in the fea prison. I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for it.
Even though I dnf the second book in this installment, I wanted to see how the series ended so I skimmed this book. This book was ok, it wasn't bad or good. I did not connect to the characters and the book left many questions unanswered. Additionally, the 'surprise' ending was underwhelming.
I have to say, this was a great conclusion to another fantastic Sofia Daniel offering. I am so glad that Pokeweed was included in this story, too. The emotional rollercoaster made for an interesting read.
These books are extremely strange, they had a good premise and a lot of promise in the beginning but as they went on they just got weirder and weirder. There isn’t a lot of explaining about the faeries and their world is extremely complicated and very hard to keep up with. There is very little world building and it is really needed as nothing is the same as every day life in the real world even the herbs and foods they use for cooking are made up faerie things.
The heroine has no depth or personality, she looses her sister and makes very little attempts to do anything about it. All she thinks about is sex and dicks. I don’t mind books that have sex tbh I actually enjoy it but her sex scenes are random and spring out of no where. Apparently she likes to suck dick and when she does men fall in love with her and she magically becomes attached to them. That’s about as much depth as she has. I couldn’t imagine the princes looks as attractive at all, they spoke like 18th century noblemen (but just them and no one else) and half the time they didn’t even talk at all just stood there while their mother or other partners tried to hurt the heroine who they supposedly loved. There was massive plot holes, things forgotten, things never explained and just random pointless information included. Over all this was an extremely strange book

This is the final installment in the 3 book series. It was an ok ending for the series, though I felt it could have been better. A lot of loose ends in the series. Parts of this book were good, others- not so much. There was a lot of parts that were glossed over, or parts that didn’t mesh well in the story, or just didn’t make sense. This book got a bit predictable IMO, too, taking away some of the enjoyment factor. I’m still not a big fan of the 4 princes, but I did like Pokeweed. I felt things were randomly happening just to make the story move forward even if those happenings didn’t make sense, or maybe at times it seemed too convenient. I found it odd that sex with Unity could cure curses or remove the effects of poison! I guess that makes her have a magical vagina!? LOL The relationships between Unity & the 4 princes seemed to be based off of sex, as I didn’t really see them evolve enough to move past the bullying in the beginning. I didn’t really feel the princes relationships with Unity were well developed. I did get more from Pokeweed, so that relationship actually made sense. I wouldn’t want to read more in this world at this point.
I don’t know why I was expecting more from the ending…
Apparently, in this world, every problem can be solved with sex. I’m not against smut. I actually love it. But not when it’s the plot of the story.
No one truly got punished for what they did. Not Gala, not Helen’s father, not the Queen, and not the girls who assisted Gala in Helen losing her powers.
Unity cared more about sex than about her friendships and about her sister. We went through 3 books trying to figure out what happened to Sicily, only to come to the conclusion that Sicily didn’t know who Unity was and Unity was perfectly fine with that as long as she was alive and well. WTAF?
We also never found out about what happened to Helen.
What was the point of making this a book about an Academy and giving the FMC wings and powers when she never developed and could never use them? These characters were 1 demential at best. Also… the cat never got to break his curse? Really?
These books were very rushed and needed a lot more thought put into them.
Mind blown!! I always expect the unexpected, but I did NOT see that coming!
Third book, and the best of the three. This book was so full of twists, it was exciting!
Unity really is something else. This chick has a serious carnal appetite. But in the end it works in her favor! So glad things worked out for my favorite 'gardener'. I was rooting for Pokeweeds happiness since the start. Beyond relieved that he got his HEA, as well. Gala got what she deserved, and so did certain others. Though, it was so tragic for my favorite prince to gain and lose someone all at the same time (I won't be mentioning names). Have to read the story if you want to fill in the gaps!
Some parts of the story could have been better 'polished' and detailed more, but it still didn't take away from the story. It does seem there is, or will be, a continuation but it feels like it will be someone else's story that is told. Regardless, I definitely enjoyed this series and have no regrets.
Ill start with the cons and move to the pros. I didn't really like the relationships between her and the princes it honestly only seemed like they liked her because of her open sexuality. The cat was a jerk and only thought about himself. It just seemed like this whole book went way off course. Lady gala was supposed to be this super powerful person with enchanting the princes but everything all changed when unity came back and basically had her way with them. Then the ending with all the other craziness, I just wasn't a fan. While I couldn't fully immerse myself in the story I will say that from book one I was always a pokeweed fan. He was and is my absolute favorite and I'm happy with the way things ended concerning him. It was a decent enough story and that's why I continued through. I think if the story just had a bit more depth it would make for a better series.
I really enjoyed that book, maybe not as much as the first two.
Unity finally mates with the four princes but to me, with August, it was all too quick, like he suddenly realizes that Unity meant no harm and boom, everything is going great between them. Honestly, I'm so happy for Pokeweed, he truly deserves the best, he has the kindest soul.
Is flying the only power Unity has? Can't she do anything else? I mean, she went through all that trouble just to be able to fly? Where is Helen? Like, what's going on, why can't they find her? She definitely doesn't deserve that kind of ending in the books, she was one of the few to help Unity. I also wanted to know more about Queen Maeve and Prince Lugh and the dark fairies! I needed more!
It was a nice ending to the series nonetheless, I really enjoyed reading this series!
This series seemed like it had a lot of promise. The blurb on Facebook caught my attention and to be honest, it wasn't a terrible book/series but it also wasn't one I'll re-read. It's a quick, fast paced read. The sex scenes are... ok. The wrap up I felt was shoddy. Too many holes in the story, too much vagueness in the resolution. It wrapped easily and quickly and felt like a copout. She has magic? She doesn't? The side story of the teacher? Felt incomplete. The other students in the reform? Incomplete. I get why the storyline for Helen was incomplete but the others? It felt rushed and unfulfilling. Overall the story is more of a 3.5. There are some editing issues that should've been caught. With some revamping, this storyline could be a 4.
I really enjoyed this series. I did wonder how she was going to end it. And I'm not going to spoil it for you, but you don't know everything you think you know.
I had to wait to read the book because I had other obligations and that made it all the sweeter. I finished it in one sitting.
My only issue and reason I may remove part of a star is that there are several editorial issues. Such as in one place it says, princess where it should be princes. There are other issues. However, they were minor enough that they didn't disrupt my enjoyment of the book, which is why I did give the full stars above.
Seriously if you haven’t read this series start reading it!!!
Awesome ending. Everyone evil got their just desserts and Unity and her men got their happily ever after!!! And pokeweed wow what a twist to who he truly is! Unity will be the best queen and be who everyone on the island needs weather there faerie, halfbreeds, humans or even the magical creatures! She will be an amazing Monarch. Thank you Sofia Daniels for sharing Unity’s story with the world. It was such a joy to read every word! Your writing style brought these characters to life for me. I’m heartbroken for her story to be over, but you never know maybe he kids could have a story of their own.
What a nail biting and exciting conclusion to unity and the princes. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time and I loved the sequence of events that happened in this book. I felt like we got exactly what you'd want from a come from behind victory. The characters were wonderful and I'm so happy that we got to see what happens over time in the epilogue. And I'm excited for the upcoming dark fae prison series featuring Helen! Unity came into her own in the book and I was jumping for joy with how her story completed. This series was a joy to read and so unique. Beautiful!
I am a bit disappointed by the way the story ended. I still have questions. What about Helen? What about the other Fated, what happened to them? It's five years at the ending but I didnt get to see their growth as a couple/group. I really LIVED how Pokeweed's fate turned out. The destiny that was passed on to Unity confused me, so was that dark male prince destined to be Queen of the isle of Fae? Was HE really fated to be all of the Princes' & new king's mate.
It was still a decent read, so I recommend this series.
Literally just sex and vibes. I don’t think any of my question got answered at all. Alas, I was still very much entertained. Hahaha. I enjoyed the Pokeweed stuff although I don’t think it’s necessarily a plot twist cause it was very much evident that he was important. My favorite line throughout this entire series:
“I had to remind myself that four dicks were better than one, and if things went right, I’d enjoy three for each hole plus a spare.”
This is the summary of this series. I won't knock learning about the dark fae court though. What happened to Helen???
But that’s pretty much the only positive thing I can say. But since I did finish, I gave it 3 stars.
Let me first say that I love RH books. I’ve read hundreds. I’m hardly a prude but…
The FMC is pen*s obsessed. Horribly so. To the point that it made no sense. She’s running for her life. Oh there’s a pen*s! Time to drool!
And every male character is trying to shove theirs in her mouth. It got old quick. I started skipping whole sections because it was rinse and repeat over and over.
There were a lot of surprising twists in this final book of the series. It was exciting to see where Ms. Daniel was taking Unity after the betrayal and loss of the 4 princes at the end of book 2. To say book 3 was action pack would be an understatement as our heroine had to rise to the occasion multiple times to obtain her destiny and her HEA.
I was entertained but there were parts that were pretty over the top rediculous. Also, there are quite a lot of text errors. The wrong names used in scenes: Bradwell, when it was Caulden. Orlando... where did that come from.. when they were talking about Oberon. August's eyes were sometimes lime-green and sometimes described as blue the next page.
Decent effort but definitely could use some editing.
This 3rd book in the series really wasn't much better than the first two. Not much of a plot and mostly just sex scenes and mediocre ones at best. But all 3 stories had enough to make me want to continue so I could find out what happens. Even with the poor grammar and bad plot lines. It is a teenager series trying to be grown-up by throwing in some bad language and sex. 2/5 stars and that's being generous.
It felt like a beauty and the beast retelling in a weird way. The focus of the book transitioned from the mates to Pokeweed which was strange as he was a nice character but I felt like a large proportion of the book was dedicated to him. It felt like a standalone book dedicated to Pokeweed than the 3rd and final instalment of the series.
Well I definitely didn't see that coming. I expected mate but not that!!!!!! All in all loved the series and the twists. Maybe a bit of a rushed ending for me. I didn't see the level of bullying that put some off. I just thought it was evil and twisted and yes there were mean elements but it wasn't bully for me. I really enjoyed the style of writing and the intricate world.
The only redeeming quality of this series was the storyline. The author had a good idea but fumbled at the execution. There was no chemistry among any of the characters, and the harem felt forced, especially the introduction of the last love interest. And don't get me started on the idea that the cure for everything is the FMC magical "Maidenhead," which was treading on dub-con territory. TLDR- More erotica than story
This is the third and final book in Unity and her guys story. It absolutely did not disappoint in the least. She is determined to get her guys back no matter what. I love how strong and fierce she is and does not give up no matter what. This book seriously went way beyond what my expectations were for it and I love everything about it!
Reverse Harem: All 4 princes have fallen and she has added 1 more
I love Poke he is my favorite character in the book and his story had a beauty and the beast feel to it. This series was ok it ended and tied up all the loose ends. Also this girl really likes to go down on her mates we get it.

I could not put this series down once I read the first one, I automatically continued with the 2nd and 3rd. I wish that the stories were a bit more in depth, had more smut scenes and maybe a hint at a royal birth, or several births like when an omega were gives birth to a litter.
Terrible series. Heroine was sex crazed and didn’t seem to actually bond with any of her mates. Likewise they hated her until they got some action and did a total 180. The whole plot was poor and often didn’t make sense. The author also couldn’t seem to remember which characters she was writing about, calling the princes by the wrong name and even calling the king different names
