Karos might have survived the war on Romak, but it left scars on his body, and his heart.
Now he’s on Earth, assigned to guard the first alien embassy. His purpose is simple – protect his new home and everyone in it. This time, he won’t fail in his mission.
This book contains a bodyguard who can kick ass in high heels, and a war-weary dragon who is about to learn that love is the only battle you have to surrender to win.
Susan lives out on the Canadian west coast surrounded by open water, dear family and good friends. She’s jumped out of perfectly good airplanes on purpose and accidentally swum with sharks on the Great Barrier Reef. If the world ends, she plans to survive as the spunky, comedic sidekick to the heroes of the new world, because she’s too damned short and out of shape to make it on her own for long.
Writing is her joy, her escape from reality and the only way she knows of to quiet the nagging harridan of a muse the universe assigned to her.

This one had a strong start and a strong finish, but somewhere in the middle, it lost momentum, and I found myself zoning out.
I wanted to love it-dragon shifters, fated mates and a badass bodyguard FMC? Normally I would be obsessed! But I had a really hard time liking this FMC and the MMC did not communicate well.
✨ That said... a purple dragon shifter?! YES, PLEASE. ✨
Still, I'm excited for the next two books in the series! Hoping for more dragon shifter aliens! 🪐
Megan is a bodyguard; Karos, a dragon shifter, is head of security for the alien embassy on Earth. When Megan's employer and friend is kidnapped, the two of them team up to rescue them--while in the throes of the "rux," the mating rut. Strong heroine holds her own again the dragon shifter male. Plenty of action, romance and a little mystery.
Marks is a Ramaki dragon shifter, head of security at the Pyrosian-Ramaki embassy. Megan is the human bodyguard for 2 humans, Hannah and her assistant, that have a meeting with the ambassador Jet. The driver of the limo after being hit by another vehicle gasses everyone and kidnaps everyone except Megan. She awakens to see a large red head looking at her and asking questions. Karos realizes this is his mate and the story begins with them being in rux he gets carried away and bites her without her permission and she doesn't take the news well. They work things out, she meets him at the warehouse the kidnapped are hiding and flush them out so the Pyrosian guards could capture them and hand them over to the police. In the end 6people turn into 3 couples and go their separate says for their "honeymoons".
Yet another great story and exciting coming together of another dragon and his mate. Karos is a stickler for being thorough, he suffers from the loss of those close to him on his home planet. He prides himself in doing the best in his role but when he touches Megan he knows. He doesn't like it either. He fights it and Megan. She is one tough lady and eventually accepts after many questions from both Karos and those around them. They work through the building of their connection and have some bad guys to destroy and folks to rescue. At the end of this story, we have 3 new couples and you know you will read about the 2 in the next couple of books. :)
A Dragon and a Human Protector. This is a short steamy story about a dragon, named Karos, who is on Earth to protect the alien embassy and a human, named Megan, whose job is to protect her client. Human extremists against aliens kidnap Megan's clients and Karos's ambassador. They are mates and must work together to save the ambassador and Megan's clients. They have a very steamy happily ever after!
The mystery started off fun. The romance is sort of tacked on and not compelling. There are major consent issues here. I don’t believe in being mated without full consent of all parties. I think Talia Hibbert’s “Mating the Huntress” is the best example of enthusiastic consent in a fated mate situation. I don’t believe you can (or should) be told “you’re my mate and there’s nothing you can do about it”. Ick! It’s not romantic.
Megan was the bodyguard of Hanna who was rescuing women and children from bad guys. Something went wrong and everyone was abducted except Megan. Karos was the head of security for the embassy and realized that the whole party was in danger.. to late. Karos and Megan had to work together to find and rescue them. Enjoy
My only issue with these not in a 3 pack bundle is that they’re shorter than I’d prefer. The story was good and if you don’t recall Eva, she’s the one who was greeting all the people in the 4-6 books and got injured. They didn’t have a book, they were part of the book 5 story arc.
A bit obstinate, Karos still has his heart in the right place, while leaving Megan to prove to him that his conclusions about them are a little faulty. Another quick, enjoyable read in this series.
Like I said before, I love dragons! This was too cool! Karos is a fire dragon, a war vet, I guess you could say, from his planet. He is Head of security at the Alien Embassy. So when the limo that is carrying the new guests & his friends from the airport get highjacked he needs to find them now! Then he sees Megan in the limo unsure she is alive, his dragon is positive this is their mate. He is not too sure. Megan is the bodyguard left behind with a message, about what is going on. She is not going to lose her friends & she is going to get the people who did this! They get to working together, both trying to ignore the strong urges to get together. She can't figure out what is wrong with her, Karos & his dragon are becoming more & more sure she is their mate. Karos keeps denying it, but his dragon keeps arguing with him. The start doing a search for the trackers that Megan had given Hanna & Lisa when they were going to more dangerous places. They are in a charity group that helps women & children relocate away from places that are dangerous to anywhere else on earth. Now they are looking to see if they can be moved to Pyros, if they wanted to. It was being discussed between Jet & Hanna when the limo was rammed by the other car & their driver tossed a gas canister in the back. He locked the doors & Megan had tried to kick out one of the windows but they were bulletproof, so that didn't work. The only thing they had time for was Jet sent a distress signal to Karos, when he called back he got no answer. When she came to, she was alone & Karos's Dragon had ripped the door off the limo. They get some demands to free the leaders of the Humanity First group that had bombed the stadium last year, in exchange for 2 of their hostages. What are they going to do with the other two? They start trying to figure out where they are hiding everyone when later that night unable to stay away from each other they get together in the gym. He gets a little out of control & mates her. Unfortunately, he made her a dragon as well. He knows they need to focus & get back to work on getting their friends found & fast, before they run out of time. Plus he knows she is going to be mad when he tells her what he did. He had better tell her, before she finds out she can breathe fire & torch him! He gets her to where he can explain, he tells her it was not intentional, it just happened. She is starting to hear her dragon. About that time, Lisa's tracker goes off! They have the location!. They are going to go get their friends! He says no she isn't used to being a dragon yet. She is staying there, Eva, one of the human mates will stay with her. She & her dragon are not happy. Eva & Megan drive out, & go to the location. Eva can throw a pretty good fireball. She said she would stay with Megan, she just didn't say where. Megan transforms & she & Karos fly around the building. One dragon was expected, not 2! The men holding the people hostage inside run out more than a little upset. They are arrested. Vykor from Romak, who was thought to be without a dragon spirit, has finally come into his. He transforms & has Lily of his back. She was shot, it isn't looking too good. This is his mate, he didn't think he would ever have. It looks like the only way to save her is to make her like him. When she is well enough to reunite with the other women, they all see they have found mates. It seems that they need to take a few days to get the mating fever over with & then come back to discuss things. I always want keep going.
Pyrosian Mail Order Brides - still trying to go legit
Way back when the Pyrosians discovered their dying race was mating-compatible with human females, Earth was officially OFF LIMITS to off-world contacts. (Think, Prime Directive) Governments are the same galaxy wide: the Pyrosian response was an illegal dating app, AKA bride-recruiting device, and stealth missions to capture the matched humans. The missions weren't as stealthy as planned, thanks to the Pyrosian mating compatibility test and subsequent mating fever. Nothing for it but to go legit. The first official aliens-to-Earth cultural exchange and mass mating event was a stellar failure, thanks to an anti-alien terrorist movement and a guest Romaki dragon who couldn't contain himself... So now Pyrosians and Romaki both crave Earth girls. Karos stars a Romaki dragon security officer in the new earth alien embassy. Anti-alien sentiment is still an issue, and when a famous human female embassy guest and her entourage get kidnapped on the way to the embassy, Karos is on it. He meets the left-behind body guard Lily, and together they thrash out their issues with aliens/humans, mating, true love, etc. - all while kicking some serious terrorist butt. I thought they were perfect together. HEA bears this out, but all the intervening intrigue and angst make it a touch-and-go, will-they-or-won't-they page-turner of a romance. Steamy and satisfying - 5 stars.
Karos is the seventh book in the Star-Crossed Alien Mail Order Brides series. Megan is the bodyguard to her friend, but when a diplomatic mission between humans and friends starts with a car crash and she’s behind, her attraction to Karos, the growly alien head of security, is stumping her. When Karos’ rux strikes, will they be able to save their friends and deal with their own instincts?
Ms. Hayes has done it again, starting a new trilogy of books in the Intergalactic Dating Agency world that has immediately captured my attention and heart! I absolutely loved Karos and Megan and reading through their trials and triumphs! Karos is a bit broody and growly, one who doesn’t believe he deserves a mate, but I loved his protective nature and how he only wanted what was best for Megan - and of course to help their friends! Megan was fierce and not one to put up with anyone’s crap, but she had a big heart that shined through with her protective nature and her sympathy with Karos’ past. I love that this book deals with the ups and downs of their passionate relationship, the issues with Humanity First, touches more on alien culture on an Earth setting, and I loved every page that I read! I flipped through these pages with excitement and I’m already really looking forward to what will happen next to this group of friends!
Karos - Learning to live with the choices in your own past is difficult but living with the choices made by those closest to you can be nearly impossible. Especially when their choices changed the course of everyone’s lives. Choosing to let someone in, to let someone close to you again, may be the most daunting task you’ll ever face.
Megan - When you’ve devoted your life to taking care of others one of the most difficult things to do is let someone take care of you. You’re always the one who makes the decisions, putting the safety of others above yours, so how do you let someone else take charge? How do you learn to share something you’ve only ever considered as your own?
You know before you even buy this book that Karos and Megan are fated mates and will end up together. After all, that’s the whole point of a romance, no matter who or what the main characters are. For me, following along on the journey these characters take is why I choose to and enjoy reading romance. And this, like all books I have read by this author, was one I loved!
“…love is the only battle you have to surrender to win.”
I have loved all of Susan’s books, and this is no exception! Dragons, bodyguards, bad guys, good guys kicking butt, sweet romance, and a great HEA - this book has it all 💜!
Megan is a bodyguard who is protecting her friend while on a diplomatic mission to the alien embassy. Karos, a dragon shifting alien, is head of security at the embassy. While en route to the embassy, Megan's car is attacked & everyone but her is taken hostage. Inside the car were also 2 of the dragon shifters. Megan & Karos team up together to work to rescue them. Karos is attracted to Megan, but he fights it until he realizes it's the "rux", aka mating fever. Megan is eventually caught up in the rux as well, & it makes it hard to focus if it's not "handled" regularly.
I really liked this book. I thought the characters were well-written & unique. The world building was very detailed, and the plot was very interesting. The story has intrigue, protesters, friends/allies turn traitors, steamy scenes, and a HEA.
YOWZERS! Hot, sexy, entertaining, action, danger... heck did I forget anything? This book had it all. I loved this next edition to the Star-Crossed Alien Mail Order Brides. Of course mates do not always present themselves at the perfect moment in time. Fate likes to play around and is kind of a jokester. Karos and Megan are both in charge of security but they cannot stop an event from happening. (NO SPOILERS) It leaves them both irritated and then they touch. Oh FRAK, now is not the time to meet your mate. I loved the struggle they both went through to attempt to keep the rux at bay. Well Karos knew what it was, Megan... oh she is in the dark and her reaction is priceless. I did not put this book down until the very end and then I kept trying to turn the page.
Another installment of Star Crossed Alien Mail Order Brides, from the talented Susan Hayes. Karos slides right on in the series without missing a beat.
Karos gloomy sexy dragon - Megan his human sassy sexy counterpart. What happens when they both are on the same j.o.b.? Well besides chemistry and sparks? Just know they both are 'doubting Thomas' *grins* With a bit of everything happening lust, passion, healing and some melting your Kindle scenes. Let's not forget a bit of danger what both Karos and Megan step up to handle.
Its a great stand-alone, but really if you haven't enjoyed the previous books grab them up as well. Enjoy Ms. Hayes newest story.
Oh, my! Dragons! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 How can you not love dragons? Especially when they’re fine looking, uber-protective males. I love seeing Karos perform his magic - he can do amazing things. Megan is the perfect match for this security minded Romaki male. Megan’s entire career has been focused on ridding her surroundings of those with evil intent, one way or another. They are so good together! The vile supporters of the Humanity First movement have reached into unexpected areas, creating havoc. Such exciting reading! Best of all (aside from Megan and Karos), we learn of more individuals who may be destined mates. I can’t wait for more!
This was such an amazing read by Susan Hayes that I highly recommend!!! I love all paranormal dragon shifter books and this did not disappoint. Karos is the alpha male head of security but gloomy feeling he doesn't deserve a mate. Magan is on a security detail and his perfect counter part and his perfect match. Karos went to earth looking for a mission and Magan gave him a life!!! No spoilers, but there's danger, suspense, drama, intrigue, passion, magic, deep attraction and love! You can't go wrong with this book an awesome read and I can't wait to read more!!!!

I love so much about this story and this couple. They’re more mature than we’re used to, they’re warriors, and they’ve both pretty much given up on finding the one. The fates don’t care. But no matter their attraction first they have a job to do. This book grabbed me from page one. I felt like I knew Karos and Megan. Their struggles feel real. The Romaki dragon shifters totally possible. This is one sexy, fun sci-fi tale.
Well written fast paced story full of danger and steamy romance
This is another fun read from Susan Hayes, capturing all the zing I love in her stories. Danger, intrigue, interesting characters that are well matched on all levels and a deep love full of heat and chemistry. This one features two people that are used to taking care of others and it's all the more enjoyable to watch their interactions as Karos tries to cotton-wrap Megan. Good fun!
Oh MY! What a wonderful book. I could not decide whether it should be devoured in one sitting or savoured like fine wine..... so I did both. Susan Hayes has a way of telling a story that lets you sink right into it. It engulfs and enchants you. Do yourself a favour. Read this book. You will not be sorry you did.
Book seven in the Star-Crossed Alien Mail Order Brides (Intergalactic Dating Agency) series. A well written story that had me smiling as I read. Karos and Megan's story has suspense, drama, danger, intrigue, fated mates, and romance.I enjoyed reading their story. Karos is on earth. He’s not looking for a mate. He’s all brooding alien with scars. Megan is strong and they are working to identify who’s behind some bad dealings. He’s not looking for a mate, but he sure finds his sadina in Megan. And his fever kicks in.

This is the first book I have read in this series but I cant wait to go back and read the rest. Karos is so weary of being alone he comes to Earth resigned to that face. Enter Megan his perfect match and who can resist a super sexy protective dragon? This read has it all danger, action steamy scenes and excellent characters. Susan Hayes is fast becoming one of my go to authors.
Finding your mate during a crisis. adrenaline is high and the voice of the dragon is insistent, hmmmm.... how would they deal with all that? Funny thing, looks like it’s not only them who has found their mates.
