4 heart pounding romances from Mallory Crowe! Each of these stand alone books has a smoking hot alpha, strong heroines and impossible odds. A billionaire and his secretary... An heiress and a private investigator... A waitress and a con man... And two competing thieves each out for the biggest payday of their lives... This sampler set has heat, laughs and enough heart to spare! With over 600 ★★★★★ five star reviews on the books included in this set, it's a guaranteed good time (and sleepless night...)
Mallory Crowe has lived in Michigan her whole life and has been in love with romance ever since she'd skip to the end of every novel, just to make sure the hero and heroine survived and ended up together. She lives with her husband and three dogs. When she's not writing, she's spending too much time in front of the TV, hiking, or working with various animal rescues.
I have read all of the books in this boxset, each of which is well written, highly entertaining, and a standalone.
Teaching the Boss: This book was my introduction to Mallory Crowe and I immediately signed up for her newsletter. April, who is a part-time student and Luke's administrative assistant for 6 years, finds herself caught up in the twisted feud between Luke and his father Donald. I enjoyed the mix of wit and the tempo at which this book moved.
Touching Jace: This is one of my favorite books by this author. It has wit, tension, suspense, romance, and all the ingredients for an enjoyable read. Emma is a naive academic, who has lived a sheltered life, but finds herself with unanswered questions when her sister Joslyn is arrested for murder. She decides on the direct approach and goes to New York to find answers. Jace is hired by Emma's cousins, with the request to keep her from finding the truth, and Jace finds himself caught between a rock and a hard place, especially when Emma is placed in the crosshairs of a killer. A thoroughly enjoyable read that kept me turning the pages late into the night.
Ruthless: Colin is a complex person and not always honorable. I have a deep aversion to manipulation and lies, either as a recipient or seeing it happen to someone else. Consequently, I struggled to get into the book at first as Colin conducted an all-out campaign of lies and manipulation to force Jean into achieving his goals. I found that part of the book very uncomfortable and read it with one eye shut. Once we got over that, however, I really began to enjoy the book and the developing relationship between Colin and Jean, who is one of those people you can't help but love. As always Ms. Crowe's writing is well constructed and easy to read, with plenty of surprises.
Cocky Thief: does not disappoint. I didn't think I would enjoy this book given that it was about professional thieves on their largest heist. However, as the story unfolds your sympathies are drawn to the characters and you want them to achieve their goal, especially considering the despicable characters they are pitted against. Austin and Jenifer are slick, sophisticated characters, but there is an underlying vulnerability that makes them very likable. Their connection grabs you from the start and despite their lifestyle, you just know that they will eventually become a match made in heaven. There are high drama and adventure, and the reader is kept glued to the pages all the way to the end.
Read this as part of a four-part romance book by Mallory Crowe (Meet Cute: Four Heart Pounding Romances From Mallory Crowe)
This was the fourth in the book, and I struggled with a lot of this story. From the first sexual interaction to the entire premise of the story, all the way to the end where there's really no resolution to the story. Yes, there's a HEA and it's a standalone, but part of a series.
Slapdash is the word that suits this tripe. The plots & the characters are one dimensional. There are so many editorial gaffes, it's evident that no professional editing was ever done. (Meaningless word salad sentences, missing words, incorrect words, storyline inconsistencies, abominable grammar, etc) I'll pass on this 'writer'.
Four novels with a bunch of interesting characters and four happy endings.
Well written, action adventure with a dollop of romance describes these stories pretty well. Worth grabbing and reading, these keep you interested with their diverse plot lines. Thanks ladies!
Not sure about the "heart pounding" or "romances" but Mallory Crowe has a talent for varied suspenseful romances. No cliffhangers but enough clues that one would like to continue the series. Of the four I would definitely want to continue two of them
I loved these books and thoroughly enjoyed the settings, story lines, characters and the writing style of this author. Planning to read more in each these series.
All of these books were good and I enjoyed them all. I liked the suspense that each story had and all of the characters were just right. Thank you for these interesting stories, I enjoyed them.
I have read other stories from Mallory, but this was a nice grouping of first stories in each of her series. They tease and make you want to read more.
