Winifred is a novelist and the details of her life would be at home in one of her novels. When Inspector Finch arrives at the small town of Bleantor the first thing he encounters is an unknown man who has met his untimely end. The mystery only deepens when he arrives at Wallinger’s house which has its own strange history. He must find out who in this supposedly haunted house has sinister intentions and how far they will go to carry out their plan. This book is a mystery with gothic elements a slow build but does have many gothic elements mixed with mystery.
