An Amish Cookie Club Courtship

Rate this book
Baking cookies every other Friday for their respective church districts gives Edna Esh and three of her closest friends a chance to give to the Plain community and strengthen their bond with each other. In this third Amish Cookie Club novel by ELPA bestselling author Sarah Price, tourist season is approaching, and the Edna is busier than ever, between baking with her Amish Cookie Club friends and running her business serving meals to Englische tourists. You wouldn't think she'd have time for matchmaking...

Edna couldn't be happier that her new daughter-in-law, Bethany, is pregnant. But Bethany is also her best helper, and morning sickness has her out of commission. Desperate for more hands, Edna accepts a friend's offer for her twin daughters, Rachel and Ella Mae, to step in. Trouble is, the young women are constantly bickering--except when Edna's sons Jeremiah and Jonas are around...

It's soon clear that Rachel has taken a shine to Jeremiah, while Jonas is smitten with Ella Mae. It's also clear the feelings aren't reciprocated. But after confiding in the Cookie Club, Edna devises a plan for the pairs to spend more time together. The only problem is it seems to be failing. Yet it appears there's a grander plan at work--and as nature takes its course, and the MayFest arrives, there's reason to look forward to the bountiful sweetness of a double wedding come autumn...

This is an Amish romance. I have to say the twin characters made me so mad because they where selfless. I also could not make myself care about the characters. The last part of the book was better then the beginning. Overall I just found this book OK. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher (Zebra) or author (Sarah Price) via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review about how I feel about this book, and I want to send a big Thank you to them for that.

An Amish Cookie Club Courtship by Sarah Price is the 3rd installment in The Amish Cookie Club series. Each book can be read as a standalone, but they are entertaining to read as a whole. I was drawn right away into this humorous Amish tale. Edna Esh is a busy woman with her family and home to take care of plus fixing the noon meal for Englischers three days a week during the tourist season as well as baking cookies to sell at Yoder’s and MayFest fast approaching (which means more cookies). I felt bad for Edna when her friend, Wilma Schwartz pressures her into hiring her twin daughters to assist her with the meals. Edna can use the help, but she cannot stand the twins constant sniping at each other. The Amish Cookie Club as the four ladies are called who bake the cookies have done a little matchmaking in the past with the latest success story being Edna’s son, John and Mary’s daughter, Bethany who are expecting their first child. Wilma is hoping her twin daughters will take a liking to Edna’s two sons, Jonas and Jeremiah. I laughed often while reading this story. I felt bad for Edna having to endure the bickering going on between Rachel and Ella Mae. I thought it was funny that the twins are not even aware that they do it. These ladies have spent too much time at home with each other for company. Jonas was a lively character. He likes to tease, goad, and play pranks. It would take the right woman to deal with Jonas. I liked how we got to see different sides of Jonas, Jeremiah, Rachel, and Ella Mae. That what you see in the beginning is not all there is to a person. People have hidden depths. An Amish Cookie Club Courtship is a wonderful escapist novel. It was just what I needed this week. I hope there will be another story in The Amish Cookie Club series. An Amish Cookie Club Courtship is a diverting Amish tale with a colossal number of cookies, Mayfest madness, squabbling siblings, a bonus building, and mother’s playing matchmaker.

Thanks go to the publisher and Net-Galley for the complimentary copy of An Amish Cookie Club Courtship by Sarah Price for the purpose of reading and reviewing prior to publication. My opinions are my own, and no one has influenced them.

An Amish Cookie Club Courtship is a lovely Amish romance with engaging characters and an enjoyable plot. A pair of twins and two Amish brothers who start out at odds with each other, but love finds its way into their hearts in a most unexpected way.

There are two heroines in this tale. Rachel and Ella Mae, although twin sisters, their personalities are vastly different. Where one is quiet, the other is outspoken. Edna, the brothers’ maam, is determined to match her sons to the twins. Lots of twists and turns going on in this book.

The Brothers also have different personalities. Jonas is a jokester and irritates Rachel in the beginning, but that changes as Edna devises ways for them to spend time with each other. Ella Mae spends time with Jeremiah and discovers he’s much more to her tastes than Jonas.

The mother added a delightful twist to this tale, and I enjoyed the banter between her and the other ladies in their cookie club. There are several humorous moments that had me chuckling. In the end, Edna’s instincts proved right!

If you enjoy Amish romance with a great cast of characters, and a plot that will have you chuckling, then you will find An Amish Cookie Club Courtship a delightful reading experience. Sarah Price has a masterful ability to give her novels an authentic view of Amish life and community. Happy reading!

This book isn't in my normal realm of reading. However, I was intrigued and gave it a shot. It was cute! I've always been interested in Amish and this book gave a glimpse into their lives. Even though this isn't my normal read, I may just go back and read this whole series.

Thanks to Netgalley for the chance to read this book before publication.

In this third installment of of the cookie club series, Edna is needing new help for her English dinners, since her daughter-in-law is now pregnant and suffering from morning sickness. Edna at last agrees to take on the bickering twins of her friend. But she finds out that when the twins are treated more as individuals and given different tasks, they are actually quite pleasant to be around. And that’s when Edna begins to think that they might just be the girls for her bachelor sons. It takes a bit of doing to figure out who the couples should be. And to get the couples on board. Edna should trust herself more and stop listening to the opinions of others. It was quite a nice wrap-up to this trilogy, showing character development in this satisfying conclusion.

If you want a glimpse into the Amish life then this book has it all for you. I thought the author did quiet well with this book. Such a sweet novel with how friendship should be. With the right kind of friends it can be an awesome experience. Price has made these characters seem real and I really enjoyed their adventures. I'm also a lover of sweets so I found myself drooling over the cookies. If you love Amish fiction then I recommend this book. It will not disappoint. My thanks to Netgalley for a copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

An Amish Cookie Club Courtship by Sarah Price is the third in the series but can be read as a stand-alone. This is a cute book about twin girls and their journey of growth along with a mother who is trying very hard to play matchmaker.

Seems we often look at things from our own perspective and not at how things link together. Life is like a chain of events. If one link is removed, the chain loses its strength. God's plan is often mysterious to us until we look at the past and how it impacts the future. Without the past, we wouldn't be where we are today.

Rachel and Ella Mae twin sisters are more linked together than anyone could imagine. They do everything together that they are not thought of as individuals but as a duo. They have a reputation of being arguementive with each other and misunderstood. Their mother knows that they have much to offer to the community and to future husbands. When an opportunity arrives from her good cookie club friend Edna to help cook and prepare meals for English families visiting the Amish, she thinks of Edna's two sons that might make a good match for her daughters.

Edna is apprehensive to the ideal but she finds out that Rachel and Edna Mae are hard workers and have a side that many people do not know. She begins to devise her own match making plans. Edna owns sons are misunderstood which makes for an endearing romance.

I loved this romance and getting to know the sisters. They are spunky, faithful and loyal. The brothers are good natured and have a deep sense of faith that comes thru. You don't know who will end up with who and if any heart break will occur. It speaks well of a pure love and getting to know one as a friend instead of an means to an end. Highly recommend.

A special thank you to Kensington Books and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review.

I have thoroughly enjoyed this series. My favorite was book two but all are good reads. All can be read as standalone. All are good clean reads for teenagers on up.

The twins, Rachel and Ella Mae have been my least favorite characters as they are so immature but so are the boys Jonas and Jeremiah. It was nice to see the four of them grow up.

I love the idea of a cookie club with close friendships, a weekly day to gather and connect all the while fulfilling a need in the community. It would be something I would love to do with some friends when it is safe to gather again.

I alternated between reading and listening to the audiobook and suggest either one for readers. The narrator is engaged with the characters in the audiobook.

I received a complimentary copy from the publisher, Kensington Books, through NetGalley. All opinions expressed in the above review are entirely my own.

We are back with the life long friends in this Amish Community, they continue to back their cookies for the Amish Aid, and Edna is needing help with her dinners she serves to tourists.
Against her better judgement she decides to give her friends Wilma's twin daughters , Ella Mae and Rachel, know as the bickering twins, a chance to help her.
Surprise, there is also a chance the twins might end up with at least one of Edna's sons. Is there romance in the air? You will wonder which twin is interested in which brother? Will the mother's influence their children, tongue in cheek, no, will maybe push them in the right direction.
There are some really cute moments in this story, and some shake your head times, and it did take a while to know whom was interested in whom.
A sweet page-turner!
I received this book through Net Galley and the Publisher Kensington, and was not required to give a positive review.

I have read all of the books in this series and loved each one. This is the third book in the series, however, each can be read independently. They are all so delightful that you will want to read them all to follow this group of Amish ladies who get together every week to bake cookies for their various church charities.

In this one, we find the “Cookie Club” ladies continuing with their matchmaking between one member’s twin daughters, and another members two sons.

This is a delightful mixture of personalities and twists and turns to the plot. Will this matchmaking lead to the end result the mothers are hoping will happen, or will there be surprising results from these interactions?
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and highly recommend it. I received a complimentary copy of this book from Kensington Books through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Sweet book! Sweet clean romance! Two twin sisters and two brothers become friends, and while one sister, Rachel, likes Jeremiah, her sister Ella Mae doesn't like either of them. Jonas is so goofy neither girl likes him much. But then, Ella Mae spends time with Jeremiah, and she begins to like him, although she knows her sister really likes him. She isn't really sure how to handle this situation. However, Rachel spends time with Jonas and soon learns he has a more serious sensitive side to him. How will it all work out?

Edna Esh needs help with her business serving English folks. Her friend Wilma suggest her twin daughters, Rachel and Ella Mae. The problem is the girls constantly bicker with each other. Wilma hopes that her daughters will fall for Edna’s sons Jeremiah and Jonas. Edna isn’t sure about this idea but goes along with it. Let the matchmaking games begin. I really enjoyed this story. You will enjoy the matchmaking efforts of Edna. This book is part of a series but can be read as a stand alone. Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington {Zebra} for the E-ARC. This my own opinion.

An Amish Cookie Club Courtship is another book in the line of the the Amish Cookie Clubs matchmaking schemes. There are books before this I haven't read them yet but am looking forward to reading them.
The cookie club was formed by 4 women (Edna, Verna, Mary and Wilma), who were friends since they were children. They are now grown up, have adult children of their own and some even have grandchildren.
Edna runs an Amish destination lunch restaurant and the Amish Cookie Club provides cookies for the local grocery store, as well as the large festival called MayFest which is huge for the Amish community for providing aid for families that need the help.
Every year Wilma tries pushing her twin daughters, Rachel and Ella Mae, on Edna to help her with her business. The twins have a reputation for arguing all the time and for losing jobs quickly. Edna tries resisting but quickly realizes her help for the season is pregnant, so she agrees to give Rachel and Ella Mae a chance. Wilma has ulterior motives and hopes her daughter will find husbands in Edna's single sons.
So the fun and matchmaking begin! The book shows the growing up of the twin sisters as well as how the business begins to thrive with them working there and they are a big help to Edna.
As for matchmaking.......Edna has in her head which sons would work for which twin after watching them interact but ends up in a bit of a pickle! However, in the end things work out as they should.
This book is a good quick read. It goes by fast because it draws you in. It also shows you a good look at Amish life and what the women in the community do to help not only their families but other families in the community as well. I look forward to going and reading the other Cookie Club books that came before this!
Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Publishing Corp for the advanced copy. I was asked to simply read the book and give an honest review. I was not compensated in any way. Other then enjoying a good book!

Edna Esh and her friends have a Cookie Club where they bake cookies to sell to fund the Amish Aid Society. Edna also runs a business on her farm where she prepares an Amish meal for tourists brought out by a tour company a couple of times a week. This is her busy season and she reluctantly hires one of her friends’ twin daughters to help her. These two Rachel and Ella Mae are very outspoken and having grown up together find nothing wrong with arguing with each other all day long. Their mother is despairing of every finding husbands for them as they have a reputation for their attitudes. Edna happens to have two eligible sons, Jeremiah and Jonas. She doesn’t think either of them will be interested. However, they each take a shine to one of the twins. Just as soon as she starts trying to help the process along she finds out that the situation has changed and the boys are not interested in the same twin they first showed an interest in and have switched interest. Everyone is in suspense as to who is really interested in who till almost the end. There are many interesting mishaps and misunderstandings throughout and it is really quite comical. I will look forward to more stories from this author about the busy ladies of the Cookie Club.

I have voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from NetGalley. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.

Edna runs a business where she serves Amish cooked meals to Englishers. She has in the past had her daughter-in-law, Bethany, help her with some aspects of it but now Bethany is pregnant and is having morning sickness so her husband, who is very overprotective, doesn't want her working right now. Edna decides to let two sisters, Rachel and Ella Mae, help her. They are the daughters of one of her cookie club member friends. They are not known to be very helpful and have a bickering attitude toward each other but Edna doesn't know who else to have help her & she is somewhat desperate for help since she can't run the business herself. What Edna doesn't realize is that the two girls during the course of running the business & helping Edna are becoming somewhat smitten with Edna's two sons. At first, she doesn't want this to happen but after talking with the other members of the cookie club, she decides it might not be a bad idea....so things start to change between everyone!

Thank you to NetGalley & the publisher, Zebra Books, for the opportunity to read an advanced copy of this book. This is my honest and unbiased opinion of the book. It is a somewhat light-hearted easy read!

[I received an electronic review copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.]

3 stars = Good/fine/solid

This is a fun addition to the series. I don't know if this felt different because the author was trying to tell two stories in one book, but for me this seemed like more telling than showing, which was disappointing. I loved the idea that the twins needed separation to truly discern their own identity, but there wasn't enough of that shown in the scenes of the book. Jeremiah was described early on as a follower who just went along with Jonas' pranks and such, but that never really materialized either in the action of the story. I was excited early on that the pairings were going to thwart Edna's manipulations and matchmaking, which could have been a great way to reinforce the message that she needed to leave these young people alone and let God work, but that didn't materialize either in the end.

This was an enjoyable read, but I felt like there were several brilliant beginnings that didn't develop like I had hoped they would. I think series fans will ultimately enjoy spending more time with these characters, as I did, though.

Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Books for kindly providing me with a digital copy of this book for review.
I am quite familiar with this author’s work and have enjoyed quite a few of her books before, although this is the first in this series that I have read. As with many romance series though, I feel that these can easily be read as stand alone stories.
In a nutshell this is the story of a set of twins being set up with a pair of brothers by their mothers. The twins start out very immature and self- cantered and we watch them fall in love and grow more into separate identities, rather than just the twin unit they had previously been. We also see the brother’s mature and learn to express their feelings.
This was an enjoyable read, and I read it through quickly in one sitting. However, it did not quite have the full emotional impact for me that some of the other books I’ve read by this author. I will still carry on with the series though as like I say, I did enjoy visiting the Amish community again and just wishing I was in that kitchen smelling all the fabulous cooking. 3.5 stars

An Amish Cookie Club Courtship is an Amish romance by author Sarah Price. An Amish Cookie Club Courtship is installment #3, however, can act as a standalone.

Four life-long friends get together every other week to make cookies to share during church fellowship time. I appreciated reading about the twin sisters, wondering if either one would marry. I also enjoyed the twins bantering.

However, I felt An Amish Cookie Club Courtship was a slow read that did not keep me fully invested. Towards the middle I finally perked up, only to drift off again later in the story. Needless to say, it took me a few days time to read the story.

I give An Amish Cookie Club Courtship 3*/5*

The match makers/ Cookie makers are back and still up to no good!!! If you have been following this series or not the friends are back and some are set in there ways and others are ready to make some matches among there children. I love amish books and how simple of a life the authors portray and in this book it was very much the same it was a breath of fresh air with all the craziness going on in our world. I really enjoyed the sisters and how even though they are separate people how it was easy to lump them together into one for so many. I liked how the heart of the story was never judge a book by its cover because you will never get to know there person if you do. I also liked how the author kept this story a good clean read and making it suitable for all readers. Overall this is a fun read and well worth it. I received a complimentary copy of this book. An Amish Cookie Club Courtship by Sarah Price is a fun read about young love and old matchmakers. In the story, Edna and her Cookie Club friends are playing matchmaker with Edna's two sons and her friend's twin daughters. However, they seem to be getting things mixed up. Rachel likes Jeremiah, while Ella Mae doesn't prefer either brother. Edna tries to set up Rachel with Jonas instead though, and continues to push Ella Mae towards the brother Rachel likes. What results is a fun mix up that will keep you guessing and wondering if anyone will actually find true love by the end! Lots of fun to read. I have enjoyed all the cookie club books and this one was especially sweet. In the end, the theme that God has a plan and knows what He is doing, even when we try to interfere, holds true. Highly recommend you check out Sarah Price and her Cookie Club books!

I have loved reading the Amish Cookie Club books. Books with the theme of matching making are some of my favorite. I love all of the women involved in the club. With tourist season approaching, Edna is busier than ever. Not only does she bake once a week, her business providing meals for the English are starting to pick up. While she is happy her daughter in law is expecting, good help will be hard to find. When her friend suggests her twin daughters, Edna hesitates. They are constantly bickering which would not be good for business. Desperate, Edna decides to give it a try. As time goes on, Edna realizes that when her two bachelor sons are around, the twins stop bickering. Could more be going on here?
I really do love this series. I look forward to more if available. I received a copy through Netgalley. A review was not required.

I love this series! So good to be catching up with friends. This is one of those books which leaves one in two minds : wanting to rush on & finish it, whilst at the same time wanting it to last & never come to an end. I didn’t expect to like these sisters, having learned plenty about them from the previous books in the series – or so I thought! But....the more I got to know them, the more I did find I liked them after all. I guess the lesson from this book is not to judge people without first-hand experience with them, otherwise we are just borrowing others’ opinions : & we wouldn’t like that being done toward us, would we? Oh! & also not to second-guess other’s thoughts (& feelings) – even people we think we know really well...

This is the sort of sweet, clean romance that lifts the heart and reminds you that things can be nice. Ella Mae and Rachel bicker all the time. All the time. It's how they communicate with each other and they don't even think about it. Edna, who has hired them to help out in her business thinks about it, thinks about it a lot. See, she's got two boys- Jonas and Jeremiah- who she would like to find matches for. The young people pair off but then realize that they've picked the wrong sibling- that there's more to each one of them than it appears. These are nice characters and, as fans of the genre know, Price does a nice job of giving insight into the Plain lifestyle. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. A good read.

Round and round the merry-go-round of love goes, in the circle of the Amish Cookie Club!! Sarah Price has once again brought the ladies together for baking....or matchmaking.....they like to dabble (or interfere), as the case may be!!
We start with the sisters, Ella Mae and her twin, Rachel. These sisters are tied a little to close and are having a hard time finding themselves, seperate from one another. It's a journey that brings both laughter and tears. Edna is determined to find wives, for her sons and has her eye set on the twins. But as we all know, the best laid plans have a way of going wayward!! Follow these characters and enjoy the trip. A light and fun filled novel that will not disappoint.

What a fun story! I loved all the characters in this book. It made me smile to read this story about the ladies of the Cookie Club who were determined to play matchmaker for twin sisters, Rachel and Ella Mae. Their targets for matrimony were the Esh brothers, Jeremiah and Jonas. But due to some misunderstandings, the matchmakers were divided in their efforts and caused much confusion with promoting the courtships. This story has some cute twists and turns that kept me guessing before everyone’s happily-ever-afters were found. This book is part of a series, but it’s easy to read it as a standalone. However, once you read this one, you’ll want to read the others.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.

Edna Esh has a business serving meals to Englische tourists in her home. She is also a member of The Amish Cookie Club with some childhood friends.

Edna's friend, Wilma, suggests her twin daughters, Rachel and Ella Mae, help Wilma out. Now, what could possibly go wrong with two bickering twin girls and Edna's sons, Jeremiah and Jonas, and two moms determined to do some matchmaking. Will there be weddings coming.

Read Sara Price's new book, An Amish Cookie Club Courtship coming October 27. This is a 5-star book and a must-read.

I was given an ARC by Kensington Books through NetGalley. The review is my honest opinion.

I thoroughly enjoyed this delightful Amish tale. The characters were unique and believable. They were well rounded and sounded realistic. I loved revisiting the characters from earlier books, too.

This story was filled with twists and turns, sweet romance, life lessons, inspiration, and faith. The turn of events keep readers guessing about what the outcome will be. The author mixes in a touch of humor, too.

The Cookie Club Series is one of my favorites. I love reading about the Amish way of life and cooking. I highly recommend this to everyone. It was easy to read and I was invested in the story immediately. It gets a 5 star rating from me!
