Little Penguin has found something. But he’s not sure what it could possibly be. Luckily, Little Penguins and his friends are on the case!
HELLO!
By the very first page, readers of this book can solve this mystery. Meanwhile, they can have so much fun watching the creative pictures and thinking about somebody who is soooooooooo much less advanced than they... this book will be done in a twinkling.
FIVE STARS for an approach that can make a four-year-old feel worldly wise.
An "I Can Read" Beginning 1 book, this has the same characters as the ones in "Little Penguin Gets the Hiccups" (which I'm not sure if I would have caught that if we hadn't read them back to back). The penguins discover a red bicycle and endeavor to figure out what it is, finally stumbling across it's use. They assume it's a boat or submarine because Little Penguin cycles it off of an iceberg and into the ocean before it sinks.
Penguin finds a bicycle, but he has no idea what it is. They use it as a back scratcher, a feather dryer, a mixer. Eventually penguin accidentally figures out how to actually use the bicycle. I like the artwork and the humor.
