After struggling for years to find the one, Wyoming girl, Mandy Calhoun, has given up on love. All she's ever wanted was a family of her own, but just because she hasn't found a husband, doesn't mean she needs to give up on motherhood. She's having a baby, and no father need apply. Now, if she can just get her grandfather to stop trying to find her a husband.
He's longed for a chance to do the right thing...
Calum Milne, a Highland ghost returned to mortality, was a bastard born. He believes no child should be without the protection of a father's name, and so, sight unseen, he's determined to make Mandy his own. But when the dark-haired beauty stirs emotions he never knew existed, making him feel like a man again, it cements her fate. He'll gain Mandy's trust if it's the last thing he ever does.
Can a solitary ghost prove that love is worth fighting for? Can a girl with dashed dreams take that chance?

Calum is a sweetheart (and yay for an auburn haired Scot!). He's downtrodden until he meets Mandy and her grandfather and is taken into their close-knit community.
Mandy's grandfather has big plans for the two of them and plays an unusual matchmaker.
Calum has hilarious moments of learning the way things work in the modern world, and some ideas are inconceivable.
The progression of Mandy and Calum's relationship is fun and moves along at a good clip with twists and turns. I love the glimpse at the end of what their happily ever after looks like (it's so cute!).
I have read every one! The enjoyment is beyond measure. I was surprised when I saw this one, as I thought the series finished. The only thing missing in this one was our little witch and her uncle, although Such an is mentioned. Thank you for many hours of enjoymrnt!
Calum: A Highlander Romance (The Ghosts of Culloden Moor) by Diane Darcy was a lovely read.
Calum one of the remaining 79 ghosts to be released from Culloden Moor, and returned to a living man again. Callum had a tough life, being born on the wrong side of the blanket, and a stern set of grandparents to raise him. His best friend was a neighbor, Eleanor, and he lost track of her when the Jacobite cause called on him. He was young, he had hardly lived, but that fateful day on the Moor he died, and was laid to rest there on the more with 78 other souls.
Callum decided that he would like to go to Wyoming. He'd seen TV shows in the Visitor's Center, and it reminded him of the ruggedness of Scotland, and thought it would be a good place for him to start over.
On his first day there he met Red, and his friends at a bar that Red owned. Red was a habitual matchmaker for his granddaughter Mandy who had taken it upon herself to be artificially inseminated as she wanted a baby more than anything in the world, but after 2 bad relationships did want a husband more than anything in the world!
Calum was taken with her the first time he saw her, and wanted to spare her and her child the stigma of being a "fallen woman" and her "bastard" child. But he saw more to Mandy than just cruel names people gave, and he would know being born out of wedlock, and never knowing who his father was. He spent his whole life feeling second best because of his mother's choices.
Being direct and honest, he blurted out that he would marry her right away to save her from shame, and this incensed Mandy, and made her sure this is why she did not need a husband. Yet she had a picture of the donor father, and Calum looked so much like him it was almost scary!
Short time and events brought Mandy and Calum together until he convinced her to marry him in an impromptu wedding at the Pastor's house. She began to realize that Calum was a good man compared to the two bad relationships she had had that left her sour on romance. Calum even had a run in with Wyatt her local failed relationship. Wyatt was juvenile, and a bit malicious, and Calum was having none of that where Mandy and her baby were concerned. He told her he would keep her safe and Mandy was coming to realize he wasn't kidding! She still had doubt that he would stay, but she knew she would be fine as she had a great job she did from home, and she had her grandfather and her friends too. She wouldn't be brokenhearted another time, no sir!
Calum and Many had the family they both so wanted, and shared a rich, deep love that they both also wanted so much. This was a sweet love story, that restored your faith in happiness that could come after bad relationships, and should not be missed in The Ghosts of Culloden Moor Series!
Calum, Honorable, Loyal and on so Braw plus an Amazingly Strong Woman
Equals another masterful work of bewitching entertainment as Caum embarks on life in the West and Mandy's grandfather pursues his headstrong determination to find her a husband before the North of her baby.
Enjoy Calum's indoctrination into the 21st century and all things modern, like... Artificial insemination and what to have serve while watching a movie as Calum learns what it means to romance a woman who doesn't need a husband.
Find out if that there are still men who know what it means to just go the extra mile.
A girl up and enjoy the day read. These ghosts really know what it's like to live.
Diana Darcy is a good writer who plots with humor as well as romantic fantasy. It was exciting to see how Calum managed the change in his new life and kept his old honor and morals in tact. Mandy was literally swept off her feet by Colum, even as she had her life all planned out. I enjoy the backstory that accompanies these novels. The glimpse of Scotland is interesting to me as I carry Scottish blood.
So many in this series this one does not disappoint
Oh my goodness. I went into this book probably a little biased thinking after so many in this series how can there be a fresh story. But I was wrong. This sweet story started as a slow burn and by the end I was very happy to read their story.
This was another winner. This is one of my favorite series. I have read everyone of these books. I loved everyone of them and loved every Author that wrote them. Each one has wonderful storylines and the characters are great. I highly recommend all their books and this series you need to read.Diana Romano
This is a great story. It's about Calum, and Mandy. This takes place after the reckoning and Calum had gone home with others to Wickham's ranch but wasn't satisfied. When he asked to go to Wyoming, Wickham was glad to help him settle there. What happens next is a sweet story of trust and love.
One of my favorite ghosts so far. Calum and Mandy have a beautiful story to tell, and a beautiful family started. I want to know what the new baby will be, and how that affects the dynamic.
I am in love with the Ghosts and wait not so patiently for the next Ghost to tell his tale. There really isn't anything that I do not like other than I wish for them to continue
Enjoyed this love story thoroughly, as always! That said, I would have loved (and had expected) a family tree to be discovered that actually showed the baby’s sperm doner to be a blood relation to Calum!
I so enjoyed this tale. I liked the characters and the plot of this book. I had a feeling that Wickham might have finagled something and that's all I'm saying. Looking forward to reading the next installment of this series.
I love the different authors adding to the story line and ultimately adding such unique characters and settings. Although short, sweet read with a few endearing characters.
I loved Calum. He was so earnest and serious about his purpose to save a woman that needed no saving. I loved the realization that both of them of them come to about themselves and each other. A really enjoyable read. Darcy you’ve done yourself proud once again. Thank you.
Recommend on a Facebook book club page as a light hearted easy read. That it is Mills and Boon style without giving anything away. I will no doubt read more by this author when I'm in the mood for this type of novel.
If you like lovable ghosties and romance, start with The Gathering. You will then start a delightful journey with The Muir Witches and the ghosts of Culloden.
I recommend this book to anyone who doesn't need explicit sex in their books. The storyline is beautiful with heartfelt feelings & confirms your belief in the magic of love.
I have gotten out of the habit of writing reviews, but I think this book deserves the attention. Be sure to go back to the first book if you have not read it. You need the back story to appreciate the other books.
