Here is a Top 10 list from Ann about her likes, dislikes, and oddities:
1. I despise whipped cream. There, I admitted it in writing. Let the ridiculing begin. 2. Even though I have lived as far south as Key Largo, Florida and as far north as Maine, I landed in the middle. 3. If I don't make a conscious effort not to, I will drink nothing but tea morning, noon and night. Hot tea, sweet tea, green tea––I love it all. 4. There doesn't seem to be much in life that is better than coming home to a couple of big dogs who are overjoyed to see me. My other family members usually show significantly less enthusiasm about my return. 5. Singing in my bestest, loudest voice does not make my family put on their happy faces. This includes the big, loving dogs referenced above. 6. Yes, I am aware that bestest is not a word. 7. Dorothy was right. There's no place like home. 8. All of the numerous bottles in my shower must be lined up with their labels facing out. It makes me feel a little like Julia Roberts' mean husband from the movie 'Sleeping with the Enemy,' but I can't seem to control this particular quirk. 9. I love, love, love finding a great bargain. 10. Did I mention that I hate whipped cream? It makes my stomach churn to look at it, touch it, smell it, or even think about it. Great––now I'm thinking about it. Ick!

4.5 stars - The start of this story is crazy and heart-stopping! Molly has taken possession of an abandoned infant only to find herself in the crosshairs of a car that's barreling down the road and unable to safely stop due to icy road conditions. From there... well, it's up, down, and turned around!
I like how things progressed for Molly, Grant, and Scout. They hit some bumps, mostly in the form of Eva, but the journey was realistic and inspiring.
WARNING: tissues will be needed! Oh, and be sure to buckle your safety belts because the conclusion of that epilogue will send you reeling!
I enjoyed this as part of the Brunswick Bay Harbor Gems, bks 4-6 collection.
UPDATED 6/2021:
I added audio 🎧 to the experience and loved revisiting Brunswick Bay Harbor. The narrator was none other than Ann Omasta, the author. Most of the time she seemed comfortable behind the mic. There were several stilted moments where she seemed overly focused on enunciation that lent a choppy feel to the audio. On the whole, it was an enjoyable listening experience.
Now, for my most common... desire. A male narrator to go opposite Ann would have been ideal. There. I said it. 😊
In Ann Omasta's latest novella in her Brunswick Bay Harbor Gems series, she features Molly. To date, each book has been written as a standalone novel with characters making appearances in each book.
Shocking Sapphires is well-paced. There is a perfect amount of angst and tension without it feeling overdone. The characters are fully developed, and presented in a way that you just can't help but root for them. I loved how easy it was to hate the antagonist, Eva.
This feel good story is not only a small-town romance, but also a story that meaningfully highlights the struggle of living with a disability. While there is a glimmer of a HEA, the story does end with a cliffhanger, so stay tuned for the next book in author Ann Omasta's Brunswick Bay Harbor Gems series to find out if Grant and Molly get the happy family they desire.

Molly and Grant are a unlikely match and to be honest I had no idea where the story was going to go to begin with, but I was pulled in very quickly and was soon lost in the story needing to know what would happen next. You really feel Grants struggles with what happens to him and can see how people can hoodwink him while he is vulnerable in the beginning and Molly ugh that girl has the worst luck and you really really hope this time will be her time. Communication and trust is a massive biggie in this book and then the ending...... oh my geezies did I swear when I got to the end!!!
What an engaging lovely story! An abandoned baby in picturesque Maine brings out Molly’s protective mothering instincts who shortly after setting off with the baby, gets hit by a speeding car. The driver is none other than a famous film star who suffers life-changing injuries. In the hospital, Molly learns that the baby is Grant’s. Over time, they develop a friendship, reluctantly at first but Grant learns to depend and rely on Molly not only to look after his baby son but is beginning to see the ‘’girl next door type’’ woman in a different light. Molly is gradually making him see what he still has in his life, rather than just focusing on what he had lost. There are well-spaced tension points in the book, with good character development and description, along with very good use of language and editorial competence. There are calamities, misunderstandings, heartache, the emergence of a character in the form of Eva, a Hollywood star who thinks that she could add depth to her personality by seemingly standing by Grant and with a flick of her finger gets rid of Molly. The hurt in both Molly and Grant who both were victims of Eva’s manipulations along with the plot to bring the lovers back together was very well handled by the author. Not only do we get a HEA, but the book raises important issues about disabled people and the lack of adequate access facilities for them, giving this novel a superb feel-good factor, that I can only recommend. Despite the HEA, the book ends on a cliff-hanger, because of an impending custody battle with the baby's mother. You need to read the next book to get a resolution to the live's of our protagonists.

In this next installment of the Brunswick Bay Harbor Gems series, the reader gets to find out what is in store for Max's sister, Molly. I would suggest reading the first four books just because of repeating characters and extended story lines. Molly sees everyone around her paired up and she feels like a lone wolf. Then one night her brother discovers a baby left in the fire dept.'s safe haven box and Molly volunteers to care for it. As she and the baby are walking towards her vehicle a speeding car comes out of nowhere, skids and bumps into them. Everyone is taken to the hospital separately which Molly hates being separated from the baby. After seeing that the baby is where it needs to be, Molly returns to her ER cubicle but runs into the driver of the vehicle being rushed to surgery. The driver turns out to be a famous movie star and when his eyes meet Molly's he charges her with taking care of his son. Molly soon becomes completely embroiled in Grant and Scout's lives. In fact, she is a big reason why Grant works so hard to recover from his accident. But what happens when Grant's Hollywood girlfriend, the paparazzi and Hollywood find him and invade Brunswick Bay Harbor? Read the book and be ready to want to read the next installment also. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
In this fifth book of the Brunswick Bay Harbor series, movie star Grant was in a horrible car accident swerving to miss hitting Molly who was carrying an abandoned baby across the icy road. In an instant, their lives would be forever altered. Ann Omasta wrote this book with so much emotion: shock, surprise, anger, despair, acceptance, joy and love. It's never easy to write a story that deals with a handicap and it's never easy to use the right words. As a retired special education teacher, I was totally immersed in Grant, Molly and Scout's story and I cannot praise this author enough for the respectful way in which she told their story. It was so easy for me, as a reader, to feel connected to them and their changing emotions throughout the book. Ann also did a good job connecting the former characters from the previous books for newcomer Grant to understand how small towns work and thrive. There is a HEA, but there's also another cliffhanger... I loved this book and heartily recommend this entire series!
When Molly's brother Max walked towards her with a baby in his arms and said that it had been left at the fire station something inside Molly flipped and she felt protective towards the baby and that was strange as she has never been a baby person so she decided to look after him until they found out what had happened. Grant is a movie star and he had gone to check out the town that his next movie was being filmed in only to get in a major car accident that has changed his life in more than one way. There are so many twists and turns that you have to keep turning the page's to see what will happen next. Will Molly and Grant get a happy ending or are there lives to different to make it work. Omg i love this book and series so much and i can not wait to read the next book as they are really addictive and what an ending. Ann Omasta is an amazing author and writer and i have read all her books and i have never been disappointed and i recommend that you read this book, series and other books by her as they are really worth reading.

It was quite a long wait for the next book of this series but absolutely worth the wait!
If you're familiar with this series you already know who Molly is, the sister of Max, best friend to Dani and ex-girlfriend to Dean. Now it's Molly's turn to find the meaning of life and she finds it when her brother walks towards her with a baby in his arms. A baby boy who has been left at the Firestation and Molly wants to take care of him until a foster family can be found. But nothing goes as planned because a car is racing at her and the baby on an ice street.. she shields the baby and gets away quite okay but the driver is a famous movie star and things aren't looking good for him.
Without spoiling I can only let you know that Molly will soon find out who's the father of the baby and you will get sucked into a fantastic story but I don't like cliffhanger endings 😉
I received an advanced readers copy of this ebook in exchange for my honest review.
After Max Malone entrusts a baby to Molly's care until Social Services re-open in their small town, Molly is nearly run over by a speeding car. The car crashes into a store-front causing the driver to be hospitalized and paralyzed. In the meantime, Molly is caring for the infant boy and growing attached. As Grant regains consciousness, Molly realizes it's Grant's baby.
Molly, who has idolized Grant the movie star is now dealing with Grant, the injured, depressed man...... but as feelings grow between the two, enter Grant's long time girlfriend to throw a monkey wrench into things.
There is a lot of angst in this story, lots of heart-melting moments, and good character building. There is a happy sort of ending for Grant and Molly, but then a situation develops...... to draw you into the next book in the series. And dang if I am not pulled in and can't wait to read the next part of the story.

A delightful, and cozy love story. i liked the way this story flowed Every thing that happened seemed to flow from what happened before. It all started with a traffic accident in which a couple of people and an infant were injured. Scout's father was a well known actor and he was quite badly injured. His son, Scout, was not injured because his body was shielded by a woman who just happened to be involved there. Things grew from there to become a fantastic love story. This lovely story is fast paced and highly emotional, making for a satisfying read for sure. I loved the story and I am sure I will read it again. So far, in reading several books by this author, she never disappoints. Her books are light and carefree love stories that impel the reader on a voyage towards true love.
Another fantastic book to the Brunswick Bay Harbor Gems series. This is Molly and Grant's story. The author does a great job developing their story and pulled me in with all the twists and turns along the way. She brings past characters with continued story lines and describes them all in detail. I loved watching their relationship grow as the story unfolds. There's tons of emotions in this heartwarming romance. I was hooked from start to finish reading and left with questions with the custody battle. I loved this book/series!
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
Shocking Sapphires by Ann Omasta. Chance encounters or twists of fate…either way this story will leave you feeling hopelessly in love with this story, these characters, and this charming town. The book is a good contemporary romance that I found very entertaining. The chemistry between the main characters is perfect. I found this story to be very enjoyable and steamy; a good mix of drama, passion and strong characters and of course HEA. This story is well written with plenty of twists and turns. Molly is a single woman who takes on an abandon baby. While walking with the baby, she is hit by a car driven by Grant, the baby's daddy. He has injuries that change his life. Molly helps him in ways that show him he is lucky. They start to see each other in a different light. But there is trouble on the horizon for this couple. Will they find their way back to each other or go in different directions?

Shockingly Sapphires is the next book in The Brunswick Bay Harbor series by Ann Omasta. This small town of Brunswick Bay Harbor has had suspenseful and intriguing things happen but when a baby is abandoned Molly Malone volunteers to take of the baby then a major film star Grant Chandler has a horrible crash avoiding Molly and the baby. This story is truly heartwarming and emotional as Chandler comes to terms with his life after the accident and being a father and then Molly finding what she really finds wha she wants out of life. This is truly an romantic story and I highly recommend reading this book. I received this book as an arc for an honest review of it.
Emotional! Molly, Brunswick Bay Harbor, a baby left in her brother’s fire department, almost getting hit by a speeding car in snowy conditions, and the driver suffering life-altering injuries. Any one of these elements would make for a really good read; however, Ms. Omasta skillfully weaves them all together into a story you won’t be able to stop reading until the very last marvelous word. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
This is the story of Molly and Grant. Molly has just picked up the baby that was left at the fire station to take care of it until things can get sorted out. She is on her way home and is almost hit by Grant, a celebrity who is speeding through town. He swerves and is badly injured. Can these circumstances have a happy ending for these three? I enjoyed this sweet romance. I received an arc of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is a brilliant read. Wonderful well written plot and story line that had me engaged from the start. Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believeable. Great drama and romance with wonderful world building. Can't wait to read what the author brings out next. Recommend reading.
I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.
A foundling baby, a speeding car and a handsome movie star will change Molly's life forever in this sweet Brunswick Bay Harbour romance that makes some important statements about life in an accessible world. Great characters including a Hollywood diva you'll love to hate, a strong yet vulnerable hero and all the small time Maine charm we've come to expect from this series. Ann Omasta comes through again.
Grant and Molly were an interesting couple. At first I didn’t like Grant at all, but I did feel sorry for him. Molly seemed lost and needy. They did grow on me, as the story unfolded. My favorite part is the Converse sneakers. I didn’t like that this ended on a cliffhanger. That being said, I am interested in reading the next book in this series. I would recommend this book.

Wheel Of Fortune And Love: By Korkoi - Reading the Brunswick Bay Harbor series so far, has been like going on a round the world holiday, that you don’t want to end. Each book is an adventure on its own and Grant and Molly’s story didn’t disappoint, with the drama, misunderstandings, bitchiness, insecurities and a wonderful moment of self-actualisation. To truly appreciate this wonderful story, I suggest you relax on your couch, with a glass of wine or mug of hot chocolate and let the story captivate you.
I received an ARC of this book from Booksprout and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is a very good continuation of the series. You don't have to read the others but they are so much better when you know the whole story. This was a really good romance with a little mystery with the promise of even more in the next book. Loved Grant and Molly and Scout and can't wait to find out what is in store for them. A lovely read! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Another excellent read in the next book in the Brunswick Bay Harbor Gems series. It was wonderful returning to the small town of Brunswick Bay Harbor, and we see some of our favorite characters from previous books. A horrific crash, a abandoned baby all lead to a heartwarming and emotional read. I would certainly recommend this book to others. I received an ARC of the ebook, and am under no obligation to leave a good review. All opinions expressed here are my own.
She thought she was destined to be single forever but fate has other ideas. Finding an abandon baby at the fire station she takes the baby home but as she walking on the slippery roads she encounters a famous celebrity speeding down the street.
The two will collide as they will end up working together. But what will happen when reality sets in as they realize they are from two different worlds? Will they be able to make it?
A single woman, an abandoned baby, and a movie star, can circumstances spell happily ever after for them? Or will they leave each other in tears? A wonderful story about grabbing the good in front of you!

This book is the fifth book in the Brunswick Bay Harbor Gems Book Series. I have not read the books before this one. I have not read much romance this year. With the crazy events this year my reading had swung to thrillers and mysteries. I saw this one though in a Goodreads Giveaway and the synopsis intrigued me. I don’t think I noticed it was five books into the series. I’m glad I didn’t. I enjoyed reading this book. I didn’t even fully realize that I missed out on some prior events until about halfway through. I missed something major. Did it lessen my enjoyment of this book? No. It did intrigue me into wanting to start at the beginning but I was able to read this book, invest in the characters and thoroughly enjoy reading it. I knew the general idea of what I missed. The author did one of the trickiest things you can do with a series. She wrote a book that was dependent on the books prior to it, gave it only the necessary information from prior books and made it stand alone for the majority of the book. I do not have to read prior books to understand this one. I do need to read the next one though as this does end on a huge cliffhanger. This book opens with Molly narrating. She is with her friend Dani when her brother, Max, enters the scene carrying a baby. The baby turns out to have been abandoned at the fire station. Molly is holding him when an accident occurs. Grant is the second voice we hear from. He is an actor, (for me, I was calling in Johnny Depp. You can put in whatever actor floats your boat.), the driver of the car involved in the accident and the father. This made for the perfect book for me to escape into. No one, who knows me, would have called that. I mean I’m the girl who calls zombie books her favorites, (if backed into a corner and forced to choose one genre), I am not usually thrilled with multiple narrators, I hate cliffhangers and it’s the fifth book in after a major event that I didn’t read. I should be intensely ambivalent, at best, yet I love this book so much. I really liked Molly, Grant and Scout. I wanted them to be together. I disliked Grant’s actress love interest from the moment she took over. It was an amazing escape, (I did have a couple of starts before I settled in). Once I settled in I devoured the book. I quickly became invested in the characters. I loved the plot. I enjoyed it so much that I didn’t even get mad at the cliffhanger. (I usually will put off reading books with cliffhangers until the series is close to completion. I call that, “Game of Thrones stress syndrome,” as it is the stress where we wait forever for the next book. It has made me very wary of books that hinge on the books surrounding it.) My bottom line on this book is a recommendation to read it. I would say definitely read the books in order but you don’t have to, (you will have to get book six, so plan for that). I’m going back to the books before this. I want to know about what happened with Claire, Dani and Molly. Read this one because it’s great for escaping reality. We all have that actor crush. Go enjoy the story. Better yet, enjoy the series! *Editing it to say, I was a lucky winner in the Goodreads Giveaway! Thank you to Goodreads, and the author. A review was not required. I voluntarily reviewed this book and the review is based upon my reading experience.*
💕Romance blossoms for baby Scout's biggest fans👶; is three a crowd?
The start to this story is thrilling and I thought the first half of the book was the best part with Molly Malone, the good small-town girl, putting up with a lot of obstacles and rejection while her adoration of little abandoned Scout shines through. Grant, the male lead movie star with a dramatic turn in his life, is a part of the conspiracy against her, though usually unwittingly. I like my romances with a bit of angst and tribulation and in large Shocking Sapphires fit the bill. A cute child as part of the main cast of characters doesn't hurt either!
The latter part of the novel, prior to the suspenseful end, was pretty sweet and largely angst-free, with just a touch of passion. This series celebrates the relationships that form and last in a small-town environment. The main characters from the previous romances in the series return, but they are not too intrusive in Grant and Molly's story. And although there are occasional references to the events in other books in the series this story stands well on its own until the dramatic ending which definitely leaves the reading hanging.
I, personally, am not a big fan of the use of cliffhanger endings, but I like this series so I will most likely be coming back for the next book. I just hope the wait for the next release is not too long so I don't forget what happened before the story abruptly cut off!
I did not get the connection between the book's title and the content. A random title that fits the series theme but is not clearly relevant to the story seems a bit wrong somehow. I hope Omasta strengthens the connection between title and plot for future works in the series.
I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.
🌠🌠ONE EXCITING WHIRLWIND🌠🌠 Blazing blizzard! Ann nailed this baby with 100% on point realism, delivering all heat, passion and stormy desire, bringing this baby to heel, exposing deep sentiment and nuance, wrapping this baby up sleek, shiny and tight. Banished lines and crushed boundaries, limitations are amplified and exploited, laying out all the fervent facts, feels and fiascos, shifting this baby into overdrive, kicking it into a tizzy with astonishing results. Shenanigans, escapades and havoc run amuck, clocking the taxing trials and pulse racing tribulations, noting the stunning twists and wicked turns, testing our characters in ways they could have never anticipated. Twixt, twined and combined, displaying the soaring ups and agonizing downs, impressive in it's simplicity and thrilling in it's depth, putting our characters through their paces, kicking this baby to a whole new level. The attraction and chemistry grows as each layer is peeled back exposing intense emotions, binding them to one another perfectly. The characters, interactions and charged atmosphere along with qualities and traits that add depth and diversity, blending into genuine charismatic personalities. The scenes are abundantly descriptive with colorful details that blend and flow, creating a majestic backdrop that's so rich and lively it feels like you can just reach out and touch it. Remarkable job Ann, thanks for sharing this little jewel with us.
I received a copy from BookSprout; this is my honest review. -This is not a series, it's a serials. Not the same at all. It leaves you with a major cliffhanger at the end, which also brings you to the next book. -This is the best book in all 5 books yet. -In the other books, I wasn't certain if I liked Molly or not. I thought she was a bit clingy with a high-pitched voice but other than that, I didn't really know her. Now that I've read her story, I like her very much. -She's the kind of girl any man would love indefinitely, like Grant did. -Even though Grant was terrible at first, it's very understandable by what's happening to him and Molly gets that too, which is why she's so patient with him. -You can see their relationship changing from strangers to respect, friendship, and then probably lust and love. -Both Molly and Grant are strong people, maybe except when they got side-tracked by Eva and Jemma (?), but all is well that ends well. I thought they had more fun together than the other couples in town. -I was a bit confused at the end since Grant told his bodyguards that Molly should have access to him; why didn't they tell the people around the barriers?
