I’ve been captured.

Don’t even get me started on how pissed off I am. My rage is raging.

Azrael is the most powerful vampire I’ve ever encountered, and I hate knowing I can’t beat him. He’s brought me to this creepy cave because he thinks he can synthesize a cure for vampirism from my pure Vocari blood.

I think he’s insane.

Doesn’t really matter, though. If I don’t do what Azrael wants, he says he’s going to hurt my guys. I can’t allow that. With no other option, I decide to be a good little Rose until I can find a way out of this mess.

But while I’m preoccupied with one ancient vampire, I discover there’s another out for my blood. Azrael plans to wield it. The other wants only to spill it.

It seems I’ve been caught in a game of celestial tug-of-war between the two oldest and strongest vampires on earth.

What else could possibly go wrong?

2 stars minimal improvements were made in comparison to book 1. The story arc & plot continues to feel directionless & sloppily put together. The plot holes are becoming glaringly large & it’s an incredibly shallow predictable story. As far as characters go the h is officially a dumb ass, the 3 bff turned vampire boyfriends aren’t very complex characters. The only character I enjoyed is Azreal. He seems to have a bit more character depth in comparison. In short I’m let down. I expected a kick ass h but she’s constantly in need of saving. She’s a halfwit with a low survival rate.

This is not a series I’d recommend. I will not be continuing this series.

Bad read. Hate the "let's add another guyy to the harem and let's make him the enemy first" theme...

DNFing the book and the whole series

Provoke me

This book picks up without missing a beat from book one. And while I really enjoyed reading and listening to the audiobook of it, there are times I just want to smack Rose upside the head. Not sure why, but she just kinda of annoyed me during this book.... but I did enjoy it and will keep reading it because of the other characters and the story itself.

*I received a free copy of this book which I voluntarily chose to write an honest review for.

Things are really getting good now! We pick up right where we left off with Rose as a prisoner pretty much by what she thinks is the vamp that murdered her mom. Things are not always what they seem though as we learn during the progression of the story. Rose is still one strong woman who constantly fights for herself as well as her men. Full of twists and surprises leading to a fantastic cliff hanger that will leave you yearning for book three. I really liked it so I give it 4/5 stars.

Much better👌🏽

Okay I was reluctant to read this one because I wasn’t too fussed with the first but this was so much better!

There we’re still a few grammar/spelling mistakes but otherwise good!

🔥 a bid of m/m and bondage in this one by the way super hot🔥

The storyline is coming along so well I was sucked in straight away this time and I couldn’t put the book down I super excited about what’s to come especially with how Azrael fits in Roses life. I hope there’s something more though.

There are hot and steamy scenes, there are twists and turns that will make your head spin and yep there’s a cliffhanger! I just love Rose and her harem and cannot wait for the next read!

Wow! This book was amazing, so good. The action and heat was intense and I ate up the pages. Rose and her guys are hot together. Thoroughly enjoyed this reunion and the plot is different and exciting. Wishing I didn't have to wait until February for the next book though...boo lol

One sitting action packed read. Azrael is still a bit of a mystery but one worth solving. Rose is a bit confused by him and not sure how to handle him. Lots of steamy scenes. One of my favorite series by Elena.

I think I’m in love! God I love Azrael!!! What a mysteriously sexy hunk of man meat even with long hair (not my usual type). Great action, interesting character growth and fantastic commentary. Literally the best description for this book! So good. I absolutely cannot wait for the next book!

Amazing sequel!

I can't even with the cliffhangers, lol! This series is just to short or I got to read slower. This book was so good, isn't going to be torture waiting for the next book!

Overall the book is good/ok. There are some disjointed, unsupported story elements that are jarring.

In book 1, the MC is institutionalized for saying that a vampire killed her mom. She also admits to not knowing much about vampires. Yet in book 2, a vampire hires a witch to place a ward and the MC and the men are surprised because it’s against the law for a witch to do that for another non-witch supernatural. Implying that there is a larger organized governing body in this world. Yet she was institutionalized for saying a vampire killed her mother. One of the boyfriend’s even went to college to take a class on supernaturals. The conflicting information is jarring. There is no reference to any sort of governing structure. I have no idea if supernaturals are known, not known, covering up. Nothing has been told about it. Only confusing and conflicting throw away comments.

All the places listed are in the US with no hint of other worlds and yet in book 2 it comes out there are other realms. No backstory and no further info. The mc who has very little knowledge of supernaturals was like oh, other realms..ok...moving on. It was basically a couple of paragraphs with no context. No backstory to support it and no further info. All it did was confuse me and take me out of the story.

The big conflict at the end was as obvious as a cream pie to the face and as tired and worn out. It really ruined the entire book. Though the book really wasn’t all that original or fresh to begin with.

The Last Vocari 2

Total Score: 4/5

Summary:
The story picked up where the last one ended with Rose basically prisoner to the ancient vampire Azrael, but things may not be exactly what they seem. Azrael may be an ancient vampire with abilities and strength beyond most vampires, but what he wants the most is the same thing as Rose’s guys, to walk in the sun once more. As Rose is the last Vocari she might hold the key to this if they can find a way. Azrael is more aware of Rose’s feelings than she realized until he allows her to return to the guys for a short visit. Rose’s strength lies with her guys who will do anything for her, even if that means to stand up against Azrael knowing they could never win.

The search for a cure may lie within Rose, but Azrael may need the guys help to attain their goal if they can keep Rose alive long enough. The danger lies with Azraels own brother who has vowed to take Rose at any costs.

This is a fast paced and intricate story that held me spellbound. The story ended with a cliff hanger and I can’t wait to find out what happens next. The audio-book version added depth and unique flare to each character as their story unfolded.

Book 2 in this vampire series by Elena Lawson is an improvement from Book 1 (not that book 1 was bad but I was even more invested in Provoke Me!). While I was listening I was hoping we would see more and more vulnerable moments from Azrael and we didnt get much but I think that will change in future books. I think he is going to be my favorite (I am still not 100% about Blake, we get to learn more about him but I am not as connected to him as I am with the others). I enjoyed the back and forth between Rose and Azrael and even his snarky housekeeper/work/slave in the hideout haha. I loved Azrael lets Rose reunite with her guys (won't give away anything else) and how he did small gestures to show he still has a heart and might have a soft spot for Rose. I enjoyed the big reveal and let's say its a cool concept and I enjoyed the twists in this book too. Some I could figure out beforehand, but there were a couple I hadn't. I love the tension and heat between Rose and her guys, I cannot wait for more!

The narration was really good on this one, no complaints from me. Addison does a good job with the additional voices and I think her inflections are pretty spot on. She does a better job distinguishing between the male characters.

Definitely recommend, 4-4.5 stars from me ❤️

Give me more Azrael!!!

I absolutely love the character of Azrael and I’m hoping he will be added into the harem as the series progresses. I can see it going either way at this point so I’m eager to see how the author will have this character play out. It may be some Stockholm syndrome but I absolutely love him and his demeanor.

I am excited for the turn this series has taken with the plot in regards to Rose and what she could possibly do for the vampire species. I had figured it was going to solely be just a revenge plot but the added element of the Vocari and the importance of Rosemary blood makes it more exciting and unique from the typical vampire romance.

The little bits of BDSM was well done and not over the top so for those who aren’t into that type of thing, this is pretty tame compared to others I’ve read. The MM isn’t over the top either and you really only see it during 1 scene in this book and Rose is involved. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good smutty MM RH read.

This is book 2 of a completed series, I bought on kindle and on Audible too.

Rose is the FMC and she is just awesome - independent, fierce, kicks sooo much ass and yet broken and vulnerable too. In book 1, she had unexpectedly met up with her three childhood besties (who it turned out had been looking for her for AGES). Book 2 helps diminish any confusion that might have lingered in book 1 as they try to bring their old lives into a new and current relationship.

Frost continues to be a slight alpahole, Blake an enigma but book 2 is stolen by Ethan entirely... no spoilers, just wow....

Fast paced, funny quick witted dialogue between the four and pretty much anyone else they come across. Have gone onto buy so many more of Elena Lawson's books.

I am enjoying the story so far though at times theFMC makes some rather questionable decisions. It did irritate me a bit, but I would not say that it has negatively impacted on the reading experience. I like Azrael and to be perfectly honest, I can see a solid bond forming there, the type of connection that starts with distrust, personal agenda and hesitation but as the characters face obstacles together, it starts to blossom into something else. Perhaps because the other three guys have history with the heroine, their relationship kind of blurs, it is there and they surely love each other, however it seems like there is no progression.
Off to the next book as the hunt for the last Vocari is on the go.

Are you a damsel or are you the Black Rose?

So. The story continues and is good, but not the greatest I’ve read by this author.
I’m still a little cross with how the female main character is supposed to be this infamous assassin - vampire serial killer and all around bad*ss and yet, she gets taken out more often than not. Like dude you have a code name whispered in the night out of fear from your victims....
Yet she uses words like “powerless,” etc. in situations where she’s been knocked down.
But like, those are the biggest scenes to show off how skillful, smart, and powerful she is supposed to be. I need her to buck up something fierce.

Now Ethan's working with Azrael on finding a cure with Rose's blood. When Azrael allows them to go home for the weekend to visit Frost and Blake, Ethan figures out a way to use her blood as a sunscreen. Now the boys can come out during the day and not be harmed.

When Azrael hears this, he knows that all 4 of them need to be protected. But getting them out of Baton Rouge wasn't enough. Because Raphael, his crazy brother, starts chaos the minute they leave town. No one wants to miss a good fight, so the 4 of them return to fight Rafe. But he takes things to another level and leaves dead bodies everywhere.

Will they survive?

A must read.

Great Second Book

Rose's journey continues in this second book. In both the first and second book I had a real sense of Rose's youth in both her thoughts and actions. She is impulsive, sometimes easily distracted and goes all in with both feet. The time line as you learn more back story can be a little confusing. Rose does grow with some self reflection but not too much. I found the typos and spelling errors a little distracting in both books.

A Fantastic Story!!!!!

Oh what a tangled web we weave. This is just an amazing story. It is so full of action, drama, suspense, and sexy hot scenes. It is extremely well written and the characters have grown drastically. We have learned so much about Rose and Blake. We see how they all have come together to be who they are. This is a must read and doesn’t disappoint!!!!!

Color me intrigued...

Book one was great and I instantly jumped into book two. Well color me intrigued because I’m so grabbing book three now. My only sadness is that I thought it was a trilogy (but now I get even more awesome story so that frown turned upside down!). I’m rather curious as to how this will all play out...

Paranormal

This is the second book in this series, please tell me this doesn't go on for loads of books, i dont mind i just feel like it's getting close to a form of ending and then a chuffing nother cliffhanger, i would hate for this to go on for too long, as i know i get bored and I'm not the only one, you can't read this without the previous one.

I was so ready to jump into Provoke Me! We get more steamy action with three guys with completely different personalities. I loved getting more insight into the past as well as some major action scenes. The ending left me so pumped for the next book!
