Come Back to Me #5

Fall into Me

Rate this book
An unexpected and searing romance unfolds between a young recording artist and her ex-Marine bodyguard trying to outrun his difficult past in this wrenching novel from the author of Come Back to Me and Run Away with Me.

Luna is one of the most famous singer-songwriters in the world. But she’s barely keeping it together. Demands from her family, friends, and fans have all become too much. Especially when she starts receiving threatening messages from a dangerous stalker.

That’s when Will comes into the picture. A Marine who has just returned from a tour in Afghanistan, Will is unsure what to do with the next chapter of his life. So when a job working security comes up, he figures he’d be a perfect fit. But Will wasn’t expecting a job that thrusts him so into the limelight—and he definitely wasn't expecing Luna; a human huricane who’s used to getting whatever she wants.

Once Luna begins to let her guard down and show her real self to Will, their relationship moves from professional friendship to something more. As Will battles his inner demons, and Luna attempts to escape the realities of fame, they discover a deep connection that can’t be denied. But Will knows he shouldn’t compromise himself with a client. It’s too risky. Too complicated.

And yet none of that matters when the threats against Luna only get worse, leading to an altercation that could mean both Will and Luna losing the one thing that means everything to them—each other.

I love myself a bodyguard romance with some dramaaaa

Honestly the story was fun and interesting and even though the pacing was very odd, I liked it. The only real issue is the ending🧍‍♀️. I hated it…

Also some of these characters should have not been forgiven this easily???

I thought for sure this was going to be a solid 4 star read for me. I really enjoyed it and loved both characters so much.

I thought this was a great slow burn (no kiss until close to 60%) but then learn that by 60% of the book the characters had only known each other for a handful of days. Ugh this ruined it for me lmao.

This was basically insta love but written to be slow burn.

Still it was enjoyable enough for what it was.

I might as well say it from the get go, this is a 4 (maybe 4.5) star book, but I'm giving it five stars. I absolutely loved this book, and although the ending was pretty predictable, for the most part I found it to be quite well written. As I have said before, I truly believe Mila Gray's writing gets better with each book in this series. Come Back to Me started as a cute, but incredibly cliche and tropey romance, but since that book I've found Mila Gray's writing to have advanced quite a bit. The romance is equally as cute as that first book, but it feels more natural and less trope dependant (although who knows, maybe it's just tropes I like now, so I'm noticing it less). She has also gotten better and better at incorporating strong messages into her novels. This book dealt with an abundance of social issues, some which are a bit harder to empathize with, like the struggles of fame, but Mila Gray also presents a lot that are deeply relatable, such as what it's like to struggle with mental illness and/or self esteem issues, the way women are bombarded with criticism on social media, how men in positions of power get away with sexual assault, and so much more. Overall, I really loved this book, and this series as a whole. The romantic aspects were super cute and easy to get invested in/root for, and the more serious elements of these books were equally, if not better, written. I'd absolutely recommend this series to anyone looking for a good (albeit fairly predictable) romance. These books make for great beach reads!

This had the typical Mila Gray blueprint, it just didn’t hit the same as the other ones.
I liked each character individually, but it wasn’t enough. Will was protective and honest, but I wanted him to be more open about himself. We get little highlights, but never any genuine conversations with Luna expressing why he is the way he is.
Luna is so kind an considerate. It’s crazy to think that she is only 19 y/o. She really is just trying to do her best, I really liked her. However, I felt like the tension just wasn’t enough. Their connection was a little off.
I liked the angst, I just wished there was more build up. I also appreciated being able to catch up with past people from Mila’s other books!
Overall, quick read but probably my least favourite Gray book.

This book was very emotional and very romantic. It had a famous person trope and a body guard trope which are two of my favs. Plus a mild enemies to lovers things happening. There is also an anxiety rep and some on-page high-intensity anxiety moments/thoughts and a panic attack so beware if that's a trigger for you.

I haven't read any of the previous books in this series, but I didn't feel like that affected my feelings about this book. Each book seems to be able to stand on it's own, but I'm sure it would be more fun to read them in order since some of the characters show up in other books.

I loved that even though Will was Luna's paid bodyguard, she fought to protect herself in many ways. Obviously, she recognized that Will had a job to do and there was a reason for his job, but she wasn't a damsel in distress. She could do things too.

The end scene in this book was everything. It had the suspenseful mystery solving that I had been hoping for and the beautiful and swoony romantic scene to make me tear up. It was perfectly perfect.

Overall, this was a good book with a great romance, some fun tropes, and enough emotional scenes to really pack a punch. I'd absolutely recommend and can't wait to read the others in the series!

While Luna and Will were cute, and I loved Luna’s growth, their story just didn't feel special to me. It could be because I don't like the fame plot, or because I preferred Didi and Walker, but either way the romance felt convenient, not chemistry filled.

I had high hopes with this one since #4 was my fav and I really wanted Will to have an amazing story but this was sooooooooo dang dramatic. I enjoyed the suspense aspect but then the reveal was a total buzzkill. I like to see heroine have more fight to them and was underwhelmed by Lina’s character. There were some really good parts but the whole back and forth between Luna and Jamie really took away some of my interest.

Tropes
- Bodyguard romance
- Pop star
- Anxiety rep

Fall Into Me follows Luna, a pop star barely keeping it together under the demands of her family and fans. After receiving threats, her mother hires a bodyguard - Will to protect her. Luna does not agree with this and tries to get Will to leave but they quickly become close friends.

This book definitely follows the Mila Gray blueprint but just didn’t hit the same as the first two books in the series (which are absolutely amazing by the way!) Luna had a lot of depth as a character but I wish Will had more. It was also nice to see previous characters from the series pop in

I was hooked from the first chapter and couldn’t put this book down finding myself up until 3:30 in the morning to keep reading. Will and Luna are such great characters and you could feel their chemistry coming off the pages! Highly recommend this book and anything by Mila Gray!!!

3.5/5 stars!

Though this was probably my least favorite book in the Come Back to Me series, it was still a pretty solid read! I thought that Will was a very loving main character, and enjoyed the many cute moments between him and the other mc, Luna. <3

Honestly it just kind of felt like there was a puzzle piece or two missing. I found the big reveal to be very underwhelming, and I also feel like important aspects were glossed over (like Luna’s relationship with her mom). I would still absolutely recommend these books though, and I’m so happy to have finally read this one!

I was surprised to see I had missed the newest release in this series by this author. I adored the books before this one and this author continues to make me fall with each book. Though Luna and Will are young, the author has a way to make them feel mature without overdramatizing their situations. They had to grow up faster than the average person and deal with huge emotional situation that would challenge any person at any age.

The authors writing is engaging and vivid and she’s connects the reader to her characters by creating this emotional bond of understanding and sympathy. You get swept up in their feelings in a way that only a good writer knows how to do. Your heart breaks for Luna. She's under this intense scrutiny that no one knows but just a handful of people. Her stresses and anxieties are portrayed so realistically that gives the reader empathy towards a a life that is completely foreign to us. Though Will has no understanding of Lunas daily life, the way they connect and bond shows just how simple love is with no precursor or judgement.

This book was the perfect addition to this series. I truly hope this is not the last we see of this couple becuase o wasn’t ready to leave when the book ended. This was a quick and easy read. Though a bit predictable, it didn’t ruin the overall enjoyment of the story.

I love Mila Gray, I always have ever since I read Run Away With Me. All the books she have written I have enjoyed. It’s not that I didn’t enjoy this book, it was just a bit predictable.

This book explores the enemies to lovers trope (sort of) as well as the bodyguard/ famous person trope. You get to meet Will and Luna, the chapters alternate in their perspectives. This allows you to get to know more about the characters. However I think I just wasn’t a fan of Luna as a character in the beginning so it took a little bit to get into.

I did like the plot we as readers followed and the mystery that unfolded at the end. I can also admit that I did read this book pretty quickly as you do catch yourself following and wanting to know more about the romance and the mystery.

Also if you have read her other books you know the characters from the other books are mentioned in everything she writes, which I personally enjoy considering i’ve read all her books.

Another thing I did enjoy was the fact that you got to see Luna grow as a character and as a women, and she was able to learn how to stand up for herself and become the person who she wants to be and not the person people want her to be.

The book was definitely good, I just wouldn’t rank as my top choice for Mila Gray books.

Oh that was so cute! I couldn't get into Luna at first, with her ugh why is he looking at me like I'm a diva, when she's actually making herself act like a diva. But I'm glad that she grew put of that attitude, it made her look so annoying and kinda weak as a character compared to the other women from the series. But surprisingly, I grew into her character despite being a musician and being a person in the lime light. Never a fan of reading books where the main character is a part of that life. But ugh I loved Will. I knew I would. I loved all the guys from these books, just top notch. It kind of fell flat to me towards the end with the stalker but I can let that slide lol. Although it would've been totally messed up, I could see it being the mom. Bro what a bitch

“You are my world,” I say to him. He leans down. “You are my whole galaxy,” he says grinning, as his lips meet mine.

YA Romance
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Fall Into Me, is a swoon worthy light read. I liked how it talks about serious subjects as well, like how what people say on social media can impact someone’s life, or how we have to stand up for ourselves, because if we don’t, we can easily become our own worst enemies. I enjoyed reading Luna’s and Will’s growth throughout this book, it was inspiring to watch when she finally stands up for herself and becomes the woman she wants, instead of the one everyone is expecting her to be.

Synopsis:
Luna seems to have everything anyone could ever want, a House in Beverly Hills, a successful singing career and a popular boyfriend. But, in reality, she is barely keeping it together, she is super insecure and her anxiety seems to keep getting the better of her. Everyone expects too much of her, more than she can give, plus lately she has been receiving anonymous life threats. That’s where Will comes in. A handsome ex Marine that has been recently discharged and has no idea what to do with his life. So, when he gets offered a private security job he takes it mainly for the money. She can’t stand him, she doesn’t want him there and he isn’t impressed by her one bit. With time Will starts to see the real Luna. The Luna nobody knows and even though he isn’t supposed to, being her bodyguard and all, he starts to develop feelings towards her.

AH LOVE THEM! Will and Luna serving bodyguard and boy obsessed trope <3 I loved their relationship and the way it started slow but they fell fast.

I didn’t like how much Luna went back to Jamie and that whole storyline was just overused IMO. Also her mom and manager guy were annoying as fuck, go away…

I loved how the other couples were mentioned and I liked this ending so much more than the other books! It felt more finished.

this is a reread and idk I guess I liked it the first time but rereading it I’m realizing how childish the writing is and I know it’s a YA book but idk it wasn’t my vibe still I liked the plot and it was intriguing enough but it’s not necessarily a good book
