The GLAM Witch: A Magical Manifesto of Empowerment with the Great Lilithian Arcane Mysteries

Rate this book
Lilith has been feared, worshipped, analyzed, and dissected by many, yet she remains an enigma cloaked in a riddle of witchcraft. Today, she has found a place of elevation as a quintessential goddess in an array of occult practices, revered for her fierce independence, carnal appetite, and thirst for equality. THE GLAM WITCH plants the practice of modern witchcraft in Lilith's garden of glittery fruit. Laid out over a sparkling assemblage of chapters, a modern mystic will explore the theory, practice, and lifestyle of the Great Lilithian Arcane Mysteries (GLAM). Learn Lilith's story and how to apply her archetype to a magical path. Open your third eye to intuition with signs and synchronicity. Discover Lilith's astrological significance to help navigate the shadow self. Witch-craft a glamour poppet for attraction and beauty. Embrace your sexuality to harness power through orgasm. Neutralize negativity with the application of bitchcraft. Loaded with spells and rituals to cultivate confidence, sizzle with sensuality, and stand up to adversity, THE GLAM WITCH is a guide to spiritual empowerment and establishing unapologetic authenticity through magical means.

Such an inspiring, empowering, rebellious and wonderful book on one of the most misunderstood deities in history. I've been working with Lilith as my patron deity ever since I started on my path as a witch, so it really resonated with me on so many levels. Although the 'GLAM' philosophy presented here isn't quite my aesthetic (as I do lean more towards the LHP side of things), there's enough wisdom and insight on Lilith and how to incorporate her into one's daily life that this is still a vital and important book for me in my path.

A fantastic guidebook to Lilithian magick. So glad I found it. Highly recommended for any practitioner curious about working with this beautiful and badass goddess (especially those who may feel a little intimidated by her).

I really enjoyed this book. While I might not mirror the GLAM Witch *exactly* in my own practice, there were a lot of really great rituals played out in this book. I'm going to practice one from the shadowcraft chapter with some tweaks. I also really enjoyed (and wanted more of) the historical background of Lilith as we know her today. I'm so glad there's a bibliography in the back -- I'll be doing even more reading on my own.

Loved Michael's writing style, and the upfront "this is how I've built my own practice, but make yours your own" nature of the advice. It was a very knowledgeable but humble way to present a very personal approach to Lilithian worship.

An incredible book on Lilith. Misunderstood, demonized, forgotten and so on, this Goddess has come back, and this time it is to stay! Michael Herkes has a great style which makes it easy to read this book, which, by the way, includes a lot, A LOT, of information about Lilith and her histoy, myths and Craft.

It's clear that this was a labor of love for the author. He thoroughly explores the many facets of Lilith and challenges himself and the reader to relate the all of the highs and lows of the Goddess.
Much of the book is taken up with ritual instructions and recipes that will no doubt benefit some, but may not have been so relevant to me. Even saying that, it is a credit to the book that it covers so many topics in its pages, all in the name of devotion to Lilith.
Overall, this was a pleasant and informative read. It was like having a conversation with a genuine person of faith who wasn't preachy, rather simply enthusiastic.

Mind blown, the author is so freaking thorough. Thought provoking and engaging. If you are curious about lillith, even just a bit, this book is ideal.

I love this book. The author has many interesting ways of portraying Lilith that I hadn't heard of or considered before reading this book. A must read for anyone considering working with Lilith.

The bio for this book says it about Lilith but it's not.

I enjoyed this witchy and bitchy read! My favourite crafts were the Lilithian pentacle spread and the libation recipes. I didn’t personally vibe with some of the astrology takes tho.

When I entered the giveaway for this book back in late 2019, I mistakenly assumed it was a fantasy novel about a glamorous witch. I expected an lgbt+ fluffy fantasy, so I was excited when I won the giveaway... and then a bit disappointed to discover this is not even a fictional book but rather an educational one on supernatural, religious lore.

I tried to give it a chance, because I do generally find lore interesting, but I kept stalling out. I'm not sure if the writing or the subject matter (or a combination thereof) is to blame, but this book does absolutely nothing for me.

Two years later, it's time to admit I'm never going to finish this.

This was a great beginners book for not only learning about working with Lilith but learning about witchcraft itself. I very much enjoyed reading this book and I learned a lot from it! I'm extremely interested in learning more about Lilith and working with her!

One thing I will say is that this book does briefly talk about smudging but it fails to mention that smudging is apart of a closed practice. Please do outside research into smudging and cultural appropriation.

I absolutely loved it! I really felt the love the author had for Lilith while reading it (even teared up at a moment but I'm a cancer so take that with a grain of salt lol). I look forward to trying some of the oil recipes in the book and adapting some of the rituals intomy own practice. Great read!
