Maryland high school junior Ali opens her locker door and sees stone stairs. She descends into a secret basement, unlike any basement you’ve ever seen. It’s vast and green, with mountains, rivers & meadows. She soon meets another girl and two boys who stepped … or fell in.
Trouble abounds and love blooms, as the four high schoolers try to pull off miracles major and minor in and far above their hidden netherworld.
There’s the family you’re given at birth. And the one formed with unexpected friends. Join these teens on their time-trotting adventures, where justice is eternally elusive, and there’s inevitably a price to pay.
Four teens embark on adventure because they share a number in some way. They switch generations and find themselves in a POW camp in Arizona where they become servants to the military. Youth triumphs as youth will and an engaging story unfolds. I received this book from Goodreads for free.
I would classify this more as a YA/Middle School read. The story was bizarre and bounced around too much to keep me interested. There were too many characters and side stories to get the reader involved. It could have been much better.
Fascinating concept for a book. I loved the writing style and the character development was excellent. It’s a page turner for sure! I definitely recommend!
This is a great YA book. The author takes the reader on a fantastical journey through time presenting the characters with opportunities to alter history with sometimes unanticipated results. Loved Allie, a character that seemingly has everything. As the story progresses, we learn she has a lot to learn about life and herself.
A girl finds a stone staircase in her locker. As she descends, she finds another girl and a Chinese boy. Somehow, they end up in a Nazi POW camp in Arizona.
