That was a great way to end this series! I'm glad to see that all the loose ends were tied properly. I'm so happy for Aoi and Mahiru. Their love for each other was so pure and beautiful. I loved seeing Mahiru's growth. In the end, she finally learned to be more confident in herself and she finally got over her sister complex.
I will be wishing her and Aoi to have an amazing future together ♥ Just remember that if you fall in love, it's not the end of the world.
Wow, what a ride!! Taamo san's characters are complex and wonderful. The whole story was cute and entertaining. And when it came to the art, that too was amazing. Also, I loved the small bts chapters were the characters introduced us to the settings and the plot like really movie actors!! Overall, I loved this series.
I was deeply touched by how everything came together and just the amount of communication between multiple characters! It was extremely compelling and heart-moving that more than once I found myself tearing up.
I really really really loved the ending and feel so happy to have read this series! I was definitely nervous with how things were in the previous volume, but there were so many parts of this final volume that really spoke to me. Plus seeing Mahiru's overall journey of growing as an individual was amazing! Even Aoi's was too, but this was definitely Mahiru's story, and thankful I could see her story unfold. <3
Overall, I really enjoyed and loved this short series! It's very sweet and had a lot of heart that I wasn't expecting. (The art style is also gorgeous!) Would definitely recommend if you're looking for a short series that has characters who grow, a very sweet romance, and a moving and satisfying conclusion!
I'm writing this review at almost one in the morning, and it's with a smile on my face. This five volume manga was adorable! It was cute, romantic, relatable, and had nice art. I really enjoyed it, and would recommend it to fans of young adult romance. 5 stars! Oh, and I loved the chapter "Mirror"! it was very relatable, and it was nice to see Mahiru and Mayo actually fighting like sisters, and really getting their feelings out. They're closer now. :)
I am glad the sisters made up but... not gonna lie, it was kind of a dick move to fall in love with your sister's boyfriend and confess to him lol like how can you come back from that so easily?
This series has me in a chokehold. I can’t put into words how much I enjoyed reading this series and how much I related to the characters. I laughed and cried along with them. I will definitely re-read this series again.
Tying up all loose ends in one volume became a bit much for me—maybe just a bit too cloying and maudlin. I would have preferred another volume to pace out the resolutions better. However, the resolution of the sisters, Mahiru and Mayo, was handled extremely well. I predicted it would involve a scuffle because of the foreshadowing and soliloquy of Aoi regarding his siblings, but their resolution felt satisfying nevertheless. Mahiru and Aoi resolved things as expected, and their kiss scene was one of the nicest panels of art in the volume. I read this on my iPad and turned it sideways to see the splash page in full. I’m not sure it would have had the same impact on my Paperwhite.
I enjoyed how Taamo periodically allowed a silent panel with Mahiru’s face to tell the story. We didn’t need to be privy to her every thought. Sometimes, just seeing her face filled with emotion added that mystery of conversation with another person that made the scenes feel more real.
I also enjoyed watching Mahiru mature over the course of the story. Taamo began drawing Mahiru in clothing styles that older girls wear, setting her apart from Mayo’s cuteness, and visually depicting Mahiru’s maturity. It was a subtle, but effective touch.
I began this series thinking that I was getting it for my daughter. I ended up enjoying it for myself. It was a satisfying journey.
I’m in Love and It’s the End of the World, Vols. 1-5 by Taamo ⭐⭐⭐⭐
I really enjoyed reading this series despite there still being some confusion on my part at the end. I’ll discuss the major plot points under the spoiler tag.
Overall, this series is a solid four-stars for me. It’s got its issues, but it’s definitely worth a read.
Je me suis beaucoup attaché à eux.
I'm happy that everything was resolved, the sisters made up, the friends came to an understanding, Moriya had her heart broken, and Mahiru and Aoi are happy and in love.
However, this was definitely the weakest in terms of intrigue. I was a little bored to be honest. At least the flower field kiss was cute (though the fake wedding was a bit too cheesy for me).
Overall an okay series. Pretty wholesome and nice, of a little bland here and there.
I like this manga and can totally understand Mahiru's insecurities. Also those bad thoughts of wanting Aoi not being friends/meeting with her twin, Mayo. The end was kinda cheesy, but.. okay.
It was weird how Aoi's father was never around.. and he was supposed to have 4 younger siblings right? Where's the other one? Lol.
it's... fine? i think had it been longer there would have been more time to develop all the relationships which i felt was incredibly lacking. also, there's no way i'm rating every single volume so i'm just going to rate and review the last volume and treat that as an overall review of the work as a whole lol.
I picked this up not realizing I hadn’t read volumes 3 and 4 and was pretty confused and thinking something was up with my memory, so that’s my bad. Regardless, this was a super cheesy ending to a story I was never super invested it. I do love Taamo’s art though.
A really cute series overall! I feel like there were a few loose ends that could have been elaborated on a little, but generally it was a very pleasant read! Taamo always writes the best shoujos! 'House of the Sun' is still one of my all time favourite romance mangas <3
3.5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️ i think the “love triangle” was unnecessary (one party’s crush felt absolutely forced for the drama and future reckoning) but i cried a lot and i fear it healed me…..just a little…..or maybe a lot……i also liked the friends & friendships a lot 👍👍👍👍👍
It was a perfect ending, I really like how the author fixed up all of the loose ends. Overall i think this is a short but very cute story and I really enjoyed seeing the character development that took place. I definitely need to read more from this author.
