Resha He came out of nowhere. One moment I was sitting at a bar alone, sipping on my drink, and the next instant there he was. We shared a powerful night together. Months later, that night continues to invade my dreams. Then, just like in New York, he appears out of the blue. Looking as delectable as he was that night. Yet, I keep my distance. I’ve been burned one too many times. That is, until I need his help. Connor I don’t believe in coincidences. Not when it comes to Resha. She’s been on my mind ever since the night we shared. Now, she needs my help and I will use every resource available to me to keep her safe. Because in such a short period of time, she’s become my entire world.
Let me start off by saying that I do enjoy Ms. Tiffany's work. I do think everyone should read her books. I am in no way disrespecting the author. I think she is excellent at her craft. It's just that this book didn't do it for me.
Within the first couple of chapters, I was turned off simply because of her family. I am in a relationship but the comments from family and friends asking why she was single turned me off. This is a major reason why I stopped hanging out with married couples and couples with children. I had to cut long time friends off because of that. Resha was nice with her responses because I didn't put up with any of that with my family or friends when I was single.
***Being single is NOT a death sentence***. Her family and friends made it seem like her accomplishments in life, happiness and self worth mean nothing without a man *ROLLS EYES SO HARD, THEY GET STUCK IN THE BACK OF MY HEAD* Her family and friends did this "sly" shaming and pressuring. Resha is worth it, with or without a man.
SN: I do think the relationship she has with her best friend/cousin is off. Her cousin marries someone without her being there and then she's mad at Resha for not telling her secrets. It's a bit backwards and hypocritical.
Now, what was the point of Resha being so secretive? She gets attacked and doesn't want her family to know? She didn't want to tell her friends/family about her relationship with Connor but the second she was pregnant, she told her friend before she told Connor. Help me understand that! Resha kept important information to herself that could have kept her safe and she somehow forgets, or intentionally keeps, said information from the police and Connor. Sis, WHAT....WHY!?! Her stubborn attitude was a turn off too. What do you have an attitude for? You're lonely and want a family but at the same time, I feel like Resha is gaslighting Connor.
Connor's "alpha" attitude was a bit over the top and unrealistic at times. I can totally understand his fear and wanting to protect his brother but I thought the way he treated his bother was out of line.
I'll continue to read Ms. Tiffany's work because I do like it. I hope others have a better reading experience than I did.
Y'all--it's Tiffany Patterson. I drop everything to read her books!
I'm also a firm believer in no coincidence. I loved Connor, he was a no non-sense truth teller. Don't ask him, if you don't really want to know the answer. I didn't remember Resha but I still enjoyed this story. In fact, I've enjoyed all of TP's books.
I’m a huge fan of Tiffany Patterson’s books and especially the Townsend series, so I enjoy any character/s that give me a tiny glimpse into their ongoing lives. This book was about Resha McDonald, Destiny’s cousin, whom we met in For Keeps. And Connor O’Brien who was first introduced in Meant To Be and as the owner of The Underground. What I appreciated about this story was that while it wasn’t quite the outlier that Jacob’s Song was (and I kind of hoped it would be), it addressed some emotional issues while giving the characters their HEA. My most loved improvement in this book is there was no dreaded unnecessary separation. Yes, there is a character with baggage and trauma. And yes, the heroine tried her best to sabotage her life and her love, but here, instead of using that to keep the characters apart, which has been done several times in the past by this author and others, the “big relationship hurdle” was worked through by proximity and perseverance, instead of running away or hiding. Which is more of an expression of the love that is professed than is generally rendered in romances. Of course that doesn’t negate that here was a heroine that spent more time in her head, writing her own narratives and jumping to conclusions, pretending to hope for things she dreaded in order to displace her feelings on others. Perhaps, this was my biggest issue with the story, in that Resha really did keep a lot of secrets. While my heart went out to her as a single woman with desires of family and safety, in the space she currently held, it was hard to understand her repeated need to keep things from people she claimed to love and believe loved her, not to mention bringing others into her web. I was excited to meet a character like Connor because he’s a straight shooter. ALL THE TIME. He wasn’t completely a “what you see is what you get” but he could always be relied upon to say exactly what he means and mean it. He was caring and consistent, encouraging and thoughtful but up front. The only drawback was being kept out of some of his thoughts concerning the future. It was clear he wanted Resha but we had little clue of his internal thoughts about what he wanted regarding his own family. Getting to know Mark better and Connor’s aversions was delightful and endearing. I wish we’d been present for a heart to heart with them... But I guess we’ll just have to wait for his book to know more about that.😉
Picked this up immediately and read it quickly with no hesitation and am so glad to add it to my collection. Thank you Tiffany! @withsubtitlesplease
Absolutely loved these fate crossed lovers. Resha and Connor were meant to be together. They just had to deal with the deceit, the stalker and the crazy neighbors! Resha is a lucky woman to be loved by a strong, faithful and super protective man like Connor.
***However, your editor owes you a refund. Way too many errors in a story this tasty!!!
This is one of my favorite authors but this book was so similar to Tyler as Destiny’s book. I wish the author would change her story lines all of the women have some sort of fear and the endings are all predictable. I’ve read several of this authors books and I’ve found them all to be very predictable.
Really enjoyed this book.... Connor was a book bae for sure, the way he took care ❤❤❤ of Rd and just protective he was of her was so beyond sexy. Great love story and was nice to catch up with the Townsend family. I hope Mark is next.
When two lonely strangers met in a New York bar and sought to quell the loneliness they felt in each other for a one night stand, neither knew it was their destiny. That one night together kept playing in their minds and dreams making them wish for more to their lives. So, when they met again at a Townsend family gathering, Conner O'Brien did not hesitate to go after what he wanted and that was Resha McDonald.
Resha's life experience was full of hurt and loneliness. She felt that she was not worthy of love being that her mother just threw her away. She did not know what family life was like until her aunt and uncle took her in when she was abandoned. Her cousin Destiny became her best friend/ sister and business partner. She had self-doubt about her worthiness of being loved truly by a man. Her previous relations were unfulfilling and heartbreaking, so when Connor came into her life, showing her love and affection and wanted to protect her, she was waiting for the shoe to drop with his abandonment when he got bored like all the other men in her life. So when the opportunity arose for her to run after a very trying loss in her life, she wanted to run but Connor would not let her and held fast.
Resha had problems opening up and letting people into her inner sanctum of life. She was harboring secrets not even Destiny and her aunt knew about. She was very reticent in telling Connor about her stalker until she was attacked. He was the only person she was able to let into her heart fully. And she was the only person that Connor allowed to get him to repair the relationship with his brother Mark. He would protect her from anyone who ever hurt her in the past and he vowed to protect her from her stalker and he did.
I loved this story as I do all of Tiffany's books. My heart just broke for Resha when she was in the hospital. My feelings were just raw, reading her feelings in her loss. Considering what she went through as a child with a drug addicted mother, I can imagine how she would feeling when true love came calling. I also loved how the author used Mark's character to lighten a very serious plot. His humor had me laughing and loving his personality. It was also refreshing to see other Townsend family members in the mix as well.
Tiffany Patterson does it again! This book has romance and a bit of suspense added to this mix. Resha is Destiny's cousin who grew up with Destiny as sisters. You may felt that Destiny is married to Tyler from the Townsend Brothers series. I loved how the author weaved in all the characters from that series to the in these two characters who, for the record, I really enjoyed. You will too as you read how a one night stand turns into love. It's a fun read! Recommended
I would have loved to work hear the heroine 's feelings on what happened to her stalker. And will there be any more stories with these characters intertwined?
I liked this book enough to finish it but it took me a while. I liked Connor but the main character… I liked in the beginning but by the middle, I couldn’t connect with her and just got frustrated.
I know I am late to the party and I am trying to catch up on all the books I have missed out on. I would like to recommend this one as a good read. I loved Connor and that strong gentle way he had with dealing with Resha, claiming her before she even really accepted that they were a couple. I enjoyed this story.
I have been patiently waiting for a new Tiffany Patterson book. She did not disappoint. I loved resha and Connor. Resha was a lil erky butttttt turned out ok.
I'm new to Tiffany this year! I can't stop posting about her on my TT. You know what expect and she never fails to give you swoonworthy, possesive and protective heroes. You can also count on her to give you complex and relatable FMC!!
This was a great read. I loved it. I would to read more about this couple. All I can say is this, "We all need a Conner." Resha's story was great. Some parts of her back story were glossed over and I wished there could have been more background info about her past. However, that did not take away from her story. I'm glad she got her HEA!!!
Connor is a caring, strong, protector. Connors demeanor is a constant throughout the book. I liked how his focus was ensuring Resha was safe, protected and the love he has for her and his family. I found Resha to be unlikable. Her continued disregard for her family's feelings considering their close relationship made her actions, behavior and attitude not believable. I am a fan of this author's writing.....The build-up of the threat and the storyline was anticlimactic.
When I first met Raesha McDonald in the book For Keeps( You MUST read),I instantly took a liking to her. I was curious to know more about her story. She had sass and who doesn’t like a sassy diva? While in New York on business, she meets and has a one night stand with Conner O’ Brian. I liked Connor. He was possessive and cocky but he also had caring and protective instincts that I felt Raesha needed. I wanted more layers of Connor peeled back but unfortunately the book focus more on Raesha and her infuriating behavior.I can’t even front. The more I got to know her, the more I just didn’t like the woman. She irritated me with her constant disregard of the feelings of her family and people closest to her. Some of the decisions she made in were unbelievable. Like, you can’t be that selfish and stupid. There were parts of this story where my heart went out to her because I knew personally what she was going through. Then, she would go and high jump to conclusions or make another unnecessary decision. I knew then that I was done with her. The highlights of this book for me was Connor and his protective spirit, getting to know more about Mark and reconnecting the the Townsend family. That was a breath of fresh air and I hope that Mark gets his own story. I’m a Tiffany Patterson fan but this book was definitely not for me. I had a hard time getting past Raesha’s behavior. I look forward to the next Townsend novel
Well...not quite what I wanted but still ok "a Stòr"...
So this is not one of the Townsend's man and so we already know that the challenge is going to be greater and it was. Resha, cousin of destiny (wife of Tyler the nfl brother) is the fashionista guru and is doing extremely well as a BBW spokesperson and all. Smart, intelligent, independent, yearning for what Destiny has, she goes thru life with a lot of issues and needs. Connor, brother of Mark (the wheelchair assistant executive of the older brother, Aaron Townsend) is the owner of the underground fighting gym and etc... Smart, intelligent, more hardcore than the other guys but not as hardcore as Joshua Townsend is a fighter. Handsome, boss man, he retired after an event and has been moving ever since. This story per Connor is of no coincidence that these two meets like that en they were more connected than what each of them thought they were. The problem I had with this was the feeling of being rushed or not having anything to give this couple, so they were grasping at straws. For instance, these photo shoots that Resha does, nothing is being said until it's done. Mother her travels, where as she been? Was it in state? Out of the country? Where? Then you have Connor who mind you not a scientist has started a line of natural sports items, but how come no talk about his lab or where are his stuff being done, manufactured and packaged or does he get it some where, removing their packaging and put his own? Also this little visit of Connor to the nursing home, so not necessary unless you needed to fill some pages out. Then for the life of me why not give the meaning of "a Stòr", why this big mystery? Yelp, it didn't cut it for me and so for now I am just going to wait for another of MS. Patterson because I know it's coming.
I loved Tiffany Patterson’s books from the moment I first read Black Pearl and she hasn’t disappointed me yet. This was another beautiful story by this author and as usual I love when some of my older favorite characters are mentioned. It was beautiful with the way Conner and Resha found their HEA. Mind you, although the peak point in this story was not as heart stopping as the other (I mean Resha coming face to face with her stalker) it was just as good. The stalker was dealt with swiftly with no long talking lol. Nevertheless, I’d definitely recommend this book. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did
One of the reason I love these books by Ms. Patterson is because there's always some creepy mystery guy. I love a suspenseful romance. I'm happy Resha and Conner found love, I,loved how he stood by her even when she was doubting him and their love for each other. I'm never disappointed about reading about the the Townsend's. My favorite being Tyler and Destiny also love Patience and crazy Aaron. Can't wait to see if they'll be any upcoming books.
Thank you Tiffany Patterson for another wonderful, enjoyable book from Williamsport. Resha certainly met her match in Conner especially when it came to being stubborn. She might have even been out matched. Connor quickly became one on my favorite Alpha's along with those Townsend men. this is a modern love story where social media plays an important part . I highly recommend this book which is on my re-read list. Especially if you like sexy Alpha men, romance, suspense, action and HOT love scenes. I know that all of us fans are anxiously waiting for Mark's story.
I enjoyed reading this book so much! I enjoyed Rests and Conner journey to love. One night in New York turned into a love of a lifetime between them! I enjoyed the storyline and the chemistry between Rests and Conner! Such a fantastic and Outstanding Book!
It's "No Coincidence," yeah, pun intended, that I loved this story of a one night stand in a star city that became so much more! Throw in that and Connor's constant potty mouth and over the top badass persona, you have one excellent read! Oh, and I liked Resha, also!!!
Why Ms. Tiffany? Why must you make lust after these Townsend men and especially their darn friends. Goodness! I even want me some Mark. You gave me Connor and all of his alpha/domineering/asshole ways and made me love errrrrthang about him. I see why Reesha fell quick and hard. He got yummy...yummy! Never ever doubt the power of your pen!
The author did a very poor job of providing background on the h character so what transpired was a very whiny, secretive pretentious and very unlikable character. By the time the author got around to explaining the past history, it was at the end of the story and by that time, the dye was cast. It was not an enjoyable read.
I'm glad that Resha's story is told, and Connor is her perfect match. He's just as stubborn as she is, if not more. He is firm and doesn't let her insecurities push him away. Resha finally let's Connor all the way in, and let herself feel the love that she's been missing, wanting, and craving.
