This is such an adorable book. Like many of us Sunny the Bunny was also afraid of trying new things. She felt queasy when her mom signed her up for the summer camp. At the camp, first, she missed her parents but later on, she enjoyed every bit of it and made new friends. There were little messages for children like one should wear a life vest when sailing and seat belt while riding in the car for safety. The colourful illustrations made the book even more adorable. This book would be a perfect start for all the children.

Sunny the Bunny: Goes to Camp by Jace Higgins and Paige Bekish is a sweet, little children's book!

The illustrations are absoultely adorable! The cover, the pictures, ugh! All of it is just so sweet and cartoon-y! I love one of the first pages with little ballerina bunnies! It's so adorable!

Onto the story itself:

Sunny is a cute bunny who likes to read and bake. Her Mom signed her up for summer camp, which she isn't too happy about. When she gets there, even though it's super exciting she still wants to go home. Slowly, Sunny the Bunny learns to love camp.

I think this is a great book to introduce to kids who are going to camp for the first time! It shows all the fun a kid can have at camp - games, campfires, sports and friendships! It's an absolutely cute and adorable way to bring this subject up. As someone who used to work in camps and with camps, I think this would be excellent for parents to read to first time campers and for counsellors to read to their young campers!

Three out of five stars!

Thank you Greenleaf Book Group & NetGalley for the a chance to review this book.

Sunny the Bunny is absolutely adorable. It’s about a bunny who goes to camp. They have hesitations and worries, and ends up enjoying trying the new things at camp. The Yoga class was probably my favorite illustration.

I liked the rhyme scheme and the illustrations a lot. It was a very cute book.

This book is so cute and adorable. It is about a bunny who is afraid to try new things, and then goes to a camp, make new friends and have a lot of fun. I loved that it was written in poem. I think children will really enjoy this book! And hopefully this book will teach them that we should not be afraid to try new things in life.

This children’s book is very sweet! My 4 young boys loved it! The 7 year old even read it to the 5 year old. I think kids can really relate to Sunny the Bunny and how the bunny feels about going to camp. The feelings the bunny experiences are similar to what some kids feel when they try something new, and the fact that Sunny the Bunny ends up enjoying new things at camp, teaches kids a good lesson. The illustrations in this book are beautiful and so vibrant. I love all the colors used and how the cover pages are filled with a beautiful bunny design. So artistic! Thank you Greenleaf Book Group & NetGalley for the chance to review this book.

Sunny the Bunny: Goes to Camp is a sweet picture book about a nervous little bunny who goes away for her first week of sleep-away camp. Before she goes she is all anxious and makes herself queasy. But, once she arrives at camp she starts to have fun.

This is a good story about overcoming your fears and trying new things. Plus the illustrations are adorable! My son like seeing all the different animals that were also at the camp.

This book is so cute and heart-warming. Sunny the Bunny is afraid of new things and doesn't want to go to camp.
I had a bunny once. His name was Cesare and he was so shy.. I imagine Sunny just like him, shy and insecure and afraid of new things.
I'm sure little readers will love this book! And they will learn to be fearless because everything new hide fun and adventure.

Thanks to Netgalley for providing me with a free copy of the book in exchange for a honest review. It is a forced rhyme tale of Sunny the Bunny's first experience at sleep away camp. It might be useful for reading to younger kids who are feeling apprehensive about going away to camp. My digital galley only had a cover illustration. The illustrations are flat and amateurish. I am assuming that the finished book will be fully illustrated. The author is a teenager. It seems to be her first book. All young people who aspire to be writers should keep writing and use the feedback that they get from readers.

DELIGHTFUL! And a PERFECT book for going to camp, sleepaway camp or day camp, even a new childcare daycare place!

This is a wonderful story about a bunny going away to camp facing fear of leaving home for an overnight stay away from mom and dad for the first time. The text is told in charming rhyme, and it would be so incredibly easy to make a song of it and continue the fun for the child! It could also be a rap, haha!

I didn't expect to be so entertained by this book. I had a child that clung to me like a baby koala at every new foray into the world. How I wish I'd had this book then to make something fun of the discomfort and show how the feelings change with the adventures had! I love how this book progresses from fear to some curiosity to complete child adventurous fun easily all in the span of a few pages. The storyline is smooth, no hard turns, and you can feel the sing-song nature of it, allowing a child to memorize some or many of the words as a personal mantra or personal anthem, singing a new way of feeling and being, bold and brave and the rewards that come.

"Now we are zip-lining
over the trees.
My fluff is all messy
because of the breeze."

Haha! How cute is this, messy fluff?! I love it.

Fantastic book! Highly recommended for many ages, from toddler on up, to help with needing to be away from home for hours or days. Even older kids can use this type of help once in a while. Beautiful find!

Sunny the Bunny is a sweet story about a bunny that goes to camp. It gently talks about fears of trying new things and becoming independent from parents at sleep away camp. This book would be a great introduction for any child headed to camp for the first time!

This is a good little read, with nice illustrations. It is written well and is definitely a book that lots of little ones will adore and want to return to, time and again. The rhymes are wonderful and flow nicely, really giving the book a good feel. It also has a great lesson about exploring and getting away from home, to a safe place, being a great adventure.

Sunny Bunny was scared to try something new but when she went to camp, she got to try lots of new things and learned that can be fun to do new things. There were a few places that the text didn't flow so I wonder if the ebook got out of order. Overall cute story and illustrations..

I received an electronic ARC from Greenleaf Book Group through NetGalley.
Sunny is nervous about trying some new things, especially going away to camp. However, once there, Sunny discovers how much fun it can be to try new things and make new friends. By the end, Sunny can't wait for next year.
Higgins captures the nerves and excitement for younger children heading to camp. His character, Sunny, shares the same feelings so readers can see themselves and see how much fun new adventures can be. The illustrations capture the settings and feelings on each page.

New Things Can Be Fun

This is a sweet story of a little bunny who is afraid to try unfamiliar things and is particularly scared to be going away to summer camp. But the little bunny goes anyway, and of course, has a marvelous time. The book details the various activities at the camp and highlights Sunny and her new friends, like the lion and panda. The illustrations are relatively simple with little detail. The only one that was really hard for me to see was Sunny's father. The illustrator made the bunny so dark (and all details) that I couldn't see any distinguishing features on the PDF ARC copy that I received. One illustration almost made me laugh out loud. Sunny and friends are doing some dancing on Hawaiian night wearing grass skirts. The panda even has a coconut shell bra! There are other bits of humor throughout that the adults will probably appreciate more than the child, like the page with the campers doing yoga. In the text, it says they are doing the little puppy pose when they are doing downward-facing dog. Very cute. If you have a child who has difficulty trying new things or is afraid of going to summer camp, this book would be the perfect gateway to help discuss the fear or even show the kinds of fun camp activities that they might have to look forward to.

I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.

Sunny the Bunny leaves for camp and she is very sad as she will miss her parents and all that she knows. What she finds out that there is so much to learn and do. She discovers new things to do like zip lining, swimming with friends, winning a talent contest. She has so much fun that she is sad to leave on her last day.

If you have high hopes for your child to do camp in the near future, this is a great resource to talk about camp. I was a camp leader for 6th graders and even they miss their parents on the first day. Camp is such a great way to build up your children and finding the best camp that inspires that will be the greatest gift you can give your kids. A memory that will be with them for a life time.

This book was received as an ARC from Greenleaf Book Group in exchange for an honest review. Opinions and thoughts expressed in this review are completely my own.

This book was so cute and inspiring to see creatively expressing a common fear, going to summer camp for the first time and the fear of fitting in and making friends. Sunny however was scared at first but until she arrived and stepped off the bus and heard the cheers from the other campers and counselors that broke the ice and she still opened up and made new friends and even participated in the talent show. The drawings were so brilliantly done and adorable. I know a lot of our young readers will love this book and will want to read it to our friends.

We will consider adding this title to our Picture Book Collection at our library. That is why we give this book 5 stars.

Thank you NetGalley and Greenleaf Book Group for gifting me an eARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This book will definitely help kids to understand that new things can be fun and enjoyable and that they shouldn’t be afraid to try them. The story is cute, but doesn’t flow as well as I would like it too, as some of the rhymes trip me up when I’m reading. I’d probably recommend this for 4-5 year olds as some of the words are bigger (like queasy and rappel) and it is a bit on the longer side, so I’m not sure younger kids would sit through the whole thing. The illustrations are simple, but still cute and fun.

What a sweet little book. Sunny Bunny is afraid of trying new things, but Sunny Bunny is scheduled to go to camp. Oh my! What will she do? There will be all kinds of new adventures, new people she does not know - what will she do? Well, she makes some new friends, she tries several new things and when camp is over, she's not ready to go home, and already making plans to do it again next year. This would be a great book to read to young children who are reluctant to try new things. Written and illustrated by a couple of high schoolers makes this book even more meaningful.

"Sunny the Bunny: Goes to Camp" by Jace Higgins and Paige Bekish is a delightful children's' book with beautiful illustrations starting with the book's front cover. Sunny is a bit anxious about her first time at a sleepaway camp. Clara, my 5yr old granddaughter, oohed and awed as she opened the front cover and discovered the ballet bunnies pages.
How do I know Sunny the Bunny is a great book? Clara wanted to reread Sunny immediately after the first read. I recommend Sunny for parents, grandparents, and anyone who loves children.
Congratulations to the teenage authors and I hope to read your future books.

Thank you NetGalley and publishers for an ARC. All opinions are my own.

This is such a sweet book that touches on the anxiety and nervousness that transpires that one experiences as a child on the way to something unfamiliar. Readers get to meet Sunny the bunny, an adorable character who is timid and sweet. She is scared about the unknown land at summer camp, but soon finds thrill and friendships await her. I love this book as a great read for elementary students. Wonderfully written by young authors!!

This was a really cute little story all about encouraging young children to try new things.

I read the book with my daughter and she loved it and wants to read it again straight after which is the sure sign that it is a hit with her and we have read it most days since too!

I thought that the images were lovely and really suited the book. Sunny the Bunny is a little like my daughter as she is hesitant at times to try new things as she does get a little shy when she is with others.

It is 5 stars from me and my daughter for this one - highly recommended!!
