Lily and Gunner
Lily's famous mother goes to Sutton Smith to hire him and his security team to help protect her from a stalker and protect her daughter who she hasn't seen in 6 years. Not since she left when she was 18. Only now the stalker is not only threatening her, but, her daughter's life. Is Bella Jewel being honest? Then when Sutton asks if she knows where Lily is she tells him she has always known as she had a tracking device implanted in her cheek when she had a wisdom tooth taken care of before she left without her permission or knowledge, which Sutton informs her is illegal! Only the diva doesn't care. Then after Gunner is assigned and already met Lily, a few days later, somehow it gets leaked that Bella has hired Sutton and that he and his team are trying to find the stalker. After Bella denies it was her who leaked the story a few days later, it leaks that Gunner has kidnapped her daughter and is going to kill her! What? Sutton has a lot of PR damage control to do! This was a great story on Jex Steele and his manager etc. for 6 years as they each fell in love but would not tell each other until it was too late. After an amazing career in stunt and daredevil antics Jex was injured badly from the last stunt he did. He ended up with a very badly broken and smashed right leg so badly damaged that he would never do his dare devil stunts again. In his recovery process he turned the love of his manager away because he did not think he deserved to have her help him through his recovery and she deserved a chance to make good on her career , so he thought. In the end with the love of his family he made a recovery and finally admitted his love for her and asked her to marry him and help him carry on his work with children in need. This is my review and mine alone. Norma Gorrill

Sweet Edge-of-Your-Seat Romance
Gunner takes on protecting Lily, knowing her mom is a “little” crazy, but he can’t tell her. He does a great job being himself! Lily is pretty awesome too! I was pretty surprised when the conflict arrived! I loved the ending!

The story was awesome but the entire book was ruined by using AI to read the book!!!!!!!! AI mispronounced Ali’s name constantly! I was so upset listening to this book! I almost quit listening but I wanted to hear the ending. Please stop using AI.

Other than Lily slugging Gunner several times which seems abusive to me, grammatical errors, and having Bella be so over-the-top evil, this was a great romantic suspense.

Not for me
It's mostly a good read, but I'm not a fan of this "insta-love" thing. It's not even a love a first sight thing. It's meet, then love/lust. There's really nothing of substance happening between the characters. It's like they're supposed to be together because the author planned it that way. Not because they spend time together and bond and date. (I do feel like some trauma bonding comes into play a little.) There is a lot of ogling, on the woman's part. It gets really old really fast. And there is so much redundancy and internal speculation. It's like, there isn't anything else to fill up space, so we'll just repeat the same things.
The action sequences were redeeming. And exciting. Though, I read a different book first, and there were spoilers in it (not so much a stand alone series). So while exciting, the mystery was gone.
I'm not sure I'll take another chance and read this author again.

Action, suspense, and romance
I love Lily. She’s independent, feisty, and caring. Gunner is the BEST! He is serious and determined. He’s protective. But not controlling. He’s willing to let Lily be who she is and learn to fight for a cause. The chemistry between them is awesome. I love a man who is confident, but respectful enough to use self control when he should. And I love a fun, flirty woman who will accept people for who they are. If you want action, suspense, and romance, this is the book for you!

Gunner has to protect a young woman who doesn't want to be protected. Our hero starts out helping her see how much fun they can have together. Unfortunately the crazy mother sends bad men after them. Sutton gets them some help and with the help.of local police they get rid of the bad men. Gunner goes after the crazy mom, finds her and turns her in.
They get together with his family and in the end they might be getting hitched

He's there to protect her for her mother but she doesn't know it! He doesn't know how truly evil her mother is. Falling in love wasn't in the plan. Romance and suspense at it's best.

Exciting from the beginning, you'll experience a wild ride as Gunner tries to keep Lily safe from a stalkers plot. Definitely not your average stalker nor an average romance. Over the top excitement and very endearing characters.
