When shifters are being sacrificed for black magic, a girl's got to take aim and fire.
I'm a fox shifter in a world run by humans. They treat us like we're beneath them, even shooting us when they have the chance. I'll do anything to protect my family, so I learned how to shoot back. My aim is true and I'm just waiting for someone to piss off the wrong vixen.
Turns out we have bigger threats than humans. And now they want more of us. Black magic is spreading, fueled by the blood and bones of shifters like us to do horrible things.
With my mates at my sides, I have to stop the kidnappings and the sacrifices. Or die trying.
This complete trilogy follows a badass heroine with a gun, and her three love interests as they take on an enemy threatening all shifter species. Heart-racing action, emotional roller coasters, and reverse harem steam await you in this omnibus edition.
Includes: Wolf's Bane Fox Tale Eagle Eyes
Shifted Mates is set in the same world as Crystal Ash's other series, Unholy Trinity and Northwest Wolf Pack.
There is something about this series that does not lend itself to the RH genre.
Astrid doesn’t particularly want to have a relationship with either Chase or Conan and reluctantly agrees to have sex with them because her much older partner, Orion, keeps pushing the issue. He goes so far as to pursue both men for her. She then goes out of her way to demonstrate to both Chase and Conan that Orion is her only priority. I kept waiting for Chase or Conan to grow a spine and make the decision that putting up with Astrid and Orion wasn’t worth their self-respect, but Astrid apparently has a magic vagina and they never do. Orion calls Chase “birdshit” and refers to Conan as “boy” throughout the books. The entire thing came off as ugly and mean-spirited.
The author tries to make the argument that Orion’s backstory and Astrid’s tragedy make up for their hateful behaviour, but there is no sad-sack experience that excuses their selfish dickbaggery. I would take it one step further and point out that the evil human antagonist wanted a full-set of Fox pelts made from Astrid and her family. How is Astrid any different? She wants to collect a full-set of men, but doesn’t treat either Chase or Conan with decency or respect.
As a side note, I had read the first chapter of the Northwest wolves book by the same author. I stopped reading that book to read the background on Voluspa. Astrid is atrocious character in both series and reading this series not only made me dislike her even more, it ruined my enjoyment of the other book.
Fantastic trilogy from one of my favourite authors
I love Crystal's books. Just love them. Her characters are so real, I feel as if I know them, and I cannot get enough of their stories. This series is set in the same world as the Unholy Trinity series and the Northwest Wolf Pack series, both of which I also love. I know that there's a whole lot of love in this review but that's in keeping with all of Crystal's books. She writes reverse harem books but they also contain love between family and love between friends. This series revolves around Astrid, who is close friends with Deja (Unholy Trinity) and Nona (Northwest Wolf Pack). They are all strong women who are lucky enough to find loving, fiercely protective, downright gorgeous mates. I cannot recommend Crystal's books highly enough. Treat yourself to this set now and prepare to shut out the outside world whilst you lose yourself in these thrilling, heartbreaking, uplifting books. And who can resist a silver fox who's actually the Big Bad Wolf?
This was exceptionally entertaining story. It felt fresh and raw, brutal yet soothing. Maybe after all the twisted stories I’ve read it was just good to have something with a good plot that really surprised me from time to time. Not a challenging read but with such a cohesive storytelling properties that I’m looking forward to reading new works from the author.
Such potential. I really liked some moments that built up the main character but I wish there would have been a bit more work on the side characters. Not much but at least some build up on the family would have made the heartbreak feel so much stronger. Also all the other shifters and witches would have benefitted if their characters would have had more dialogue and maybe richer description. I felt like the story was sometimes too much Astrid-centered even when she was observing world and others. But I think these issues might change in time and in following stories so I’m not too hung onit.

It definitely has its ups and downs, emotionally, but it's a great series to read! I rated it 4 stars because there are some editing issues (grammar / punctuation issues and spelling), and I was surprised how the ending suddenly became... an ending. However I see there's more to come after this, I guess, so the ending may not be as abrupt as it appears.
Still, a great read with wonderful characters! There's no mind plays or stringing along or anything, which is a nice change for once. :)
THE PREQUEL INTRIGUED ME, THIS TRILOGY CONTINUED WITH THE SAME
Crystal Ash knows how to explore the mystery and complexity of shifter romance, while being adapt at writing a tale rich in magic, love and loss. The emotional twists and turns as the harem evolves and strengthens through the individual and group connections is slowly developed over this three book trilogy. The characters are not rushed and each compliment and provide the collective with what's needed at the right time and place. While there is a happily ever after, there are questions left unanswered and the next part of the series will hopefully allow for some closure. Great book and recommended for anyone who's a fan of intricate, supernatural romances.
wolf but then tragedy, witch stuff another Fox and an added third eagle mate that was just there. The sex was not graphic and barely there. There is a happy ending boom nothing else. Like, all this talk of saving shifters lives and nothing, not memorable.
I read these books before they went to box set and Crystal Ash never disappoints in her writing. This book is a spin off of her Unholy Trinity with Astrid and her mates. It's so nice to see another side of the characters and their lives.
With shifters being sacrificed for black magic, what can a shifter do but fight back? This trilogy is complete and enjoyable with romance and action that leaves you happy and satisfied upon finishing. I wish there was more but I think the ending wraps it up nicely
I would give this series 0stars but i cant so i give it a 1 I dnf ed the series From the very beginning i felt no chemistry between the characters then i just continued to downspiral. I forced myself to continue reading because of the plot but by book 3, i just couldnt continue. I wasted my time
