Amarante took on the moniker Death fifteen years ago and in that time, she’s more than earned the title as part of her long quest for justice. Now, with her plan finally reaching its culmination, she’s putting everything on the line. And she won’t let anyone stand in her way—especially the one man she lost her heart to, once upon a time.
Tristan Merrick gave up being a hero along with his other childhood dreams. He knows how the world works now. Power is the only currency that truly matters, even if he has to compromise every bit of himself to gain it. His only regret is betraying the one woman who made him question it all.
Fate and revenge have put Amarante on a mission she doesn’t expect to survive…and Tristan stands directly in her path. The chemistry that bound them together before sparks even hotter now, with both of them helpless to resist. But with the stakes higher than ever, will Tristan repeat the sins of the past…
Or will he do whatever it takes to save Amarante from herself?

Okay I hate Tristen. There was seriously nothing likable about him except he was hot. He was willingly helping the villain who is the head of child trafficking and abusing camp. I got it that the didn't knew that before but even after knowing it he was helping him for power. He was literally threatening an innocent girl to do as he says or he will kill her innocent sister and even kidnapped the brother of the girl he loves just because the man he is working with said so. He is a monster and that kind of men needs to be killed. For me he was just as bad as Zhou (okay not that bad but still) if he willingly worked for him even after knowing that he abused children and had abused the heroine too when he loved her. And he was always showing how great he was compared with Amarante's siblings when he had left her and her siblings are still loyal to her. He was just a pathetic dog. He chose money and power over Amarante the girl he loved. It seemed as if he chooses the power with Amarante instead of Amarante because of love.
And I also started hating Amarante too. She was so sure she hated him but at the first chance she literally begs for his touch. In all the other books she was portrayed as a powerful woman but in her own book she totally depends on Tristen.
And I totally hate that the hero was a manwhore and has slept with way many girls when the heroine only had one relationship when the hero had left her. I totally hate books in which the hero is much more experienced than the girl. It kind of seems sexist. I had way good expectations from Amarante's book but i'm so disappointed.

I really loved this series and each character plus their own story. I just really hated how the main “villain” didn’t get everything coming to him and I wish his death would’ve been different.
I enjoyed Amarante and Tristan's second chance enemies to lovers romance. And the conclusion of the Horsemen's story. This one wasn't that spicy just a 2 🌶.
I loved Te and Tristan’s story, I read it in a day! The fact that they lost their virginity to each other when she was 18 AND that he was the one that taught her survival skills was so cute! But that betrayal cut so deep, the fact that he chose to work for her father and leave her… OUCH! No wonder she was so closed off to people aside from her siblings. I enjoyed reading about their second chance! I totally get why she couldn’t trust him, but I am a sucker for a man chasing down the woman he wants (and Tristan did NOT disappoint!) I think the ending to this series was amazing… Tristan declaring his love at the island to Te, then helping them get into Zhao’s compound, then he was willing to sacrifice himself for them to escape. I was so proud of Te when she decided to change her plans and leave her father to rot in his secret passage and go back to save Tristan! AND the epilogue where the horseman and their partners invaded the newer camp and saved all those children was absolutely perfect! I’m so sad this series is over, I really liked it.

Tengo sentimientos encontrados y una GRAN sensación agridulce al terminar este libro. No ha sido un buen cierre. Esperaba más. Y esperaba más del libro de Amarante por los libros previos. Tristán no me encanta.
Meh 😑
This was a great end to an interesting series! For the entire series I felt like I was missing backstory and information that would make it feel more fleshed out (even having read the Thalania series that precedes this) but if you let go of that and just enjoy the story and the connection between the leads, the read is much more enjoyable! Overall a quick, suspenseful, and sexy read.
Series is all short books, enjoyed the story. Would love a few epilogues about where all 8 characters are at after the book ended. Also would love a few spin offs… I know the O’Malleys are in same universe… but I would love a series about ‘Virtuous Sins’ and a series about Nic
This book in the 6 part series of twisted hearts was a great ending to very climatic string of events I started the O’Malley series because of the 4th book and them getting their ultimate goal was the icing on the cake Now I just need to finish the last of the O’Malley series and the timeline of events will be finished
So I am now thorough invested in these people and demand a series with ever single person mentioned in this world! I’m about to spend entirely too much money on this woman’s books and I regret nothing…. The Irish mob! The assassins! Esther! Everybody!!
This was really a great series. All are just as good as the previous ones. Looking forward to reading more by Kafer Robert. Really excellent writing abilities and imagination. Highly recommend reading.
I absolutely loved this book. Amarante is such a badass woman! The love she has for her family is unparalleled. The fierceness with which she protects her loved ones….definitely would want her on my side! A must read.
I definitely want to hear more about the Virtuous Sins. I'm so glad we got to know Death. She was always aloof, and I am so glad we got to see behind the mask. Great conclusion to the series
Enjoyed that this book took place primarily off the island and introduced the hotel guy. I’m interested if he has a book at some point. I liked the dynamics between Amarante and Tristan and enjoyed that there was more background between them. Overall disappointed in the ending of the main conflict of the series. It was also confusing to introduce the hitmen cults, maybe those are more of a reference to other series? Seemed like as a reader there were things assumed to be known about the universe.

✨BOOK REVIEW✨- Her Vengeful Embrace (Twisted Heart Series 6) by Katee Robert
This book made up for the last book. I enjoyed the second chance / lovers to enemies to lovers journey of Amarante and Tristan. It was great to finally see beyond Amarante’s cold exterior. The plot felt like a take on John Wick. This wasn’t the spiciest of the books in the series, but I think it was the best one in the last half of the series.

UNOFFICIAL SERIES SUMMARY🗻💄✈️🖤 Amarante aka Death is determined to bring down her enemy. She’s arranged a summit in the Warren to meet him. The Warren is a neutral place where killing your enemy gets you killed. It’s a chance she’s willing to take. Except instead of losing her life she might just lose her heart…again?
Currently available on KU.
QOTD: What’s a series that you think ended on a bang for you? If you don’t read series what’s a book that left you going “damn that was good”?
The last of the Island of Ys and I'm really depressed about it. I desperately want a 7 deadly sins spin off, I wanna hear about the assassins. Back to this book, I absolutely loved this second chance romance and how these two people, who have done truly the worst things in the world to survive, can even learn to trust each other and find their way back to each other. There was so much action, suspense, “what is happening?,” and the epilogue was just chef’s kiss.
I have been dying (pun intended) for Amarante's books since I started this AMAZING series! It did not disappoint. Tristan is a phenomenal hero, even though I wanted to punch him for his past mistakes. This book had twists that took me on an emotional rollercoaster, and steamy scenes that had me fanning myself. The characters (all of the family comes to play) are the real stars of this book, and this series, though. Just a must read if you want well developed characters and stories!
Amarante and Tristan had a beautiful story of love, hurt and second chances. Watching Tristan fight for her to trust him to help her fight her bogeyman was emotional and stressful, but perfect.
