Songwriters and musicians convey complex emotions through their music, and graphic designers and artists are then faced with the challenge to create complimentary graphics to go with them. A four star book as per design and graphic content, and a two star book as per the terribly written descriptions of the included designs.... thus I average it out to a “3”. This book needed a better writer/editor.
I just found this on sale at a used bookstore, and so I bought it. I have no idea if I'm supposed to have any prior knowledge or understanding. It's full of beautiful art , the graphics that either represent music or used to market the music. Each page is pretty thick and typically has the CD cover, poster, and some very brief information about the artist (both the designers and the singers). I honestly shallowly just fell in love with the cover, so... *stares wistfully*
