A baker who sees the dead. One too many suitors. And a killer. Living in Honey Hollow can be murder. *A laugh out loud standalone cozy mystery by New York Times Bestseller Addison Moore* All books in the series can be read individually but are best enjoyed in order.
My name is Lottie Lemon, and I see dead people. Okay, so I rarely see dead people, mostly I see furry creatures of the dearly departed variety, aka dead pets, who have come back from the other side to warn me of their previous owner’s impending doom.
Love is in the air and all of Honey Hollow is staring down the barrel of Valentine’s Day. By some stroke of luck I’m taking part in Vermont’s Best Baker competition, and believe me when I say there’s more drama than there are ingredients in the room. But when one baker accuses another of ripping off her sugar cookies things take a turn for the deadly. Add a stalker, an ornery snake, a fluffy white kitten who has an eye for everything that moves—and you have the perfect recipe for murder.
Lottie Lemon has a brand new bakery to tend to, a budding romance with perhaps one too many suitors, and she has the supernatural ability to see dead pets—which are always harbingers for ominous things to come. Throw in the occasional ghost of the human variety, a string of murders, and her insatiable thirst for justice, and you’ll have more chaos than you know what to do with.
Living in the small town of Honey Hollow can be murder.

I have no idea how Addison Moore does it, but seriously she knows how to whip up an amazing story. I don’t know where she gets the ideas from, but I love how they just keep coming. Yet again, Addison did another amazing job with this book and whilst there is still characters who I really want to SLAP….. Addison has managed to keep me pulled in with the story. I honestly can’t find anything to fault with this book, don’t get me wrong I still want to slap Cormack because she deserves it, but seriously why on earth is she still there???? Can’t she take the hint and just go away. So much goes on with this book and at times I really do feel for Lottie because she is such a sweet person and never puts herself first. But as always Addison likes creating up a storm but it works in the most strangest of ways. I really do want things to work out for Lottie, but it just seems like she has the worst luck, but then again I can sympathise with her because even though this is just a book, I know what a string of bad luck is like and it seems never ending. I hope that things work out for her soon because she does deserve to have happiness in her life. Seriously, I can not get enough of Addison’s work, I’m looking forward to seeing what happens next because I swear after that cliffhanger yet again…. (I swear she’s one of the queens for cliffhangers), I just can’t wait to see where we get taken to next.
In Lottie’s world, you’d think that after her helping catch the killer would lead to her having some good luck and some rest to just focus on her, but that’s not how her life works out….. She’s currently dealing with the fact that she’s been entered for a baking competition and is contending with some amazing competition, she’s got to deal with the fact that Cormack decided to have her cursed, decide who she wants to be with whilst trying to keep both Essex and Noah away from everyone else and then there’s the small little fact that Noah’s father has returned from the dead….. So you can imagine that her life is in full swing at the minute. However, when two of the bakers from the competition get murdered and then Lottie is almost taken down too, it seems that there’s another killing in Honey Hollows. Both Noah and Essex are worried for her and don’t want her taking on this case, but when her life is on the line you can’t blame her for wanting to get to the bottom of it. Will she be able to solve the case in time?
This was a fantastic book!! I thought it was a great story. The characters and the settings are are so well written, that you can picture them in your mind. I really didn't know who was the bad guy until the end of the book. Clues were given but sometimes they turned out to be false. There are a couple of subplots that are part of what makes this a great story. The baker has her hands full running her bakery, making the cookies and cakes that sound so good to eat, the mother is acting a bit like a teenager, the Valentine's Day cookie bake-off has seen the participants killed one by one. Two men are dating our chef. Two good-looking eligible men are subtly competing for her affection. This book is a great read. I'm looking forward to reading more in this series!!
Lottie just can’t seem to stop coming across dead bodies. But this time she finds herself in the middle of a double homicide with two fellow bakers. This is Lot, second chance at showing Vermont that she is the best baker. Will she finally win this baking competition. Noah’s father is back from the dead and he is on a new mission that no one is quite sure of in Honey Hollow. Then there is a witch in the mist. She is determined to take Everette and Noah away from Lottie. As Lottie should have chosen by now. So the witches curse it is for Lottie. Has Lottie danced her last dance!
Honey Hollow is staring down the day for Valentine’s Day. Lottie is going to be in the baking competition, and there be more drama in the room. Well then there is two creatures that comes to the front of me and it is a snake a kitten. SO, there is going to be trouble and a murder but who will it be? What is going to happen with Noah an Everitt with Lottie after the guys are going skiing with the blond idiots, (supposedly). Who is the stalker after Lottie? I am wanting Cormack to be gone and out of the picture she is crazy and so is her friend. Will have to see what happens. now on to the next book to see what happens.
Do not start this book if you cannot immediately start the next one in the series. Or, unless you're okay with uncertainty, and actually enjoy cliff-hanger endings, and can wait to find out what else is going on. This mystery has lots of twists and misdirections that kept me guessing. I wasn't completely surprised by the solution, but I certainly didn't have the whole thing figured out before the big reveal. But that ending has me wanting to scream and break fragile things.
This is a fun fast read. It’s funny and delightful. I wish the author would use more verbs though. Some of the same wording over and over got tiresome but it’s easy to look past. The reintroduction to some characters or places did get a little annoying. I wish I knew this was the 18th book in a series but I’ll survive. Characters were fun, story was fast paced and it’s a good palate cleanser between books.
As always I really enjoyed this book. I enjoy all the different characters and all the trouble Little gets herself into. I am pass my bedtime, but I had to finish the book. It is never clear to the end of the book who happens to be the killer. Now I am staying up later to read the next boob.
Another great book in the series. Lots of twists and turns. Definitely a valentine's day full of suprises. With relatives from the past. A baking contest, and a lot more going on around town things prove to turn deadly as usual. Enjoy as our normal crewe unravels the mystery if who did the foul deed!
I like the mystery plot. I feel the love triangle plot overshadowed it at times. Lottie has two ghost pets assisting her. The ending is a surprise. I never saw it coming.
I have binged this series in the last few weeks and have enjoyed them all! I am sad that I have to wait for a few weeks to read the next book and then another month for the next one to come out.
Sugar Cookie Slaughter is the 18th book in the Murder in the Mix series from Addison Moore who never fails to deliver a romantic roller coaster ride, hilarious antics, and a suspenseful mystery. It's the month of love in Honey Hollow so of course murder is in the air for the residents of this small town and inevitably Lottie Lemon gets dragged into the homicidal mix without a reasonable explanation as to why this keeps happening to her. Using her ever-evolving transmundane abilities and with the help of a few spectral entities, Lottie and friends must hunt for killer among the residents of Honey Hollow. Weaved into the intrigue is Lottie's ongoing relationship with not one but two town hotties, Noah and Everett, who she still can't make up her mind between. But who could blame her for not being able to choose, right? But when Lottie's life is threatened as she gets too close to solving the case the hotties in her life become overly protective and she's forced to dodge their protective advances so someone doesn't get away with murder. Nothing can get in the way of her crime-solving streak least of all her boy-toys.
Addison's writing keeps you on the edge of your seat 'til the very last page. You won't be able to put this book down as I'm sure you won't have been able to put down the previous in this sarcastically delightful series. I can't wait to find out what kind of trouble Lottie gets into next!
I received an advanced reader copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Lottie Lemon is at it again. While at the Vermont Best Baker pre-competition event, there's a murder. Lottie is involved in the investigation. Helping her are the ghostly pets of the recently departed, Taffy and Princess. The murder victims had many enemies so there are lots of suspects. And, what is the motive? Lottie needs to figure that out first before she can zero in on the murderer. Complicating matters are the two men in her life that she loves, Everett and Noah. Their ex-girlfriends are determined to win them back and Lottie is jealous. Noah's long dead father, who had faked his death, showed up recently. He causes lots of aggravation for Lottie, Noah, and Everett too. I loved this book's storyline. It left me wanting the next book in the series right now!! I am a big fan of this series and the author, Addison Moore. If you like cozy mysteries, I recommend that you start with the first book, Cutie Pies and Deadly Lies, and read your way through the rest of the series. You will feel like you are part of Honey Hollow and know all its residents, Lottie's family and friends. You'll know their histories, their personalities, and their quirks. I hope you'll enjoy all the books as much as I did.

Lottie Lemon returns in Sugar Cookie Slaughter, book 18 in the Murder in the Mix series. Lottie's supernatural ability to see the ghosts of beloved pets used to only spell out minor mishaps for their owners. Now, slips, trips, stumbles, and falls have been traded in for murder. For just over a year Lottie has had the unfortunate talent of stumbling upon fresh murder scenes. With a little help from the deceased's spectral pet, Lottie utilizes her amateur sleuth skills to figure out 'who done it' and find justice for the victim. With Valentine's Day approaching, as well as a bake-off toting the coveted title of Vermont's Best Baker, Lottie has to balance a murder investigation, a baking competition, and a love triangle she can't seem to break. Love triangle aside, Noah & Everett can agree on one thing, Lottie's safety is priority number one. True to Lottie's nature, she won't stand by and let a killer get away without justice. But has she pushed her luck too far? If the curse placed upon Lottie is real, it is only a matter of time until life as she knows & loves it blows up and is left in ashes. I can't wait to see what plays out for Lottie in the upcoming books in the series!

Sugar Cookie Slaughteris the eighteenth book in the Murder in the Mix Mystery series. This series builds on each other so I would suggest reading them in order to get the most out of it, but you could read them as stand alone if you wanted. Lemon has a gift of seeing dead animal of those who will experience back luck soon, but lately deadly luck. Love is in the air, it is once again February and valentines is just around the corner. Also it is almost time for the bake-off. But before the bake-off they were having a gathering with all the bakers and each baker bringing a sampling of their goodies. But before the night is over the competition is two bakers down, when Lottie stumbles across two bodies. Now in her investigation she learns a lot about all of her competitors. I don’t know what I enjoy more the murder mystery or the love triangle that Lottie found her self in. But one thing is for sure every time I get a new book I can’t wait to jump right in and learn more to the story.

I just cannot seem to get enough of this series! Lottie is just wonderful and her adventures in murder are such a great way to spend an evening. In this story, Lottie is baking some cookies for a competition, when murder is in the mix and she must put her detective skills to work. I LOVED her furry sidekicks in this book, they added so much enjoyment to the story that I hope they stay around for a while. I would also really like Lottie to pick a man already, I have my choice but I want her to make hers… I’m ready wither she is or not, LOL. The author really knows how to keep a reader guessing and I never seem to get the “who done it” right and that is another reason to love this series. With action and mystery this is another hit in the Murder in the Mix series. I received an ARC via Booksprout and am leaving an honest review.
OML.. I am not sure how much more I can take of this series.. They are just so awesome and keep me hanging at the end of each book, making me want the next book. It is so hard to sit and wait to find out what will happen with Lottie, Noah and Everett and the gang. They are all like part of the family and I just sit with bated breath waiting for the next book.
Of course in this book Lottie and the gang have fun with the Valentine holiday and a bake-off and of course another dead body to deal with......
If you want to know more then please don't wait and buy the book now it is so worth it. You can read this book as a stand-alone, but why would you want to??? Reading the entire series is the best idea you could ever have. Just saying.

Hmmmm, this is the first time I felt like the book was not fully complete, and man what a cliffhanger! Actually, to be fair, the main storyline was complete, and it was a great mystery. But there was a minor plotline that was not cleared up. This was a great book, and fortunately book 19 is out and ready to read.
Lottie is a character for sure! She sees dead people, or animals rather. And she has not one but two suitors... her husband Everett and her boyfriend Noah. She’s married to Everett in name only as a means to help him secure his inheritance. She’s taking time to feel things out with Noah before making her decision on which she will choose when she finds herself in the middle of a double homicide. Add in a few dead pets who come to help solve the crime and two randy mothers and you’ve got the makings of one heck of a read!
After solving the double murder Lottie finds herself in a rather sticky position...

Lottie has not one but two murders to solve. She is paired with an adorable kitten and a snake in this one. She also has a baking contest to try and win. It seems that Valentine's Day brings out love and shenanigans in Honey Hollow. There appears to also be a stalker who is bent on leaving Lottie threatening messages on cookies. The bevy of suspects is long and there is the usual background stories so new readers can figure out who is who. While she is no closer to figuring out her Everett and Noah situation, she does continue to do her sleuthing in her own unique style. I was entertained and am interested to see where the next book goes. Lottie always seems to find trouble in some way, shape or form and it seems she may have really stepped into it this time.
Awesome read and series, well written with a great plot and characters. I was absorbed from beginning to end. I love getting to visit Honey Hollow and all the fantastic people who live there. I couldnt put it down its a page turner! This book has everything mystery, romance, humor, suspense, murder, and twists and turns. Lottie Lemon has her hands full once again with baking in the bake off, her love triangle with Noah and Everett, stumbling on to two dead bodies and trying to solve two murders with the help of two animal spirits. I cant wait to read the next book in the series. I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from Booksprout.
