She must be a witch because she has made him "nice"

So the question is exactly is the catch of the day???
Is it the shredder lobster that Maine fisherman Zeke hauls in each day?
Is it the beautiful, sweet and curvy Daya?
Is it Zeke himself?
Or is it Gus, Zeke's hound dog who is a hound in more ways than one?

Catch of the Day is the story of Zeke and Daya, and let's not forget Gus, and how they are matched by the wonderful and smart Mona Zaftig.
Zeke Tannerman is thirty-eight years old and a commercial fisherman out of the small town of Merritt, Maine who had never lived anywhere else. He comes from a long line of Maine fisherman with his family being one of the founding families of Merritt. He lives by his grandfather's maxim, "a bad day spent fishing is still a pretty damn good day." While the single ladies in town consider him "husband material" and his younger sister Addie is forever trying to set him up, but he is not interested, or at least no one has captured his interest. Instead he fishes with his best friend Pete and his dog Gus and goes about his life. That is until one day he is delivering his daily catch to his friend Dennis's restaurant, Catch of the Day, when he hears a sweet voice asking him a question. When he turns around he sees a beautiful and curvy young waitress and a stab of desire hits him in his belly, like he hasn't felt in a long time.
Daya Rivers is twenty-three, has just moved to Merritt and is working as a waitress at Catch of the Day. She is a wanderer, never finding a place that felt like home. She she sees Zeke she is intrigued and thinks he is good looking. When his sister Addie and her friend Sarabeth come in to the restaurant for lunch just after Zeke leaves she cannot believe that Zeke and Addie are related, much less brother and sister. They are about as opposite as you can get in every way.
The next day Zeke is all ready with a conversation starter for Daya when he opens the kitchen door at Catch of the Day. But it is Gus who lets out bark that brings her out the door. Gus is all over her when she squats down and opens her arms to him. He slides in, puts his head on her shoulder and closes his eyes with a smile on his face. Zeke is "not jealousy" even though he wants to kick the dog out of the way!!! Before he leaves Zeke asks Daya out for that night and he picks her up when she gets off work, taking her back to his house.

This is another successful match by the Zaftig Dating Agency but it will take the help of Gus to really seal the deal between Daya and Zeke. It seems the perpetual wanderer is ready to grow some roots in a small town in Maine. I love this series and have'n eaten more than a few Maine shredder lobster rolls I can just picture the tall, handsome, built, sexy, "strong silent type" that is fisherman Zeke. Just makes my mouth water thinking about it............the lobster roll that is!!!

The theme of this series is that sometimes fate needs a little help getting deserving people together. Welcome to the files of the Zaftig Dating Agency, where alpha men find the women of their dreams! The potential match this time is between Zeke Tannerman, a 38-year-old lobster fisherman; and Daya Rivers, a 23-year-old waitress at Catch of the Day restaurant where Zeke sells his lobsters, new to the Maine area in her search for a place that feels like home -- and not sure she really wants to stay.

Zeke headed for Catch of the Day. The cook was an old school friend, Dennis, and Zeke kept the best of his lobsters for him. As they talked about the bad weather the week before, a sweet voice asked if that was typical Maine weather? Zeke was immediately drawn to her and asked where she was from – which astounded his cook friend who knew he wasn’t much of a talker. He even teased her that if the rain upset her, he wouldn’t tell her about the Maine snow!

Addie Brown and Sarabeth Holley arrived at the restaurant right after Zeke left. Daya told them they just had fresh lobster delivered, and Addie told her Zeke was her brother. The two of them were as different as night and day. Zeke is quiet, but Addie is flamboyant. When Zeke came in the following day and heard that Daya met Addie, he groaned at knowing he lost his chance with her. But the two of them joked easily with each other, and Zeke’s dog, Gus, won her heart. When Zeke warned her against letting his sister work on her hair – because she was beautiful just the way she was (oops, he hadn’t meant to say that out loud) – she gets teasing and sassy and gives him the courage to pull her close and gives her the chance to wrap her arms around him and kiss him! Is this the start of something between them that can last forever? Will she get that feeling of home she has always been looking for?

These stories are so addicting! In a short amount of time, the reader will adore the characters and wish only the best for them. The author is fantastic in allowing the reader to experience the real emotions of the characters. The story line is well-paced and draws the reader right in. Grab your copy and thoroughly enjoy how two loving people (and an adorable dog) are beginning to fall in love. Will this be another successful secret match?

Zeke Tannerman 38 and he’s a lobster fisherman his sister Adelaide referred him and says that he uses the isolation of his job to stop people getting too close.
Daya Rivers 23 she’s a waitress and new in the area and she’s unsure if she’s going to stay.
The meeting place Catch of the Day where Daya works and it’s where Zeke sells his lobsters. Zeke meets Daya at the restaurant when he’s giving the cook and his old friend Dennis the lobsters his eyes nearly bug out of his head Daya is absolutely gorgeous curves in all of the right places and he’s never felt this way about a woman before. Dennis the owner asked Daya if she was a witch because Zeke never has a conversation with anyone including him and Daya blushes.
Clients Zeke and Daya.
Result I will let you find that out for yourself.
I loved this story it’s chuckle worthy and it’s a fantastic read and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.

This is a new ARC book by Jane Fox and it's about the that famous matchmaker Mona Zaftig, that runs Zaftig Dating Agency. This book features ZEKE and DAYA.
Zeke a fisherman just like his grandfather and is father before him. Zeke would rather be on his boat, then anywhere else and is a very unpleasant person to be around. But when he went to his favorite restaurant after his morning on the ocean, he met the new waitress, a beautiful girl, he was instantly smitten.
Daya is new in town and new to the Catch Of The Day restaurant, when she met Zeke and was taken by him being nice and very handsome, but she was also surprised to know that people thought of him as a person hard to get to know, when he was nothing but very polite.
This looks like a match made in Maine.
I am volunteering to leave a review for a ARC of this book.

I really liked this short but sweet story. The characters were great and there wasn't any angst.

Zeke is a commercial fisherman so he's a busy guy. His sister is constantly trying to get him to date but he doesn't want the distraction. That changes when he meets Daya. Zeke wants to be around her and she's all he thinks about.

Daya is new to town and the state of Maine. She moves around a lot and isn't sure that Maine’s the place for her. When Daya meets a buff bearded fisherman named Zeke, she figures she will see where things lead her.

This is instalove at it's finest. I need Mona Zaftig to matchmake for me! LOL Zeke and Daya are so sweet together. Gus was awesome and I loved how he got introduced to Daya. I loved their happy ever after. I recommend reading this book.

Daya is a bit of a vagabond as she settles in Maine and goes to work for The Catch of Day Diner, where she meets Zeke as lobster fisherman who comes from a fishing family. He’s nearing 40 and hasn’t been intrigued enough to by any woman so far to settle down. It’s just Zeke and his trusty dog. Well, Daya makes a big impression on the dog but that doesn’t compare to the impression she leaked on Zeke. This is a very short, very sweet rom-com by Jane Fox. There’s little explanation as to how Mona arrives at choosing Daya for Zeke but it apparent that she chose well. No surprise in the storyline, but I gave an extra star for impressive editing.

Catch of the day is book thirteen in the zaftig dating agency series. This story is short, fast paced and an enjoyable read. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline enjoyable. Zeke is a fisherman that doesn’t have time for love. That soon changes when he meets Daya. Daya is new in town and is a waitress. When Zeke walks through the door, she is instantly attracted.
The chemistry between Zeke and Daya is clear to see and I liked them as a couple. I thought they made a cute pair.
I really liked the ending and the epilogue for this story.
The storyline for this book is easy to follow and it is an enjoyable read. I cannot wait for more books from this series.

Mona Zaftig Dating Agency’s newest couple to get together are Zeke Tannerman and Daya Rivers. In Catch of the Day, Zeke a quiet Maine fisherman content with his life but pressured by his sister that he is “husband material” meets Daya a waitress. Daya is trying to decide if she wants to stay in Maine she is a loner and has travelled a lot! She is trying to find her place in the world. When Zeke meets Daya they hit it off right away and Zeke is very open and fun around Days. Both of them feel a connection immediately. Will Daya stay in Maine read it and see! Absolutely love this series the books are quick reads and lots of fun!

Amazing as always! I just love these over the top, short romances. The matchmaker that no one sees! Such an unusual idea! At the beginning of each story, we're given a short character synopsis and told how the matchmaker plans for them to meet. In this story, meeting seems inevitable given that Zeke is a fisherman, and each day delivers fresh catch to the restaurant where Daya is a waitress. Fate, in the form of Mona Zaftig, intervenes and these two end up with the love of a lifetime! The perfect read for a quick lunch or a short break from the daily grind.

This is yet another great addition to this series. It’s fun, sweet, and steamy. Daya is a nomad going where she chooses when she chooses, and Zeke is a fishermen hoping to have her make a home with him. I loved the characters even Gus (who honestly probably shouldn’t be my favorite but is definitely in the running). He is such a good boy. Honestly I don’t know how this author churns out these amazing stories so quickly.

Beautiful.

This short story had a little bit of everything: action, adventure, drama, romance, sensual scenes and suspense. The story was good and it flowed along smoothly. The characterizations were all good, including the ensemble cast members. What I especially like about the story was the friendship and camaraderie shown by the main female character and her two best friends; unconditional love and support.

Another fast fun read in the Zaftig dating series A dating agency where the people don't even know they are been set up for a date as they are nominated by a friend or family member This is Zeke and Daya's story.

She is a new transplant to Maine while he is a lobster man whose family has been there for generations The attraction when he comes to deliver lobster to the restaurant where she works is instant and the fact that his dog Gus loves her as much as she loves him is the final seal. Can he convince her that Maine is the place where she should finally settle down

A quick steamy over the top read. This is the thirteenth book in this must read series. This is the story of Zeke and Daya. Daya is trying to find her home. She is working in a diner when Zeke, the fisherman who brings in the catch of the day. Zeke likes being on the sea and has no time for love. That all changes when he see Daya. These two are drawn to one another and their story is a great read. Looking forward to the next book in this must read series.

i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the instant love story between fisherman Zeke and waitress Daya. Zeke grew up in the small town and was happy just to fish. Zeke's sister thought he should settle down and find a wife, but Zeke was never interested and was known as being very grumpy, until he saw Daya. Daya never settled in any town and she found herself in Maine. When she met Zeke, she felt an attraction to the older man. I loved this sweet but steamy story. I really love this series and this was another great one.

Daya Rivers has been a wonderer for a while. It seems that arriving in Merritt is now a perk for her wondering feet. She. Meets Zeke the fisherman who delivers the lobster to the restaurant she now works at. For someone who is “grouchy”, he is talkative and interested in Daya. A date almost a week later leads to her wondering if her traveling feet are finally home. No cliffhanger. And lobster for life.

This story is way too short. Some stories feel like they are not missing a lot when written short, but this one - is definately NOT in that category. This one feels way too short and that there are a lot of parts missing to make it complete. Sorry about this view but I have to be honest about it. Three stars is already quite generous but I feel three is in order for it.

Catch of the Day was another great addition to the Zaftig Dating Agency Series by Jane Fox. Zeke is a lobster fisherman in the tiny town of Merritt, Maine who gets set up by his sister. Daya is a waitress at Catch of the Day Restaurant who catches the eye of Zeke. Daya considers herself a nomad, moving from state to state never feeling like she belongs. But after meeting Zeke, it looks like Daya has finally found her home. Loved their story and looking forward to the next one.

Zeke is a lobster fisherman, and he's not very sociable. Daya is a young waitress, a bit of a nomad looking for the place that feels like "home", but not sure if this is it. Mona works her magic to set them up... Zeke knows she's it, and so does everyone else - he's talking to her. They're perfect together. And Gus - what a cutie! - he's such a little scene stealer. Looking forward to see what Mona does next...

Another great Zaftig Dating Agency match with Zeke and Daya. He is a thirty eight year old fisherman in Maine like all the men in his family while Daya is a twenty three year old curvy wanderer never finding her home until she meets Zeke and his lovable dog Gus. Loved this romance with some great funny characters plus Gus the dog.

I loved Zeke and his introverted ways. It's only when he sees and meets Daya that the quiet fisherman's voice makes an appearance. He's sexy and sweet and knows just exactly who he wants when he sees her. They have an instant connection and fell in love with them. I also liked the other characters in the story.

I love this Zaftig series, so they are one-click with lightning speed for me. This book was a short read, instant love, safe, HEA with a sassy curvy girl and a quiet older man. Zeke had given up on love and Daya was looking for a spot to call home. Before Daya could move along, she meets Zeke and sparks fly! The heat between these two is satisfying and intense. I love these stories!

Personal preference, could've done without his sister's friend telling heroines they dated and it didn't work out. Only to learn it was one date. But still, we're told his sister has tried to set him up with her friends and he's gone on the dates, which means heroine will now be surrounded by these same women every day regardless of the number of dates he had with each and the extent of how far they went (though it's implied it never progressed to that stage with any of them). Again, but still.
