I’ve never tindered in my life. In my younger years you only met your new love interest through friends or you just had to pluck up the courage to step up to a complete stranger. That’s also how Cali met Jamie, but after 12 years and being married a little over a year he traded her in for ‘their’ personal trainer. And now times have changed and Cali has to catch up with modern dating if she doesn’t want to spend the rest of her life stuck at home with a foul-mouthed parrot.

I loved that Cali’s emotions are not your usual cliche which I have to read about more often than not. She’s angry at Jamie but still loves him too, her feelings are clear and she’s not trying to hide it from herself or the reader. She doesn’t get hung up on a revenge angle though nor trying to get him back at any cost.

This novel isn’t a string of all the weird dates she finds through this dating app.. well the first one inevitably is but soon after there is some real potential. There’s Will, the handsome military officer, there’s Mario, a very hot Formula 1 pilot and I had a feeling that Jamie aka Big Boy J, as her hilarious parrot calls him, might be having second thoughts too as he seems to find all sorts of reasons to turn up at her place unannounced quite a few times. Who will she choose?

While she’s making her way through a few dates, learning through trial and error that some men aren’t really looking for love, there’s also a thing or two happening at work with her colleagues. The drama and entertainment level was quite high in this novel and I couldn’t wait to find out what was waiting around the corner (or page here). The only thing that was extravagantly outrageous was Lady P, the parrot – well African Grey – with her foul mouth. Lady P was a fantastic addition to the story and that bird was able to make me smile every single time something came out of its mouth.

Even though I wouldn’t have made some of the choices Cali makes – she is a bit naive after all and I’d like to think that I’m not – I could connect very well with her. I was on pins and needles to see if she’d make the right choice and choose the right guy in the end but I can only say all’s well that ends well eventually. This was a perfect distraction and a serious beam of sunlight on what originally started out as another dull day.

There is quite a lot I want to say about this book, but I'm going to need to be careful of potential spoilers. My overwhelming feeling after finishing Love Me Tinder is that it could be made into a fabulous romantic comedy film, as it has all the elements there already, and I can see it easily on a big screen.

This was one of those books that had me giggling to myself from very early on, and I just didn't really stop throughout. Love Me Tinder is very easy to read, with lots of short chapters, to the extent that you will find yourself saying just one more chapter, and 10 will pass before you surface again.

Cali Summers goes from being upset about her cheating soon to be ex-husband into a world of tinder and casual encounters, some more horrifying than others, and most of the situations will probably be familiar to regular users of the app.

Cali also has a best friend Annie, who she is trying to help out, and has some great colleagues in the hotel where she works, with one of them even letting her use room 102 for some of her encounters. Cali is if anything a bit too naive to be taking part in online dating, and I couldn't help but wish I could have knocked a small amount of sense into her.

The majority of the chapters are from Cali's view point, however every now and then you will get a quick snipped focusing on another character, often allowing the reader to have a sneak peek of relevant information that Cali is yet to know about. So even though I knew some things were potentially coming, I still enjoyed seeing the various reactions once they were out in the open.

Although I have only read a few books by Nicola May so far, I am continually impressed by her writing and sense of humour. I thought Love Me Tinder was absolutely fantastic and I was sorry to see it finish.

Thank you so much to Nicola May for this review copy. This was my honest opinion.

I loved every page of this novel it was so addictive; it’s fun, flirty, fruity storyline kept me fully engaged and entertained and I had to know what happened next.

Cali was still feeling very heart broken from the break-up of her marriage to Jamie. It’s been a year since he walked out of their marriage and into the arms of their personal trainer.

Cali’s emotions were still quite raw but she felt like she needed to move on and joined up to the dating app Tinder. As a Tinder virgin she wasn’t use to the protocol of online dating but she was soon lining up her first dates. However, possible mates on the dating app are not so forthcoming with the full facts on their profiles which Cali discovers with quite comical and alarming results!

After a few rocky starts on the dating app scene Cali does find some gems and she is soon enamoured by a couple and starts to have a little fun. Fun is all well and good but it doesn’t give you the warmth of companionship in a loving relationship and Cali was still feeling lonely.

We follow Cali on her journey finding romance through the dating app and struggling with the emotions following her break-up.

The author, Nicola May, has created a fun, flirty, sexy read that will totally entertain you. Nicola May’s style of writing is honest and she has a fabulous sense of humour that spills out across the pages. I loved the sub-characters Adam and Will especially and there was a little feather friend that took centre stage very often. Fabulously fruity and lots of fun!

SO funny, trendy, romantic and easy to read! Love the characters The story was a great blend of stable and unstable friends Great read
Nicola May is an author who has a very whitty sense of style in her writing. This book was a great mixture of fun, flirty and of course romance. Nothing x rated, so I know it will appeal across the board to all readers of traditional rom-com. The fact that Cali is on the cusp of a major life change is sort of sad, but for me the author made it an expected event. The way she goes about her "dating" is just hilarious.

There are several characters that will make you laugh until you are crying. One for instance goes on about a bathroom issue, worthy of an award!

Using room 102 in the hotel where she works is genius. The cast will bring up a great deal of subterfuge. The book is a must read

Review: you know I am always excited about a new Nicola May release and I saved this one for a long flight just so I would be able to enjoy it for. Start to finish with little interruption. This has Nicola's usual mix of the real life and the comedy with just enough romance thrown in but very much a realistic experience of modern romance. I love the fact that there are more and more books coming out now about dating using dating apps and getting back into it when everyone else seems to know how it works but you don't because that is reality and I love to read about real people like me doing things like I do! So I loved the concept of this book and the real ying matched up to the premise.

Now Cali, I found Cali a little difficult to get to like. I felt like I knew her instantly but I wasn't sure about her reluctance to let things go and move on but I rolled with it and by the mid-point of the book, I was really routing for her. There are a string of possible suitors for her and you know that means lots of hot men to ogle over, which you ow I am ok with. We also get to know Cali's ex Jamie quite well and I really did feel for him and the situation he got himself into. It was quite interesting because I also felt pretty invested in some of the secondary characters, Cali's workmates for example And best friend Annie, so you can see that Nicola may knows how to write a character, no matter how minor!

Of course I loved the setting of this book. This author always writes books close to home in my world and so I could picture all of the places they were going and the place Cali went for dates. I was also surprised that she could find quite so many different men I to he area! Because this is book about dating, there are some fabulous sex scenes as well, all well-written by this author and all of which I enjoyed almost as much as Calie herself. As I said in the beginning of this review, this book had a decent amount of comedy, romance and real life and it was the perfect mix and I stick by that. This is a light read and definitely something I'd recommend you pick up this summer!

We all know that all is fair in love and war. But when you suddenly find yourself thrown back into the dating world, it soon becomes obvious that modern dating is, in fact, a war zone. And this is exactly where Cali Summer's life is - thirty, and soon to be divorced, after her husband ran off with their personal trainer. Having dedicated most of her adult life to her ex, Jamie, Cali has no idea how to get over what has happened to her. But when a friend suggests that a certain dating app is the way that things are done now, Cali decides to jump on board. And her life will never be the same again...

However, Cali soon figures out that Tinder is not all that it is cracked up to be - from the sleazy guy who looks nothing like his photo, to the guy who lied about his career and the fact that he was married with kids! That's not to say there weren't some nice guys along the way, like Will, the army officer, who was upfront and said he didn't want anything serious and didn't want to lead her on. But life is always complicated and when Cali finally meets her perfect guy it should all be plain sailing from here on out, right? Add a best friend whose marriage hits a stumbling block, work colleagues who have issues of their own, an ex who regrets his decisions, and some sizzling sex that is thrown in along the way, and welcome to modern dating everyone!

LOVE ME TINDER by Nicola May is a sexy, laugh-out-loud novel that shows the positives and negatives of dating in today's world. Cali is heartbroken over the demise of her marriage but finds the strength to get back out there, and I admired her spirit in never giving up. Although a little naive at times, Cali is a really likeable character and I really wanted her to find her happy ever after. The secondary characters of the novel were just as loveable and I enjoyed discovering their situations. With hilarious action, some steamy scenes, and emotional turmoil mixed throughout LOVE ME TINDER by Nicola May is a great read for all romance fans.

As someone who has put in her time in the trenches of online dating with her share of bad first date stories (thank goodness those days are done!) but did so before the days of Tinder, I was intrigued by the premise of this book. And what a delightful read it was! Fun and light, this book had me hooked from the start kept me turning the pages with a smile until the end.

Cali was likeable as a protagonist and someone I was rooting for, in spite of (or perhaps because of) her naïveté. There were so many times I was reading and all I could think was 'Oh, honey.'

But really this was part of the charm of this book, and it's easy to see how Cali was blinded by love (lust!) and the new experience of online dating. And don't forget the side characters! I felt like I really got to know Cali's friendCs and I was cheering for them too. And perhaps the shining star of this book for me was the hilarious African Grey Lady P and her foul mouth!

Nicola May's writing was excellent and amongst the hilarity I was moved by her beautiful prose. I found myself highlighting a quote about love, and I NEVER stop to highlight in books! As an American expat living in the U.K., I also found this book charmingly English - which is exactly what I like in my rom-coms!

This is the first Nicola May book I've read...but it definitely won't be my last!

Wish I hadn’t kept going but also glad I did. A simple story, totally a copy of ‘the Tinder Swindler’ mixed with divorce and Tinder experiences thrown in. Cheap shots at women, crass jokes and speech I really doubt anyone would say in real life?
I never normal don’t like a story. It was alright but it was the total naivety of the main character that annoyed me. Glad I finished it though anyway haha!

It was an ok read. There were some good bits and it was funny in places. The writing of the sex scenes needed more Jodi Ellen Malpas and a lot less cringe. Also, there are other words that can be used instead of inserted 🙄. There were quite a few typos that I reported to Amazon via my Kindle.

Well, this book was a bit of a eye opener for me to the world of online dating! Cali was cheated on by her Husband and decides to put herself out there on Tinder. Before I read this I knew nothing of Tinder, after reading this I can see how it could bring love and it can bring laughter, mix ups, disappointment and fun! For Cali , it brought a novel load of laughs and a few experiences that she won t forget!

There was a brilliant side line character called Lady P, who is an African Grey Parrot. He would say the most inappropriate things at every opportunity and you can just imagine the things a fictional parrot could say when a young lady enters the world of Tinder. It’s brilliant.

Nicola May’s writing style flows easily and well. I think this Author must have a brain full of imagination as she has written quite a few books and all get amazing reviews. She writes fictionally about characters that you can empathise with, you can laugh and cry with. She writes stories that could be true, but you are glad you are not embroiled in all those mix ups and craziness.

Will Tinder work out for Cali?? You will have to read to find out. But prepare for a good read, some laughs and some cringes along the way.

Cali enjoys her Tinder fun in Room 102 . If I ever stay in a room 102 again, I will always think of Cali and Nicola May. This is definitely a book I recommend to all chick lit lovers and especially anyone who has any experience of Tinder. If like me you haven’t then I still recommend this book to you for the amusement it will give you.

A funny easy read with great characters and a lot of Love Me Tinder- ing! ❤

I have to admit, Chick Lit is not my usual choice but as I had organised this promo for Nicola I decided it would be good to read and review the book as well.

I took to Hotel Events Manager Cali straight away. Having spent twelve years with Jamie Summers, getting married seemed the natural thing to do. But nine months after the wedding they are divorcing because he now wants to be with his blond bimbo trainer Bella. In the middle of her divorce, Cali is not in a good place. However, she has great support from gay receptionist Adam who encourages her to download the Tinder Dating App and go out and find herself some male distraction. This she does with some very interesting results. At the same time she finds herself pulled in to other peoples’ problems – her boss Marcus, best friend Annie and Events Coordinator, Louise. And despite leaving her for Bella, Jamie keeps turning up at her flat, making everything even more complicated.

I loved this story. All the way through I wanted Cali to have a happy ending. The internet dating world was a real minefield – men who lie about their age, download misleading photos, lie about their marital status – Cali seemed to come across them all. There were great support characters plus an abusive grey African parrot, all which made for lots of laugh out loud moments. A thoroughly enjoyable read.

And does Cali get that happy ending I wanted so much for her? Well, sorry, you’ll have to buy the book to find out.

I would like to thank Nicola for a pre-publication copy of Love Me Tinder in exchange for an honest review.

This was a funny (laugh out loud in places) book - a perfect holiday read. An eclectic mix of characters and at first you cannot believe Calis antics (I won't give anything away) and I went from feeling slightly exasperated with her to feeling sorry for her. But not to worry - she isn't a complete pushover and the outcome isn't what I had at first feared.
This is my first book by Nicola May but it certainly won't be my last and I would like to thank her for my advance copy in exchange for an honest review. I would recommend this book and the author.

This is my second one star read for the year (and probably my second in the past 10 years). What is happening in 2023?

I must take some of the blame for this rating though as I bought this on a kindle sale thinking it was going to be a nice rom-com given the title/cover and I stupidly didn't read the blurb. I love reading romances so I went in thinking it was going to be fun. I was about 10% in when I went "HELL NO! THIS IS CHICK LIT". If there is one genre I HATE it it chick lit. I should have DNF'd, but I needed to finish 5 books before the end of the month for reading challenges and seriously....how bad could this be?

This was NOT my book. I am not saying it is bad because it depends on what you like to read. All I was saying was I personally did not like this book to the point where I couldn't give it anymore than 1 star (which I hate doing...but my rating is based on my experience). The lead character was vain and just plain gullible and I really disliked her which is the kiss of death in this genre. This book was one tinder con after another and every character was lying or cheating or deceiving. The dialogue was really cringy in places:

"I'm scared now, all these big trees and lightning"

I wish I could find something positive to say, but I can't. I really didn't like this. However, it has taught me a valuable lesson....don't be shallow and judge a book by its cover....read the blurb! :-P

DNF at 27%

It's been a long time since a book made me so ANNOYED. The writing is just so awful and I'm very upset that I actually paid money for this.

I refuse to believe this was written by an adult woman because it sounds more like a horny 13-year-old, trying to imagine how adults talk and behave.

Cali was conscious of her white bra and protruding nipples on show through her shirt

She sat down, revealing far too much of her 34D cleavage

'Oh, here he is at last', the plump, big breasted woman shouted dramatically.

There was nothing on TV. She had always said that only boring people got bored, but tonight she was bored.

That makes two of us.

'So what's an east end boy doing in a sleepy town like this?'
'Plumbing,' he laughed. 'Good with my hands you know.' Just him saying that turned Cali on.

Really?

Also, the author seems to be a very big fan of the word "likened". In the span of ~10 pages we get:
his wonderful moustache likened him to a younger Poirot

In fact, she likened him to one of her favourite England rugby players
(because he was tall...)

To summarize my review - UGH.
