Wild Minds Duet #2

Hate to Love Him

Rate this book
A gorgeous, brooding rock god.
An unstoppable chemistry we fight to ignore.
Desperate passion I want indelibly inked on my soul.

Jobless and financially destitute, I have no choice but to see this tour through. Even with my boss hating my guts. A fact he goes out of his way to prove every chance he gets.
Lucky for me, the best part of Jasper Diamond is his daughter. But being the nanny on the road with one of the world’s biggest rock bands poses more challenges than I was expecting – including falling for the elusive front man.
But with the world chasing after us, how long can we hide what others are determined to exploit?
They say there is a thin line between love and hate.
That all good things must come to an end.
Set on a collision course, nothing could have prepared us for this.
Or for what fate has in store for us.

J. Saman is a USA Today and Amazon top 10 bestselling author who writes sassy, swoony, and scorching contemporary romances. She is addicted to Diet Coke, sour candy, and indie rock. J. Saman continues to torture THREE hearts meant to be together! The second half of her romantic duet, HATE TO LOVE HIM makes book one look like an emotional walk in the park, page after page, after page!

After being left in an emotional chokehold, book two picks up with even more detail, more gut-clenching twists and an even higher level of writing from this talented author! J. Saman shows her expertise in how she handles autism and the repercussions of the insatiable public where fame and fortune is paid for in spades.

As Jasper’s love for both his daughter and Viola becomes even more obvious, events and horrors play out that just may force him to choose, unless someone else does it for him. All the while, I am screaming NO, NO, NO! In a world where things can get so ugly, how can Jasper and Viola finally find their own happily ever after?

Beautifully written, in turns sharp and jagged, then tender and sweet, one can only hope that love truly can conquer all, no matter who you are. A wonderful rollercoaster of romance, where one way or the other, things just have to work out, especially for Adalyn.

I received a complimentary ARC edition from J. Saman! This is my honest and voluntary review.

I dove right into this book needing to know how this story played out and I was NOT disappointed. The writing was even better in this book than the last; more detail, more emotions, more angst. Just more! I loved and appreciated the descriptions given surrounding Adalyn. They were spot on. It was written so well I couldn't decide if the author did immaculate research or had first-hand experience. By the end, I could easily tell it was first-hand experience.

Viola and Jasper still pull all the angsty and swoon worthy emotions from my heart. I enjoyed watching these two sort their issues out and move forward. There was a major twist that I didn't see coming that could've torn these two apart and I loved how they handled it.

This duet is so full of angst that it took me on one hell of a rollercoaster. I fell in love with all the characters and look forward to seeing what's in store for sweet Gus.

This was my first time reading J. Saman’s work, and I truly loved the Wild Minds Duet. Started with the sample of book one, was engaged, then kept on reading straight through until I finished the second book. I normally am not into typical rock star romances, but Jasper Diamond was a single dad of an autistic daughter, and was a hero worthy of the title. He was a talented song-writer and musician, a loyal brother to his twin, Gus, and sacrificed his own happiness putting the needs of his autistic daughter, brother, and the love of his life, Viola, first.

Wow! There was so much character development and the writing was exceptional. I truly felt for the characters and was totally invested in their story and what happened next. Viola grew up basically alone with a negligent mother with addiction issues. She was friends with Gus and Jasper and the other band members since they were children, and was there for them from the start of their music career.

There is a lot that happens between the twins, and I don’t want to give too much away, but basically Jasper sat by the sidelines and watched the love of his life date his brother Gus through high school. Viola ends things with Gus when he let his music career get to his head and couldn’t remain faithful, and pursues an advanced teaching degree focusing on special education. Jasper needs a teacher and nanny for his three year old, Ady, and Viola and him meet up again when she takes on the job after seven years of being apart.

SO MUCH HAPPENS as they yearn for each other yet don’t know how the other truly feels. So many misunderstandings plus there are people deliberately jeopardizing and sabotaging their chance at happiness. Gus is no help as he keeps laying claim to the woman he hurt years ago and Jasper needs to decide if he should fight for the woman he loves or live a life of what ifs...

Gus is very loveable and fun, just not the right brother for our sweet heroine. This book had me feeling every emotion and it surpassed all of my expectations. Their relationship was complicated, steamy, and ever evolving and as a reader, you are right there with them through it all.

And my heart was so full reading how much Voila loved Ady and how Ady loved and trusted Viola. Viola was so deserving of love having a mother who not only abandoned her, but took advantage of her as well. The multitude of vivid descriptions of how Jasper was feeling also went straight to my heart, and I just wanted to give him a giant hug and tell him, she loves you! She chooses you! Go get your girl.

The last few chapters of this wonderful duet were my favorite, and I could finally exhale. Great job Ms. Saman!

This book continues the story of Book One of the Wild Minds Duet, Love to Hate Her.

Synopsis:
After the uncertain ending between Viola and Jasper at the end of Book One, this story starts with Wild Minds being one month into their tour. They're in Atlanta now, where Viola is slowly progressing with Adalyn's speech though there are a few setbacks from time to time. With Gus still being in the middle, as far as Jas thinks, will Viola and Jas ever be able to find their happy ever after?

Review:
Most of the times, just like Viola, I too was frustrated at Jas blowing hot and cold. And him badmouthing and calling Viola names didn't make me appreciate him at all. To the point that I had an on and off relationship with the story for most of the book. Until the EndNote, that is. The way the author put her experience of writing the story, that made me appreciate it more.
With this man, I’m home. My heart has a place. My soul, a partner. My body, a warmth unlike any other.

Wild Minds are now touring Europe - London, Manchester, Scotland, Dublin, Paris and about twenty more places - before they return to America, in the remaining four months of their tour. The characters were quite a revelation in this one. How everyone dealt with fame, how they coped with heartbreak, the familial bonds that the author beautifully put into words.
That magical thing that only music can give you. Only live music at that. It’s a flutter. A palpitation. A tingly jolt across the skin.

At one point, it even felt like two brothers, and twins at that, squabbling over a girl. It seemed pretty and infuriating. But when the truth comes out, the reasons behind why whatever happened in that way; it put everything into perspective. And I liked both Gus and Jas a little bit more. And began to understand their world, their feelings, their choices. The paparazzi are always after famous people, sometimes to the point of ugliness, and it is no different for Wild Minds but especially for the ones not been directly linked to the band. Like Ady and Viola. I had guessed correctly about who the leak came from, in the first book itself. Though it did make me realise how all of us at some point judge others based on some out-of-context pictures. And the moment I thought that there would be more turbulence, which I so didn't want, instead, the author brings about a closure to the story nicely.

There are two epilogues. One is six months later, and the other is from Gus' perspective ...

Thank you to InkSlinger PR for an e-ARC of the book.

I was craving this book from the second I finished book 1! And seriously, this book might be a tad bit better than the first book. The author is giving so much detail, especially on Adalyn, it's amazing and spot on!
The tour continues, and Viola and Jasper get closer each day. Throw in little Adalyn (who is ADORABLE!!!) who loves Viola with her whole heart, they look like a perfect little family.
Until one thing happens, Jasper didn't want to happen at all! J. throws in some twist and turns which keeps you glued to the kindle, because you HAVE to know what's happening.
The feelings in this book are written so vividly, it's giving you goosebumps reading this book.
I really really enjoyed this duet!

I kindly received an ARC from the author and voluntarily left a review!

Ohmigosh. Ohmigosh. Ohmigosh. I am not usually a fan of angsty books but this duet was absolutely amazing! Jasper & Viola just made me fall in love with them. Even when my heart was breaking I had to keep going to see that these two (well...three including Adalyn) would get their HEA.
This duet was my first series by J.Saman and I am a fan for life! Her writing is amazing & I love how she created such a wonderful world for me to fall into!

This book is all the answers and more I needed from book 1. I practically devoured it in one sitting, I just couldn't put it down. I'll admit I was a little stressed going into this book. My biggest fear was that more and more drama would come about. And when Jasper and Viola weren't immediately together in the first couple of chapters I started to get stressed. But once they finally got together I started to relax. Their first time? D**n... that's all I'm gonna say. I loved this book. I loved how Viola viewed Jasper and his fame. I loved how strong she was, even when crap hit the fan. But what I truly loved the most was her interactions with Adalyn, Jasper, and even Gus.

Gus, now there is a man who needs his own story. The talk him and Jasper had.. what a heart. Loved their brotherly love!

I'm glad this book didn't have as much angst as the first book. I don't think my heart could have taken it. It had more swoon worthy moments and that's what made me love it more. Jasper is a true romantic, especially his Prince Charming comparison.. lol

I'm glad I took a chance on this book. I'm glad I got to meet this amazing band, Viola, and especially Adalyn. This book definitely reminded me that life is precious and we should always treat people with respect, no matter how rich or poor they are. And in the end the ones we truly love and who truly love us will never hurt us. *I voluntarily read an advanced copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.*

Oh wow, oh wow, I’ve been dying for the second half of Vi and Jasper's story, and it’s finally here!! These two haven’t left me alone since I read the first book. All pestering and annoying with their “Hey, we're still here. Don’t forget us. You need to keep us fresh in your mind for the rest of our story. Oh, and this corner of your heart, right here? It belongs to us. Permanently.”

In case you’re not aware, the setup for this story is a wildly popular rock band on tour. Viola grew up with and was friends with the guys in the band and dated Gus until his wandering rock star ways put the final nail in their relationship coffin. His twin brother, Jasper, has always had a thing for the girl he could never have, and now she's the nanny for his special needs daughter while the band is on tour. Unfortunately, he hides his infatuation under a heap of meanness and stoicism, but the close quarters with Vi is more than any mere mortal can handle.

In my review for the first book, I said, “It's sweet, touching and poignant, but so complicated, complex and heart wrenching.” But then Saman supersized all of this in the second book! So much more push and pull between Jasper and Vi, more angst, and more of sweet, awesome little Ady. And wait until you dig into Gus as his layers are peeled back and we get a glimpse of the real Gus. Holy wow! Not at all what I expected, but now I’m dying for his story!

If wishing made it so, these characters would be real and their story would never end. While this is a phenomenal conclusion, I want the story to go on so I can watch sweet Ady grow up and see the other guys get their HEA. It takes not only talent but a true gift for a writer to be able to connect her readers so strongly with her characters that they leave their mark on the soul and live forever in the reader's heart.

Saman has raised the bar and surpassed it with this duet. These characters. Gah! They ruined and wrecked me then knit me back together, and they 100% own me. They leave me at a loss for words to express how amazing and special they are. Even if you've not read the rock star trope, don’t pass up the chance to read this fantastic story. It's emotional, touching, exceptional, unexpected, and truly unforgettable.

Viola has made her choice and she has chosen Jasper but that may not be enough. He is still battling the demons of his past and conflicted over what this means for the band and for his relationship with his brother.

Viola is not sure what is going on with Jasper when it comes to her. She must protect herself from any further pain and that means focusing all her love and attention on Adalyn. Will Jasper realize that the risk of loving Viola is worth the reward before it is too late?

This is an emotional story that will keep you captivated until the last page, but it is the realism of the characters that makes this story so special.

The conclusion to Jasper & Viola!

Wow, this was a mixture of so many emotions. After Viola gives her heart to Jasper she’s left once again in the dark of what she means to him. The hot and cold of his demeanor towards her has her second-guessing everything and building her walls back up.
"He looks at me with love, touches me with fire, and speaks to me with hate."

Once broken-hearted she doesn’t want to fall in that trap again even though she’s already given her full heart to Jasper.

Stuck between the girl he loves and the love and respect for his brother, Jasper is torn. He doesn’t want to lose Viola and he definitely doesn’t want to lose his brother he needs to find the right moment to come clean.

"She's my homecoming. My reckoning. My salvation."

Lots ride against a relationship with Jasper & Viola but will their love for each other be strong enough to make them whole and family for Adalyn?

A rock star romance with insane steamy scenes and emotions that will have you grappling for more.

Finally, we get the rest of Viola and Jasper's story which began in Love to Hate Her. I was completely caught up in the story from beginning to end. The relationship between endlessly patient Viola and broody Jasper is complicated and emotional but in this book they finally get their sh*t together and I loved it. The writing is wonderful and perfectly conveys the deep and abiding love and longing between these characters who were always destined to be together, even though life sent them in separate directions for many years. Viola, Jasper, and Adalyn are firmly embedded in my heart and I am sad to say goodbye to them.

After finishing book one in the series I was dying for book two, I wanted to know what was going to happen when it came to Jasper and Viola. Book two was worth the wait. I loved jumping back into this world and getting more of the relationship.

Jasper and Viola’s story continues with all the angst and emotion we got in the first book. There was drama that could have severely hurt their relationship, and if it weren’t from their history together it probably would have. I couldn’t get enough of them. The tension, the chemistry, the swoony moments. The love they both had for Ady. They both continued to work through all their issues and the past and watching them come together was beautiful. Plus, when they finally give into the attraction. Wooo, grab a fan because you’ll need it!

I completely fell in love with Jas, Vi and Ady. Plus, the rest of the band. I truly hope there is more of them in the future because each guy deserves a story, especially Gus.

Hate to Love Him is A MUST READ and the entire Wild Minds duet is a MUST, especially if you love angsty, emotional, Rockstar romances.

Hate to Love Him by J. Saman. I was excited to get my hands on book 2 from Wild Love duet. This one was easy to read and very enjoyable. Storyline and characters flowed nicely with mild drama, great banter, and plenty of passion. Overall, a good love story that you don’t want to miss.

I absolutely loved this series. Angsty, forbidden, sweet and sexy. What more could you ask for?
Oh yes, add that it’s a famous rock god type of story (probably one of the best i’ve read from this trope) with amazingly written characters and a HEA. I'm sold.
Without a doubt this was a 5 star rating for me 🌟

IF I DON’T GET TO READ THIS RIGHT NOW I WILL PERSONALLY GO AND HUNT THIS AUTHOR IN HER SLEEP UNTIL SHE FINISHES WRITING IT. I’m afraid to look at the publishing date. If it’s not out i’m gonna cry in a puddle on the floor.

they are on the road with the band and she is taking care of his daughter. They grow closer and he wants her daughter protected at all times. She is wanting to make sure that she is doing what she is asked of but when it happens he is so upset. I loved the way he tried to protect his daughter and treated her the same as a normal child and he doesnt want her to be in the eye of the public and made fun of or criticized due to her disordered.

Hate to love him is the perfect ending of the story that stared in Love to hate her. Author J. Saman has written a story so engrossing I couldn't put down. Viola and Jasper and the beautiful Adalyn are back and goodness did I miss them.

Get ready to forgo the rollercoaster and have an out of body experience as you jump into the crazy lives of rockstars with betrayal, hurt, rumors, romance and Jasper...

I'm sure my heart skipped a few misbeats. At one point, I was scared to read because I wasn't sure how they would handle it.

But the shine to this story is Adalyn, her love for her dad and nanny screams through louder than a crowd of 30,000 screaming fans. Jasper finally realizes all along what the secret to keeping the girl is...like I'm going to spill it.

J. got into my head and knew exactly what I want in a rock star romance. The drama is high, the se* was intense, the background characters are so important to the leads and a man who will knock your rockstar fantasy back to the stone ages because he brings it!!! I received an ARC for an honest and voluntarily review.

I fell in love with Viola and Jasper in Love To Hate Her and I’ve been counting down the days until I could get my hands on the concluding part of their story. I didn’t put this book down once, I so badly needed to know how their story was going to end. And I was desperate for more of Miss Adalyn. That little girl owns my heart.

We already know that Viola and Jasper share a complicated past and present, they’ve got things they need to work out. Been on tour with the band (and Gus) isn’t making things any easier for them, Jasper is blowing hot and cold as usual and now there’s another threat to their already rocky relationship which could force Jasper to choose to walk away from Viola for good. Throw in the intense appetite the press and public have for any snippet into Jaspers personal life and the upheaval of taking a three year old on tour and well, there’s a lot going on and a lot for Viola and Jasper to process and deal with.

Viola is as close to perfect as you can get and I don’t say this about female characters. Ever. I am all for the men in my books but Viola won me over from the very beginning. She’s still the kind, chilled out and calm woman she was at the start. She’s so loving and protective when it comes to Adalyn and she’s got no problem assuming the mummy bear role when she needs to which only made me like her more. I honestly just loved everything about her character and general attitude. She balances out Jasper, she calms him and brings him the peace he needs. Jasper frustrated me at times. I adored him, i could relate to him, I understood his thoughts when it comes to Adalyn and her wellbeing and I understood his reluctance and his reasoning for his hot and cold behaviour but that’s not to say I didn’t get frustrated with him for not getting his head together quicker than he did. He did make me want to shake some sense into him...followed by a cuddle and a grope. What can I say? The man is beyond hot and sexy.

Ms Saman sure can write a story. She adds these what seem to be insignificant details but they all help to form the bigger picture. I am so in love with little Adalyn. This author has brought this little girl to life. I mentioned in my last review how blown away I was with her understanding of autism and this book had me feeling the same. She gets the struggles that parents of kids with special needs go through, the stares, the judgement, how it makes you feel as a parent/carer and she expressed that perfectly through Jasper and Viola.

I can’t recommend this duet enough. I’ve fallen in love with the characters in these books, not just Viola, Jasper and of course Miss Adalyn but the other band members aswell. Most surprising to me was how much my feelings for Gus changed throughout the books. I’m really hoping we get his story. If you’re looking for a story that’s got a slow burning romance that’s filled with chemistry and angst pick these books up! You won’t regret it.

I absolutely loved this story. Jasper and Viola make the most adorable couple. I had a lot to say about Jasper's daughter, Ady, in my review of part 1, but this conclusion of the story focused much more on Jasper and Viola specifically. While Ady is still a very important character, I felt like Saman helped bring the focus into the heart breaking relationship of our main characters.

We also get our answers on who is betraying them and giving them up to the tabloids. While I wasn't surprised at who was behind it all, I had honestly expected a much bigger *Kaboom* on the reveal. So I was slightly disappointed at how it just kind of unraveled without a big explosion.

But it connected the beginning to the end and helped the story move to its conclusion in a way that was beneficial to the characters and the story. All around I was extremely happy with this story and how everything played out.

My favorite supporting character being Marco, the band's manager, who is a fiery gay man that becomes Viola supporting best friend and is there to feed her the reality she needs through out her entire ordeal.

Saman is an amazing writer that brings you right into the detailed lives of her characters and invest you into them without any regard for how bad it hurts on the way through. I was near tears so many times through their pain, that I felt it in my heart. You'll be shaken, you'll be torn apart and then you'll be happily put back together.

Hate to Love Him is the conclusion of the Wild Minds Duet, so yeah, YOU MUST READ Love to Hate Her First! Now that I got that out of my system, I'll get on with the cryptic, yet highly emotional, review. Now, I was extremely crazy while reading Book 1, but it was seriously cake a walk compared to this part for real! I swear I had to remind myself to breathe as all the chaos was leveled up with so much intensity, and I'm not sure that I'll ever be the same. J. Saman totally tried to kill me, and I couldn't look away as emotional gut punch after emotional gut punch came for me throughout. Then, there were the f-bomb worthy twists, and that's all that I'll say about that. It's beautifully written with serious topics which were done realistically, and I honestly had some eye leakage happening. There is so much goodness with Jasper/Viola & his precious tiny human that I want everyone to experience it for themselves! Finally, the drama is turned up because Jasper is in the spotlight while being a single father so how does it all pan out?! You'll have to hit your one click buttons to find out! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

Working for a man that seems to hate having her around is not an ideal job for Viola, but with nothing else available she is choosing to try and make the best of the situation. From the moment they were reunited Jasper immediately got under her skin, quickly pushing her buttons, and making her heart skip a beat. He acts like he can't stand her one moment, then acts like he wants her the next, it's so confusing and so not worth the heartache. He is everything she wants and can't have... or can she?

Hate to Love Him reunites us with once best friends, now somewhat rivals, Viola and Jasper, and puts us right back in the middle of their love/hate relationship. These two are perfect for one another, but they have a lot standing in their way. Jasper is so afraid of letting her in again and then coming up second place to his brother, His fear and love for her has him constantly running hot and cold, which then elicits this push and pull between them that will have you dying in anticipation...these two darn near wrecked me!! I loved my little reunion with these two, their story had many moments that made me smile and blush, and emotional moments that squeezed my heart in all the right places too. If you like love stories heavy on steam, mildly angsty, and rich with emotion then I have no doubt you will love what you find between the pages of this one... it has all of that and more! Highly recommend!

I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.

This conclusion to the duet had me on a wild ride. The first book ended with my mouth wide open and this starts out with so much more I had a hard time putting it down. I received an ARC copy along with the paperback and I read them both because I had to relive Viola and Jasper again. No, this isn't an autism book but the way it's described and how Adalyn is handled gives you the sense that the writer knows what she is talking about. It's beautiful. Jasper and Viola have other obstacles to get through here and I love the way they handle it. There are twists and turns you won't see coming and the whole story ends perfectly.

Oh my god, I CANNOT with how beautiful this duet was. Do yourself a favor and read this entire series.

Of course these stories have drama and angst, but that is easily eclipsed by love, loyalty, and lightness. It was heartfelt and the best kind of steamy, and never felt rushed or forced. The h, H, and entire gang of supporting characters (with a strong emphasis on Ady — the beautiful, angel child) are perfection.

One of those books you hate to finish but can’t put down. Great angst filled love story. Gus has loved and lost Viola years ago. Jasper loved Viola since he first saw her. Adalyn is so adorable and central to this love story. Great peak at the behind the scenes aspect of a wildly popular band on a big tour. The road to HEA is rocky and full of obstacles and betrayal. I think I spent the last half of this book crying happy, sad and aww that’s so beautiful tears. Well written series and I look forward to Gus finding a woman to love.

Part two of Jasper and Viola's story. This was beautiful, aggrivating, heartbreaking, hot and steamy. I was craving this book to find out what happens. The Love between these two is so strong but both having fear was aggravating because all they needed to do was talk. When they get together the chemistry between these two are explosive and hot. Heartbreaking because how much can one person take when it seems everyone you love is out to get you. I loved these two story. Loved the characters especially Jasper and how loving and attentive he is with his daughter. Plus that epilogue had me in tears. Can't wait for Gus's story

Jasper and Viola are back in the second part of their duet, Hate to Love Him.  At the end of one, Vi has opened her heart to Jasper and he hasn't returned her emotions, so she is determined to ignore him and pour all her attention to Ady.  Jasper is a conflicted man, not only because of his feelings for Vi but from scars of his past that won't allow him to take for himself.

I anxiously waited for this book because I was dying to see how J. Saman was going to give Jasper and Vi their HEA or was things going to go in a different way.  I was not at all disappointed as I read Hate to Love Him.  Saman took her leads and put them through an emotional wringer before giving them relief and from the most unexpected place.   The pacing between the relationship, the suspense with who was selling Vi out, and the adorableness that is Ady is perfect, allowing for a page-turning read.

A great ending (and hints at more to come for the rest of the band, I hope) for Jasper and Vi and Ady.

Oh, Jasper.
Why you gotta make things so complicated?
Well, it’s complicated to begin with. Viola is his twin brothers’ ex, who he’s always had a jones for (he wrote the bands first album about her). But he knocked up a fling and is a baby daddy to a special needs girl, who Viola is nannying while the band is on tour.
Ok, book two, we pick up right where we left off but there’s angst and drama and all the feels.
It’s a rock n roll roller coaster.
Recommend.

Wow - I couldn't wait for this and it did not disappoint!!! My heart has been put through a ringer and now feeling joy. The twists, turns, drama, trying to catch my breath and wanting to throw the kindle - I'm not sure how I survived. There is so much to learn in this book! Jasper's love for his daughter and Viola and their love for each other is beautiful. I did not want to ever see the last page. These characters now hold a very special place in my heart.
