Seduced in Salem

Rate this book
Book 2 of the Casters and Claws Series

Witch Cerise Bishop doesn't have time - or patience - for love. But when she’s saved by a hot alpha wolf, things change. When Axel barges into her home to warn her that she’s on a group witch hunters kill list, she doesn't believe him. Forget how sexy he looks or how much she'd like to see him naked, she doesn't need a savior.
Alpha wolf Axel Barrick wanted to crawl home to bed after a series of night shifts, not take a witch to a safehouse. But his sense of justice rules him and he goes to fetch Cerise. He's intent on saving her by bringing her to the pack lands. Too bad she’s the most hardheaded, beautiful and frustrating woman he's ever met who happens to be his mate.
On Axel's beautiful pack lands, Cerise has to face her past and learn to communicate with Axel. That doesn't mean fall into bed after every argument. Sex is easy. Love, now that's another story. But when Cerise is taken, all bets are off. Will Cerise's determination to save herself actually get her killed?

Book 2 in Seduced in Salem by Milly Taiden
Axel is Salem pack alpha and he takes one of the witches into protection but when he meets Cerise he know instantly there mates.
This book slightly repeats from previous book and links heavily with previous in series especially with start when Axel and Zane comes up with plan to protect the Bishop witch in Salem.
I’m really enjoying the werewolf and witches in Salem aspect of the series. Looking forward to more in series and reading about other Bishop family members

The second Casters and Claws takes place concurrently with the first book, just from a different perspective. The first book, Spellbound in Salem introduced the Bishop witches, the local werewolves, and the evil witch-hunting Order of Salem, which is out in force after the Bishops. In Seduced in Salem, earth witch Cerise Bishop is saved by alpha wolf Axel Barrick, nearly against her will (honestly, if a random guy showed up and told you a cult wanted to kill you, would you go with him?). Cerise ends up hiding with Axel and his pack, but the Order of Salem will stop and nothing to kill her.

So, the second book in the series really delves into the werewolf side of things, introducing alpha Axel and the pack structure and living situation. This is great world building and adds a lot of depth to the book. The different perspective is what enables this book to be different from its predecessor, even with essentially the same plot. I look forward to seeing what Taiden does with the other two books in the series.

This is a story of the past poisoning the future. In this fast paced tale we have Cerise an earth witch with trust issues. Axel is an alpha wolf shifter and an emergency room physician and a bunch of bigoted lunatics after Cerise and her family. Axel and Cerise are fire and ice. He knows she is his mate and she is determined not to let another man into her heart. This is a sexy fun romp with serious undertones that will both entertain you and get you to thinking.

Another entertaining book by Milly Taiden in the Casters and Claws series. Unfortunately I could not give it a five star due to the female lead character. She was mean, distrustful and downright cruel at times. It’s all explained in the end but...I just really did not like her.

These Bishop women are very independent and stubborn witches, good thing their mates are strong persistent wolves.. With all the caziness, finding mates was not even a consideration but fate waits for no witch or Wolf.. The order of Salem may be more of a threat then they originally perceived.. I think this series is going to get even more exciting as the order gets more desperate to get rid of the witches..

Seduced in Salem, you think it's about witches?? the second in the Caster and Claws series and Milly knows her witches and shifters.

Sass and sexy, hot and alpha and they go boom! Baby! little did they know it would a chemistry reaction when little miss witch donna needs anyone. Big alpha bossy man thinks exactly opposite, the hot witch needs a keeper.

Of course the bad makes an appearance and throws the alpha in a rage and race of time. very cool little story. The characters fun and full of life a bit of detail to help weave the story in with a bit of heat to have us fanning our face. Milly does it again. Enjoy

Good story

For someone that doesn't want a mean,it's was hard to when you want the man so much. Oh the drama and the sassy of the female character was something to read. But the love of a good alpha could change every thing.

Like this series

These are such cute stories. Love that they all are taking place at the same time. Putting a witch and wolf together is one of the best ideas Molly Taiden ever had.

This is an OK shifter/witch romance, but it seemed that the couple was more in lust than in love. I also found it very difficult to like Cerise. It gets 2.5 stars from me, rounded up to 3 stars.

Cerise was very hard to like. She wasn't as bad as her sister Raven in the first book, but I still didn't like her much. She was really rude to Axel for a lot of the story, but still thought he was hot. Then she had sex with him several times, when she still didn't want a real relationship. Since he had indicated he was interested in more than a fling, that was a rotten thing to do. Her attitude was supposedly because of her terrible ex -- but it was unfair to Axel. So I really didn't get why he was so quick to let her get away with her terrible behavior.

Axel was likable, but he did do/say some stupid things. His mistakes weren't bad enough to excuse Cerise's bad behavior, but they were pretty dumb. Cerise had good reason not to trust him at first, but she should have gotten over it much sooner than she did.

I really didn't believe that Cerise was in love with Axel, because she was rude to him for so much of the book. Then, all of a sudden, after they sleep together, she loves him? I just didn't buy it.

One other thing, and this is minor, but it is a pet peeve of mine. The characters on the book covers should look like the description of the characters in the books. Cerise is described as having red hair -- but the woman on the cover has brown hair. This may not be the author's fault, but it still bugs me.

My rating system is below.
1 star -- Hated it, or did not finish. I usually only give this rating if some of the content is truly objectionable to me, like if one of the main characters does something really awful, and gets away with it.
2 stars -- Didn't like it. This rating usually means that I thought the writing wasn't very good, the editing was terrible, I didn't like the characters, or it had other major flaws.
3 stars -- I liked it, but had some minor issues with it. This rating means that there were minor editing issues, the story needed more character development, it was just too unrealistic, or had some other fairly minor issue. The majority of books I read get this rating – I do not consider it a bad rating.
4 stars -- I liked it a lot. This is a high rating for me, and I rarely give a higher one.
5 stars -- I loved it, and will probably read it again. Very few books are good enough to get this rating from me. The ones that do are usually classics.

Seriously?

This series is a such a good concept. With some workshopping, it could've been great.

I liked the first book. The characters were sympathetic, the plot had some excitement--even if there were some boring sections and I didn't always agree with the book logic.

This one started off well, but by 70% had gone completely off the rails with me growling and yelling out loud like the book could hear me. Axel is very caveman in his attitudes, and Cerise has every right to disagree. Often, his thoughts and attitudes about women bother me. Cerise's psychology bothers me, too. It isn't quite right, like the author has designed a female character she doesn't understand. The characters are inconsistent and so unbelievable. I didn't actually like either of them.

Now, the plot. Axel starts off sleep deprived, then the author just forgets about that. It could explain some of his stupid behavior in the beginning, but he continues to be stupid after he gets rest.

The plan of splitting the victims could be a good one, but it is against protocol.and is never adequately explained to Cerise. She doesn't agree to it, so she is effectively kidnapped. It ends up feeling kind of icky.

Most of the book is Axel trying to get with Cerise. He does it badly. She fights him the whole time, and frankly, he deserves it. They have sex, but there's no feeling of intimacy behind it. He does a sweet, nice thing exactly twice, and the second time he's doing it to be manipulative.

The final conflict between the Order is Cerise is fine. I would've liked to see her do more to defend herself. She seemed so confident in the beginning.

3.5 stars

I highly recommend reading the 1st book before reading this one as it sets up the story with the Order of Salem a bit more, but time-line this story takes place the same time as that one.

Axel is burning himself out working as both an ER doctor and as pack alpha. All he really wants to do is take a few days off to relax. But a threat to the witches of Salem has him working to protect the last woman he ever thought he'd meet, his mate. Cerise wasn't expecting her day to start with a shifter showing up claiming to be there to rescue her or for bad guys to show up shooting at her. She definitely wasn't ready for her attraction to her rescuer.

Although I did think their relationship was really quick, it's based on mate sense (fated mates) so I'm willing to go along with it. I could also understand that Cerise had a bad relationship before, but when it was finally revealed exactly what had happened it seemed anti-climatic given the way she treated Axel. I could understand why she was reluctant to trust him, but she ran a bit too hot & cold with the way she treated him. Axel was a good characters, a bit uncertain in how to react to his mate, but he was trying and pretty open with how he felt towards her.

It will be interesting to see how things go with the cousins and the other pack in the rest of the series.

Enjoyable second book read through Kindle Unlimited.
Series about four related women, who are witches. Two sets of twins as cousins. Both sets of twins were born within minutes of each other.
When stupid anti witch hatred rears its ugly head in Salem once again, these four women are taken into protective custody by a local pack of wolf shifters, whether they want it or not.
Each couple get their own story but these stories are running concurrently so there is a little bit of overlap with book one timeline wise.
Cerise is the twin of Raven from book one and her mate is Axel, the Alpha of the pack mentioned in book.
I thought Raven was a tough headstrong woman. Cerise males her look soft.
Cerise is the one that puts the stupid into obstinant at the beginning of this book. She just wouldn’t listen to anything Axel tried to tell her.
Her behaviour happens because she had a bad relationship and was letting her ex, Billy the Fink, rule her future.
Luckily, she does slowly come round and softens when she spends time with the pack.
I wasn’t a fan of Cerise at first but I did lean towards liking her at the end, especially after her very honest apology.
Axel is the alpha of the local pack and isn’t looking for a mate at all but is quicker to come around to his life changing. If he can keep his stubborn headstrong mate alive.

Axel isn't just the Alpha of the pack, he's an ER doctor too. He is one tired shifter, he just wants his bed for a well earned rest. But before he manages to get there, his Beta calls on him for a life or death emergency. Witch-hunters are alive and well in Salem and they are after the Bishop family. Scattering what resources they have to protect the witches, Axel goes after Cerise.

Cerise is an absolute cynic. She was badly treated by the on eperson who should have been her staunchest supporter. So forgive her for not falling for the line thrown out by Axel. He's here to protect her, with a line almost from an Arnie movie -puhlease! But before she can rip into him bullets start flying and Cerise realises that there are people out to get her.

Axel is trying to deposit her safely on pack lands but this female is an absolute danger to herself. She won't listen to rules, she just wants her sister and cousins and to hell with the consequences. Axel and his wolf may think she is their mate, but she has no intention of going meekly along with his plans!

Fun, frantic and passionate! These witchy relatives are not going to go down the path of love easily.

Book 2 in the Casters and Claws series.
Mixed emotions her but let's just say enjoyment wins out.
The men in this series are Alpha's who are protective and bossy yet would do anything to keep their witches safe.
The Witches on the other hand (and this is coming from a woman) are just demanding, unbending control freaks who are not pleasant in the least.

Now with that said....when you get past that book 2 is similar to the first and we are dealing with twin sisters. I personally love a challenge and these witches were definitely that :)
The series is just what you would expect, based around the Salem Witch descendants and the Salem Wolf pack. Upon finding out there are witches hunters out for the women (we still have more to go with another set of twin cousins) the wolf packs each take one witch each to keep them separate to keep them safe. The wolfs just seem to find their mates in these very strong women. To be fair each woman has reasons for their behavior even if it means they're annoying to a fault. LOL!
This series is fun and even sexy at times. If you are looking for a bit of romance and read to entertain this series is it.

Cerise and Axel

Axel didn't think anything but a good long sleep would revive him. That is until he stood face to face with the woman he was sent to rescue from a killer team--the woman who just happened to be his mate.

Cerise has no intention of getting in a serious or any relationship--no matter how darn hot a guy he might be or even the alpha of the shifter wolf pack. Telling her she had to come with him didn't help matters.

Danger may have brought them together but what would keep them that way? She had been duped by a man/boy before and had no intention of letting it happen again. She was his mate and he wouldn't--couldn't let her go. Could he keep her safe while he persuaded her to stay? Especially since he seemed to kept his feet clean by sticking them in his mouth regularly.

Another good read by the author. Witches and shifters aren't supposed to be compatible yet the authors make their steamy relationships fun, testy, and show the strength of them both.

Seduction and witchery in Salem….
This is the story of wolf shifter Axel and the witch shifter that he is sent to rescue after they are advised there is going to be an attack on women believed to be witches, their lives are in danger and murder of beings with special powers could not be allowed.
Axel cannot believe thar this sassy and beautiful female facing off against him is his fared mate, his wolf is in heaven believing that they have found their happiness ever after, however Witch do not have this instant mate recognition.
As they deal with the dangers whilst Axel keeps her on their pack lands Cerise begins to have feelings for this very handsome and caring man and his pack who all open their homes and hearts to her, a relative stranger.
She has never known such kindness….

This is Book 2 in the Casters and Claws series. It can be read as a stand-alone book, but I highly recommend you read the first book so that you can get all the background story. Cerise has had a bad relationship before so she’s wary of men right now. I loved reading her story and seeing how strong she really was. She learns just how strong she is as she faces the danger of possibly dying. Then she also learns how to get along with Axel who’s there to keep her safe. This was so much fun watching these two together. It’s not a very long book but there’s a lot in it that will keep you reading until the end of the book. And try not to stay up late trying to finish it like I did. If you like paranormal books and exciting things happening, then I highly recommend this book to you. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book that I received from Booksprout.

This kind of felt like a copy of the first book.

I didn't really see a difference in personality between the two sisters.

Both had a terrible ex that made the scared of being loved by their mate.

Both were lashing out and being bitches "because they were scared".

Then kind of gave the same speech when confessing their love and how they realised they actually did love their mate.

Just the way they think and talked and acted. It was too similar. Felt like i was reading the same book with minor differences.

I don't know if I'm going to continue the series. Because i do like the story but I'm just not sure if i want to give book 3 a chance. It just feels too much like a copy paste type of series. But maybe book 3 is different. Maybe I'll enjoy Astra. Raven and her twin definitely pissed me off tho. Too many temper tantrums and not being reasonable. Grow up.

Sort but enjoyable.
I prefer this instalment to the first. Partly because I liked Cerise better than Raven. But maybe also because I kinda knew what to expect.
What I did miss is some kind of conclusion to all the questions we were left with at the end of Spellbound in Salem, however other than hearing Cerise and Axel's story not much new info was given about the situation or the mystery.
The book started very similarly, with similar hangup, similar romance MO- so at first, I thought this was going to be same same- but then Taiden did give this a different turn and I got into it.
Last totally random and unimportantly: I didn't dislike Axel, he was a bit too vanilla for my taste - not quite bland but also not I am still firmly in Zane camp.
The epilogue is a preview for Astra's story and I am totally reading it next.

Book two of the Casters and Claws series by Milly Taiden is here! In this book we meet Cerise Bishop, who is the twin sister of Raven from book one, and Axel, Alpha wolf of his pack. This story starts the same as the first but from the viewpoint of Cerise and Axel and, thus, another rescue mission ensues. Join us as Axel rescues Cerise from modern day witch hunters (who won’t give it a rest - seriously, dudes, that was over 300 hundred years ago!) and as Cerise struggles to understand what the hell is going on, fears for her sister, and fights against her attraction to Axel every step of the way. Woo! Hang in there Axel, she is your fated mate after all. Adventure, tension, sex, pew pew pew, Axel in a women’s robe, sex, “Let me call my sister”, sex, “No”, fights, marriage. *Mic drop*.

This is Axel and Cerise's story . Cerise is a witch who does not have time for love or all that it involves but oh boy when Axel shows up to warn her she is more interested is him naked then what he has to say ! Axel is one tired alpha but tries to help out a witch that is on a kill list . Man do sparks fly when these two get together ! Cerise is one sassy woman who has no problem giving sass to whomever she wants . While trying to face her own past while dealing with the danger stalking her and dealing with the hottie doctor alpha whom is hers . This one will have you so involved that you cannot put it down ! This is well written and recommended to all !

I love this world that Milly has created. Axel is a hot doctor / alpha of his pack and Cerise is an earth witch (twin to Raven). I love how they interact. I REALLY love how shifter’s inner beast always talks with the “human” and tells them that this person is their mate, theirs to keep. My heart broke a little at Cerise’s speech about mates and how she was a witch and he was a shifter and his rules don’t apply to her. I felt so bad for him. But, Milly always turns it around and gives us the perfect HEA.

This is the second book of 4 I believe in the Seduced in Salem series. This is twin Cerise and Axel who happens to be an ER doctor as well as an Alpha of a wolf shifter clan. These two are everything and more that I had hoped they would be after reading the first book. There was a lot of repeat info from the first book included in this book but it really had to be for folks who had not read book 1 to get the jest of the story line. The ending was great and it is the perfect way to lead up into book 3 and yes folks it does end on a cliff hanger BIG TIME. But luckily we know our author will not have us waiting to long for that book.

This is Cerise and Axel's book. Cerise is a earth witch who's life is being threatened. Axel is the lack alpha and it's on him to keep Cerise safe. Of course just showing up out of the blue demanding that she come with him for her own safety probably wasn't the way to go about it. Cerise is a strong, fiery, and independent woman not to mention a witch she can take care of herself. Axel knows immediately that this witch is his mate but convincing her, well that's a whole new ballgame. When the witch hunters make their move can Axel keep her safe? Can Cerise let herself trust again to find her happily ever?

Loved it! I love to read stories from Milly Taiden. This is the second book in the Caster & Claws series. This story is about Axel and Cerise. Cerise is a earth witch who's life is being threatened. Axel is the pack alpha, who is also trying to keep Cerise safe. Btu Cerise is a stubborn witch. Can Axel be able to protect her? This has it all from intrigue, action and of course steamy romance to keep you hook from beginning to end. I HIGHLY recommend reading ALL of Milly Taiden stories. I can't wait to read the next book in this series. Keep up the amazing job!!

I ordered the first four books in the series because I am a fan of Milly Taiden. I have to say I was very disappointed. I personally struggled to get through the first two books because I found both of the female characters to be totally abhorrent know-it-alls which in turn made the books completely predictable. I do not feel they were portrayed as intelligent because intelligent people listen when a situation is explained to them. That it needs to be explained over and over again with the same result is depressing. The premise of this series had me very excited and I expect that these characters just rub me the wrong way. Other people might enjoy their personalities.

Another enjoyable and entertaining read and a great addition to the series. Plenty of intrigue, action and of course steamy romance to keep you hook from beginning to end. What I also liked was witches and shifters aren't supposed to be compatible but I like how they balance each other out showing the strength of them both definitely made for a hilarious and fun read. Looking forward to seeing what else is in store for this series. Intense!

Celine had a very traumatic experience with here first relationship and never allowed herself to heal. Without the healing she never moved on and became emotionally caught in her own past. Axel is a strong-willed stubborn Alpha who doesn’t want a mate that’s sent to protect her when modern-day witch hunters came after her. These two have to learn to accept each other and their own misconceptions to become one team. I loved watching the sparks fly as they finally learn to work as a team. Definitely recommend reading.
