Thirteen years before Emma Dumas bought me in a bachelor auction to teach me a lesson she stole my heart down on Key West. I fell so hard for this girl I made all the promises. Only with Emma, I really meant them.

And then I disappeared.

But it wasn’t my fault. Let’s just call my reason “Family Business”. I’d tell you what that business is, but then I’d have to kill you. Just kidding. I can’t tell you what my family business is because it’s so secret, even I don’t know.

My point is… I didn’t ghost. It was a weird twist of circumstances. And OK, yes. I did hook up with pretty much every girl on the island that week. But after I met Emma, I was ruined. She was the only one I wanted.

It’s been thirteen years. I’m a changed man.

I STILL want her. I have ALWAYS wanted her.

But it’s kind of hard to tell her that with a gag in my mouth and a hood over my head.

Bossy Brothers: Jesse features a bachelor auction gone wrong, four smart ladies who botch a crazy revenge kidnapping, a power dream date with fast cars, private jets, and expensive yachts, and a happily ever after that proves… sometimes the best man for the job is a woman.

J.A. Huss never wanted to be a writer and she still dreams of that elusive career as an astronaut. She originally went to school to become an equine veterinarian but soon figured out they keep horrible hours and decided to go to grad school instead. That Ph.D wasn’t all it was cracked up to be (and she really sucked at the whole scientist thing), so she dropped out and got a M.S. in forensic toxicology just to get the whole thing over with as soon as possible.

After graduation she got a job with the state of Colorado as their one and only hog farm inspector and spent her days wandering the Eastern Plains shooting the shit with farmers. After a few years of that, she got bored. And since she was a homeschool mom and actually does love science, she decided to write science textbooks and make online classes for other homeschool moms. She wrote more than two hundred of those workbooks and was the number one publisher at the online homeschool store many times, but eventually she covered every science topic she could think of and ran out of shit to say.

So in 2012 she decided to write fiction instead. That year she released her first three books and started a career that would make her a New York Times bestseller and land her on the USA Today Bestseller’s List eighteen times in the next three years. Her books have sold millions of copies all over the world, the audio version of her semi-autobiographical book, Eighteen, was nominated for a Voice Arts Award and an Audie award in 2016 and 2017 respectively, her audiobook Mr. Perfect was nominated for a Voice Arts Award in 2017, and her book, Taking Turns, was nominated for an Audie Award in 2018. Johnathan McClain is her first (and only) writing partner and even though they are worlds apart in just about every way imaginable, it works.

She lives on a ranch in Central Colorado with her family.

So entertaining!

Another hit out of the park for J.A. Huss. I will definitely be reading the rest of this series! I loved this book and I loved Jesse Boston! This one was especially hilarious because Jesse used to be a drunken playboy in his younger days. He was so bad that at one time down in Key West he got with four separate girls during one week and told them all the same story about how they were the one and how he would show them the world.

After never hearing from Jesse again, these four ended up at the same bar and compared stories about the man they were drowning their sorrows over only to find out they were all talking about the same guy. These four girls ended up starting a cosmetics company which became one of the five biggest cosmetics firms in the world. They became billionaires many times over and when a chance to get revenge on Jesse in a bachelor auction came up, they decided to take it.

Emma Dumas and her three friends decide to buy a date with Jesse in the bachelor auction then drug and kidnap him in a revenge plot to get back at him. Her friends have all gotten over Jesse in the intermittent thirteen years since their one night stands with him. But Emma was only Eighteen years old at the time and she had really fallen for Jesse. Emma never really got over him. She also finds out on the date that Jesse’s uncle died the day after they were together and he had to leave Key West. Also Emma learns he cleanest up and has changed his life around.

Of course the kidnapping doesn’t quite go as planned and Jesse tries to get back at Emma once he finds out what she is up to and from there it is hilarious, heartwarming, hot and steamy and also extremely mysterious and dark. I loved every minute of this book and I want to learn more about each one of the Boston Brothers and the Dumas brothers as well!

Is it possible to love and not like a book? Well that is how I feel...I LOVED parts of it and parts of it well...not so loved.

Emma is a wounded woman. While she is one of four owners of a billion dollar cosmetics company and has the world at her fingertips, she has been harboring anger towards a boy she met 13 years ago. A boy she felt an instant connection to. A boy who stole her heart. A boy who made her think soulmates were possible. A boy she wanted to spend forever with. This boy though.....he promised the same things to others. He broke the hearts of others. He left them flat too. Those others? Those are her 3 best friends and 3 other owners of her cosmetics company. How does this happen you ask? Well 13 years ago a young, hot, rich, smooth talking boy met them all at different times of the week and made promises to them all and after nursing broken hearts, these 3 compared stories and bonded over heartbreak.

The boy? Well, he doesnt remember these 4 women. He had his own issues 13 years ago and doesnt remember much of anything except being labeled as a playboy. A heartbreaker. A troubled young man involved in a fast crowd. Until now. Now he is trying to get his life together. He is trying to be a better man. But the cloud that is always over him and his brothers and their legacy is cloudier then ever.

Emma and her besties decide to make him pay for their heartache. They want justice for what he did to them. Now here is the part of the book, well one of the parts that just didnt do it for me. They hatch this "plan" to make him pay. Now, if these ladies were not billionaires, had their sh#t together and were not successful and not 13 YEARS later, I could see where a plan could be plausible. But it just felt wacky to me for these grown women to be lashing out all these years later. It's not like they were in a long term relationship with Jesse for got sakes!! They were flings! Some of them one night stands for crying out loud. So yeah, that part of the book annoyed me.

So there is this funny, witty love/hate relationship between Emma and Jesse. You see Jesse wasnt such a huge jerk back then. He really did like Emma and when they come face to face he feels like maybe this could be a 2nd chance for them. Ya know besides the drugging and kidnapping stuff (you will see). I loved watching these two try to out do each other and try to impress each other and their antics. I was laughing out loud more then once. I was really getting into their 2nd chance at love story and settling in. And then that was where I got lost again. The author uniquely weaves a side story into their love story. And folks, it is 110% confusing. I dont get it. I dont know why the book needed it. Maybe it will make sense in future books but for me, I felt like I was reading 2 books in 1. Now that doesnt mean that once this 2nd weird story starts to unfold, it may make sense but for right now it seems so awkward.

The 2nd story revolves around why Jesse disappeared 13 years ago. It involves cult like behavior from the rich and elite and I am keeping my fingers crossed that it plays out and makes sense. While the author may have written this storyline to intrigue us, It just left me confused. I know there is more to it but its a bit far fetched for me. Will have to see how this all unravels. I am also looking forward to reading about the other brothers and their stories.

This felt like two very different books to me and sadly, I didn't so much care for the first half. I had a really hard time with Emma and her dumbass friends. These "women" were ridiculous and stupid and for fucks sake, 12 years have gone by, get the fuck over it.
However, once we got to I'm not sure if the explanation I get is gonna live up to what I've got going in my head, but I am definitely going to read about these other boys. As far as romance, meh...we had a few good scenes, but I guess maybe because I didn't like Emma, I just didn't care that much, honestly much more interested in Zach and the bros.

I just Didn’t connect with Emma only read up to 40% of the book but just was struggling she roofied him and still kidnapped him after hearing what he had to say about his past . Yeah he slept around so what you had 1 night with him does that account to a relationship erm no , yeah you bonded with the other girls he slept with which one of them is such a hypocrite she is doing the same damm thing 2 dates different men on same night but still feel it’s right to get revenge on Jesse . I know it’s romance and fantasy but who in the right mind especially a man who has been kidnapped roofied and still wants to be in a relationship with the woman that did it .no I’m sorry this one isn’t for me it may be the story did get better I’m just not in the mood for this type of story but I couldn’t carry on reading .these are my feeling today may be One day I will go back and try again if it’s still on KU .

I cannot even believe I wasted my time, brain cells and ears in this ridiculous horrible story. Not sure why, but the editors blurb sounded good, but the reality....just gross, pathetic, illegal, unethical and off the charts idiotic. Not going near the rest of the series as this was just gross.

Forgot how much fun a JA Huss book is. 😉

I didn’t love Emma and her friends at first. However, once Emma and Jesse start “dating” it gets fun!

Of course we have some weird mystery to unravel over the next few books.

Going into the next one. 😊

I really enjoyed this one! It was my first read by this author and I've been totally missing out. This was a flirty and fun enemies to lovers read.

Revenges plans don't always go as planned. Sometimes you act before you really think it through - that's why you end up spending loads of money for a night with the guy who broke your heart 13 years ago. It backfired from the start and it was fun to watch Emma and her girl gang back pedal to try to save face.

I really liked Jesse aka Baby Boston. From the start, even though I probably should have hated him. I liked Emma as well. Together these two were oh so sexy! The push and pull, wanting to be the boss and in control was so good. Brought the story to life!

Emma and her best friends own a very successful beauty products business. They are wealthier than they could ever have imagined and live a life they used to only dream about. They are all attending a charity bachelor evening one night and once they learn who the ‘prizes’ will be they hatch a plan to seek revenge against Jesse Boston.

Jesse Boston is a player, well he was when they were all teenagers when over one summer they all fell for his smooth talking and sexy bedroom moves. Individually they had a moment with him and the last one was Emma. Emma was so into Jesse that summer and she truly fell for him, only to be left heartbroken when he simply disappeared.

The girls have been waiting years to get their revenge so winning him at the auction will guarantee them all a private audience with him. Poor Jesse has no idea what he is in for! Emma is feeling a bit conflicted about seeking revenge, she still harbours feelings for him but she has to do what they all agreed on.

After the revenge is dished out, Jesse insists on having his date with Emma. She was never just another notch in his belt. He remembers everything about that summer and he plans to show her just what she has been missing since he last saw her.

This is the first story in the Bossy Boys series and I listened to the audio version which was narrated by Ava Erickson & Teddy Hamilton.

This author has been on my TBR for awhile now. I am happy to have jumped in with this book. I knew from the blurb that this was going to be a fun ride. Jesse and Emma have a history. But 13 years later, there is still a bit of angst around their whole situation.

Comedy, sass, steamy chemistry, meddling friends and family and a superbly matched power couple. Great summer read! The other men in the Boston family intrigue me as well. I'm not sure where the story line will go. There is a bit of a mystery but at least in this book, the reader is left with more questions than answers.

I look forward to reading more and hopefully getting to see Jesse and Emma again.

OMG. OMFG. WTF? This ending man. LOL. This is the best book. This one seemed like it was going to be a little more light romcon but then there is some creepy weird stuff in the end which I can't reveal because obviously I don't want to spoil it. But it's one of those "JA Huss things" and it worked it's way in. I can't wait for the audio on the next book.

Entertaining

This was a nice surprise. When I read this was a kidnapping I did not expect the end result. This was quite funny at times, and not everyones humour, but I enjoyed it. (I am a big fan of this author, and she writes some weird stuff at times) and I get it.
I loved cocky Jesse, and Emma was just his match. She was great. ( hell have no fury like a woman scorned)
Jesse certainly comes from a strange family and I still do not know what they do exactly, but who cares, this sis about Jesse and Emma, and may the richest one win!
(Or both concede and enjoy the riches)

I had a ridiculous amount of fun reading this and I cannot wait for more Bossy Brothers!

Okay, so Jesse and Emma have history. History that Emma wants revenge over … Let the games begin!

I’m not gonna lie and tell you that some of this is a little far-fetched and OTT, because … shenanigans LOLOL However, I will say that it’s because of its OTT that this story is just plain fun! It worked. I personally found it to be a unique plot with eccentric twists. Both Jesse and Emma sparked off the pages in personality. Their banter had me eye-rolling and laughing thru most of this book. What can I say, sometimes OTT works and sometimes it doesn’t. This worked and I loved I enjoyed the heck out of it! Go forth and enjoy!

Well Well Well...buckle your seatbelt and get ready for another AWESOME RIDE Book 1 of 5 I think she said, so yeah... just Bring IT!!!

Such Awesome Characters in this series, she has led us up for an awesome tell of tales I just know its gonna be a complete classic Huss mindf*ck, it flows fast and you simply cannot put it down once you start, You can't, and in the end I wanted more of them both not that its a crazy ending just that I JUST WANT MORE lol! And you can tell she does this writing with such ease, she is a writing machine, within herself and am so very glad that she is, I love you Julie Huss and your beautiful mind, soul and every book you've written! And well...now I also I Love these two Jesse and Emma, they are both bad to the bone with no shame and I LOVE That.

Some fantastic Friends and Family characters built up already for what's more to come! I Love Emma's Mom" when she asks "Does she always Boss You Like that?" I swear I laughed so hard my husband thought I was crying for some strange reason but...hey its one ya just gotta read to know exactly why and well its called Bossy Brothers and its about Jesse and yes he can be Bossy no doubt but he hasn't stewed for 13 yrs on a lost love, now Emma, she is one spitfire and I LOVE Her Hard, Jesse too! In Jesse's words "Giant motherhucking Bull Size balls on this woman" and he is 100% right!! Oh and yeah and this one he said as well "You can't drive on the Tarmac!" Bahahahahaha you'll get my drift quick. This woman see she fell hard for this guy 13 yrs ago and she has this plan and well we all know how the best laid plans happen, especially in Huss world! Oh and Jesse he is a world known Gazillionaires bad boy son, the youngest. He has been the one that everyone knows as trouble. and that is exactly what he USE to be for sure, could've been his middle name. But he has changed, grown up yet he has barely left his home in 5 yrs well till that auction, yeah his brother Joey makes him take his spot in the Date Auction Charity. Yep then Jesse's quite world filled with pretty much nothingness after he had to stop the partying, all the dumb stuff and just been become A LOT Quickly. That's all Im say about all that because truly folks you just have to read this one, ya gotta!!!

Big Money, Very BIG Mystery with Craziness is all in the mix and that dinner thing...white dresses, yeah Julie I was thinking about a totally different story/series of the same company kind!

Believe me, folks this is an Amtrak Train you wanna jump onto quick cause its moving so fast its going blow our minds I just know it! I cannot wait to get to our other brothers stories...the stage is set to have serious doubts about his crazy family, the money and his oldest brother Ole Johnny but for some reason I was fearing someone else so we will see about all that!!

The first book is drawn in the sand so to speak, some sides have been drawn, (For sure Emma an Jesse) and decisions made and people are to be expected be in the Keys every First and Third F*cking Saturday for Dinner, that is for sure happening, the rest just leave it to Julie Huss, she is bound to have us tide up in knots then laughing, screaming, throwing kindles...just hope its one of those Kindle sales weeks or better yet maybe you better buy a spare because I think this one, this one is going to BLOW OUR Fricking Minds~~~

Thank you Julie for this masterfully written book, you are just nailing it on THEM ALL, Cont Romance, RomCom and Sci Fi!! Just knocking them outta the park and I just keep biting my nails waiting for the next one to fall on my kindle!!
I absolutely fell in Love and wanted to immediately re-read it and that doesn't happen often, I wasn't ready for it to be over because these people they will be all of "OURS" forever, I just know it!!!

Happy Reading, see ya after the next one!!

Oh that J.A. Huss. Her imagination is far beyond anything I can comprehend and boy, am I happy she shares it with us! With Bossy Brothers: JESSE, I began reading thinking it would be a great little rom-com about one woman's plan to exact revenge on the man who broke her heart 13 years prior. And at the start, that's what I got. But silly me, I should have figured that any book written by Ms. Huss will undoubtedly get a bit more involved and would ultimately put a bit of shock in me before it was all said and done. And this is precisely what happened.

Emma Dumas and Jesse Boston as teens, fell hard for each other in Key West. With Jesse's sudden ghosting of Emma and then as she would eventually find out, 3 other women who would eventually become her besties and business partners, these 4 women never forgot the hurt they suffered at the hands of the sexy beach bum. The plan for getting back at one Jesse Boston seemed simple, and it was. But what Emma never counted on was feeling those same butterflies or finally understanding just what happened all those years ago and falling once more for the baby Boston.

Emma and Jesse's banter is classic Huss all the way. Talk about giving as good as they get! These two have a constant battle of words that kept me furiously turning each page wondering just how far each would take the other in order to 'win' the latest battle of wills. Their weekend together is full of mayhem and discovery. And then just as fast, Huss changes course a bit and now this book became full of mystery and intrigue. The Boston family with all of their crazy becomes the new focus and I'm there scratching my head right along with Emma, Jesse, his cousin Zach and older brother Joey.

The push and pull from Emma and Jesse as these two billionaires hash out past feelings and then find themselves thrust into the middle of a wild family riddle is truly at the crux of this book. We're left hoping they make it but with all that is going on around them, it's anyone's guess what will happen next. And it just makes me want the next book in this series that much more.

Huss never disappoints and this bumpy adventure proves just how creative she truly is. I never saw most of this story evolving the way it did but am damn glad this story is far from over.

Bossy Brothers: JESSE is full of wonderful characters despite some of the darkness attached and I can't wait to get more of them in the next installment.

4 solid stars!

What starts as a incredibly fun, light-hearted romantic comedy eventually turns into a wickedly twisted mystery. The queen of conspiracy strikes again! Author J.A. Huss’ latest novel, Bossy Brothers: Jesse, is all kinds of fun.

This book was so easy to jump into. I was engaged with the characters from the start; no need to figure them out to warm up to them. Emma Dumas and her girl tribe are great! The girls met thirteen years ago and bonded over their spring-break one-night stands. These girls have each other’s backs no matter what the circumstance! Emma is the self-described normal/average one, but she comes off as anything but average. She’s pretty, smart, and bossy. However, her bossiness stems from self-preservation rather than a character flaw.

Jesse Boston, the billionaire who broke her heart thirteen years ago, is completely misunderstood. Yes, he played the rich party boy for much of his young adult life, but then he started flying under the radar…at least as much as his notoriety would allow. This good-looking guy with a great sense of humor and a sexy smirk cannot catch any breaks--especially in the public eye as he is commonly considered a spoiled, rich jerk.

While it is hard to imagine that a woman—let alone four women—could hang onto the hurt from an obvious spring break one-night stand, the plot premise was fun. I LOVED the chemistry between Emma and Jesse. The banter is charming and fun. Their attempts to one-up each other are ridiculous, which makes for over-the-top fun. I adored Emma’s family and the scene they were in.

Jesse’s family is a different ball game entirely. Readers are introduced to these characters, but their development is superficial (undoubtedly saved for future installments in this series). It is Jesse’s family that provides the twists and mystery. As Emma encounters the rest of the Boston family, readers are given a taste of the wild ride they’re in for throughout this series to its eventual denouement.

Jesse Boston has met his match in Emma Dumas, and it is certain that she can out boss that “bossy brother”. From sweet to sexy and comical to crazy conspiracy, Bossy Brothers: Jesse is a page-turner. It’s an incredibly engaging story that left me intrigued or laughing with each unexpected turn.

I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

This is my official review by the author but not my first read ever. I got drawn to this book by the blurb!!

This is a story of a boy and a girl, they were wild together, fell in love, were young and reckless together…until the only boy she ever loved LEFT HER! Fast forward to 13 years and by a kidnapping and impromptus auction incident(s), they meet again. But now they are older, more mature and both very successful. Jesse get’s reminded who Emma really is, the sassy, strong and beautiful girl now turned bombshell woman. Their chemistry is undeniable and insane, but neither will budge. That is followed by their banter, mystery, drama, danger and so much laughter and fun!!

This story is sexy and intriguing. The sex scenes are steamy and the plot was adequate. Just when I thought I had figured it out, BOOM – TWIST! Jesse is total BOOKBOYFRIEND material, even if I wanted to sort of kill him at certain parts (especially the beginning). Never underestimate a heroine that has had her heart broken and out for revenge!! One sitting read and I am intrigued enough for Jonathon’s and Joey’s story.

Hmmm.. I have feelings about this book.

The storyline wasn't bad. Not at all. The book wasn't written badly. At every page you were curious.

But the characters... I just couldn't.

I had to push myself to even get to fifty percent because of them. Jesse was still fine. A flat character but funny, charming and adorable. But Emma. Her.. I could not hack.

Her character I felt like wasn't developed at all. And the things she did for a businesswoman of the level she was, were unbelievable for me. I am talking about her pushing and pushing Jesse to only end up in her giving him in an ultimatum like when she wanted to see the floor below. What the fuck even was that. Like stop! Private matter. Woman, who even are you?

I get the idea of adding humour to the story. And it definitely was humorous but no... Just no!
I read that scene and I was like... Emma. Please grow up! I don't like you. Like... Not at all.

And that was just it for me. That is when I stopped.

I am still curious about how it would end. I still want to read Johnny's story because he is a character I was most fascinated by. So who knows..

Maybe I will finish it one day. Maybe I won't. But right now, I just can't!

Wow I absolutely love this story. We meet Jesse Boston and Emma Dumas. After a weekend to remember back when they were just young and dumb teenagers. Fast forward 13 years and after both of them becoming insanely rich either by family or hard work and an impromptu auction and kidnapping, have them meeting back up again.

The chemistry and back and forth banter between these two had me laughing my ass off. Jesse definitely met his match when it comes to sassy Emma. She is one pocket rocket and can definitely hold her own. This is a ‘who has it bigger and better’ game between the two of them until we are thrown the biggest twist that I would never have thought of. It threw this story on its head and gave it a super serious side. Brothers against brothers and old truths revealed.

This story gripped me and I read it in one sitting. Jesse is a solid book boyfriend and I just can’t wait get Jonathon’s and Joey’s story. Hell I even want to know Zach’s story

A 2nd chance romance with a revenge plot thrown in. This part was all good.

Emma and her 3 friends and business partners had all been subject to the attentions and subsequent dismissal of Jesse when they were teenagers and hatch a plot to get revenge 13 years later. Emma is the only one who developed real feelings.

Things go wrong with their revenge plot and Emma starts to get to know Jesse however this is when a strange confusing element hinting at assassins/cults/mafia type goings on are raised. I finished the book with no clue what this was meant to be about - obviously to get me to read the 2nd book.

The relationship between the 2 MCs was flirty and funny but I was left thinking what did I not understand.

BOSSY BROTHERS: Jesse by J. A. Huss.
Emma Dumas met Jesse Boston about 13 years ago, they felt a connection. Emma thought that they were soulmates and everything with that. But Emma learns that Jesse is a playboy and has said pretty much the same things to a few other women. Those women and Emma end up being great friends that go on to become very well off but neither forgot the hurt Jesse made them feel. In the current day they think to kidnap Jesse from a bachelor auction that his brother roped him into. But Emma starts to learn that he may not be that playboy of the past when he was younger.
Enjoyed this hot read.

Ah I’m so glad I decided to start reading this book (well I had my sister do a random pick and started reading because I’m indecisive and couldn’t chose one myself) it was a good one.

When it started it gave off major John Tucker must die vibes and damn that’s one of my favourite movies and have been wanting more storylines like that.

4 scorned women
1 man
1 plan to dish up some revenge.

They say to never mess with a woman scorned and Jesse is about to find out why. An Auction ends up with Jesse being in the company of an ex that he can’t remember and that ex planning a kidnap and revenge but will she be able to follow through with it?

Emma even after all these years still feels hurt and betrayed by Jesse, so when she hears about the auction and Jesse being involved she hatched up a plan but things aren’t what they seem with Jesse and she soon begins to realise.

Jesse was a troubled young lad, chasing after the ladies whilst constantly drunk and high. He’s made mistakes and after an incident he decides to clean himself up but little does he know that his past is about to catch up with him.

Watching this story unravel was so much fun. They had me laughing and fanning myself within seconds of each other. I absolutely adored watching them overcome everything.

Meeting her family was something else. They’re so wild and funny. His family are insane and intriguing and all I want to do is find out more about them so I can’t wait to get stuck into their stories

JA Huss did an amazing job with Jesse and Emma’s story, I can’t wait for more!

This book started out as a fun read but quickly developed into something more. JA Huss has a clever way of writing that had me smiling one moment, then had my mouth gaping and questions galore the next.

Emma and Jesse have a past that Emma remembers clearly, Jesse not so much. Jesse is one of three Boston brothers. In his youth, he was spoilt, rich and arrogant. Although he has cleaned up his act, Emma still remembers the old Jesse and is wary. Emma has grown to be a take-charge boss. She is no longer the sweet innocent girl of eighteen. Jesse is still rich, funny, sexy and a bit of a smart arse. He makes it hard for Emma to resist.

I love this pair and their competition of dominance. I had a smile permanently on my face during the first half of this book. The clever banter and one-upping each other made for a fun read.

The story developed into more than a dramatic comedy. The mystery and tension created as the plot evolved lead the way for future books in the series. This story isn't a cliff hanger as such, but it certainly left me with more questions than answers!

I want more of the Boston boys. I want more, well written and strong heroines to keep them on their toes and I want them all now!

The characters were interesting and the writing was decent, but the fatal flaw for me was the initial plan. They are going to spend a million dollars to buy the guy from a charity bachelor auction so they can kidnap him and tell him what a jerk he was. They then proceed to spend way over that just to tell the guy he's a rat? I mean, come on get real. However, in spite of that bit of silliness, the book was funny and entertaining. I would have given this book a higher rating based on entertainment value and writing, but the gratuitous spending of millions upon millions of dollars just to prove that a guy is a jerk is too far of a stretch. I have already downloaded the next book in the series so we'll see if it is entertaining as well.

I loved Emma and Jesse. To be honest I’m still a little confused about what’s happening with Johnny.

**I received a free copy of this book to read and review from the author.**

Jesse Boston and Emma Dumas met in Key West when they were teenagers. Jesse was a player and she wasn't the only one he had a one night stand with and left without a word. Emma teaming up with three other women who Jesse walked out on that same weekend, went and made something of themselves being the top multimillion dollar makeup developers. Jesse fell into family money. He was the youngest of the Boston brothers always finding himself on the cover of the tabloids for one reason or another. Emma has always kept taps on Jesse plotting revenge for leaving her the woman scorned.
What happens when they see each other thirteen years later? Can Emma follow through on her plan? Will Jesse even remember her?

I was into Jesse and Emma's story from the first page. Their chemistry is hot and of course in typical Huss form there is so much more to this story than you originally think. I cannot wait to see what happens with the Boston brothers!

I enjoyed this series opener. I liked strong bossy Emma. She took charge of her future and flipped the tables on Jessie, showing him what its like to sweep someone away and overwhelm them by throwing your money/lifestyle at them (like he had done numerous times to girls just to f*ck 'em and forget about 'em). She took her power back and put them on equal footing. Jessie was able to be himself and open up about the truth of his life and open his heart and mind to truly connect with Emma beyond the physical. Emma was able to see the real Jessie and how much of his life had been shaped by his screwed up family. They got their second chance with "the one that got away". The reason I didn't give it five stars is because I think it was a little unbelievably insta-lovey. I mean they had 2 days together 13 yrs ago then one week of re-connection and they've moved in together and are in love, but it is fiction so it is what it is. I definitely will continue the series cause I gots to know what the heck The Way is and where the heck all that money going.

Holy SHIT! WTAF did I just read?!?!

Ok let’s first start off with how amazing this story was! Jesse and Emma first met 13 years ago when they had an amazing weekend together, making promise after promise. He took off and left her where she met 3 other ladies at a bar that all had 2 things in common... Jesse and the same promises!!! What an asshole right? 13 years later these women turned into kickass self made rich women with a revenge plan. To teach Jesse a lesson he’ll never forget!!

In true JA Huss fashion there’s a WTF just happened moment right? If you’ve read her books before, you know what I’m talking about and if you haven’t, well you’re missing out so get on that shit right now because she is the queen of WTF!

Jesse doesn’t really know what his family actually does. He’s not close to his 2 older brothers and is completely clueless but has ideas of what they do. We can all assume what we’re getting into but whatever you think is not it at all! I was blown away and almost had heart palpitations from the anticipation towards the end of this book and I’m desperate right now to read the next one! DESPERATE!!!! This book can be read as a stand-alone but I’m telling you right now you’ll be desperate for the next one too!

JA Huss is just all around an amazing writer. Her stories are so full of twists and turns and your at the end saying again, WTF! I honestly think this is the longest review I’ve ever written and it’s because i can never say enough about the books she writes. She’s just that good!
