This was such an interesting account of this historical blanket. Used to trade with Northern Canadian Native People—included in treaties, been to Hollywood, Mt. Everest, Lindbergh’s Trans-Atlantic Flight—prominent among the those who participated in the gold rush, and on and on!

I will show how little I knew: I’d never heard of this iconic blanket until recently. So, now I’m a fan. I want to crochet a version of it for my friend who introduced me.

I’ll be referring to this little book often.

Good introduction to the history of the Hudson's Bay Company and "The Blanket." Lots more to know here but this is an entertaining start. Buy a point blanket direct from The Bay and you may get a copy for free.

Cute little book. Nice to find out more about the history of such a Canadian institution.
