Wow, I had such fun reading this little book of great self-help tips to help you live a happier life. I found the artwork to be my most favorite part about this book. It had such a cool vintage style that I absolutely adored.
The tips, mantras and practical excises makes me want to actually apply the teachings rather than just reading it and putting it aside and forgetting about it. The writing style was also quirky and funny and I had a serious giggle or two while reading it.

Quotes and sayings I loved:

“Ensure you have a good support network of female friends. Nurture those relationships by spending time with them and enjoying their company. If your schedule is busy, make a point of touching base with a quick text or phone call to find out how they are.”
.
.
“ You are the queen of your world, even if you don’t always feel like it.”

More of a self help, good affirmations book. Not usually my thing but I like bees and has some cool facts/info about our bees as well as self help. So pleasantly surprised with this little one.

This book kinda came to me at just the right time.

Frustrated with a lack of connection with nature, myself, my job, others, etc., I have been feeling off lately.

This book and it’s adorable drawings and affirming words inspired me in just the right way. I feel ready to slow it down, buzz at a gentler vibration, and just bee.

(And yes - this book is a little woo-woo, and it made me realize that I too am a little woo-woo.)

“Every job is an important opportunity for growth” (p.57).

“Words are like pollen - they stick” (p.90).

“Bring some of that childhood joy into your life right now” (p.115).

“Job swapping is a regular occurrence in the hive. It’s how bees stay young, active and move forwards” (p.116).

“Play time delays time” (p.123).

“How can I go about my daily business in a more loving and positive manner?” (p.137).

“What could I change to feel more loving towards myself and others?” (p.137).

“Make peace and honey” (p.141).

The illustrations in this book are absolutely gorgeous! So beautifully done! Kudos to Emily Mayor for the illustrations and Katherine Keeble for the design. Really wonderful.
The writing in this book was fine. The pages that were a quote from another author were great- well chosen. There was much self-help talk and some silliness with using “she” for worker bees 🐝 and other stretches. While’s it’s fine to give analogies of bees, one cannot expect to be a queen bee and a worker bee at the same time. We can take aspects of each- but no one can be all things at all times, this kind of double talk makes it more difficult for women, rather than then the encouragement this book was supposed to be(e). So while it was not a super inspiring revelation — looking at this books quotes, lay out, and illustrations were absolutely enough for it to be worth the time it took to read.

This little gem of a book is filled with delightful quotes, affirmations and helpful tips to encourage you to live your best life. The gorgeous vintage artwork throughtout this little treasure adds to the overall whimsical nature of this book too. The bee is such an underestimated creature but definitely a creature of resilience and ingenuity. Even though this book is directed towards women, I feel that anyone can take something away from it's positivity. Everyone is free to bee-lieve, bee-positive and bee-grateful. 🐝

Did not finish

I picked this up and gave it a try to see if it’s something my sister would like, but it’s not my thing, so I’m not going to finish it.

It had way too much personification and humanisation of bees for me, but I can really see that working for someone else.
